Prayer and politics: How Friday became the Middle East's day of protest

By Mairi Mackay, CNN

(CNN) - Ever since he was a boy, Friday has been a day of prayer and rest for Murad Alazzany.

Following a rhythm as old as Islam itself, Fridays meant lunchtime prayers at the mosque and relaxing with friends and family for the rest of the day.

But that was before protests and revolutions across the Middle East smashed decades-old regimes and caused unprecedented civil unrest.

Yemen's uprising started in January this year, spurred on by the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions, and since then, Fridays have had a very different flavor for Alazzany and tens of thousands of Yemenis like him.

Alazzany, who is an assistant professor at Sanaa University, still goes to Friday prayers, known as Jumu'ah, but not in a mosque. Instead, he prays in the street alongside fellow activists and anti-government demonstrators.

[43:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

    [43:1] H. M.

    [43:2] And the enlightening scripture.

[43:3] We have rendered it an Arabic Quran, that you may understand.

[43:4] It is preserved with us in the original master, honorable and full of wisdom.

[43:5] Should we just ignore the fact that you have transgressed the limits?
    -----

    Inherited Traditions Condemned

[43:22] The fact is that: they said, "We found our parents carrying on certain practices, and we are following in their footsteps."

[43:23] Invariably, when we sent a warner to any community, the leaders of that community would say, "We found our parents following certain practices, and we will continue in their footsteps."

[43:24] (The messenger) would say, "What if I brought to you better guidance than what you inherited from your parents?" They would say, "We are disbelievers in the message you brought."

[43:25] Consequently, we requited them. Note the consequences for the rejectors.
    ------–

    Invisible, Devilish Companions*

[43:36] Anyone who disregards the message of the Most Gracious, we appoint a devil to be his constant companion.

[43:37] Such companions will divert them from the path, yet make them believe that they are guided.

[43:38] When he comes before us he will say, "Oh I wish you were as far from me as the two easts. What a miserable companion!"

[43:39] It will not console you on that day, as transgressors, that both of you will share in the retribution.
    ------

    God's Messenger of the Covenant

[43:40] Can you make the deaf hear; can you make the blind see, or those who are far astray?

[43:41] Whether we let you die before it or not, we will surely requite them.

[43:42] Or, we may show you (the retribution) we promised for them. We are in full control over them.

[43:43] You shall steadfastly preach what is revealed to you; you are in the right path.

[43:44] This is a message for you and your people; all of you will be questioned.

[43:45] Check the messengers we sent before you: "Have we ever appointed any other gods – beside the Most Gracious – to be worshipped?"
    -------

    Jesus: Another Example

[43:57] When the son of Mary was cited as an example, your people disregarded it.

[43:58] They said, "Is it better to worship our gods, or to worship him?" They said this only to argue with you. Indeed, they are people who have joined the opposition.

[43:59] He was no more than a servant whom we blessed, and we sent him as an example for the Children of Israel.

[43:60] If we willed, we could have made you angels who colonize and reproduce on earth.

Jesus and the End of the World*

[43:61] He is to serve as a marker for knowing the end of the world, so you can no longer harbor any doubt about it. You shall follow Me; this is the right path.

[43:62] Let not the devil repel you; he is your most ardent enemy.

[43:63] When Jesus went with the proofs, he said, "I bring to you wisdom, and to clarify some of the matters in which you dispute. You shall reverence GOD and obey me.

[43:64] "GOD is my Lord and your Lord, you shall worship Him alone. This is the right path."

[43:65] The opponents disputed among themselves. Woe to those who transgress from the retribution of a painful day.

[43:66] Are they waiting for the Hour (Day of Judgment) to come to them suddenly when they least expect it?

[43:67] The close friends on that day will become enemies of one another, except for the righteous.
    -------

    They Hate The Truth

[43:78] "We have given you the truth, but most of you hate the truth."

[43:79] Have they schemed some scheme? We too are scheming.

[43:80] Do they think that we do not hear their secrets and conspiracies? Yes indeed; our messengers are with them, recording.

[43:81] Proclaim: "If the Most Gracious did have a son, I would still be the foremost worshiper."

[43:82] Be He glorified; He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord with the great dominion, far above their claims.

[43:83] Let them blunder and play until they meet their day that is awaiting them.

[43:84] He is the only One who is a deity in the heaven and a deity on earth. He is the Most Wise, the Omniscient.

[43:85] Most Exalted is the One who possesses all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. With Him is the knowledge about the Hour (end of the world), and to Him you will be returned.

[43:86] None of those whom they idolize beside Him possess any power to intercede, unless their intercession coincides with the truth, and they fully know.

[43:87] If you asked them who created them, they would say, "GOD." Why then did they deviate?

