Anti-Obama mail piece: ‘We are no longer a Christian nation’By Peter Hamby, CNN Political Reporter Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) – Focus on the Family, the Colorado-based social conservative organization founded by evangelical author and radio host James Dobson, is targeting Iowa voters with a mailing that quotes President Obama as saying “we are no longer a Christian nation.” The fold-out brochure, which landed in Iowa mailboxes last week and was provided to CNN by a Des Moines-area voter, draws a series of contrasts between Obama and Mitt Romney on the issues of abortion, same-sex marriage and insurance coverage for contraception. If that is not a TRUE prophesy word for word, what is? This is written almost 2000 years ago inspired by the holy spirit. Any intelligent person look at those words and ask yourself if that is what happening in this country. This is the reason Christians stay away from voting for Obama or what the democratic party now days stand for. It doesn't matter what said in the blogs and social sites. Righteousness and purity were the principles of the founding fathers. That is only the reason, this country was blessed. Too bad that is a minority is standing for this principles. It will be for years to come.

After a long campaign, this is now a time for Americans to come together. It is a long tradition among Latter-day Saints to pray for our national leaders in our personal prayers and in our congregations. We invite Americans everywhere, whatever their political persuasion, to pray for the President, for his administration and the new Congress as they lead us through difficult and turbulent times. May our national leaders reflect the best in wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great trust afforded to them by the American people.
We also commend Governor Romney for engaging at the highest level of our democratic process, which, by its nature, demands so much of those who offer themselves for public service. We wish him and his family every success in their future endeavors.

REPUBLICANS...not understanding why they lost yet and probably never will.
here's something to think about. considering the fact that obama promised 1.7 million people amnesty (which means there are at least 5 million illegals in the US), and the fact that a photo id is not required in most states to vote – how will we ever be certain that obama really won the elections? i just took a look at the election results and there were only 121 million votes counted (or people that voted). this means we have a very flimsy election process to establish a very strong government. is it not required to choose the wife of our prince very carefully? how can we know that illegals did not vote and why did 180 million people abstain from voting? were they afraid that they would get fired if they spoke up and would end up with no wealth and be on food stamps?
I think its more of democrats not understanding why they won. The President did not win by a landslide. The Electoral College may have made it appear that way but the popular vote in all the "battleground" states was always very close. The man had nearly 100% of the black vote and better than 50% of the Hispanic one. I know it sounds racists to say so but it is true. Someone asked me in 2008 if I was not voting for Obama because he was black. I truthfully told them no, not at all. I then asked them "If I were would that be worse than voting for him because he was?" So many people voted for him because he was and that is what gave him the narrow margin of victory.
Midranger, they're called "battleground" states because they know in advance that the vote will be close. Duh!
Hey republicans... if in case you haven't figured out one of the reasons you lost.... please lookup James Dobson and his type...

Have those who preach we have become an anti-Christ nation forgotten Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount? I am a Christian and a Democrat! Why? Because I have indeed read Christ's words, words by which we should all abide, no matter what our denomination: THE GOLDEN RULE: LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS YOU WOULD LOVE THYSELF... DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE DONE UNTO YOU – yes, that is CHRIST speaking to His disciples. He preached of helping others, he preached of being non-judgmental, He preached of humanity and understanding. You don't have to be a Christian to listen and understand Christ's kind of common sense, of what it takes to be a true decent human being. WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN, no matter what Evangelists, Mormons, Carl Rove, or any other conservative for that matter, thinks! Yes! Gays are God's children, Blacks are God's children, Hispanics are God's children! Our President is a decent human being who loves his wife, his children, his Country and attends a Christian church. Now you tell me what fault you find in that??????? You tell me where Christ said that we must condemn those that don't think like you, talk like you, love like you?????? You tell me what would you do if your child turned out Gay, or if you were blind and never even knew what black skin or white skin looked like? How would you be able to judge that person who would stand before you, if you never knew the difference????????? And by the way...MONEY!! Yes, Christ did indeed let His Disciples in on the fact it is indeed the root of all evil!!!! And that is why Obama won over Romney...! The economy is indeed not a great as we want it to be, but bottom line, it is not all about the money... it is about ALL OF US!!!!!!
I am not a christian because there is no evidence to support the claims of that belief (or any religious belief, for that matter.). However, I am an American, so I believe that all citizens have the same right to worship (or not worship) as they choose. We have never been a "christian" nation. We are a free nation. The secular foundations of our government ensure that freedom, as much as any freedom can be ensured.

Sorry Maria, that is not what the bible teaches. Not everyone is a child of God. Read Galatians 4 carefully (NIV, ESV, KJV) and you will see that unless a person is redeemed by God, that person is not a child of God. When a person is redeemed by God, he/she becomes adopted into his family and also becomes an heir. Only God can open your minds/hearts to understand that you are sinner and in need of the grace of God. What is that grace? It is God sending his son Jesus Christ who is sinless to die for you and me – because God loved the world (John 3:16) he had Jesus take the punishment for our sins once and for all. There's nothing we could add or take away to what God already did through Jesus. A true believer is one who is forever grateful to God for Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and that gratefulness is what compels a believer to love one another, to take insults from unbelievers and not return evil for evil. Believers are no longer "slaves" to this world and to all of its sinful desires, but are now a child of God – free from the powers of sin and death. This is the truth of the Gospel.
We never were supposed to be a Christian nation. Religious Freedom does not mean "Christianity forced upon all," like most ultra-conservatives and religious hardliners seem to believe. You can't really compare Christian fundamentalists to the Taliban because they don't commit acts of terrorism, but their extremism is along the same lines. Their beliefs are absolute and they decry and denounce the thoughts and beliefs of anyone different, even going so far as to actively pursue taking rights away from those that are different. Funny thing is, you can't really distinguish who I was just talking about there – Christian extremists or Islamic extremists. Sad but true.
