Editor’s note: The new documentary "Hellbound?" explores Americans' ideas about hell. We asked two prominent Christians who featured in the film to give us their very different takes on hell.
My Faith: The dangerous effects of believing in hell
Editor’s note: Frank Schaeffer is a New York Times bestselling author. His latest book is "Crazy For God."
By Frank Schaeffer, Special to CNN
Is it any coincidence that the latest war of religion that started on September 11, 2001, is being fought primarily between the United States and the Islamic world? It just so happens that no subgroups of humanity are more ingrained with the doctrine of hell than conservative Muslims and conservative Christians.
And nowhere on earth have conservative Christians been closer to controlling foreign policy than here in the United States. And nowhere on earth have conservative Muslims been more dominant than in the countries from which the 9/11 extremists originated – Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.
What a pair George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden made! On the one hand, an American president who was a born-again evangelical with a special "heart" for the state of Israel and its importance to the so-called end times, and on the other hand a terrorist leader who believed that he was serving God by ridding the Arabian Peninsula of an American presence and cleansing the "defiled" land of Palestine of what he believed were “invader Jews.”
Follow the CNN Belief Blog on Twitter
So whether you're an atheist or not, the issue of who's going to hell or not matters because there are a lot of folks on this planet – many of them extraordinarily well-armed - from born-again American military personnel to Muslim fanatics, who seriously believe that God smiles upon them when they send their enemies to hell.
And so my view of "hell" encompasses two things: First, the theological question about whether a land of eternal suffering exists as God's "great plan" for most of humanity.
Second, the question of the political implications of having a huge chunk of humanity believe in damnation for those who disagree with their theology, politics and culture, as if somehow simply killing one's enemies is not enough.
What most people don't know is that there's another thread running through both Christianity and Islam that is far more merciful than the fundamentalists’ take on salvation, judgment and damnation.
CNN’s Belief Blog: The faith angles behind the biggest stories
Paradise, which Muslims believe is the final destination of the society of God’s choice, is referred to in the Quran as "the home of peace"
“Our God,” Muslims are asked to recite, “You are peace, and peace is from You.”
Since Christianity is my tradition, I can say more about it. One view of God - the more fundamentalist view - is of a retributive God just itching to punish those who "stray."
The other equally ancient view, going right back into the New Testament era, is of an all-forgiving God who in the person of Jesus Christ ended the era of scapegoat sacrifice, retribution and punishment forever.
As Jesus said on the cross: "Forgive them for they know not what they do."
That redemptive view holds that far from God being a retributive God seeking justice, God is a merciful father who loves all his children equally. This is the less-known view today because fundamentalists - through televangelists and others - have been so loud and dominant in North American culture.
But for all that, this redemptive view is no less real.
Why does our view of hell matter? Because believers in hell believe in revenge. And according to brain chemistry studies, taking revenge and nurturing resentment is a major source of life-destroying stress.
For a profound exploration of the madness caused by embracing the “justice” of “godly” revenge and retribution, watch the film “Hellbound?”
The film shows how the "hell" of revenge thinking, and the resulting unhinging of some people’s brains through their denial of human empathy, leads them to relish the violent future of suffering that they predict awaits the “lost” in hell.
Do we really want to go back to a time of literalistic religion. Wasn’t 9/11 enough of an argument against retributive religion?
We need “hell” like a hole in the head. It’s time for the alternative of empathetic merciful religion to be understood.
The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of Frank Schaeffer.
My Faith: Hell is for real and Jesus is the only way out
Editor's Note: Mark Driscoll is founding pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle.
By Mark Driscoll, Special to CNN
As a pastor, my job is to tell the truth. Your job is to make a decision.
When controversies over biblical doctrines arise, it’s a humbling opportunity to answer questions about what the Bible teaches without getting into name-calling and mudslinging. Near the very top of the controversial doctrines is hell.
What happens when we die?
Human beings were created by God with both a physical body and a spiritual soul. When someone dies, their body goes into the grave and their spirit goes into an afterlife to face judgment.
But death is not normal or natural—it’s an enemy and the consequence of sin.
Think of it in this way: God is the source of life. When we choose to live independently of God and rebelliously against God it is akin to unplugging something from its power source. It begins to lose power until it eventually dies.
