Rome (CNN) - With the dust still settling from Benedict XVI's historic resignation as pope, the focus in Rome turns to the future Friday as Roman Catholic cardinals prepare to meet to discuss a timetable for picking the new pontiff.
A letter issued by the dean of the College of Cardinals on Friday calls the cardinals to come together Monday morning for the first in a series of meetings, known as general congregations.
There will be a second session Monday afternoon, according to the letter from Cardinal Angelo Sodano.
One of the cardinals' first tasks will be agreeing when to hold the secret election, or conclave, in which they will pick Benedict's successor.
However, the date for the conclave may not be set Monday, Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said Friday.
Galatians 6:8: Sow to the flesh, and reap of the flesh, destruction–wars of guns bombs sow to the flesh, and reap of the flesh, destruction.Sow to the Spirit,God's Holy Spirit, and reap of the Spirit, eternal life in God's Kingdom–in a fight not of the flesh, man's sinful nature, but a Spiritual fight by God's word, sword of the Spirit.Even as Ephesians 6: 12,says,for we struggle not against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits in high places–that tempt the flesh, man's sinful nature, into wars of guns and bombs that kill even the innocent, and without conscience. The Bible says violence begets violence, and wars are violence,so wars beget wars, wars make wars.so wars don't make the world safer, but less safer.
Science has made great discoveries in the past 100 years confirming the reality of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as creator.
– no historical detail in the The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has ever been proved to be incorrect
– Historicity of the Spaghedeity
– Historicity of the empty colander
– Origin of the disciples belief that they had met a boiled Flying Spaghetti Monster, a belief they held so strongly that they were willing to go to their deaths proclaiming the truth.
From the late 1800's thru 1972 the notion of "Darwinian gradualism" held the world captive. The notion that purely random mutation preserved in the population by natural selection would produce a gradual change, which over time would create the complexity of life we now observe (phyletic gradualism).
Then, in 1972 the publication of "Punctuated equilibria: an alternative to phyletic gradualism" by Stephen Gould (atheist) finally forced the scientific world to accept the reality that the fossil record does not show the gradual change over time that Darwin proposed.
Instead, what the community was forced to acknowledge, is that the fossil record reflects stasis and rapid change. This supports the theistic evolutionist claim that FSM used natural processes to develop life on this earth, as pure chance can never explain the grand paroxysm of necessarily interrelated mutations that are required to occur to accomplish this rapid change.
Origins of the universe
For most of scientific history, the universe was thought to have always existed, directly refuting the theistic claim that the universe had a beginning, and a creator.
Then, a series of discoveries resulted in a complete transformation of thought, we now know that our universe has not always existed, rather it had a beginning, confirming the theistic claim:
– 1929: Edwin Hubble discovers red shift (the stars and planets are all moving away from each other. The universe is expanding in all directions)
– 1965: discovery of microwave cosmic background radiation (the echo's of the big bang)
– 1998, two independent research groups studying distant supernovae were astonished to discover, against all expectations, that the current expansion of the universe is accelerating (Reiss 1998, Perlmutter 1999).
– 2003: Borde, Guth, and Vilenkin's Past-Finite Universe proves our universe had a beginning
Fine Tuning of the universe
In the past 30 or 40 years, scientists have been astonished to find that the initial conditions of our universe were fine-tuned for the existence of building blocks of life. Constants such as gravitational constant have been found, the variation of which to even the smallest degree, would have rendered the universe utterly incapable of supporting life.
"There is now broad agreement among physicists and cosmologists that the Universe is in several respects ‘fine-tuned' for life". However, he continues, "the conclusion is not so much that the Universe is fine-tuned for life; rather it is fine-tuned for the building blocks and environments that life requires." – Paul Davies
"The laws of science, as we know them at present, contain many fundamental numbers, like the size of the electric charge of the electron and the ratio of the masses of the proton and the electron. ... The remarkable fact is that the values of these numbers seem to have been very finely adjusted to make possible the development of life – Stephen Hawking
Now, neither Davies or Hawking is a believer in FSM. They both believe in fine tuning, they just posit natural reasons for it. The only problem with my fine tuning argument is...
