God wants our worship and love it seems.
But he only appears to us in our dreams.
You can pray for his help, but don’t hold your breath.
For his plan for you is your inevitable death.
They claim if you believe, you’re heaven bound.
But a witness for this has never been found.
No guarantees for this claim, now THAT’s a sin.
So don’t take the bait and get hooked and reeled in.

This is my experience... Thank you.

    MY personal testimony.
A thought to consider without an ego response

I Accepted Jesus christ as my lord and saviour. You never know how soon is too late. Transcend the worldly illusion of enslavement.
    The world denounces truth....

Accepting Jesus Christ (for me) resulted in something like seeng a new colour. You will see it .....but will not be able to clearly explain it to anyone else..... Its meant to be that way to transend any selfism within you.

Also... much the world arranges "surrounding dark matter into something to be debated" in such a way that protects/inflates the ego.

The key is be present and transcend our own desire to physically see evidence. We don't know anyways by defending our own perception of dark matter.

Currently.... most of us are constructing our own path that suits our sin lifestyle. Were all sinners. Knowing that we are is often an issue. But both christians and non are sinners. Even once we are saved by christs merciful grace we will still experience adversity to mold us to adhering to the truth.
We will slip... But not fall of the ship ...carrying us onward to perfection in christs grace.

We don't like to Let go and let god. We want control to some degree. This is what Jesus asks us to do. "Follow me".
It's the hardest thing to do... but is done by letting the truth of scripture lead you (redemptive revelation)... as I said .

Try reading corinthians and see if it makes sense to you. Try it without a pre conceived notion of it being a fairy tale.
    See the truth...
do we do what it says in todays society... is it relevant... so many have not recently read and only hinge their philosophy on what they have heard from some other person...which may have been full of arogance pride or vanity..

Look closely at the economy ponzi, look at how society idolizes Lust , greed , envy, sloth, pride of life, desire for knowledge, desire for power, desire for revencge, gluttony with food etc .

    Trancsend the temporal world.

Just think if you can find any truth you can take with you ....in any of these things. When you die your riches go to someone who will spend away your life..... You will be forgotten.... history will repeat iteslf.... the greatest minds knowledge fade or are eventually plagerzed..... your good deeds will be forgotten and only give you a fleeting temporary reward . your learned teachings are forgotten or mutated..... your gold is transfered back to the rullers that rule you through deception. Your grave will grow over . This is truth .

Trancsend your egoism and free yourself from this dominion of satan. Understand you are a sinner and part of the collective problem of this worldly matrix... Repent.... Repent means knowing (to change) The Holy spirit (within) will convict you beyond what you think you can do by yourself. Grace is given to those who renounce the world. That are" in" the world but not "of " the world.

Evidence follows faith. Faith does not follow evidence..... Faith ....above reason in Jesus Christ.

Faith comes by Reading or Hearing the word of god from the bible . Ask Jesus in faith for dicernment and start reading the new testament... You will be shocked when you lay down your preconceived notions and ....see and hear truth ... see how christ sets an example ... feel the truth....

Read Ecclesiastes. Read romans or corinthians.

You cant trancend your own egoism by adapting a world philosophy to suit your needs. Seek the truth in Christ.

Sell all your cleverness and purchase true bewilderment. You don't get what you want ....you get what you are by faith above reason in christ.

I promise this has been the truth for me. In Jesus christ .

Think of what you really have to lose. ...your ego?

Break the Matrix of illusion that holds your senses captive.

once you do . you too will have the wisdom of God that comes only through the Holy Spirit. Saved By grace through Faith. Just like seeing a new colour.... can't explain it to a transient caught in the matrix of worldly deception.
You will also see how the world suppresses this information and distorts it

You're all smart people . I tell the truth. Its hard to think out of the box when earthly thinking is the box.
I'ts a personal free experience you can do it free anytime . Don't wait till you are about to die.. START PUTTING YOUR TREASURES WHERE THEY REALLY MATTER >
Its awsome and It's just between you and Jesus

    my testimony

    Romans 10:9

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved

    • Really?

I'm honestly, genuinely concerned about you. When you say, "Transcend the worldly illusion of enslavement" it sounds almost as though you believe that you transcended all non-believers and look down upon those who haven’t “Accepted Jesus Christ”. This sort of thinking is exactly how the majority of serial killers and madmen are born.

They first separate themselves from everyone else and begin to think of themselves as better than humanity (hence sheep for the slaughter). Murderers have often said that "God" willed them to kill, to rid the world of "Evil". Which all started with the simple belief that they had "transcended" mankind.