[43:88] It will be proclaimed: "O my Lord, these people do not believe."

[43:89] You shall disregard them and say, "Peace;" they will surely find out.

      Jesus the son of Mary s.a.w was ;
-The Miracle and the Spirit of God the Creator of the universe sent on to earth.
-The Guiding Voice of God to the Children of Israel to lighten their burdens they imposed on them selves as to foods and other unnecessary religious practices...
-He was as God on Earth supported by the Holy Spirit (Gabriel) s.a.a for the way he knew of things and the doing of supernatural things known and mentioned about him in the Holy Bibles and the Quran scriptures....
-Upon the death of Jesus God purified and raised him to him to send in some other time to earth to warn that No one other than God the creature of the universe should alone be worshiped,to explain that he was a creation of God but not God nor he was a son therefore will bring justice and peace back to earth all worshipping One God and no one beside him...
Jesus was the best of mercy sent by God to mankind onto earth but was not well treated nor accepted by the children of Israel who scapegoated him as a eternal sin taker.....!?

You Shall Not Make Any Distinction
      Among God's Messengers
[2:285] The messenger has believed in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and so did the believers. They believe in GOD, His angels, His scripture, and His messengers: "We make no distinction among any of His messengers." They say, "We hear, and we obey. Forgive us, our Lord. To You is the ultimate destiny."

[2:286] GOD never burdens a soul beyond its means: to its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. "Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people."

@Muneef, you sound like a good person. But your goodness can never save you because your sin is overwhelming and can be atoned only by the blood of Jesus, the God-Savior. Jesus wouldn't have come to the world if mankind can be redeemed and saved without His death and resurrection. Stop quoting things and sit down and read the Gospels in the Bible. You will know Jesus is God and Savior.

Muneef, Jesus is the only Way for all mankind. Jesus Himself said that no other can save us and that there is no other way. (John ch. 13-17) To deny Jesus as the only Way of salvation means denying everything about Jesus and the entire Bible, because Jesus is the Creator God. Read John ch. 1 and Colossians ch. 1. The man you believe as your prophet respected Jesus. Then read the records of Jesus written by the eyewitnesses while being inspired directly by the Spirit of God.

[7:94] Whenever we sent a prophet to any com-m-unity, we afflicted its people with adversity and hardship, that they may implore.

[7:95] Then we sub-sti-tuted peace and prosperity in place of that hardship. But alas, they turned heedless and said, "It was our parents who experienced that hardship before prosperity." Consequently, we punished them suddenly when they least expected.

[7:96] Had the people of those com-m-unities believed and turned righteous, we would have showered them with blessings from the heaven and the earth. Since they decided to disbelieve, we punished them for what they earned.

[7:97] Did the people of the present com-m-unities guarantee that our retribution will not come to them in the night as they sleep?

[7:98] Did the people of today's com-m-unities guarantee that our retribution will not come to them in the daytime while they play?

[7:99] Have they taken GOD's plans for granted? None takes GOD's plans for granted except the losers.

[7:100] Does it ever occur to those who inherit the earth after previous generations that, if we will, we can punish them for their sins, and seal their hearts, causing them to turn deaf?

[7:101] We narrate to you the history of those com-m-unities: their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe in what they had rejected before. GOD thus seals the hearts of the disbelievers.

[7:102] We found that most of them disregard their covenant; we found most of them wicked.

[7:142] We summoned Moses for thirty* nights, and completed them by adding ten. Thus, the audience with his Lord lasted forty * nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Stay here with my people, maintain righteousness, and do not follow the ways of the corrupters."

[7:143] When Moses came at our appointed time, and his Lord spoke with him, he said, "My Lord, let me look and see You." He said, "You cannot see Me. Look at that mountain; if it stays in its place, then you can see Me." Then, his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, and this caused it to crumble. Moses fell unconscious. When he came to, he said, "Be You glorified. I repent to You, and I am the most convinced believer."

[7:144] He said, "O Moses, I have chosen you, out of all the people, with My messages and by speaking to you. Therefore, take what I have given you and be appreciative."

[7:145] We wrote for him on the tablets all kinds of enlightenments and details of everything: "You shall uphold these teachings strongly, and exhort your people to uphold them – these are the best teachings. I will point out for you the fate of the wicked."

[7:146] I will divert from My revelations those who are arrogant on earth, without justification. Consequently, when they see every kind of proof they will not believe. And when they see the path of guidance they will not adopt it as their path, but when they see the path of straying they will adopt it as their path. This is the consequence of their rejecting our proofs, and being totally heedless thereof.

[7:147] Those who reject our revelations and the meeting of the Hereafter, their works are nullified. Are they requited only for what they committed?

