I just brough-up a point in response to his panic interesting observations on Idolatry and romanism. I'm going to expand on it.

Back in 2009 Obama was critized with vitriolic virulence by catholics/conservatives/palinists/re-publicans et al. For bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia once. Now, there is no doubt in my mind that both Biden and Ryan will kiss the pope's ring more than once.

The unholy and wicked Politico-religious alliance, between catholics and protestants in the Conservative movement and the Tee-parties, lead by the Vatican, not surprising will see no wrong in that. Makes me wonder sometimes if all conservatives/protestants/re-publicans will eventually; Kiss the Pope's ring.

Idolatry is a grave and serious SIN. Roman catholics do admire/adore/venerate/worship idols. Of which they have Billions. They claim this idols are only representations of Jesus, Mary, Peter or whatever have them. They argue is just like photos or they are "works of art" or that cherubs were made by Gods command. These arguments and claims are nothing but absurds and nonsense. A useless pretension to try to justify an unjustifiable absurdity.

These Idols (paintings, statues) are the same the Greeks and Romans had back in the days of old. Same thing, same idols, same false gods. Just with different fashions and named after Jesus, Mary, Peter etc. etc. etc.

This is GROSS IDOLATRY, a grave and serious SIN. Repent and believe in Jesus.

Romanists Idolatry is just about the worst ever in history. Because in spite of the knowledge we have today of the Scriptures, and they claim (falsely), to be the "guardians" of the Scriputures. Still having good enough versions of the Scriptures which CLEARLY says what Idolatry is; They still go ahead and commit the SIN. Along with the host of other sins and crimes. When the Lord Jesus returns, the Bible say they are going to be in a state of Panic, because by then it will be too late.

That is exactly what I said "apatheist" BILLIONS; Like in a Million times a Million. Though if you're in Europe you do use another term and a different number of digits. In this side of the Atlantic a Billion is 1,000,000,000. Got it?

Since Rome claims to have a Billion followers (est.) and each of those followers have up to ten idols. Begining with those they have in the wallet, the purse, the home, the car, the schools, the office etc. Add to that number ALL of those Idols they have in their so called Cathedrals, chapels or whatever have you. Add to that number, those that are being made as I write this. Add to that, the number made in the past but that are now gone due to Rust, Termites, wear, breakage or lost etc. And there you have it, BILLIONS!! Got it?

WOW!! Well, I don't know about apathetic but I did get it! So well said His panic, amen brother!!

That is soo very true!! On average, roman catholics carry with them small items or figurines of their idols in their wallets and purses for good luck or "protection" even "companionship". They also wear gold chains with crucifixes. Plus all the rest of the stuff they have in their homes and the office. The cathedrals on average have over a dozen of them idols. In Spain, France an Italy some have up to twenty according to a good friend of mine who has been there in business and leisure travels.

When they have Bibles they don't really read them, rather they have them as some sort of good luck charm or decor for the room.

Ecl. 7:6 Like the crackling of thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of fools.

That's so true. As a former catholic who grew-up seeing that and who also has lived and visited countries where the Roman church prevails as the religion of the majority. I saw altars covered in 24K gold while the populace all around those cathedrals suffered ignorance and illiteracy. Those priests took advantage of that ignorance, would NOT read from the Scriptures to the illiterates. Both in the US and abroad catholics do have idols. But is really, really gross overseas, especially in the Phillipines and Mexico. I don't think is as bad in the US.

They have idols everywhere, sometimes they had idols in every room of the house. There are stores and shops dedicated to sell them, so those can be added up to the numbers cited by heispanic.

I'm sure both Biden and Ryan will kiss the pope's ring. Which is funny if not phony, given the fact that Obama was criticized for bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia one time. But these two I have no doubt that they will kiss the pope's ring more than once.

  3. Glory

Look, most everyone is born with a moral compass that inherently tells us right from wrong.
I don't need the Ten Commandments (and there are many more than just ten in the Bible, but that's neither here nor there) to tell me that it's wrong to murder, or not to steal...that's my moral compass.
If someone who is born without one, (and there are) is going to kill someone, they are not going to suddenly stop and think, "Whoa, there's a Commandment for that, isn't there?" and reconsider their actions.

And Hindu guy, you seriously need to get back on your meds, because you don't make one damn ounce of sense. Your posts made my eyes bleed.