Look at countless examples in the past, where religion was used to kill and enslave. The Egyptians used it on the Jews, the Europeans used it to name kings and take land (Holy Crusades), the Nazi's used it to justify their actions, even the KKK believed they were sent by “God”. Time and time again religion has been weaponized and used as an excuse to justify one's actions (Westborough Baptist church being one).

I know what you’re thinking “I’m not a bad person, how could this possibly affect me?” The truth is that sort of thinking, where you look down on everyone who doesn’t believe in the same thing that you do, is quite possibly the most dangerous ideal mankind ever created. That sort of thinking is what causes genocides and wars.

I noticed that you said “society idolizes lust , greed , envy, sloth, pride of life, desire for knowledge, desire for power, desire for revencge, gluttony with food etc “ followed by “Transcend the temporal world.” I assume you were implying that the only way to better the world, is to embrace your “God”. This very same “God” which the KKK worship, was the motivation for the holocaust (10 million people died) and caused the holy crusades (which killed approx. 1.5 million people).

Have you ever once thought, “maybe religion isn’t the best way to ‘save’ the world, but maybe through acts of kindness and acceptance that I could make a difference”? Seeing as forcing one’s beliefs on another seemed to work so well in the past.

Also, I fail to see how this has anything to do with the Aurora shootings. Please stop preying upon tragedies and using them as a chance to enforce your beliefs.

"Evidence follows faith. Faith does not follow evidence..... Faith ....above reason in Jesus Christ."

Is this like putting of Christ-colored glasses and then seeing God everywhere? You know that seeing everything through rose-colored glass was meant to illustrate how the tinted French glass altered the way reality looked, right? If you believe that God is everywhere then, of course, you will see God everywhere. That's how delusion works, my dear.

With all God's ability to create universes, and to affect the most minute course of events, he just sat there and watched it happen and did nothing about it.

The simplest answer is that God doesn't exist.

He watches some dispassionately and he gets involved in other cases, making miracles and signs, supposedly. It's just luck, apparently, whether you get the non-interfering God, or the interfering one when trouble finds you.

The Aurora shooting is just the tip of the iceberg of horrors here on our planet... We are talking about thousands of children dying everyday, everyday in the tens of thousands... The horror and suffering is beyond imagination. Obviously there is no god.. or god is a monster.

Probably sitting up there flicking his god bean like he's always doing. He doesn't mind helping you find your car keys or helping your football team win the superbowl, but when mass murder is involved, he's nowhere to be seen.

There are no gods, there are no miracles, and prayer does absolutely nothing.

Live a good life, be happy, and don’t live under the yoke of religion.

If prayer is a way of effectively tapping into your own inner strength then it does do something positive. What doesn't seem either likely, or logical is that it summons the power of some supernatural force to bend reality to your will.

Anybody who takes 2 minutes to think about it critically will notice how blatantly obvious it is that there is no god. all this nonsense about "this is what happens when we abandon god" can be shown to be a false assertion. just look at all the secular countries in Europe, they tend to be the happiest, most peaceful countries in the world.

Open your eyes!! Look at creation, and see the engineering of life, the human brain and eye! Look at the wonderful artwork of the pinecone, the flowers, and then wake up the the truth that the Almighty God created it and you.

Then tell me if God did not create all this, why is murder right or wrong? Wouldn't this simply be part of natural selection?

      July 30, 2012 at 5:47 pm |
    • Confused face

leo, god then also created Aids, cancer, birth defects and natural disasters. I condm him. Although he doesn't exist so that is an empty exercise.

Now, which god exactly are you talking about?

      July 30, 2012 at 7:40 pm |
    • Cq

The human eye is built upside down and with a major blind spot, and our brains are easily fooled by the simplest of illusions, by hallucinogenics and trauma. It is very unreliable.

Murder is wrong for the same reason why most other species don't kill their own kind: It's bad for genetics and it's bad for social unity. Of course, when our genetics are threatened, as in the case of someone trying to harm a family member, or in the case of someone threatening our social group, or country, even the most devout Christian may opt to defend with deadly force, or support the death penalty, and going to war. See how it works?

Where was GOD? that's a good question. Where do you think He would be, when He was kicked out of the school and churches, out of everything and places, but when a tradegy happen just as this one has. We ask where is GOD. Just where He has always been. Think about it.

