Indonesians protest U.S. church's plan to burn Quran

Jakarta, Indonesia - Thousands of Indonesians gathered Sunday outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta to protest a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Quran.

The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainsville, Florida, plans to mark the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks by burning copies of the Muslim holy text. The center describes itself as a "New Testament church based on the Bible." It made headlines last year when it distributed a T-shirt that said, "Islam is the devil."

Protesters in Jakarta carried signs saying, "Jihad to protect Koran" and "You burn qu'ran you burn in hell." The protesters included members of the hard-line Muslim group Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia and the pluralism care movement, a multi-faith group.

"We hope that the U.S. government to stop this plan. We represent Muslim, Christians and other religions who all wants to avoid any clashes as a result," Damien Dematra, the coordinator for the pluralism care movement, said in a news statement.

@pensive. Hi there, pleased that you know things about Islam but that might be not all truly explained to you and reasons they were imposed which is another study of Islam named Alfiqh wa Alshria which I am not much in since I have not to worry about it. But now you became to debate the existence of God say (Allah) well then you must be of no religion say Not a Jew Not a Christian nor a Muslims because all three are derived from The Prophet Abraham which we call ibrahim he was the father of Ishmail which we call Ismael and was the father of Izak which we cass isshaq who we all three branches derived from. Being believer is to believe with out seeing which we call Imaan and to be Muslim means the you leave your destiny in the hands of God Almighty who created our father Adam and Mother eve and therefore created us all and gave us life from his holy spirit and reminded us every time we take the wrong path by sending us Messengers of God to remind us teach and preach us but all the time few believed a many disbelieved their prophets and others killed their prophets of God for saying pray to God the only who has no father no mother no woman friend no Son no partners and that we are to apply what we are told by his prophets and books landed upon them and that is religion and I am proud that this was witnessed by three books from Adam to Naoh to Abraham and so on to prophet muhammed the illiterate prophet who couldn't read or write and was a sheep and goats sheppered then a trader then prophet then a leader of nations unto dates. Look friend I would like you to read that from the stories of the prophets told by all books even the Quran not for any thing else no only to intake the spiritual feelings of it and I am not asking you to become a Muslim and become killed if you commit apostasy oh no just for learning the wisdom within it and morals of these stories and believe me you are Muslim is you believe all mentioned above and with out saying it even and remain as a Jew or a Christian but believe on what I said above then you are Muslim, why? Because our Quran tells us that Prophet Abraham who named or called the believers as Muslims (Hanifan Musliman Wamakan min almushrikeen) Mushrkeen means those who believe God has partners or worship some thing else beside God, Alkafreen are the people who do not believe that mankind bones or dust will be brought back to life again as we were and face consequence of our choices Heavens or Hells, the Mulheeden are those who do not believe in the existence of God as a whole and they are the ones Quran mention will remain in hell for eternity.
Thanks for your comment and I hope mine would enlighten some thing in you as your belief in front of God is what you have in your heart and not what is declared to others, example could say so are so called Muslims but in their hearts they are not say just like priests who talks and acts like angels in front the public and community but deep in heart he is negative or a child molester or gay ? Forgot to tell you about one of the sharia laws that if two men had been cought or witnessed having sexual relation the law says that they are to be thrown down from the highest point or over a cliff for them to die beside other things that if maybe were followed we would not have been in all this mess in every thing in our lives we would have been free from many illnesses viruses that are invading us and would have controlled all these corruptions, frauds, crimes and usury, then maybe the world become a better place since the present road leading no where and down to hell on earth.

The florida dove's priest admired pressurized by higher levels to give up the plan of burning the Quran on 911, the priest has admitted that those Quran copies were sent to him by unknowns to him with notes that urge and erg him to burning as planed? So is it now not some thing of belief deep in his soul but only for the sake of those who erg him to do so?
Another thing if he does not know who is sending the copies to him to burn then what if they were an enemy of the USA who wants to weaken the USA from the inside and bring and grow her more hatred nationally and internationally which the present US enemy would take advantage of it to prove how much right they are to have distractive weapons and can easily used to declare an Islamic war as in Gihad which will obviously unite those indifference for the sake of Honorable Holy War in the Honor of the Quran immediately every Muslim will consider that dying fighting is his ticket to heavens!!!
What makes this burning special this time, well it is that:
-This 911 is the second date of the Islamic Eid Holidays after one month of fasting.
-Already on the media and public the sore issue of building a mosque close to 911 zero point.
-An American stabbing with a knife a cap driver for being muslim.
-The wars with Islamic countries, the bloodshed and the humiliation that they had suffered in the hands of countries that are considered as Christians or under Christian commands.
-The cases of Islamic Hijab and muezzin towers of a mosque, cartoon works.