[7:156] "And decree for us righteousness in this world, and in the Hereafter. We have repented to You." He said, "My retribution befalls whomever I will. But My mercy encompasses all things. However, I will specify it for those who (1) lead a righteous life, (2) give the obligatory charity (Zakat), (3) believe in our revelations, and

[7:157] "(4) follow the messenger, the gentile prophet (Muhammad), whom they find written in their Torah and Gospel. He exhorts them to be righteous, enjoins them from evil, allows for them all good food, and prohibits that which is bad, and unloads the burdens and the shackles imposed upon them. Those who believe in him, respect him, support him, and follow the light that came with him are the successful ones."

[7:158] Say, "O people, I am GOD's messenger to all of you. To Him belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except He. He controls life and death." Therefore, you shall believe in GOD and His messenger, the gentile prophet, who believes in GOD and His words. Follow him, that you may be guided.

[7:159] Among the followers of Moses there are those who guide in accordance with the truth, and the truth renders them righteous.

Professor Walter Wagner, a professor of theology, shared his vision of the Quran with Sunday’s Zaman readers.
After carefully reading the Quran and examining it based on his many years of study, a leading American theologian has concluded that via the holy book God is speaking to all human beings around the world, a voice that, in his astonishing book, he said he tried to transmit to readers and students, as well to himself, to deepen his understanding.

Muneef, read the entire Holy Bible. The Holy Trinity is the unmistakable nature of the one true God. You don't need professors who are false. When the Word of God and human scholars disagree, you must choose God's Word because the God's Word alone is the Truth. Honest scholar-ship in any knowledge fields never disagre with the Bible.

Honestly seems I do not understand what is trinity to you and why needed to be a trinity to you? When God is capable of all things as One with out the need to be three of him?!?

@Muneef: God revealed Himself as Trinity in His Word. He doesn't need anything. Just read His entire Word and trust Him. You never read the Bible that's why you insist something other than what God says.

Professor Walter Wagner’s fascinating book “Opening the Qur’an: Introducing Islam’s Holy Book” is definitely a bewildering and inspiring book, not only for the non-Muslim and English-speaking readers, but also Muslim readers. Wagner “opens” the Quran by offering a comprehensive and extraordinarily readable, step-by-step introduction to the text, making it accessible to everyone who is interested in Islam and Islam’s holy book.

      What the koran really teaches:

      Islamic world domination-

      To wit:

o"Mohammed could not have known the size of the world, but several passages in the Koran show that he envisioned Islam dominating all of it, however large it might be: “He it is who sent his messenger . . . that he may cause it [Islam] to prevail over all religions´(Koran 9:33, M.M. Ali; see also 48:28 and 61:9). M.M. Ali designates these three passages as “the prophecy of the ultimate triumph of Islam in the whole world.”

Mohammed’s successors, the caliphs, quoted passages like these to inspire Muslim armies as they advanced out of Arabia, imposing Islam by the sword upon a peacefully unsuspecting Middle East and North Africa, as I described in the previous chapter.

Islamic armies, imbued with what Mohammed claimed was divine authorization, imposed Islam by force over vast areas, all the while extorting wealth from subjugated Jews and Christians to fund their ongoing conquests. As I noted, major defeats at Tours, France, in A.D. 732, and again at Vienna, Austria, in A.D. 1683, halted Islam’s attempt to take all of Europe by force. Gradually Islamic forces were forced to retreat from Europe, except for part of the Balkans. But Islam has again set its sights on a conquest of Europe and of European civilization, wherever the latter has spread to North and South America and other regions. Muslim strategists ask their followers, Why do we find in these modern times that Allah has entrusted most of the world’s oil wealth primarily to Muslim nations?

Their answer: Allah foresaw Islam’s need for funds to finance a final politico-religious victory over what Islam perceives as its ultimate enemy: Christianized Euro-American civilization. So, Islam follows Nazism, fascism and communism as the world’s latest hostile takeover aspirant.

Nazis, fascists and communists failed. Does Islam have a better chance at success? I believe it will flounder if we awaken to its threat in time; yet, if there is not adequate planned resistance, Islam does have a better chance of succeeding. Communism’s world takeover attempt was guaranteed to fail because its economic policy was naively contrary to human nature. Advocating the rubric What is mine is thine, and what is thine is mine, communism failed to see that human nature will not keep those two balanced propositions in equilibrium. Like a female black widow spider consuming her mate, the latter part of the formula makes a meal of the former, leading to the collapse of any system based upon that formula.
In contrast, political systems do well if they can persuade people to adhere to What’s mine is mine and What’s thine is thine maxims.

