Gay parenting takes off in the Bible Belt

By Rich Phillips, Senior Producer

Jacksonville, Florida (CNN) – Latisha Bines and Misty Gray cheered like any other parents at a recent middle school soccer game.

They're the two soccer moms in 13-year-old Darion Bines’ life. The women and all three of Latisha’s children operate as a family. And they've turned to their church for support, suggesting a changing face of the Bible Belt.

Data from the most recent U.S. Census shows that the South has the largest share of gay parents in the country.

“There are more of us coming out,” Bines said. “We’re feeling more comfortable about who we are. I guess it gives us more of a chance than back in the '80s, when you had to stay in the closet because you were ridiculed.”

Bines came out after having three children. She and Misty were joined as life partners in 2010 commitment ceremony. They live in part of the conservative Deep South, where many communities have not been receptive to so-called gay families.

“Gay and lesbian people tend to come out later in life, in those areas, which means they are more likely to have children from a previous relationship earlier in their lives,” said Gary Gates, a demographer with the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law.

Gates analyzed the data from the American Community Survey from 2005-09, which is administered by the Census Bureau. His analysis also showed that across the country, gay parents are more likely to be black or Hispanic than they are to be white.

According to the survey, San Antonio, Texas, leads the country in gay parenting, with 34% of same-sex couples raising children. That's followed by Jacksonville, Florida at 32%.

Bines and Gray have lived in Jacksonville all their lives.

They say they’ve found that their sexual orientation and spirituality can come together and be welcomed in gay-friendly Jacksonville area churches that were once off limits.

“It was welcome. It was comfortable,” Bines said. “We’re lesbian, but our God still loves us, no matter what.”

Bines sings in the choir at the nondenominational St. Luke’s Community Church, which was firebombed three times in the 1980s, apparently because of its policy of welcoming lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender congregants.

The church's pastor, Valerie Williams, is a gay activist. She says church policy all about family acceptance, especially for children.

The goal is “acceptance of their parents and being able to be around other children who have the same makeup of families that they have,” she said. "God is love and that’s the God that we serve here.”

Some local congregations challenge Williams' approach. When word of Jacksonville’s gay parent ranking in the census began to spread, one pastor asked for everyone to pray.

Pastor Vaughn McLaughlin, of the Potter’s House Christian Fellowship, told CNN that the Bible does not teach or encourage gay relationships, which he says confuse children.

“A lifestyle of open, same-sex relationships, that can’t regenerate, that can’t produce, that can’t do anything,"  said McLaughlin, who leads a megachurch. "I find it to be over and against what I actually have found the truth of the Bible to be.”

“Marriage is between a man and a woman," he continued. "That’s the biblical premise for what we believe, for what we teach, and we’re gonna hold on to that.”

But at St. Luke’s, Williams defended the rights of gay people and their families to worship.

“The children are able to serve God , with their families, and not being judged by the person sitting in the pew in front of them… snickering, like, ‘Why do they have kids? Why are they here?’”

Williams has started a support group for the children of gay parents. There, kids can talk about problems they're dealing with, including discrimination, over a hot dog or spaghetti dinner and review their report cards with Williams, who is known by congregants as Pastor Val.

And for Bines and Gray, the church has been a welcome addition to their lives.

“It’s brought us together, structurally as a family,” Gray said. “And because of the recent death rates, the suicide rates for kids being bullied, it’s extremely strong for the church to be a factor in the kids lives.”

Gates, the demographer, and Williams said they believe a cultural or religious support system might allow people to be more honest about their sexual orientation on a government survey.

“People are more willing to indicate on these government surveys that they are part of a same-sex couple, even in the more conservative parts of the country,” said Gates. “It’s a sign of progress.”