All these in the end will be used to prove that Muslims are being pushed and provoked to final limits and to increase calls for Gihad that will unite all those in difference in Islam in to one for declaring official continental war and that is all the support strength a country under the siege like Iran would need from the Islamic world to lead the Holy War (Gihad). So could it be
Iran behind urging the priest to burn the Holy Quran? Would we believe that an Islamic Republic who fear God would be behind the priest to burn the Holy Quran on the 911?
If not then who is there else that could be behind the priest to burn the Holy Quran? Well we know that there is a Middle Eastern country that wants an immediate air strike and declaration of war against Iran but the USA and the NETO here partners are still reluctant to rush as did before since they are already in Quick sands of Afghanistan and Iraq and would prefer to resolve it by negotiations and boycott, but since this country or some politicians are not happy with that because they make more money in war than it is in peace have decided to send and urge the priest to burn the Quran copies on the 911in public and international news media to hurt Muslims on their Holy occasion of Eid that happens to be 911 is a Saturday and that which equals a feast for others on their Holy Day to witness the humiliations of Muslims being pushed into hatred to grow further up between Muslims and Christians and so they would never come close together or trust each other and as well to speed up the declaration process of war against Iran? Knowing that Iran would not be able to stay quite on the planed date of burning from saying things out of bitterness and I am sure Turkey as well would not be able to stay quite from saying things that might be taken in to account by the USA and the NETO which will be in favor of Israel to have what they want to happen on their Holy religious Day of Saturday?
Those are speculations given as examples how politics effect religions and their mutual understanding and respect.
    Good bye,

When Politics has no religion, when Politicians are chosen Seculars there will be no ( Our words are our bonds ) they are always seen rushing conferences meetings when it is to declare Wars taking life but dead slow when it is for giving life.

When the Powers of justice, the media, the force and the economy are in the hands of those Politicians then these powers are used to keep their people hypnotized an aware of what ever mess being made by them Internally  or Internationally.

Let us separate and weight issues as a two sided scale on (one hand Politics ) and on the (Other hand Religion).

Now we see that the Politics does all the dirty work of conspiracy in silent wars driving it up by the use of all powers given to them to reach levels of confrontations in battles or wars, they are good with creating wars between countries races and religions for their various plans or reasons either as a vast interest as a country or as a ruling party or as individuals benefits or for racial or religious reasons.

They as the founders or creators of all the known named international organizations are taking in to their consideration that they are above all members and what applies on other member countries does not apply on them,as an example take take it as Environmental issues they skip attendance as not of their concern.

Then they come and tell us about Human rights but not Religious rights?
Tell us about Freedom of speech but not freedom of believe and warship?
Tell us about Women Equality to Men but not equality between races?
They are forcing integration of their races to eliminate their cultures, religion and mother tongue languages, or otherwise sieve them bases differences then canceling or withdrawing nationality given then deporting them back to where ever they run off from?

Now for all been said above and for all (Actions/Reactions) it is always ending blaming and fighting between religions? So isn't time the if Religion can keep her word as her bond to take place ruling their countries bringing peace and prosperity to it's own races and all races with out forcing religious integration of one religion followers to any another religion but bring equality of rights, after all Religions are of God and Lands are of God then what seems to be the problem other than that some are spreading and growing fears in between for reasons only God Almighty knows.

Addressing the issue itself, there is plenty of idiocy on all sides. The pastor merely seeks to provoke by burning copies of the Quran. Burning does not invalidate the Quran (it does that by itself wonderfully enough). It does nothing except burn a few pages. That's it.

Although it is unfortunately true that the act will incite some Muslims in the Middle East to commit acts of violence, this reflects poorly on the intellectual maturity of those particular Muslims. If you're deeply offended by every imbecile that burns copies of a book you consider sacred, you need to grow up. Murder is an absolutely unjustifiable response to a mild insult such as this. More importantly, those Muslims fail to grasp the details of this issue – perhaps deliberately, in order to fuel their anti-American sentiment. The pastor does not represent anybody but himself. Not the government of the United States. Not the military of the United States. Not NATO. Not the majority of Americans. It's truly unfortunate that more Muslims do not acknowledge this important detail.

This pastor may be an inflammatory idiot. Burning something considered sacred by others may insult them. But his actions are constitutionally protected. Freedom of expression is more sacred than any religious text.

    @Muneef
You seem to have ignored the barbarism of Sharia law already demonstrated by earlier posters. Stoning, mutilation and torture are all prescribed by Sharia, for the most insignificant of "offenses". Be honest with yourself: what is the punishment for apostasy in Islam? Death. A person can be killed for choosing to not believe the Quran. This is not a peaceful religion.

As for the Quran being the word of Allah, there is absolutely no evidence in support of that statement. There is no evidence supporting the existence of Allah. Mind you, it's not Islam in particular – the problems (i.e. lack of evidence) apply to all religions. You mentioned the world being created by Allah. @Dishka. Our greeting is Alsalam Allicom which means peace be upon you,so you see we are people of peace and spread peace but we can not speak of peace by force when our wealth, land, beliefs and our freedom are being confiscated or can we? Any way the Art of War is the game of politicians and War Industries that depend on it, they are the ones benefiting from generation of wars why do you not ask them to calm down wars that would get them bankrupt in no time.
Bring justice and there would be no wars but when there is no justice then there people would take to weapons and wars to prove or protect their rightful rights. I just wonder if there was ever any time of peace on earth since God created mankind and whether that can be applied now while greed still on the spread?

@Dishka. Do not know where you got these senseless stories from? Did you try reading towards understanding the message of the Quran or just you picked it from the air? Islam is not about killing any one of any religion at all.
But let me warn you that even inIslam followers got divided to different beliefs other than the Orginal version of Islam found in the Arabian pennsuler either due to mistranslation or due to scriptwriters or those who paved for a new school of faith that has effected the unity of Islam dramatically, so please which School of Islam you are talking about that tells that killing any Christian is one step to Heaven? Surely not our Islam that does tell to kill believers of God. Another thing I was not judging the Holy Bible and I was talking generally about all Holy Books that must have lost it's meaning due to translation from one language to other and that's all. Peace be upon you and God Bless.