Only if a strong religious incentive is added does such an idealistic formula have any long-term chance. Even then success will be spotty. But communism (and Nazism, for that matter) excluded religion. And that mistake was the final nail eventually clamping a lid on communism’s coffin. Communism, on a historical scale, perished while still in its childhood.
Islam is not repeating communism’s mistake. Mating political cunning and incredible wealth with religious zeal, Islam does have a chance to succeed and will succeed unless major parts of the Western world unite to take appropriate countermeasures. But many Western leaders, unable to believe that a mere religion could possible be a serious political threat, keep proclaiming themselves as Islam-friendly, reasoning that all religions are good-aren’t they?

A Muslim strategist in Beverly Hills, California, declared several years ago, as quoted by a friend of mine: “Now that the struggle between Western democracies and international communism is winding down, it is time for the real and final struggle to begin, and we are going to win!”

      Reality.
I don't think you would know more than Walter H. Wagner as a adjunct professor of theology?

Wagner first places the prophet Muhammad, the Qur’an, and the early Muslim community in their historical, geographical, and theological contexts. This background is a basis for interpreting the Qur’an and understanding its role in later Muslim developments as well as for relationships between Muslims, Jews, and Christians. He then looks in detail at specific passages, moving from cherished devotional texts to increasingly difficult and provocative subjects. The selected bibliography serves as a resource for further reading and study. Woven into the discussion are references to Islamic beliefs and practices. Wagner shows great sensitivity toward the risks and opportunities for non-Muslims who attempt to interpret the Qur’an, and sympathy in the long struggle to build bridges of mutual trust and honest appreciation between Muslims and non-Muslims.
Walter H. Wagner is adjunct professor of theology at Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary. He is the author of a number of books, including After the Apostles: Christianity in the Second Century.

      14) Lockerbie is known internationally as the site where, on 21 December 1988, the wreckage of Pan Am Flight 103 crashed as a result of a terrorist bomb. In the United Kingdom the event is referred to as the Lockerbie disaster, the Lockerbie bombing, or simply Lockerbie. Eleven townspeople were killed in Sherwood Crescent, where the plane's wings and fuel tanks plummeted in a fiery explosion, destroying several houses and leaving a huge crater, with debris causing damage to a number of buildings nearby. The 270 fatalities (259 on the plane, 11 in Lockerbie) were citizens of 21 nations.

15 The daily suicide and/or roadside and/or mosque bombings in the terror world of Islam.

      16) Bombs sent from Yemen by followers of the koran which fortunately were discovered before the bombs were detonated.

      17) The killing of 58 Christians in a Catholic church in one of the latest acts of horror and terror in Iraq.

      18) Moscow airport suicide bombing: 35 dead, 130 injured. January 25, 2011.

      19) A Pakistani minister, who had said he was getting death threats because of his stance against the country's controversial blasphemy law, was shot and killed Wednesday, 3/2/2011

      20) two American troops killed in Germany by a recently radicalized Muslim, 3/3/2011

      21) the kidnapping and apparent killing of a follower of Zoraster in the dark world of Islamic Pakistan.

      22) Shariatpur, Bangladesh (CNN 3/30/2011) - Hena Akhter's last words to her mother proclaimed her innocence. But it was too late to save the 14-year-old girl. Her fellow villagers in Bangladesh's Shariatpur district had already passed harsh judgment on her. Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment: 101 lashes delivered swiftly, deliberately in public. Hena dropped after 70 and died a week later.

Other elements of our War on Terror and Aggression:

-Operation Iraqi Freedom- The 24/7 Sunni-Shiite centuries-old blood feud currently being carried out in Iraq, US Troops killed in action, 3,481 and 924 died in non-combat, 99,901 – 109,143 Iraqi civilians killed as of 3/3/2011/, mostly due to suicide bombers, http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ and http://www.defenselink.mil/news/casualty.pdf
      – Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan: US troops 1,141 killed in action, 242 killed in non-combat situations as of 03/03/2011. Over 40,000 Afghan civilians killed due to the dark-age, koranic-driven Taliban acts of horror,

      – Sa-dd-am, his sons and major he-nchmen have been deleted. Sa-dd-am's bravado about WMD was one of his major mistakes. Kuwait was saved.

      – Iran is being been contained. (beside containing the Sunni-Shiite civil war in Baghdad, that is the main reason we are in Iraq. And yes, essential oil continues to flow from the region.)

      – North Korea is still u-ncivil but is contained.

      – Northern Ireland is finally at peace.

      – The Jews and Palestinians are being separated by walls. Hopefully the walls will follow the 1948 UN accords. Unfortunately the Annapolis Peace Conference was not successful. And unfortunately the recent events in Gaza has put this situation back to “squ-are one”. And this significant stupidity is driven by the mythical foundations of both religions!!!