I suppose I'll send it in pieces, and then I'll leave. Here is the first bit:
    Roger,
You say you believe in God. Do you, therefore, believe that God/Jesus Christ are the word of God, like John 1:1-14 and Revelations 19:13 clearly say? If yes, then you believe all of the word of God, because God IS the word of God. And the word of God says that "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4, caps added). And if you believe and live by every word of God, you believe 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that says that no gay shall inherit the kingdom of God.
You say "I just believe I'm meant to use the brain and the heart he gave me which clearly tell me that He couldn't be the author of barbaric horrific verses like those."
    But
God says, "5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil." Proverbs 3:5-7

@ Michelle, after reading through your posts, I'm not sure you are really seeking honest answers to your questions. It feels much more like accusations and derogatory statements, rather than sincere questions. Good luck with that.

Michelle, you should not ask a question on a blog. As you have noticed the haters attack you rather than answering the question. I dont have an answer for you either but it is a fair question. your accusers dont even realize they are the haters but they are willing to tell you that you are a hater. Louis is probably the 500 pound person on here and enjoys stereotyping and hating just as well as anyone.

Hi Michelle, here is an honest answer for you. I am a woman attracted to women. Not to every woman just because they are female (as I assume you are not attracted to every male just because they are male). there are many traits that factor into my attractions. Some are traits evidence on the outside, some evident only once you get to really know a person. Women fill my needs on all levels where men do not (I'm speaking here of intellectual, emotional in addition to physical). I am far more compatible with women than men. Physical intimacy does not drive my relationship – it's vitally important to be physically compatible with my partner, but that does not make up the entire relationship. i'm assuming it is the same for you. Good s*x is important but not the main component. Right? The usual path is attraction, followed by getting to know the person (inside as well as out) and then eventually it leads to physical intimacy. Although of course there are those relationships that are initiated upon physical intimacy and the rest follows (or not).

If you have only seen same gender couples who are both butch, then I'm afraid you have not seen that many same gender couples. They are as diverse and varied as opposite gender couples. Maybe it's time to get acquainted with more same gender couples so that you can find the answers to the questions you have. It's hard to explain every single thing to one person on a public forum such as this.

Colin, Please stop with the nonsense polls you pull off the net. Your post is easy to answer. Christians care about your soul (believe it or not), whereas, atheists could care less about your soul as long as you stay carnal along with them so you can all enjoy the ride to the eternal flames only to be blotted out for eternity. So, keep thinking this is it and t hat you derived from apes, that there is only one life to live and when you die that is the end. Death is the end of the physical body on this earth ... but everyone's soul goes back to God who made you. Your soul is the spiritual intellect that God gave each and every one of us. He wants us to love and follow Him. That's it. Love and follow how He wants us to be while housed in human flesh. The only way you know how He wants us to live is by reading the Bible (His letter to us, His blueprint how to live life while down on earth).

Besides, it is so simple and easy, it doesn't take courage to believe, think and live a carnal life. It takes courage to exchange your carnal beliefs, learn, think and believe spiritually the way Jesus teaches ALL if we read His truth in the letter He wrote us (the Bible).

      Amen.

The comments on this so-called "belief blog" always flame people who believe in God and ridicule their faith. No matter what the article, even one about an enlightened church, the negativity will always reign on this blog.

@linzel, the belief that gays should be vaporized is not mine. I'm just making an observation that even in light of a positive article about a tolerant church, there are postings which ridicule a belief in God. Very strange on a Belief Blog. That is what it is called, isn't is?

@ Michelle If I had to look back on the women I've been attracted to, I'd say I'm into kind of a sporty femme type. I'm basically feminine myself. The thing is, these women were sweet people and had attractive personal qualities, like confidence. Unfortunately, what do you think happens when you try to hit if off well with a feminine woman? THEY'RE STRAIGHT! And how do straight women treat lesbians who like them? Like they are s3-xual predators. Or like they are the fling that they're boyfriend doesn't have to know about. Pretty soon, the other lesbians just give up even attempting to go there because straight women have made da-mn good and well the flack is too great. So, really, I blame you.

The more I read and the more I live on this earth, I don’t think anyone of you get it. Why are all of you jugging what they do and how they live there life? Are they bothering you? um.. no. Are they going to church and believing in Christ.. Um yes.. So why do you all care what they are doing. They go to work and pay there taxes like everyone else and they have rights just like everyone else. It boggles my mind that people are so quick to judge someone before they even know the situation or who these people are. Also this whole thing with marriage between man and women business is for the birds. Marriage is nothing more then who can pull the plug when you are on life support and a tax break. If you take a married man and women of ten years and two men that are partnered for ten years, who is happier? Who is more ethically right? Who are YOU to judge?