The Bible is clear that one day there will be a bodily resurrection for everyone, to either eternal salvation in heaven or eternal condemnation in hell.
Christians believe a person’s eternal status depends on their relationship with Jesus and that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Our lives are shaped by the reality that “whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
What does Jesus say about hell?
Jesus was emphatically clear on the subject of hell. He alone has risen from death and knows what awaits us on the other side of this life. A day of judgment is coming when all of us — even you — will rise from our graves and stand before him for eternal sentencing to either worshiping in his kingdom or suffering in his hell.
The Bible could not be clearer: “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
These are not just obscure Bible verses. In fact, Jesus talks about hell more than anyone else in Scripture. Amazingly, 13% of his sayings are about hell and judgment, and more than half of his parables relate to the eternal judgment of sinners.
Keep in mind that Jesus’ words come in the context of the rest of Scripture, which says that God “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Furthermore, he “is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
God is far more loving, kind and patient with his enemies than we are with our enemies.
What does the rest of the Bible say about hell?
The Bible gives us many descriptions of hell including (1) fire; (2) darkness; (3) punishment; (4) exclusion from God’s presence; (5) restlessness; (6) second death; and (7) weeping and gnashing of teeth in agony.
A common misperception of Satan is that he’s in a red suit, holding a pitchfork at the gates of hell. But Satan will not[j1] reign there. Hell is a place of punishment that God prepared for the devil and his angels, and it’s where those who live apart from God will, according to Revelation:
. . . drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb [Jesus Christ]. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night.
At the end of the age, the devil will be “thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
Hell will be ruled over by Jesus, and everyone present — humans and demons and Satan alike — will be tormented there continually in perfect justice.
Jesus says, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. ... And these will go away into eternal punishment.”
Is there a second chance after death?
The Bible is clear that we die once and are then judged without any second chance at salvation. As one clear example, Hebrews 9:27 says, “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”
We live. We die. We face judgment. Period.
How long does the punishment last?
Some argue that the punishment of sinners is not eternal, a view called annihilationism. This means that after someone dies apart from Jesus, they suffer for a while and then simply cease to exist.
Annihilationism is simply not what the Bible teaches. Daniel 12:2 says, “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” Jesus speaks of those who “will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Grammatically, there is no difference here between the length of time mentioned for “life” and that for “punishment”; rather, there is simply eternal life and eternal death.
Am I going to hell?
The good news is that the closing verses of the Bible say, “Come!” Everyone is invited to receive the free gift of God’s saving grace in Jesus. Jesus is God become a man to reconcile mankind to God.
He lived the sinless life we have not lived, died a substitutionary death on the cross for our sins. He endured our wrath, rose to conquer our enemies of sin and death, and ascended to heaven where he is ruling as Lord over all today. He did this all in love.
The stark reality is this: either Jesus suffered for your sins to rescue you from hell, or you will suffer for your sins in hell. These are the only two options and you have an eternal decision to make.
My hope and prayer is that you would become a Christian.
Have you confessed your sins to Jesus Christ, seeking forgiveness and salvation?
If not, you are hellbound, and there is no clever scholar who will be of any help when you stand before Jesus Christ for judgment. You’re not required to like hell as much as you need to believe in it, turn from your sin, trust in Jesus, and be saved from an eternal death into an eternal life.
The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of Mark Driscoll.
You tell the truth???? We make the choice? Well, you’re half right. We do have the choice to be good, loving human beings or believe in your god (deliberately in lower case). I choose to be a good person, and be good to all people. The hate (aka: god) that you preach has no place in this.
Good and bad are not the issue in eternity. You cannot be good enough to warrant heaven or bad enough to be kept out. Heaven is not an earned reward it is the gift of God through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Hell is entered by rejecting Gods grace and accepting justice instead.
Which of the many gods are you refering too? If I and the other 5 billion people that reject the grace of your christian style of god, who doesn't even exist, we are to go to a none existant hell in your view?
@[un]truth be told
"Good and bad are not the issue in eternity....Hell is entered by rejecting Gods grace and accepting justice instead."
How do you define "grace" in this context? "Favor or goodwill?" Is it graceful to torture people who don't even know/believe you exist?
I believe God exists in the minds of humans. And the story about the God creating and destroying a magical person to show it's gracefulness. That is also in the minds of humans. Though I do believe some people are graceful, even some with God in their head. Does that count?
