The pope's former butler to testify in 'Vatileaks' trial

By Hada Messia, CNN

ROME (CNN) - Paolo Gabriele, former butler to Pope Benedict XVI, will take the stand in his own trial Tuesday to answer to criminal charges of stealing hundreds of secret papers from the pope's personal apartment and leaking them to an Italian journalist.

Corruption claims resulting from the publication of a book based on the leaked documents rocked the Catholic Church hierarchy and could even affect who becomes the next pope.

Like that great blog post said, religion is for the ignorant, the gullible, the cowardly, and the stupid, and for those who would profit from them.

I'm sorry, "Atheism is not healthy for children and other living things", but your assertions regarding atheism and prayer are unfounded. The degree to which your assertions may represent truths is 0.0. To help you understand the degree to which your assertions may represent truths, I will access my Idiomatic Expression Equivalency module (IEE). Using my IEE module, the expression that best matches the degree to which your assertions may represent truths is: "TOTAL FAIL".

I see that you repeat these unfounded statements with high frequency. Perhaps the following book might help you overcome this problem:

Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.

An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.

The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!~.

only an idiot would defend an org.anization that protects child mole.sters at the cost of the victims. and btw, get at least a basic education. h.omos.exual does not mean child mole.ster. one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. if a man mole.sts a little girl, do you accuse him of doing it because he is straight? would that be proof that there is something fun.damentally wrong with being straight, since the mole.station took place between opposite s.exes? no, dummy, one has nothing to do with the other. it’s child mole.station. try thinking, just once, before you post.

apologize for the extra periods, trying to get around CNN's ridiculous language filter.

the pope is mad because the butler refused to work a child-vodka mixer hosted by the vatican. sometimes it's hard for priests to meet susceptible young children to touch...

Only an idiot would take the criminal acts of a few lying ho mo se xuals that infiltrated the church to attack the innocents and unsuspecting and apply that across the board to the entire church. That would be like blaming banks for bank robbers.

Celibacy is unnatural. For some it is the "yeast" leading to pedophilia. The Catholic church, through its odd tenets, such as celibacy, ensures that problems will continue until those tenets are modified or until the church dissolves.

    • Bill Deacon

Now ben, you know there are no psychological reviews that link celibacy to pedophilia. If you want to be taken seriously in the fight against child abuse you should get your facts straight. Otherwise just keep spouting hate at the Church.

actions cause change; prayer wastes valuable time.

unclasp your hands, get up off your knees, go outside, think for yourself and put those hands to work helping others. congratulations, you are now a better person.

i just read that pope pardons people, but its not up to him, its up to God and this is thier sin that they give no reference that Its all up to God and His Mercy, this is how the vatican try to maintain their focus on amere human pretending to be something that he is not chosen by God, mr ratzinger and all the others were chosen by the other clergy so that it suits their evil. Contemptable people these clergy. as i said and it is said, the abomination that causes desolation, that is the child abuse clergy and we can't even contemplate what the others get up to.

Even Shaul i.e st paul Said to stay away from any religion that does not allow its clergy to get married. This is why the vatican didn't approve of him because he spoke what they did't want to hear.

there is a very nice saying in The Torah that Our Saviour Said, take the log out of your own eye before you see the splinter in the other persons eye.

What i think is that if the vatican the abomination that causes desolation presses to prosecute an innocent man then how do they justify their trying to evade perscution of their child abuse clery, absolute hypocrisy and against God and this is why they are proving themselves to be what the ordinary decent person sees them as, liars and abusers.

But also they are using the secular system for their evil and yet they are exempt from it when they abuse children. But Govts know they need the catholics to keep their type from rebelling.

You're full of beans. The quote on "the log in your eye" is from the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament. Really, how can you stand to be so ignorant?

just to let some of you know and not all of you will be interested in this but recently there was a writing about that jesus had a wife, of course the first thing here is that Our Saviour is not called jesus, and whether the writing is genuine or not what we do know is that Our Saviour Yeshua Mashiah shel Natzeret always spoke of those that believed in Him as the bride of Heaven so it doesn't take much intelligence to understand why people think he had a wife when really what Our Saviour was talking about was symbolic and true.

Well, the Swiss Guardsmen are colorful. But they really ought to learn something more interesting to do with all that color, like baton twirling or amazing displays of gun & bayonet handling. Then they could sometimes go on tour and join forces with Cirque du Soleil or the Ice Capades.