I don't believe it is. I know God didn't write it. It was written by men with their own biases and faults. It was translated, in many cases inaccurately, by men with biases and faults. It is interpreted by people who have faults and biases. The very fact that there are arguments among BELIEVERS about its meanings should tell you and everyone else that there is no ONE TRUTH. That the Bible and Christianity and beliefs are indeed not set in stone and all of a piece. You can believe whatever you want; I shall do the same. There are MANY paths to god-yours is not the only one, no matter what you think.

Well, I believe that the bible was written by inspiration of God through the Holy Spirit.... Studying it will reveal this to you. And as far as there being many ways to God, you're exactly right! All ways do lead to God! Every single person, nomatter what faith, will come before God. But only one way, through Jesus Christ, leads to salvation....all other ways lead only to judgement.
      Matthew 7:13-14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

AMEN, Pastor McLaughlin. Keep speaking the TRUTH. You'll be hated by some but admired by those of us who are sick of gay activists shoving their agendas down our throats. (no pun intended)

    • wsirons

What about the 10% of those "confused" children who are born gay? Are we going to let them feel so confused about who they are that they just commit suicide about it? Do you think that it is ok for our nations youth (gay or straight) to simply kill themselces because we are too afraid to show them the truth? (You do realize that 10% of ALL mammals are gay, right? Not just us) So if you are ok with letting them die, why not just go out and kill them? They're just going to be confused and perpetuate the whole gay problem. So lets all decide to be baby killers and stop the problem before it starts. Is that the right conclusion?

The "agenda" is nothing more than equal rights. And we're not ever going to stop pushing for it, so you'd better get used to it. Because it's not going anywhere, and the events of the last 10 or 20 years prove that you haters are on the losing side of it. So you can start seeing people as equals, accept them, and stop fighting them; or you can keep p*ssing into the wind. It's up to you.

wsirons, Jesus told us to go humble for a reason and that reason is to stop man's (meaning women too) big egos from taking over so the person can comprehend His spiritual teachings how to be the best that He wants us to be while housed in human form. That's why folks (you wrote they are the 10%) are confused. They're confused because they haven't read Jesus' truth yet because non-believers want to shove their babble nonsense into their minds. They don't need to listen to man (meaning women too), they need to quiet their minds and read Jesus' truth (the Bible). After reading Jesus' truth, then and only then will they have a firm foundation of who they are in which to flourish and be the best that God wants us to be. PERIOD.

People commit suicide because they get confused over the years of listening to all the man made babblings, which is mixed up messages that are of course are debunking Jesus' truth. Their confused because they are convinced by non-believers not to believe in Jesus' truth. They are confused and end up rejecting Jesus' truth (1 John 2:4) and end up without hope (Ephesians 2:12). They end up listening to all the man made babble of non-believers insisting Jesus' truth is made up. All this is the carnal evils of this world, as Jesus tells us it is. It is too much to listen to man made babble of the non-believers so they take suicide as a way out to release them from the pain that non-believers cause ... which is not to continue in the faith thereby, being removed away from the hope of the gospel (Colossians 1:23). They do not know or no longer believe ... for we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end (Hebrews 3:14). Jesus ensured we had this truth because He knows the ways of the world is full of evil ... evil intention, evil egos, man/women saying what you want to hear and denying His truth. A suicidal person then is confused by the lies of the world of non-believers and they know it doesn't make sense, is evil, so they check themselves out to put an end of living in a world of this evil especially when non-believers come up with statistics of other NON-Believers.

Get a grip wsirons with all your babbling nonsense of statistics from other babbling fools. Read His truth for once in your life (the Bible) and then Christians can have a logical conversation with you.

Finally, if you know someone who is talking suicide, run, do not walk to the nearest Christian who knows and abides in the word of God (aka A licensed Christian counselor well versed in God's truth and not the babble baloney of man) who can assist this person while in their confused state of existence.