Hey Floyd you're right (that you have the choice to be good).
The problem is you don't have the power.
You think you're good but you're sizing yourself up against everyone around you in a corrupted society instead of judging yourself by a standard of perfection.
Have you ever lied? then you're a liar. Ever taken something that doesn't belong to you? you're a thief. Ever look at someone with lust? you're an adulterer at heart.
Jesus said to the self righteous hypocrites of His day who lived an outwardly good life, "“Woe to you...hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness."
If you continue to deny God and Jesus who is the only hope of salvation, than it matters not how good you think you are. Heaven is God's and he won't let in anyone who dies in their sins.
Your screen name reveal to me that you know nothing about Christianity.
There is no such thing as a former Christian.
If you had a nominal profession of Christianity and now deny it, that proves that you never knew Jesus in the first place.
"On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" Matthew 7:22, 23.
"There is no such thing as a former Christian."
So you deny that I exist....
I was a born again Christian. I went to a Southern Baptist Church, and tried to convert my friends and convince them that Catholics were not real Christians. I would have said the same comment as you.... But it's not true. There are Former Christians, former Muslims, former Mormons ... Usually your childhood religion is the same as your parents. People can change their minds though....
I urge you to really read the Bible. If you really read it, eventually you will notice that it is just a collection of stories. You may realize as I did, that the mythology is not really different from other mythology, and that there is no logical reason to believe any of it.
Many non-religious people I know, were Christians. Yes, you can leave.
Many of us posting are former Christians, you would have loved me in my youth but then I really read the bible with an open mind, did some research and came to the conclusion, it's all myth.
The only reason you left Christianity is because you have a resentment....a selfish resentment
"Catholics were not real Christians"??? Your definition of Christianity must be flawed as Catholics are the original Christians.
Our Church was founded by Jesus Christ, who started yours?
Hell?... Really?...Is this really 2012 and we are debating about the existence of Hell? Jesus H. Christ!
Right on the money Andrew! We absolutely must rid ourselves of this religious BS. Religions, all of them, should be outlawed. All religions are frauds and by definition, fraud is criminal. The pope knows for certain that there is no god. How does he know you might ask. He knows because he has never heard even a single peep out of the big guy and he's supposed to have a direct line to him. It certainly would be cool if the pope declared that it was all a lie. That could be our true salvation.
This is the year 2012. Last century we saw the stunning effects of a modernistic world that had largely imbibed the concept that religion is the opiate of the people, and under the rule of Stalin alone roughly 45 million people in the Soviet Union were killed via torture, the results (starvation or execution) of imprisonment, and such. Not only this, Hitler was also opposed to "true" religion. He used the churches to his own ends (those who would kneel to his abhorrent rule), but not all did. He was a "god" if you want to say it that way. Quite a god! The majority of the "cults of personality" that exist in the world today come out of the atheistic thrashing of the Soviet Union–from Saparmurat Niyazov in Turkmenistan to the Kims in North Korea. I do not believe that "religions" have a clean record. By no means... As a Christian, I regret the black mark of the Crusades and of the Religious wars of the Middle Ages, to name only two. There isn't space enough to discuss the matter. But, be a little more wary to simply dismiss "religion". The majority of people throughout time have not. There is a God-sized hole in our hearts, as Augustine put it, and we must have it filled. Jesus says some pretty clear things about His being God, but He didn't use His place to manipulate or deceive us, rather to serve us (read Philippians 2:4-8). You may have heard this, but there is a difference between mere religious acts and a relationship with a God who is alive whom we can know in Jesus Christ.
Whatever the case, I hope you have a good coming week. Maybe we'll meet someday.
No, we're not debating it at all. It's a known fact. Just ask the guy in Luke 16.
That's forward thinking : ) Deny people their rights and beliefs. What if it was outlawed that you couldn't deny God? That is just as wicked as what you're saying. This country was founded primarily to escape religious persecution. It wasn't to have lower taxes and get more land (primarily).
avdbrg appears to be another brain dead holier than thou who is intent on forcing their religion based on myth, fantasy and fiction on the rest of us. I find that basing ones morality and social interaction on the musings of second century goat herders rather absurd.
One can create an inner hell by the path they choose.
A person, in tune, with what is around them, has the ability to learn the wisdom not to judge.