    July 30, 2012 at 3:19 pm |

Nobody "kicked god out" of anywhere, nitwit. If there's no way to measure if god is or isn't in the room, then it's merely following the rules in the const.itution that say that THE PEOPLE in the room can't promote one IDEA of a deity over any other IDEA of another deity. Let me guess, you'd be in favor of "kicking Allah out" of the government and classrooms if Islam/Allah was being promoted in the government and classrooms in the US?

So...you're saying we're more powerful than god? Not having prayer in school, not having the 10 commandments in courtrooms scared him away?

That doesn't sound very godlike. It sounds like a tantrum.

What happened in that theater was extremely tragic, it makes me ask why anyone would want to do something so hateful regardless of their belief system. Suicidal/homicidal urges? Sadly there is so much hate and tragedy in our world regardless of people's beliefs; atheist, religious, or agnostic. I don't believe that being religious prevents people from making mistakes or that being atheist makes people non-hypocritical. "Progress" brought us the secular regimes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot that persecuted "internal enemies" for religious, political, and intellectual views and killed about 98 Million of their own people. Our love of technology is easy to understand but on the flip side nuclear\biological weapons make it easier harm more people than ever before. Anyone can mock another's sincere beliefs and belief system. What we call "empirical science" (related to our senses) may be part of human consciousnesses just like spirituality (related to hopes); I know that I have both.

"Progress" brought us the secular regimes of Hitler"

      NO, NO, NO!!!!

Hitler was Christian. He murdered atheists, non-christians, and g ays.

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow my self to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice… And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows . For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people."

Germany and Russia were supposedly Christian nations, but that didn't stop them from doing what they did.

Why is it that when atheism comes up, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc are brought up as typical, but that when we remind Christians of all the vile things that have been done in the name of God and Jesus Christ, those are exceptions? Funny how that works, isn't it?

Children, children O' blind children of earth and water! Our One and only true God counsciously was and is everywhere in recognition of humanities actions and inactions. God saw it coming; God saw it occur; God saw the effects of the suffering.

In the experience of: "in the flesh", his Son's and the Father as One now have full understanding of what? We the created Ones experience as humans. Our suffering is fully experienced with the creator of the ALL.

It's us humans, it's us that have done and have failed to do–what we are capable of to fulfill.

We generally care to little; we do not all we should do, and we did not do it in Aroura, Colorado or before 9/11.

In Aroura, it was not to SECURE a theater door! Fully within our human ability! Homeland security money unspent or wrongly spent. Religious leaders failing the communities of America by not demanding all set the highest standard of Gods reasonable expectation of God's beloved created Ones on earth. Do it; or lose it to destruction, death and chaos. Ask Europe and Asia.

But we can credit God when the skill of people like surgeons and firemen prevent tragedy, right? Trouble hits, not God's fault, but when things work out, we have him to thank. If it were a human being credited in this way we'd be saying that he was only accepting half of his responsibility. Funny how God gets a free pass on this by his fans.

we are quick to ask, "where was God?!"when something bad happens but never stay busy talking to God until something bad happens. You would never ask someone you never talk to, "Where were you?!" so why would you ask God that question? you should be asking, "Did the survivors have faith? Did the dead have a second to pray before they died? Did anyone pray for safety? Did anyone pray when they woke up in the morning, before they went to bed? During the day?! Being God's friend means having constant contact and that's how as a believer know that there is a God because I see the answers in my daily communication with Him.

you are insane. you don't like the question "where was god?" because in a tragedy like this, it begs the only logical answer - there is no god.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
      Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
      Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
      Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
      Then why call him God?

Skim through the 10,000 responses to the original story any you'll see plenty of folks all claiming that the victims are presently now in heaven. No offence to the dead, but they claimed this about them with no mention of whether these people had been "saved" Christians prior to dying and destined to heaven according to the popular belief. So, if murder victims get a free pass despite whether they had personally gained salvation prior to dying then plenty of mobsters and career criminals who were also murdered are now in heaven too. Sounds like a great place.

Yes, Christians love God and Jesus, Muslims love Muhammad, and so on. Reminds me of Percy Sledge's song
When A Man Loves A Woman. Just subst.itute "God", "Jesus", "Muhammad" or what have you for "woman" and it still works. Like so:

      When a man loves God
Can't keep his mind on nothing else
      He'll trade the world
For the good thing he's found
If God's bad he can't see it
      God can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
      If he put God down

      When a man loves God
      Spend his very last dime
Tryin' to hold on to what he needs
He'd give up all his comfort
      Sleep out in the rain
If God said that's the way it ought to be

      Well, this man loves God
I gave God everything I had
Tryin' to hold on to Your precious love
Lord, please don't treat me bad

      When a man loves God
      Down deep in his soul
God can bring him such misery
If God plays him for a fool
He's the last one to know
      Lovin' eyes can't ever see

      When a man loves God
      He can do no wrong
He can never own some other belief
Yes when a man loves God
I know exactly how he feels
'Cause Lord, Lord, Lord, you're my world

      When a man loves God.....