      Amen.

Hevensent this show why your interpretation of text is so narrow. The poster is talking about children not adults but you went on a rant assuming they have the capability to read and understand what is going on with them. Its children! The hatred and bullying of gay children is a huge issue in our society. Christians need to acknowledge they are part of the problem because they are using words like abomination and evil. The fragile mind of a child doesn't fully understand this type of hatred especially when you factor in they are born this way.

Then please educate me Mike. Every time i see a pic of a lebian "couple" one of them looks like a man. Why is this? If they want to be with someone masculine, why don't they date a MAN?

They don't want to date a man, it's that simple. Everyone has different attractions, and many gay women are attracted to female masculinity. Also, there are plenty of lesbian couples where both women are feminine presenting, both are masculine presenting, or both are somewhere in between. My partner is with me because she is attracted to me. How lucky we all are that peoples' attractions aren't only for the prototypical attractive man or attractive woman. Otherwise, most of us wouldn't be getting any.

      February 7, 2011 at 3:16 pm |
    • Leah

Ever hear the term "opposites" attract, well I fear that too many of us think of that as anatomical opposites attract. An artist who marries an accountant; a quiet man marries an outgoing woman...etc. Just looking masculine doesn't mean that they are TRYING to be a guy or that a woman wants a guy. Perhaps that femme-y woman wants a really strong, do-it-yourself type of woman. It's not rocket science so don't even worry about it.

      February 7, 2011 at 3:19 pm |
    • times3

      Michelle,
I am a gay man, not a lesbian, but I think I can give some perspective on your question. Many people are attracted to "opposite" characteristics in a partner. Take a hetero female, for example. She may be attracted to a traditionally masculine man who can sing tender ballads. She is attracted to those softer or more feminine characteristics related to singing that still exist within a very masculine man. This is what is meant when a woman says she wants a "stud muffin." She is saying she values the soft values packaged in a strong man. It does not mean she desires a woman–far from it. So, some lesbians are attracted to the butch side of another woman. But they still desire a woman. If you look at it this way, I think almost everyone can relate to this interplay of opposites, whether you are gay or straight.

Here's an answer for you Michelle. You always see pictures like that because the media loves to deal in stereotypes; and they dumb everything down to the lowest common denominator for simpletons like you. They show a stereotypical lesbian couple that way because that's the only way morons can understand it. These are the same morons who ask pea-brained questions like "which one is the man?". That's why.

Now go out and try to make friends with a real-live living breathing lesbian, and maybe you'll start seeing them as real actual people instead of media-propagated stereotypes.

Because those are the only couples you notice. I've seen many a couple where both are masculine or feminine. Generalize much?

read all of Proverbs, there's tons of truth in there.
Also Ezekiel 36 – predicts that Isreal would re-form as a nation, which it did in the 1940s... The jews came back from a bunch of different countries to Isreal after 2000 years with the same language, customs, and traditions..... No one could have predicted this would happen, it's never happened before, and never will again. That, for me, is one of the greatest proofs that the bible is Gods word.

      February 7, 2011 at 3:30 pm |
    • chris

and personally, I don't "gay bash." It's pointless to focus on one sin... The world is just wrapped up in all different kinds of sin, and it shouldn't suprise Christians that it exists.... Do I think that an openly gay person should be a leader in the church? No.... Being a Christian is a process of putting God first above how you feel, which defies all logic on earth, but that's the process of spiritual growth.

      February 7, 2011 at 3:35 pm |
    • chris

but any church that would turn away a gay person from attending services needs to re-evaluate who Jesus is and what Jesus saved THEM from.....No one should stand in the way of God doing a work by turning away a gay person from church and making them feel unwelcome, but at the same time, they need people to come alongside them in love, and show them what it means to pick up the cross. It's not supposed to be easy, and that's the biggest thing I've learned about Christianity...how difficult to the flesh it can be sometimes...it's definitly worth it though.