Judging is helpful :) Without it there would be no law. People would not have morals. Without it my kids would end up drug addicts living on welfare. The bible never said, "Don't judge ever." The bible said that with the measure that one judges it will be used back against them. Everyone is on an equal playing field and needs the mercy of God.
Driscoll says his job is to tell the truth, then proceeds to tell lies.
What is the evidence that hell exists ? None, zero.
According to him gods position is "worship me or I will torture you forever"
the greatest evidence for a hell is you.
@tbt, I don't understand, please explain how I am evidence for the existence of hell.
The book clearly says that if you do not believe that Jesus is the son of god...and that he died for your sins you are going to hell. The author is accurately quoting scripture. Just because you go to a church that lies and warps the meanings of thing to make the story more believable doesn't change the words in the book.
Chr said >The book clearly says that if you do not believe that Jesus is the son of god
Well, Jesus said he would rid the world if wicked people. Odin said he would rid the world of Ice Giants. And I still see wicked people, but no ice giants.... Praise Odin!
What's your point? We don't believe what your books says. You have to provide evidence that ANYTHING in that book is reliable WHATSOEVER before even trying to use it as an argument. Good luck, as people have been trying to do that for thousands of years with no luck.
You are not evidence of hell, you are evidence of a loving God. A God who humbled Himself and came low. A God who loved us while we were still His enemies. Who loves their enemies and would give their own life for them? This is love of Jesus. People that seek to deny God over-emphasize the "God of Wrath." But if God were not Just He could not love perfectly. For example, what good husband wouldn't defend his wife if their house was broken into? What good husband wouldn't exert "wrath" upon the trespasser? I would.
This column is a joke, right? The Onion could not do it better.
This isn't the Onion? Oooops, fat fingered the domain again!!
GOD does not send people to Hell; period!
but we may choose to go to Hell by our wrong actions,
if we do not repent and return to Him immediately,
based on Solid FACTS and PROOFS which clearly and unmistakably thus shows to us His Existence, Power and Justice
over all things now!
UNIVERSAL MAGNIFICENT MIRACLES
Please explain the evidence for the existence of hell.
An abusive husband doesn't beat his wife, PERIOD.
She chooses to be beaten when she doesn't do what he wants tells her to do.
If she does not do what he says and follow his instructions immediately,
based on the solid facts and proof which clearly and unmistakable show that the man is the dominant power in the household and over all things NOW.
(Also, your grammar is ATROCIOUS)
@tbt, if name calling is the best you can do, I rest my case. You got nothing.
What name calling ? You asked evidence you are the closest evidence for the existence of hell you have. Where is the name in that?
Hell isn't real and if it were god ABSOLUTELY sends people there. He created it and his system "judges" people. I don't beleive in god...therefore I would go to hell...even if I've been a good person all my life god says I deserve to burn forever. I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy....So I'm more moral than god? Your circular logic isn't going to help your argument.
Here on Earth...We humans will never be able to understand what Heaven and Hell are like....its like explaining the internet to an ant...
Jesus is clearly described as the judge. A judge sends people to jail. So, on what basis to formulate this belief friend?
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.
I agree with Frank Schaeffer. We don't need to go back to retributionist theology. If anyone reads "God is Love" available at the Kindle Store (http://www.amazon.com/God-is-Love-ebook/dp/B009EGHXVK/ref=sr_1_7?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1348397321&sr=1-7&keywords=God+is+love), that discusses the concept of hell and how strong and great God's love is that it conquers hell forever. They too will come to agree with Mr. Schaeffer.
Of course they must deny and/or twist the meaning the bible entirely to do this. That information should be in the forward. I believe that the love of God is powerful, as manifest in my own life. But a God who 'truly' loves must also be truly just. That idea is heresy that can be trace back to the early church. It is a dangerous thing to twist the Word of God and resist the doctrine of the early apostles as written in the NT. Take heed friend : )
One of the two commentators from the blog accurately cites the Bible, the other praises a distortion of Christianity that calls Jesus a liar.
If I had to choose between the mainstream interpretation of Heaven and Hell, as an atheist, I would 100% without a doubt choose Hell. Spend every moment for the rest of eternity singing songs about how great God is next to a whole bunch of evangelical Christians? PASS. Spend every moment for the rest of eternity discussing everything possible with the likes of Christopher Hitchens, Albert Einstein, Epicurus, and millions of other great thinkers from our species? YES PLEASE!