    • Poltergeist

uh huh, so if morals are inherent, why are child soldiers so common in the third world? Many would kill you and sleep just fine.

      October 16, 2012 at 6:42 pm |
    • Apatheist

Child soldiers? Well, I can assure you those children weren't born soldiers...

      October 16, 2012 at 7:06 pm |
    • Bill Deacon

No one is born with a moral compass. Sociologists and psychologists tell us that up until the age of 2-3 that human beings are entirely ego driven centers of their own little universe. It is only through social conditioning that we adapt to others around us. You can argue that the conditioning you impose is sourced from various places but you cannot argue that humans intrinsically have such a compass.

I'm sorry, "Atheism is not healthy for children and other living things", but your assertions regarding atheism and prayer are unfounded. Using my Idiomatic Expression Equivalency module, the expression that best matches the degree to which your assertions may represent truths is: "TOTAL FAIL".

I see that you repeat these unfounded statements with high frequency. Perhaps the following book can help you:

Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.

An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.

The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!!!

  9. His panic

As catholics both Biden and Ryan are Idolaters. They'll see a painting on the wall or a statue in a cathedral and say "That's Jesus, or Mary or Peter". As is the accepted and common practice among catholics/idolaters.

They WILL KISS the Pope's ring; a GROSSLY idolatrous act. They have to do it because that's what all romanists do when they meet the pope.

In doing so and the rest of things they always do and given their privileged positions. They become DE FACTO accomplices of ALL the crimes and wrongs that Evil Politico-religious Organizations has committed in the past, is committing in the present and will commit in the future.

    October 16, 2012 at 1:59 pm |
    • myweightinwords

This has allows made me wonder...do you honestly think that anyone thinks that the statue/painting/whatever IS the deity?

I mean...when you talk about idolatry, about worshipping an idol, what is it you think a person is doing?

I have a statue of Morrigan on my altar. Do I think it IS Morrigan? No, of course not. Do I worship the statue? No, of course not. Then again, I don't worship Morrigan either so...

Worship is something I see in those who are most vocally decrying the idolatry of others. Most of those who are being accused of worshipping idols, aren't.

      October 16, 2012 at 2:35 pm |
  10. His panic

Having or practicing a religion is one of many things that separates humans from animals. Animals have rituals and routines but that is not the same as religion.

However the Romanist religion is grossly IDOLATROUS. They adore/venerate/worship paintings on the walls and statues. Give them names like Jesus, Mary and Peter. They bow down before these "works of art" that are nothing more than the product of the IMAGINATIONS of the artists who made them. These IDOLS are replicas of the Greco-Roman Pantheons of idols/gods of the past. They are dress different, they are given Biblical names but are still Mute IDOLS.

Idolatry is a grave and serious SIN. It is the braking and violation of the first and second Commandments of God. Idolatry is unbelief and scriptures says that is the same as worshipping demons.

religion turns us back into animals. religions teaches us to obey without question. religion teaches us to turn our brains off.

      October 16, 2012 at 1:38 pm |
    • His panic

Once the first 2 Commandments are broken, the rest will inevitably follow. Once the fear of God is absent, false gods and idols are respected and worship, every moral fiber and inhibitions/restrictions are abandoned. The rest is in a downhill spiral, that will lead Idolaters and their allies, followers, friends and sympathizers to the other place that is NOT HEAVEN.

      October 16, 2012 at 1:40 pm |

if abandoning belief in god, we become terrible people, you would think a lot more non-believers would be in prison. non-believers make up about 15% of the US population - but only.02% of the US prison population. if you are a christian, you have a much much higher rate of going to prison. so the facts saying being a non-believer means you commit less crimes.

The Ja/panese do not now, and never have had a significant Christian population. They didn't even hear of the Abrahamic God until the 1500s and in fact banned Missionaries.
Yet their crime rate is significantly lower than so called "Christian" nations, their education system is one of the best in the world, their people count themselves happier than most – and they do it all without the ten commandments.
Kinda blows your "fear God or society crumbles" theory out of the water.

      You argument is nonsensical.
If you don't want any religious icons in your house, don't have any; but your wholesale condemnation of other religions belies the teachings of the Jesus. Shut up. You are in no better position to judge anyone than my pet cat.