Solat14, what you wrote is a LIE. Besides being a LIE, you are pumping up the volume to ensure that Jesus' truth isn't being heard. Christians are NOT bashing anyone. As a matter of fact, we love every one and just want folks to realize that they have a mortal soul that will be judged on judgment day for how they conduct themselves while housed in human form. We are ALL judged. We know this truth because Jesus wrote His truth in His letter to all of us (called the Bible). We are repeating His truth by telling folks stop and think and start practicing Jesus' spiritual teachings because the sin of LUST of the flesh is not abiding in His truth and the SIN OF THE FLESH is blinding and deafening folks who insist on living carnally to His spiritual truth.

We know what Proverbs 28:26 says ...He who trusts in his own heart is a fool.

Therefore, Christians know the above statement of Proverbs to be His truth and not to follow your own heart while living carnally. In order to stop living carnally, a person needs to learn Jesus' spiritual teachings so their spirits can How he wants us to be and that when they leave this earth of being housed in the flesh their spirit will go back with Him to live spiritually for eternity.

This life is just a test. Follow and Love Jesus and live (both on this earth and after we leave this earth) or follow and love satan and die (both while on this earth and your soul will burn in the eternal flames for ever more). For ever more. Yes, for ever more! Blotted out. Like Lucifer. He will be blotted out.

When you learn, comprehend and abide in His truth, then and only then when you know His truth will you know it in your heart of hearts because He is the one and only to change your heart.

      Peace and Amen.

Nurse: I wasn't always a Christian... My parents didn't raise me this way. I found my life was full of MUCH more fear and hatred when I was an athiest.

      @Chris

While the establishment of the state of Israel was seen by Christian Zionists as a sign that God was fulfilling his promises to Abraham and Jacob, the early political leaders of Israel were primarily secular.

David Ben Gurion, Israel's Prime Minister from the founding of Israel until 1963, represented the secular Ideals of the early Zionists.

For practical reasons, Ben Gurion accepted the boundaries that excluded the ancient Jewish lands of Samaria and Judea in the West Bank. The early Israeli leaders also agreed to a divided Jerusalem.

There was no miracle here, or Jerusalem would not have been divided. Fundies see a miracle behind every event.

Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year, which is roughly one-fifth of America's entire foreign aid budget.

The United States is the reason Israel survives. Not the desert hobgoblin. LOL! LOL 'till my sides ache.

There are many prophecies made by Ezekiel, that never came true. You are using selective observation to prove your case.

      Cheers!

Somebody PLEASE explain to me, preferably a lesbian, WHY if you don't like men do you match yourself up with a woman who has done everything "she" can to make herself look like a man? It just doesn't make sense to me.

You can answer that question for yourself if you are nice, sweet, loving woman who is only interested in finding the same in a mate, regardless of the style they portray on the outside.

Can you explain why straight people are so freaking shallow, self centered, ignorant, under educated that they always assume people's worth are based on their looks. A little newsflash sweetheart (And I bet you weigh 500 lbs too) orientation is not based on physicality alone. That might be the case for straight idiots who think the entrie world revolves around their low IQ, but gay people tend to be a bit more meaningful and in depth when it comes to who they love. You straight people are sick. Ya get knocked, marry people you don't love, attempt to raise kids you are too inept to raise and then expect the global village to do it for you. Down with dumb straight people already!!!!!!!!

Exactly!!! One always looks like the woman and one looks like the dude and you can see it every time. It is so laughable!! Then they go out and buy a strap on I hear!!! Go figure.

    • Sigh...

They don't. Certainly not all of them. Help you at all? There are plenty of couples who are both traditionally feminine looking and those who are both masculine looking – there are also plenty of relationship that have one of each. You're generalizing way too much.

Michelle, because gay folks don't know or refuse to know His truth as follows ...

The righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in those who walk by the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 says,

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Those who walk by the Spirit do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. And what is the lust of the flesh? It is breaking the law of God. The deeds of the flesh are all contrary to the law of God, as Galatians 5:19-21 illustrates.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

All of these things are against the law of God. But, those who walk by faith, who walk in the Spirit, these are sons of God (Romans 8:14); and these are those who fulfill the righteous requirements of the law (Matthew 22:40; Romans 8:4; Galatians 5:14). They do not covet (Exodus 20:17). They do not steal (Exodus 20:15). They honor their father and mother, etc. (Exodus 20:12). They live godly lives as a result of their trust in Christ (Romans 10:9-10; James 2:14-26).

