Vandals torch West Bank mosque

Vandals torched a West Bank mosque and sprayed graffiti on its walls early Monday, officials said.

Palestinian witnesses said four people tried to set fire to the mosque, burning carpets and 12 Qurans around 3:30 a.m. (9:30 p.m. ET Sunday).

The arsonists sprayed "revenge" and "price tag" on the walls, Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld said.

CNN Producer Kareem Khadder observed burned carpets and tiles that had been broken off pillars inside the mosque. A spray-painted graffito in Hebrew read, "This is toilet number 18." Another said, "Revenge and avenge."

To quote General Garrison when TF Ranger got back from Somalia: If you throw enough RPGs into a rlvtaieely small airspace, you're bound to hit something sooner or later. The staff's aren't trying to hide the truth. It's just the typical we have to be sure and nothing's so until we say it is caution that puts military staffs so far behind the news media. In the latter case, erroneous information can be corrected with a this just in from our reporter on the scene sound bite.

I suppose CNN will get a media prize for this article. "Vandals" instead of "Israeli Settlers", thereby managing to keep this news out of most newspapers.

On an unrelated note, what is the definition of a 'troll' on this blog? I'm from Michigan where everyone who lives in the Lower Peninsula i.e. below the Mackinaw Bridge, is a 'troll'. I assume it's some form of atheist? Thank you.

cnn will run this story, fine. Hopefully they're still working on the 'Time Square Bomber' story. This guy is not only unrepentent, he threatens more attacks on us. Make an example out of this dirtbag. Dip the bullets in pigs blood and shoot this s.o.b. right between the eyes. And they wonder why people get irked when they want to build a 'victory mosque' at ground zero.

"The world is looking forward to the long list of serious international crimes "

Let is take a measure Smith. Multiple ships in the convoy were heading into Israeli waters. One ship refused to turn back. At which point a commando team came on board and a couple of crew members where killed but the bulk are still alive to this day.

Smith at the same time North Korea blew a huge hole in the side of a South Korean ship sending the ENTIRE ship and her crew to the bottom of the sea.

A ship and crew to the bottom of the Ocean and you folks make these silly tears for what happened on a ship that left port vocally challenging a military blockade. That is why the "world" isn't really pressed on this and the story has mostly died Smith. There were more pressing problems and most in the world know that there are few countries in the world that some wack job wants to haul into some world court.

If you can't drag a little country like North Korea into the court what chance do you think of dragging any Israeli government figure into any court?

A 'few wack jobs'? Try the majority of the world at this point. But Israel is America's little puppet so they get away with anything at this point.

      The Palestine-Isreal conflict: Some recommendations:

Israel's formation was approved by the UN in 1948. It should honor the original UN agreement and live within the described borders. Considering the hate generated by passages in the koran and torah, erecting dividing walls between Muslims and Jews is highly recommended. UN forces should control these walls.

And Jerusalem should be made into an international city under the control and protection of the UN.

Shortly after multiple midnight bulldozing destruction of a ancient Islamic cemetery in Jerusalem crushing hundreds of headstones and monuments under the guise of forcing a Israeli Peace Museum on the Palestinian people, rabid bands of Zionists firebombing a Mosque must seem rather tame. Probably just some bored Zionists that couldn't find a stray Palestinian to jump and club to death. The world is looking forward to the long list of serious international crimes resulting from Israel's invasion of the Gaza strip and the botched Israeli raid in International Waters on a NATO flagged cargo ship, are brought to the world's courts.

And it "ain't any better" in Palestine or other areas around the globe:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/22/world/middleeast/22jihadists.html?ex=1311220800&en=477ff07cfa579449&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

    An excerpt:

"The conflict in Lebanon has ignited a robust debate on jihadist Web sites over backing for Hezbollah, the Shiite group that set off the crisis when it seized two Israeli soldiers on July 12. The discussions reflect the widening divide between Shiite and Sunni Arabs in parts of the Middle East. Accusing Palestinians of being anti-Shiite, one Iraqi Shiite militant bitterly wrote, “It is better to concentrate one’s efforts on helping the Shiite kinfolk rather than the Sunnis.”

    Fill in the answers below:

    Hamas, Sunni or Shiite??

    Fatah, Sunni or Shiite??

Pakistan, Sunni or Shiite? Which group assassinated Bhutto??

    Malaysia, nearing a Sunni theocracy?

    Bahrain, Sunni or Shiite???

    Phillipines, Sunni or Shiite???

    Taliban, Sunni or Shiite???

    Somalia, Sunni or Shiite???

And it could all be solved by simply "deflawing" the koran!!!!!!

To "Reality"; so you think, "It is very likely that the mosque was torched by the opposing Muslim sect in the neighborhood"? Just like there are 'buttock openings' in isreal TODAY who state that, 'It is still a mystery who actually killed Yitzhak Rabin'. REALLY! still don't know? Or still trying to hide the truth that an ireali terrorist killed one of their own because M. Rabin actually wanted peace. How about a reality CHECK?

And for a moment people will open their eyes to the fact that terrorism is not tied to a religion/people but before they affirm a tide of articles will follow to remind us that our opinion is controlled by a facade.

Islam is peace attained by submitting your will to the creator of one and only creator. It stands very clearly against violence and oppression.

It is very likely that the mosque was torched by the opposing Muslim sect in the neighborhood.

    To wit:

    From: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/02/03/iraq.cleric.ap/index.html

"Al-Sistani was apparently referring to Abdullah bin Jabrain, a key member of Saudi Arabia's clerical establishment, who last month joined a chorus of other senior figures from the hardline Wahhabi school of Sunni Islam that regards Shiites as infidels.

Bin Jabrain described Shiites as "the most vicious enemy of Muslims."

Looks we should build a wall around the entire Middle East until these backward, immature, and irrational clerics can have at it with each other.

The Wahhabi branch of Islam, though relatively small, produces a lot of Islamic extremists. Wahhabi is the sect of Osama bin Laden and most of Saudi Arabia, and heavily influenced the Taliban.

It is not one religion alone that makes a terrorist. There are many factors. Sometimes I wonder either side really wants peace.

And we are told to believe by these same neocon pro-Israeli commentators all over the media that all terrorists are Muslim.

    • peace2all

      @Yasmin

Actually, (not all )pro-Israeli commentators all over the media, believe that (all) terrorists are Muslim.

I have come across some over the years that are against 'any' form of terrorism, whether they be Muslim, Christian, Jewish, etc.. Atheists.

Terrorism is not just defined by 'a group.' Please be careful of over-generalizing.

      Peace...