Think of how his gun jammed. Think with all those people there that just 12 were killed. God can't prevent evil in those that accept evil and let it in. It is very emotional and sad for those who lost loved ones. Think of how booby trapped his apartment was and how that woman almost opened the door but didn't. God was there.

So your god allowed twelve people to die before he decided to step in and stop the killing? Gee, why? What an azzhole.

So by your thinking, those 12 people are not special enough for god to save them? What kind of logic is that?

think of 12 people dying. think of 58 more getting injured/wounded. yeah, god was there. and he did a terrible job protecting people considering he's supposed to be omnipotent.

Why didn't your sky fairy just kill this guy at birth? He could have wound up as a stain on his mother's sheets, but that didn't happen. Yet, he let ALL of that happen, just to jam his weapon after killing a dozen people and wonding almost 5 times that amount? Yeah, that makes sense. Nice god you have. Is this the same god that flooded the entire planet when he was in a bad mood?

Lots of store clerks, home owners soldiers and cops have lost their lives due to their guns jamming at the wrong time. Was God responsible for those too?

Jesus liked violence. Especially rich violent people. "But one who has a money bag should take it, and likewise a sack, and one who does not have a sword should sell his cloak and buy one". (Luke 22:36)

The question is asked and gets so much traction because it can be asked. There's no obvious answer. From my viewpoint (atheist) god's tangible absence confirms that he does not exist or does not care about human affairs. This instance, like all others, does not provide any reason whatsoever to believe in a god who concerns itself with human desires or thoughts toward him.

Actually, God was there, but, he allowed the shooter to not believe in Him, since the shooter obviously denied Jesusl. Same with everyone. He obliges all of us what we want. If folks don't believe, He ensures you get your wish of not believing. If folks want to believe, they seek after Him to find His truth.

God is angry with us everyday because we don't seek His truth. Meaning, we don't read our bibles (His blueprint to us) to learn what He wants for us and what He wants from us. He wants our Love. That's it. Sadly, most in this country are not only not giving Him love, they don't even think about Him or that he's real. For all others who think they believe they listen to preachers telling them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

      2 Timothy 4:3-4

      3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Since HS is bible quote dumping on us again, let's have a look at what's really in her nasty book. Fine stuff like this, that her "loving" god wants you to do:

      Numbers 31:17-18
17 Now kiII all the boys. And kiII every woman who has slept with a man,
18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

Deuteronomy 13:6 – “If your brother, your mother’s son or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul entice you secretly, saying, let us go and serve other gods … you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death”

Revelations 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Note that the bible is also very clear that you should sacrifice and burn an animal today because the smell makes sicko Christian sky fairy happy. No, you don't get to use the parts for food. You burn them, a complete waste of the poor animal.

Yes, the bible really says that, everyone. Yes, it's in Leviticus, look it up. Yes, Jesus purportedly said that the OT commands still apply. No exceptions. But even if you think the OT was god's mistaken first go around, you have to ask why a perfect, loving enti-ty would ever put such horrid instructions in there. If you think rationally at all, that is.

And then, if you disagree with my interpretation, ask yourself how it is that your "god" couldn't come up with a better way to communicate than a book that is so readily subject to so many interpretations and to being taken "out of context", and has so many mistakes in it. Pretty pathetic god that you've made for yourself.

So get out your sacrificial knife or your nasty sky creature will torture you eternally. Or just take a closer look at your foolish supersti-tions, understand that they are just silly, and toss them into the dustbin with all the rest of the gods that man has created.

HS, please, stop referencing that Christian book of nasty, AKA the bible, as a guide to, well, anything.

Ask the questions. Break the chains. Join the movement. Be free of Christianity and other superstitions.

Oh wait. I just realized I posted some real nonsense. If god is eternal, that means he is/was eternally angry.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

"he allowed the shooter to not believe in Him, since the shooter obviously denied Jesusl."
If you're implying that only believing in Jesus keeps people from murdering please explain why our prisons aren't full of murderers from other religions, or atheists?