      – – Fa-na–tical Islam has basically been contained to the Middle East but a wall between India and Pakistan would be a plus for world peace. Ditto for a wall between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

      – Timothy McVeigh was exe-cuted. Terry Nichols will follow soon.

      – Eric Ru-dolph is spending three life terms in pri-son with no par-ole.

      – Jim Jones, David Koresh, Kaczynski, the "nuns" from Rwanda, and the KKK were all dealt with and either eliminated themselves or are being punished.

      – Islamic Sudan, Dar-fur and So-malia are still terror hot spots.

      – The terror and tor-ture of Muslims in Bosnia, Kosovo and Kuwait were ended by the proper application of the military forces of the USA and her freedom-loving friends. Ra-dovan Karadzic was finally captured on 7/23/08 and is charged with genocide, crimes against humanity and violations of the law of war – charges related to the 1992-1995 civil war that followed Bosnia-Herzegovina's secession from Yugoslavia.

-The capture of Ratko Mladić: (Serbian Cyrillic: Ратко Младић, pronounced [râtkɔ mlǎːditɕ], born 12 March 1943[1][2]) is an accused war criminal and a former Bosnian Serb military leader. On May 31, 2011, Mladić was extradited to The Hague, where he was processed at the detention center that holds suspects for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).[3] His trial began on 3 June 2011.

      – the bloody terror brought about by the Ja-panese, Na-zis and Co-mmunists was with great difficulty eliminated by the good guys.

      – Bin Laden was executed for crimes against humanity on May 1, 2011

      Reality.

If you see it this way and you are American...guess we would like to hear who gave you the right to invade the lands of the Red Indians killing their tribes? Who gave you the right to import buying arab and black slaves in to America since when there is an increase in demand it is meeted with an increase of supply....?
Why play in politics like playing cards and dominos creating all your listed stuff of the near past and present....?
How much of Good and how much of Evil has your tax money has done to the world....are you the best judge of that??

    Now is this true;

    INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT LIBYA

Did you know this about Libya? If not read the following  details.
Some other facts (that mainstream media will never disclose) about
    "Gaddafi and Libya:

Loans to Libyan citizens are given with NO interest.
Students would get paid the average salary for the profession they  are
    studying for.
If you are unable to get employment the state would pay the full salary
as if you were employed until you find employment.

When you get married the couple gets an apartment or house for free  from
    the Government.
You could go to college anywhere in the world. The state pays 2,500
euros   plus accommodation and car allowance.
The cars are sold at factory cost.
Libya does not owe money, (not a cent) to anyone. No creditors.
Free education and health care for all citizens.
25% of the population with a university degree.
No beggers on the streets and nobody is homeless (until the  recent bombing).
Bread costs only $0.15 per loaf.
No wonder the US and other capitalist countries do not like Libya.  Gaddafi
would not consent to taking loans from IMF or World Bank at high interest
rates. In other words Libya was INDEPENDENT! That is the real reason for
the  war in Libya! He may be a dictator, but that is not the US problem. Also
Gaddafi called on all Oil producing countries NOT to accept payment for
oil in USD or Euros. He recommended that oil get paid for in GOLD and  that
would have bankrupted just about every Western Country as most of them do
not have gold reserves to match the rate at which they print their  useless
    currencies.
Remember the last time someone had the "NERVE" to make a similar  statement
was when Saddam Hussein advised all OPEC countries not to accept payment
    for oil in US Dollars.

Well, we all know what happened to him
    Yes, they Hanged HIM.

      The real Gaddafi:

"Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Libya under Gaddafi was considered a pariah state by the Western nations,[10][11] which alleged oppression of internal dissidence, acts of state-sponsored terrorism, assassinations of expatriate opposition leaders, and crass nepotism exhibited in amassing a multi-billion-dollar fortune for himself and his family.[12] Gaddafi was a firm supporter of OAPEC and led a Pan-African campaign for a United States of Africa.[13]

After the 1986 Bombing of Libya and the 1993 imposition of United Nations sanctions, Gaddafi established closer economic and security relations with the West, cooperated with investigations into previous Libyan acts of state-sponsored terrorism and paid compensation, and ended his nuclear weapons program, resulting in the lifting of UN sanctions in 2003."

      Then there was Lockerbie:

Lockerbie is known internationally as the site where, on 21 December 1988, the wreckage of Pan Am Flight 103 crashed as a result of a Libyan terrorist bomb. In the United Kingdom the event is referred to as the Lockerbie disaster, the Lockerbie bombing, or simply Lockerbie. You are right he was trouble maker and supporter, he had his fingers in North Yemen rev-olt wars in the 80's... But the sadness is for the population of Libya...beautiful country and people being wasted for the sake of "The One Man Show's"..!? Populations at such cases become shields or hostages whether they like it or not starve, bleed and die...mass graves for the sake of changing one card player of the global politics card players whom with one statement can cause starvation and death to thousands and millions, so coolly and heartlessly...