It's difficult to have a conversation when you're burning. And your notion of heaven is equally ill-formed
Those are not your choices. You do not converse in hell, you are trapped alone in unbelievable torment and have only yourself to blame.
Dale, there is no pain that the human mind won't eventually begin to fetishize and enjoy. Additionally, burning will be impossible, since physical pain is conducted and sensed by our nervous system, which will be left behind with my body when I die. Your notion of Hell is laughable.
Truth be told, you make me giggle. HEHEHEHE!
the saddest thing in your statement is the fact you understand so little of what hell is, you think you will be able to talk to other people there? Understand your pain and anguish will be so great, I pity you and your closed heart
Amen, to that brother! :) All of my friends are going to "hell" according to these backward dolts
who preach this dribble. I stand with all the great scientists of our day and the past heroes who
defied those who want to subjected the masses so that they can live in luxury. Ever notice how
the "religious" all want to live so well and long? If this fabulous "heaven" existed it seems to me
they would want to check themselves out to get to it pronto!
I love these religious types that think they know what heaven is. How do you know about heaven in such detail? What information did you read or were told to make you think you know what happens in heaven or what it looks like? You are talking out your bum and you know it. You knock others for giving heaven a bad name when you are giving REALITY a bad name. Grow up, look under the bed, question everything.
I think it is quite funny that we think it is up to us if hell excists or not. If God is God then I don't beleve we have the right to tell him what to do.
We certainly have the right to hold Yahweh accountable for the actions he took when he decided to commit genocide. If I find myself standing before Yahweh, HE will have to answer to ME before I will even entertain the thought of bending my knee to him.
Blarg almighty thinks he's funny. Kinda sad if you ask me.
look for blarg it will be one of the ones with the oh sh it look on its face.
thanks for the great laugh, it is a good way to wake up in the morning! I am looking forward to see you bend your knee for Jesus Christ is Lord of all and all will confess He is LORD
In many instances in the bible, Jesus shared the common notion at his time that the world was flat. Jesus, who u think is lord, thought the world was flat. I always lol at that, and the religious always ignore those parts of the bible which implies that Jesus thought the world was flat.
Case in point:
Remember during the temptation in the desert, when Satan took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth? Obviously both Jesus and Satan and the biblical authors who made up this story did not know that the earth was round. No matter how high a mountain I take you to, you cannot see all the kingdoms of the earth because the earth is round. Jesus who u consider god was not aware of this simple fact. How can someone who u attribute a god status to not know that the earth is round??
There are more examples in the bible which implies that Jesus thought the world was flat. But I'll leave that for later. Lets see u explain why Jesus thought the world was flat in the above verse that i cited.
@LetsThink123 ... how about 'cause he didn't show him these kingdoms with his *eyes*, but in some kind of vision? Taking him to a mountaintop was just a conveniently dramatic place (not long before this time, people worshipped mountains). There, that wasn't even hard. The trick is to think more like a fantasist.
Prayer changes things
Blind adherence to the indoctrination of your parents is not healthy for children. Rational inquiry changes minds and leads youth to a future forged from their own ideas, not the shadows of their parents.
If you have heart problems, which helps, praying or going to the doctor.
If you have some evidence that prayer does something, please share.
So does syphilis.
God bless you! Prayer does change things! Hopefully it can change these hardened hearts!
I think a "hardened heart" is a product of religious fundamentalism. And I know of no better modern day examples of that, than those muslims who indiscriminately kill their fellow human beings, in the name of god.
Prayer is just "wishful thinking"! Positive ACTIONS change things!...
I have prayed for years for God to take away my alcohol and cocaine addiction, guess what!! HE HAS!!!
@Tired of Godless Self Reliant Idiots As an admitted former drug and alcohol abuser your opinions about reality v. fantasy are extremely questionable. "I used to be all messed up on drugs. Now I'm all messed up on Jesus."
Nothing fails like prayer.
Tired of Godless Self Reliant Idiots says
-I have prayed for years for God to take away my alcohol and cocaine addiction, guess what!! HE HAS!!!
So, you prayed, Im guessing every day, for "years" which is at least 2 years, so you prayed at the very least 600 times. and God supposedly answered you once. What a great track record your god has.

