Latino minister fires up Ebenezer on King Day

By Moni Basu, CNN

In all the 45 years of a commemorative service on the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., there had never been a Latino delivering the keynote address.

That changed Monday as the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez took the podium and belted out a sermon that would have surely made King proud. His message was sown together with the language of faith and justice:

"Justice is not the purpose of big government. Justice is the passion of a big God," he told the crowd at Ebenezer Baptist Church in downtown Atlanta.

"Justice is not a political term to be exploited but a prophetic term to be lived out."

I have followed the going around of this preacher for some time now.

He was born in Pennsylvania; therefore he is an American born citizen and that as per the Cons-ti-tu-tion, as it was well stated previously by hispanic.

Actually there is not such a thing as a "Latino".

Latin is an ancient language still in use but is not in any way an ethnicity or a race. He and others, use the term as a way to appeal and attract the crowds who erroneously believe such pretense and nonsense. Instead of educating the crowds, he deliberately chooses to use their ignorance in this subject matter. I'm a Christian, a Puerto Rican and a Veteran myself so I don't and never have fall for this "Latino" charade thing. I'm a born US Citizen not a "Latino".

Mr. Rodriguez needs to get over that and start teaching what is right, truth and Just to his followers and others. Because that's also JUSTICE!

His ideas about Justice are flawed. Because whether is big, small or whatever the size of Government; Justice indeed is the one Purpose of Government, of any and all Governments. Why then have an entire legal and law enforcement system at all?

Justice is ALWAYS related to the Law and its rightful and timely fulfillment, and the same cannot be said about Prophecy. Where in the world is this preacher getting his theology? Before any atheist pretends to answer, I'm not asking them fools.

Things do not love you back, especially guns. Mental health, did that ever stop the people of the world from being baptized by him? *Luke 7:33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. *Matthew 21:27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I by what authority I do these things. *John 8:49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. *John 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

When the Lord is asking you a question, why is he being ignored? *Matthew 22:45 If David then called him Lord, how is he his son? (*1st Samuel 18:22) *Luke 20:26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and marvelled at his answer, and held their peace. *Matthew 22:46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. *Luke 20:45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, *2nd Kings 12:16 The trespass money and the sin money was not brought into the house of the Lord: it was the priests'. *1st Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if first begin with us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? *Psalm 1:6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of ungodly shall perish. *Matthew 27:51 And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; *1st Samuel 18:21 And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain. (*Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.*)

History proves the sad Truth that atheists are mass murderers. All nations with atheists in power have been involved in mass murders numbering into the millions. Some contend atheist Joe Stalin as having murdered the most at over 60 million slaughtered, others claim atheist Mao was responsible for the murders of hundreds of millions.

Do chickens prove that ducks fart normatively on Sunday car parks? My idiom casts a smelly cupboard on yellowish poop decks. Atheists have green atmospheric pressure yet never divulge the secrets of ant urine.

  7. Yeah Right

If justice is such a Jesusy thing, how come atheists live more law-abiding lives than Christians? Why is the long history of Chrisatianity so heavily marred by such ugly periods of cruel injustice?

Dude, didn't you get the memo from the Huckster?
The atheists took god out of our country and the believers just couldn't cope and all went the devil route as a result.
      Can't be any other explanation.

Yep, right there in the Preamble of the Const itution....something you religious folks only support when to your advantage.

He is. He wrote an article here about a year ago that was classic "I'm not angry; you're the one who's angry!" burn-in-hell Christian drivel.

He makes his money by selling fear, so of course he is angry.

*Isaiah 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, change the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. *Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. *James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: *Isaiah 27:11 When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour. *Psalm 49:20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

Hispanic is a generic term for Puerto Rican? *Ezekiel 33:17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. *Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. *Daniel 7:28 Hitherto is the end of the matter.

    • His panic

He was born in Pennsylvania of Puerto Rican parents who are by US Code born US Citizens. Therefore he is an American born citizen and that by the Cons-ti-tu-tion. His use of the Latino term is inappropriate a pretense.