Tell you what is has always been proven that it is not the issue of "One Man Show" it has rather proven to be "Ruling Families with a Scape Goat's".....Am sure if any of the Presidents thought to resign they would not be allowed by the families behind the men on charge of ruling&managing the whole country systems...(It is the Blood's who seem to be as heavens one above one in classes)..!?!

Early yesterday some armed men launched an attack on the main electrical power line of our City...although before we used to get few hours of supply during day and night but now for the past 14 hours in total darkness other than those who still pay for diesel, petrol 500% and more of it's official price from the black market but still it will be cheated being mixed either with water or gasoline and used engine oils.... Even candles are found at 500% it's normal cost in the market...all products related to light and power supply has flown up above imaginary prices.... A drum of diesel oil 200ltrs at the rate of $250-$300 by generator offer us 10hours of power supply...!! Crazy specially when the same drum was being bought at less than $50/- few months back...!?

The gifts of Free Will and Future are inherent to all the thinking beings in the Universe. This being the case, it is not possible to alter life with prayers. Statistically, your request might come true but it is simply the result of the variability/randomness of Nature.

So put down your rosaries and prayer beads and stop worshiping/revering cows or bowing to Mecca five times a day. Instead work hard at your job, take care of aging parents, volunteer at a soup kitchen, donate to charities and the poor and continue to follow the proper rules of your religion or any good rules of living as gracious and good human beings.

Well seems that the thinking people realize the supernatural powers "Positive or Negative" that do some times fulfill people wishes for Good or Evil.

Another thing many Muslim individuals are carrying on their worship in a normal manner but those who became part of a groups lead by Imams it depends what type of imam they have if he is moderate and calls for the good being to neighbor of all faiths they will become to be as good but if the imam of extremes comes over few will follow in their will others will be pressurized into it in fear of what it could be do to them or their families if tried to stay away...! Haven't the Zionests done the same thing to Jews to drive them to immigrate to Isreal or to pay dues to support it's being in Palestine....!?

Muslims can pray to Jesus and get saved. They need to read the Bible in order to establish decent democracy. Mimicking the West without it only brings deadly corrosion.

Muneef, nothing is advantegeous if it's not true. The eternal unchangable Word of God declares God to be the Holy Trinity. God is more than the human mind can conceive. Accept the objective divine revelation in the Holy Bible instead of deciding the nature of God in your own mind.

      June 19, 2011 at 9:23 am |
    • Muneef

      Zelda.

It is not me who is doing that nor trying to conceive the looks of God and abilities...what ever words you have used...all am saying is what we been told by the Holy Scriptures of the Quran that God is one and only...therefore where did you come with this Trinity you mentioned of..? Isn't that so called Trinity idea is considered conceiving God...? God being one whether he can divid him self to become Three or a Billion is not our to question or research while is logical to admit to the one and only..with out partnering him with any of the Billion he had divided him self into....!?! Got the idea of being a monotheist...?
The God the Creater is unseen but is every where and has all the so called forces of nature under his domain and word command....!

      June 19, 2011 at 5:33 pm |
    • Zelda

Muneef, God is One, but eternally co-exist in Three Persons, namely God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirt. Christians did not invent the Holy Trinity; it is revealed by God in the Bible, the Word of God. You can't read the Bible without meeting the Triune God. To deny the Trinity is to deny God's Word. We Christians take God at His Word, never limiting Him in the finite human mind.

      Zelda.
Glad to have known what you meant by trinity...and in tears for not understanding why would God make of him self three when he is capable of all things as one...?
Both Jesus and the Holy spirit are from God Spirit....all creatures in the creation such as Angels,Jinns, mankind are created from the spirit of God which are given and taken by God the creator....created only to become as servants of God....

[21:16] We did not create the heavens and the earth, and everything between them just for amusement.

[21:17] If we needed amusement, we could have initiated it without any of this, if that is what we wanted to do.

[21:18] Instead, it is our plan to support the truth against falsehood, in order to defeat it. Woe to you for the utterances you utter.

[21:19] To Him belongs everyone in the heavens and the earth, and those at Him are never too arrogant to worship Him, nor do they ever waver.

[21:20] They glorify night and day, without ever tiring.

[21:21] Have they found gods on earth who can create?

[21:22] If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside GOD, there would have been chaos. Glory be to GOD; the Lord with absolute authority. He is high above their claims.

[21:23] He is never to be asked about anything He does, while all others are questioned.