Of course there is more to Jesus' teachings but that means to take time out of your life daily and read His truth (the Bible).

      Amen.

People aren't just lesbians because they don't like men. You can take that back under your rock with you.

Is the original poster saying all straight people look for the same personality, appearance types? Your question assumes ALL lesbians will be matched with a fem and a butch, this is way off the mark and just not true. The question you ask shows your ignorance in assuming all are alike. HOWEVER, those who do like a butch looking female know what is under the clothes. Wall have our preferences whether straight or LGBT. I am a SWF, I like big guys, tats, dark complexion and a super sweet, playful personality. My sister likes blondes, clean cut, serious dudes...just a preference, why do you care?

I'm a lesbian and I can definitely answer this. We don't. Those are only the ones you notice. Our relationships come in every variety there is, you just are not paying close enough attention to see us. I know we have said it a thousand times before, but here is a thousand and one: We are just like you, we love each other and just want to share a life, raise our families and be happy. I know that for some strange reason that sounds earth shatteringly horrible to you, but ...

      @HeavenSent

Your god is neither righteous or moral.

God directly or at His insistence, murdered men, women and children including babies. Is this good? Is this moral?

God had a man believe he was going to sacrifice his son to Him. Do you know how traumatic that would be for a father and his son?
If you had the power would you do this? Would you be so insecure? Is this good? Is this moral?

There was a man who loved God. God made a bet with Satan that even if the man were tortured, his Possessions taken, and his children killed, he would still love God and never curse Him. God won the bet.
Would you do that? Would you kill a man's children for a bet? Is this good? Is this moral?

God sent a bear to kill a group of children, because they had teased one of His prophets.
Did the children deserve to die, because they teased a bald man? Is this good? Is this moral?

God allowed a man to sacrifice his daughter to Him, for giving the man a victory in battle.
Is this good? Is this moral?

God created a place He can send people to be burned for all eternity. Could an all good god do this?

If a puppy wet on the floor, would you hold it over a burner? Even for a second?

      Jesus had this to say:

Matthew 7:17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Luke 6:43 "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

A good god can't do evil things!

So, god could be evil or he could not exist and all the events we see, are just coincidence and random chance.

      Cheers!

@T3chSupport – YOU are absolutely right. I like women a whole lot better than men in every aspect.

      February 7, 2011 at 5:16 pm |
    • HeavenSent

David Johnson, my answers to your questions are in UPPER CASE.

      You wrote ...
“Your god is neither righteous or moral”.

DAVID, NOT BELIEVING DICTATES NOT UNDERSTANDING (2 CORINTHIANS 4:4).

JESUS DIED FOR ALL MEN (MEANING WOMEN TOO).

“FOR THIS IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD OUR SAVIOR, WHO DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH...WHO GAVE HIMSELF A RANSOM FOR ALL.” 1 TIMOTHY 2:3-4 and 6.

“AND HE HIMSELF IS THE PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS, AND NOT FOR OURS ONLY BUT ALSO FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.” 1 JOHN 2:2 (2 PETER 2:1, 1 CORRITHIANS 8:11, ROMANS 14:15).

God directly or at His insistence, murdered men, women and children including babies. Is this good? Is this moral?

“IF YOU ABIDE IN MY WORD, YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES INDEED. AND YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH. . . “ JOHN 8:31, (1 JOHN 2:4, 1 JOHN 2:3-6). SINCE YOU DO NOT COMPREHEND GOD’S TRUTH DAVID, YOU CAN’T POSSIBLY FIGURE THIS SCRIPTURE OUT. FOR BY HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED THAT ARE IN HEAVEN AND THAT ARE ON EARTH. (COLOSSIANS 1:16). LIVING, DEAD, EVERY ONE AND EVERYTHING BELONG TO HIM.

