Pastor Joel Osteen: Homosexuality is "a sin"

Best-selling author and Pastor Joel Osteen, and his wife Victoria Osteen, are the guests on Wednesday's "Piers Morgan Tonight," and the hour-long discussion touches on faith, finances, charity and more.

But one part related to a topic Osteen rarely discusses – sin. Specifically, why homosexuality is a sin, and according to the scriptures, Elton John is a sinner.

"The scriptures shows that it's a sin," said Osteen in the interview. "But you know, I'm not one of those that are out there to bash homosexuals and tell them that they're terrible people and all of that. I mean, there are other sins in the Bible too...I don't believe homosexuality is God's best for a person's life."

    This concept is like cniatp to me. Have you read Lionel Shriver's "The Post-Birthday World"? It has a similar premise (parallel universes where we see her live out two different lives). Really fascinating and so well done. I just loved it, and my love of that book makes me want to read this one too.

    Only misguided individuals who'll think or say that the bible is bias and hateful to gays.

    It's better to be blinded by faith, got everything wrong and die with nothing next, rather than to be consumed by our own ego of utter unbelief, got wrong and die with eternal damnation and torment.

      @Richard..

      Thanks for the site, no need for me to go there. I have my KJV in front of me. The entire chapter covers "ALL" the (adultery, incests, sodomy etc.) unclean things of the world and is NOT bias to gays. Moreover, it only condemns the gayness act but NOT necessarily to the gay itself.

    I know of no other verses in the Christian Gospels that says anything about man lying with another man. If anyone does know of other passages of scripture saying anything else about such please post it! :-) Have a wonderful day everyone!