[21:24] Have they found other gods beside Him? Say, "Show me your proof. This is the message to my generation, consummating all previous messages." Indeed, most of them do not recognize the truth; this is why they are so hostile.

[21:25] We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration: "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."

[21:26] Yet, they said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son!" Glory be to Him. All (messengers) are (His) honored servants.

[21:27] They never speak on their own, and they strictly follow His commands.

[21:28] He knows their future and their past. They do not intercede, except for those already accepted by Him, and they are worried about their own necks.

[21:29] If any of them claims to be a god beside Him, we requite him with Hell; we thus requite the wicked.
      ------

      The Purpose of Our Existence

[51:55] And remind, for the reminder benefits the believers.

[51:56] I did not create the jinns and the humans except to worship Me alone.

[51:57] I need no provisions from them, nor do I need them to feed Me.

[51:58] GOD is the Provider, the Possessor of all power, the Supreme.

[51:59] The transgressors have incurred the same fate as their previous counterparts; they should not challenge.

[51:60] Woe to those who disbelieved from the day that is awaiting them.

What instigated the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon? And what drives today's 24/7 mosque/imam-driven acts of terror and horror? The koran, Mohammed's book of death for all infidels and Muslim domination of the world by any means. Muslims must clean up this book removing said passages admitting that they are based on the Gabriel myth and therefore obviously the hallucinations and/or lies of Mohammed. Then we can talk about the safety and location of mosques and what is taught therein. Until then, no male Muslim can be trusted anytime or anywhere..................................

    Sura – 62 Friday (Al-Jumu`ah)
Order Of Revelation 110, Verses: 11

[62:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

[62:1] Glorifying GOD is everything in the heavens and everything on earth; the King, the Most Sacred, the Almighty, the Most Wise.

[62:2] He is the One who sent to the gentiles a messenger from among them, to recite to them His revelations, purify them, and teach them the scripture and wisdom. Before this, they had gone far astray.

[62:3] And to many generations subsequent to them. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

[62:4] Such is GOD's grace that He bestows upon whomever He wills. GOD is Possessor of Infinite Grace.

[62:5] The example of those who were given the Torah, then failed to uphold it, is like the donkey carrying great works of literature. Miserable indeed is the example of people who rejected GOD's revelations. GOD does not guide the wicked people.

[62:6] Say, "O you who are Jewish, if you claim that you are GOD's chosen, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should long for death if you are truthful!"

[62:7] They will never long for it, because of what they have committed. GOD is fully aware of the wicked.

[62:8] Say, "The death that you are trying to evade will catch up with you sooner or later. Then you will be returned to the Knower of all secrets and declarations, then He will inform you of everything you had done."

    Important Commandments to All Believers

[62:9] O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer (Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of GOD, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew.

[62:10] Once the prayer is completed, you may spread through the land to seek GOD's bounties, and continue to remember GOD frequently, that you may succeed.

[62:11] When some of them come across a business deal, or some entertainment, they rush to it and leave you standing! Say, "What GOD possesses is far better than the entertainment or the business. GOD is the best Provider."

Well already Muslims are being oppressed or exterminated worldwide even in their own secular countries..
Guess then if any had shown any sign of resistance or dismay by groups  then they are considered "Terrorists"?
Tyranny and Poverty worldwide has caused youth in groups to break out to fight for a cause or for the money within it just as Piracy acts at Sea Oceans...

The issue is tyranny,injustice,oppressiosn,unemployments,inflations,hungers,ignorance,poverty...all such elements will raise ressistances whether were Muslims or Cristians or Jews or what so ever...these are the main causes and not that is within the Quran since the Quran only gives you the right to defend self and be in war with the oppressors of any Kind religious or non religious... But since youth are wasted jobless you will always find them seek to work as mercenaries for such groups or any one else that will offer better than these groups...not all are sincere devotees to the cause of belief of right or wrong...

[18:27] You shall recite what is revealed to you of your Lord's scripture. Nothing shall abrogate His words, and you shall not find any other source beside it.

[18:28] You shall force yourself to be with those who worship their Lord day and night, seeking Him alone. Do not turn your eyes away from them, seeking the vanities of this world. Nor shall you obey one whose heart we rendered obl-ivi-ous to our message; one who pursues his own desires, and whose priorities are confused.

[18:29] Proclaim: "This is the truth from your Lord," then whoever wills let him believe, and whoever wills let him disbelieve. We have prepared for the transgressors a fire that will completely surround them. When they scream for help, they will be given a liquid like concent-rated a-cid that sca-lds the faces. What a miserable drink! What a miserable destiny!

[18:30] As for those who believe and lead a righteous life, we never fail to recompense those who work righteousness.