God had a man believe he was going to sacrifice his son to Him. Do you know how traumatic that would be for a father and his son?

YOU ARE TAKING SCRIPTURES OUT OF SEQUENCE, AND DIDN’T BOTHER TO READ SCRIPTURES PERTAINING TO THE ONE YOU QUOTED SO AS TO COMPREHEND THE TRUTH TO WHY HE ASKED THIS MAN’S SON BE SACRIFICED. IT WAS TO TEST THE MAN’S BELIEF IN HIM (GOD) AND HIS TRUTH ABOUT WHY WE ARE HERE. DO YOU KNOW THIS ANSWER DAVID? GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON (JESUS CHRIST) TO COME DOWN TO EARTH AND LIVE AMONG US, DIE FOR OUR SINS TO CONQUER DEATH (AKA EVIL). TALK ABOUT THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. GOD ASKS NOTHING OF US THAT HE HAS NOT HIMSELF DONE.

If you had the power would you do this? Would you be so insecure? Is this good? Is this moral?

DAVID, THIS IS A TEST FROM GOD, JUST AS LIFE IS A TEST FROM GOD. DO YOU TRULY BELIEVE DAVID THAT THIS LIFE ON EARTH IS ALL THERE IS TO OUR SPIRITS? OUR SPIRITS THAT GOD CREATED!

There was a man who loved God. God made a bet with Satan that even if the man were tortured, his Possessions taken, and his children killed, he would still love God and never curse Him. God won the bet.

Would you do that? Would you kill a man's children for a bet? Is this good? Is this moral?

GOD DID NOT KILL JOB’S CHILDREN. LUCIFER (AKA SATAN) DID THE KILLING, TOOK HIS POSSESSIONS ETC. SATAN BET GOD THAT JOB WOULD BUCKLE UNDER THE PRESSURES OF HIS (LUCIFER’S) EVIL THAT HE BROUGHT INTO JOB’S LIFE. SATAN’S LIES/PRESSURES/EVILS/CARNAL DESIRES TO GET JOB TO CRY UNCLE, TO GET JOB TO NO LONGER LOVE AND TRUST IN GOD .... SATAN WANTED JOB TO BETRAY HIS FAITH IN GOD SO THAT SATAN COULD TAKE JOB’S SOUL (ANOTHER OF GOD'S CHILDREN) WITH HIM TO THE ETERNAL FLAMES AND BE BLOTTED OUT FOR ETERNITY.

DAVID, SATAN IS THE LIE. GOD IS TRUTH.

God sent a bear to kill a group of children, because they had teased one of His prophets.
Did the children deserve to die, because they teased a bald man? Is this good? Is this moral?

DAVID, YOU’RE STILL THINKING CARNALLY ON THIS SCRIPTURE. IF YOU LEARN TO THINK, BELIEVE AND LIVE SPIRITUALLY, GOD’S TRUTH WILL COME TO YOU WHEN YOU START READING THE BIBLE IN IT’S ENTIRETY. NOT JUST PICKING SCRIPTURES HERE AND THERE TO MAKE SOME POINT!

God allowed a man to sacrifice his daughter to Him, for giving the man a victory in battle.
Is this good? Is this moral?

SAME AS ABOVE. YOUR CARNAL THINKING IS CLOUDING JESUS SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS. THAT’S IF YOU BOTHERED TO SHUT YOUR EGO OFF, GO HUMBLE TO READ AND COMPREHEND HIS TRUTH.

God created a place He can send people to be burned for all eternity. Could an all good god do this?

DAVID, ONLY SINNERS WHO INSISTS ON LIVING CARNALLY ARE AFRAID OF THE ETERNAL FLAMES AND BEING BLOTTED OUT FOR ETERNITY. CHRISTIANS AREN’T AFRAID OF GOD’S TRUTH. BESIDES, THE LORD HAS MADE ALL FOR HIMSELF, YES, EVEN THE WICKED FOR THE DAY OF DOOM. (PROVERBS 16:4). THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO HUMBLE YOURSELF (MEANING CAN YOUR EGO) PRAY TO GOD AND ASK HIM TO GUIDE YOU TO LEARN, COMPREHEND AND ABIDE IN HIS WISDOM ... BECAUSE, FOR BY HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED THAT ARE IN HEAVEN AND THAT ARE ON EARTH. (COLOSSIANS 1:16).

