My Take: Linsanity vs. Tebowmania, key similarities and differences

Is the New York Knicks’ point guard Jeremy Lin the NBA’s answer to Tim Tebow? Let me count the ways.

First, Lin was underestimated throughout his career. The knock has been that Tebow couldn’t throw. The knock on Lin had been that he wasn’t particularly athletic.

Although he led Palo Alto High School to a state championship in basketball, major college programs did not want Lin. And after he blew away the competition at Harvard, the NBA didn’t seem particularly interested either. Undrafted, he warmed the bench at Golden State, then Houston and then New York before getting his big break this year with the Knicks.

(CNN) - Even with a superstar memorialized and a Beach Boys reunion, it was a confusing high church sendup, complete with exorcisms, that stole the show at Sunday night's Grammy Awards.

When Nicki Minaj walked the red carpet in a red shawl that harkened back to Little Red Riding Hood, along with a man dressed as the pope in a white cassock and pointed white miter hat, it was a foreshadowing of what was to come on the stage at the Staples Center for the 54th Grammys.

Catholic parishioners voice different opinions on contraception controversy

Washington (CNN) – As the fight between the White House and Catholic bishops over contraception coverage continues, parishioners attending Mass on Sunday appeared to be divided over which side to support.

“I feel people should have a choice. And, that’s where I stand, even though it might be contradictory” to Catholic teaching, said Ron Kramer as he left an 8 a,m. mass with his wife at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Washington.

James Class, leaving the same Mass with his young family, disagreed.