[18:31] They have deserved gardens of Eden wherein rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold, and will wear clothes of green silk and velvet, and will rest on comfortable furnishings. What a wonderful reward; what a wonderful abode!
    ----–

[18:43] No force on earth could have helped him against GOD, nor was it possible for him to receive any help.

[18:44] That is because the only true Lord and master is GOD; He provides the best recompense, and with Him is the best destiny.

[18:45] Cite for them the example of this life as water that we send down from the sky to produce plants of the earth, then they turn into hay that is blown away by the wind. GOD is able to do all things.

[18:46] Money and children are the joys of this life, but the righteous works provide an eternal recompense from your Lord, and a far better hope.

[18:47] The day will come when we wipe out the mountains, and you will see the earth barren. We will summon them all, not leaving out a single one of them.

[18:48] They will be presented before your Lord in a row. You have come to us as individuals, just as we created you initially. Indeed, this is what you claimed will never happen.

[18:49] The record will be shown, and you will see the guilty fearful of its contents. They will say, "Woe to us. How come this book leaves nothing, small or large, without counting it?" They will find everything they had done brought forth. Your Lord is never unjust towards anyone.
    ------

[18:54] We have cited in this Quran every kind of example, but the human being is the most argumentative creature.

[18:55] Nothing prevented the people from believing, when the guidance came to them, and from seeking the forgiveness of their Lord, except that they demanded to see the same (kind of miracles) as the previous generations, or challenged to see the retribution beforehand.

[18:56] We only send the messengers as simply deliverers of good news, as well as warners. Those who disbelieve argue with falsehood to defeat the truth, and they take My proofs and warnings in vain.

[18:57] Who are more evil than those who are reminded of their Lord's proofs, then disregard them, without realizing what they are doing. Consequently, we place shields on their hearts to prevent them from understanding it (the Quran), and deafness in their ears. Thus, no matter what you do to guide them, they can never ever be guided.

[18:58] Yet, your Lord is the Forgiver, full of mercy. If He called them to account for their deeds, He would annihilate them right there and then. Instead, He gives them a respite until a specific, predetermined time; then they can never escape.

[18:59] Many a com-m-unity we annihilated because of their transgressions; we designated a specific time for their annihilation.
    ------

[18:100] We will present Hell, on that day, to the disbelievers.

[18:101] They are the ones whose eyes were too veiled to see My message. Nor could they hear.

[18:102] Do those who disbelieve think that they can get away with setting up My servants as gods beside Me? We have prepared for the disbelievers Hell as an eternal abode.

[18:103] Say, "Shall I tell you who the worst losers are?

[18:104] "They are the ones whose works in this life are totally astray, but they think that they are doing good."

[18:105] Such are the ones who disbelieved in the revelations of their Lord and in meeting Him. Therefore, their works are in vain; on the Day of Resurrection, they have no weight.

[18:106] Their just requital is Hell, in return for their disbelief, and for mocking My revelations and My messengers.

[18:107] As for those who believe and lead a righteous life, they have deserved a blissful Paradise as their abode.

[18:108] Forever they abide therein; they will never want any other sub-sti-tute.

[18:109] Say, "If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply."

[18:110] Say, "I am no more than a human like you, being inspired that your god is one god. Those who hope to meet their Lord shall work righteousness, and never worship any other god beside his Lord."

Muslims can pray all they want, it will not change what is really needed with respect to Islam.

    To wit.

Conditions of prisons in the Middle East should be revealed. There must be a lot of prisoners of conscience.

      Zelda.

You mean local prisoners of normal crimes or political issues...or did you mean the international prisoners that are handed over by America and Europe to the middle east authorities to imprison or torture for questioning?

That is not him but rather some one else...beside we are proud of our president as a ruler...and he does not deserve the humiliation they are doing to him...the youth went out asking for changes and developments but few wolves financed by some rich countries have taken advantage of that to take the presidency by force...and worst of all they blew him and close gvt bodies at Friday at Prayer,Blowing the Mosque "A house of lord on earth" above all during Month of Rajab which is considered a month of Haram Months...
So see the sample of people the world would get if presidency goes by force to them....the best thing is that he comes back with full western support to maintain security and do all the legitimate changes that the youth demand, preparing for the next hand over upon ending of his ruling time otherwise this area will become a dangerous place as it is Somalia and worse....

May God save him and grant him the best of health and wisdom and enable him to correct what has to be corrected (Justice is the base of all Rules)...Amen.

What a terrible feeling, only now I know why all those immigrated from their countries to the west ? Although against their will but still rejected and humiliated in being in a country that is not theirs nor it accepts their way of life (Religion).... Hope no day comes that would force me to leave my country and beloved family and friends to a foreign land and people...