If a puppy wet on the floor, would you hold it over a burner? Even for a second?

I RESCUE ANIMALS DAVID. BUT, AS WITH MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS, YOU COULDN’T KNOW THIS TRUTH ABOUT ME SINCE YOU DON’T KNOW ME OR WHAT I AM ALL ABOUT. SAME AS WHY YOU DON’T KNOW JESUS!

      Jesus had this to say:

Matthew 7:17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Luke 6:43 "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE (LUKE 13:6-9). HAVE YOU READ IT DAVID? GOD TOLD US ALL TO READ IT.

A good god can't do evil things!

THE LORD HAS MADE ALL FOR HIMSELF, YES, EVEN THE WICKED FOR THE DAY OF DOOM. (PROVERBS 16:4)

THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, AND DESPERATELY WICKED. (JEREMIAH 17:9)

FOR BY HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED THAT ARE IN HEAVEN AND THAT ARE ON EARTH. (COLOSSIANS 1:16)

THE WICKED ARE ESTRANGED FROM THE WOMB; THEY GO ASTRAY AS SOON AS THEY ARE BORN, SPEAKING LIES. (PSALM 58:3)

YOU ARE WORTHY, O LORD, TO RECEIVE GLORY AND HONOR AND POWER; FOR YOU CREATED ALL THINGS, AND BY YOUR WILL THEY EXIST AND WERE CREATED. (REVELATION 4:11)

THE WICKED, AND THEIR DESPERATELY DECEITFUL AND WICKED HEARTS, WERE AND ARE CREATED BY GOD, AND THEY CONTINUE TO EXIST AND BE WICKED BECAUSE HE WILLS IT SO, AS REVELATION 4:11 EXPLICITLY SAYS, “BY YOUR WILL THEY EXIST.” PEOPLE DON’T DECIDE ON THEIR OWN TO BE WICKED AND ESTRANGED FROM THE WOMB AS SOON AS THEY ARE BORN.

THIS IS WHY ISAIAH PRAYED TO GOD ...

O LORD, WHY HAVE YOU MADE US STRAY FROM YOUR WAYS, AND HARDENED OUR HEART FROM YOUR FEAR? (ISAIAH 63:17).

So, god could be evil or he could not exist and all the events we see, are just coincidence and random chance.

OBVIOUSLY DAVID, YOU DO NOT CARE TO PICK UP THE BIBLE AND READ HIS TRUTH BUT TAKE SCRIPTURES OUT OF CONTEXT TO MAKE SOME SORT OF BABBLE POINT.

IF YOU DON’T KNOW THAT THIS LIFE IS A TEST FROM GOD FOR THE HEREAFTER, THEN YOU ARE BEYOND LOST IN YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS. IT’S QUIT SIMPLE. GOD ERASED ALL OUR MEMORIES OF HIM AFTER HE DESTROYED THE FIRST EARTH AGE WHEN 1/3 OF HIS ANGELS FOLLOWED THE LIES OF LUCIFER. GOD DESTROYED THE FIRST EARTH AGE ... THEN CREATED THE WORLD AGAIN (WHICH IS THE 2ND EARTH AGE THAT WE LIVE IN TODAY).... ALLOWED ALL SPIRITS TO COME BACK TO EARTH (BEING BORN OF WOMEN) WHICH IS HIS SECOND CHANCE TO EITHER LOVE HIM BY FOLLOWING HIS SPIRITUAL TRUTH (AS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE) OR TO FOLLOW THE LIES OF SATAN AND FRY WITH HIM (SATAN) IN THE ETERNAL FIRES TO BE BLOTTED OUT. ZAPPED, POOF, GONZO.

IT’S YOUR CHOICE DAVID. I SUGGEST YOU CHOOSE WISELY.

      AMEN.