The above mentioned article by Frank Schaeffer is a good example how distorted things have become in society with the media industry as the main culprit.
He is spiritually blind and the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:15).
In order for anyone to be able to understand the Word of God they must repent and turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18). Frank Schaeffer does not know what spirit he is off (Luke 9:55).
The Word of God is not to be interpreted (2 Peter 1:20) and it is the discerner of every thought and intent of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
The local media, including CNN, Fox and your local TV stations and newspapers are a very important element of social and political behavior, as society is shaped by what it sees, hears and reads and it is conditioned by the events that influence the mind of every person. You reap what you sow.
To allow anyone to be directed by public opinion is dangerous because most public opinion is the view of the media. If the media does not like something, their bias taints information getting to the public, and this forms public opinion. Public opinion is never based on research and facts. The public uses the media for its sole source of information and for this reason social behavior will continue to deteriorate and wax worse and worse (2 Timothy 3:13).
For a better understanding of the role of the media we invite you to read the articles ‘Influence of the Media’ and ‘CNN Belief Blog – Sign of the Times’, listed on our website http://www.aworlddeceived.ca
The media does not provide accurate information on ‘Religion’ as it continues to ignore the truth and the history of deceptions (John 14:17). They only report how they want you to hear things. They have created the big chasm that now exists without offering any solutions.
Consider the truth about Catholicism, Islam, Mormonism, Judaism, Evangelicals and Christianity and all other religions and ask yourself the following question.
Are so-called Catholics, Muslims, Mormons, Israelites and Evangelicals and all those that call themselves ‘Christians’ followers of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God, or do they follow after an image of a false god and a false Christ (Matthew 24:24; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Gal. 4:8)?
For a better understanding of the history of Catholicism, Islam, Mormonism, Christianity, and Judaism and its spread throughout the world, we invite you to read the articles ‘The Mystery Babylon’, ‘Can Christianity or Any Other Religion Save You?’, ‘World History and Developments in the Middle East’ and ‘Clash of Civilizations’, listed on our website http://www.aworlddeceived.ca
Mitt Romney’s and Barack Obama’s faith does not stand in the teachings of Christ but rather in an image of the spirit and the god of this world and a false Christ (Matthew 24:24; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Gal. 4:8).
For a better understanding of the history of the Mormon Church and Mitt Romney’s quest for the Presidency of the USA, we invite you to read the articles ‘Mormon Church – Cult and Spiritual Harlot’ and ‘Barack Obama – President of the United States of America’, listed on our website.

Wow. Hope you feel better after posting that bloody doctoral thesis that NO ONE will bother to read. LOL!
Great argument... for a limit on the length of comments here
My thesis is much shorter then yours.
B.-It took me awhile to even find the end of this thing and think it selfish you are making people do this.
C.-I hope you copied and pasted that as you spend too much time on CNN.
That was very Unabomber Manifesto of you. Some people are literally spiritually insane. Come on, man. Start over and join the human race, willya?
I'm sorry, I fell asleep while reading your post. Would you please repeat it ?
This diatribe is an excellent example of how polluted a human mind becomes when dogma takes control. Absolutely creepy and meaningless white noise.
You are actually permitted out to walk with normal humans. That is a shame. I'll bet you're single and live with your parents.
I'm happy to say oh verbose Christian that I reported your abuse of space. Its idiots like you that give Christ a bad name.
God is much too loving to permit you to go on, and on, and on, and on.

I have to work tommorrow, so just tell me, are you for or against the whole heaven/hell thing.
It is SUCH a SHAME that you are unable to live a life of truth and virtue with the illogical FEAR of "God's TERRIBLE and SCARY retribution"!!! Atheists live lives of trurth and virtue for the sake of Human-kind and for the very sake of truth and virtue itself! I am SO SORRY that YOU are such a WEAK and evil-minded person that you REQUIRE the bogus threat of eternal damnation just to be nice to your nieghbors! That is VERY SAD!...
To quote Captain Jack Sparrow: "You need to find yourself a girl, mate...."

I once asked a friend about the eternal consequences for someone who had never heard of Christianity. He said that they have their chance in this life. Pretty simple minded. What kind of God would punish someone for the sin of never having herad of him? I give God much more credit than that.