Goog point angel. Hopefully some of these people turn their sin over before the white horse arrives.
Keep it p, the holy spirit bears the truth and reveals it within a persons heart. Today is the day of salvation.
"Cardinals look to future after Benedict's exit" – I thought this article was about baseball. My bad.
OPINIONS!!!! Why do some not realize or understand that all we are doing on these posts is expressing OUR opinions?
Why do you get upset when others do not agree with your opinion? Swearing, using all CAPS., trying to prove a point that cannot be proven? Two words that I use are "faith & beleif"! it applies to both sides of any discussion. While I do beleive in my savior I have many unanswered questions. MY faith & beleif cannot be changed. However, I also understand that religious books & related materials, were written by humans! Written, re witten, stories embellished, some omitted, changed as the humans writing them "interpreted" them during their times! I know of NO book, that states, it is the original, written by God?
ronvan, please abandon your faith and belief in sky fairies. Mankind thanks you.
C'mon Benedict, it's time to lose the false sky daddy and accept Tim the Destroyer of Worlds into your heart. It's not too late to repent and secure your purple energy bubble. Ferretianism is the one true religion. Repent! (banjoferret d c)
May CNN make a report about this link:
In the said link you will read the real Jesus as solely based on the Bible that was unknown to mankind for the past two thousand years.
It reveals there the truth that God punished Jesus with the floggings of men for his wrongdoing and not for our sins- which means the apostles of Jesus had deceived humanity.
The said exposition there will truly destroy Christianity, Islam, and Judaism as their teachings will be found as false all this time. I suggest you complete reading the said site now. Thanks
Why is it always the creepiest and kookiest who post the same thing twice in a row?
Why is it always the creepiest and kookiest who post the same thing twice in a row??

You sound creepy.
Hey Earl. Lighten up man. You gotta sound a little more human. Where talking about eternal happiness here.
Have you asked Jesus to help you with the questions of your heart? Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
And a partridge in a pear tree...
If I said I was talking to Jesus and I have a relationship with him somehow that's accepted. If I told you I pray and talk to Santa Claus and I have a relationship with him him you would think I'm crazy. But in reality it's the same thing. Jesus is a myth. Man created god in his own image.
The cardinals are between a rock and hard place because of the following:
Jesus was an illiterate Jewish peasant/carpenter/simple preacher man who suffered from hallucinations (or “mythicizing” from P, M, M, L and J) and who has been characterized anywhere from the Messiah from Nazareth to a mythical character from mythical Nazareth to a ma-mzer from Nazareth (Professor Bruce Chilton, in his book Rabbi Jesus). An-alyses of Jesus’ life by many contemporary NT scholars (e.g. Professors Ludemann, Crossan, Borg and Fredriksen, ) via the NT and related doc-uments have concluded that only about 30% of Jesus' sayings and ways noted in the NT were authentic. The rest being embellishments (e.g. miracles)/hallucinations made/had by the NT authors to impress various Christian, Jewish and Pagan sects.
The 30% of the NT that is "authentic Jesus" like everything in life was borrowed/plagiarized and/or improved from those who came before. In Jesus' case, it was the ways and sayings of the Babylonians, Greeks, Persians, Egyptians, Hitt-ites, Canaanites, OT, John the Baptizer and possibly the ways and sayings of traveling Greek Cynics.
For added "pizzazz", Catholic theologians divided god the singularity into three persons and invented atonement as an added guilt trip for the "pew people" to go along with this trinity of overseers. By doing so, they made god the padre into god the "filicider".
Current RCC problems:
Too many pedophiliac priests, an all-male, mostly white hierarchy, atonement theology and original sin!!!!
AB! Did you have the hiccups during your comment?
This video is garbage and not worth watching. This poster is only trying to get hits for the youtube site which is why they keep posting their videos here.

Prayer changes things
LOL. sad and ridiculous.
Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.
An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.
The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!:`
Dear RCC Cardinals et al,
Your days are numbered as the Internet to include CNN globally promulgates the truth about religion. A summary:
Putting the kibosh/”google” on all religion in less than ten seconds: Priceless !!!
• As far as one knows or can tell, there was no Abraham i.e. the foundations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are non-existent.
• As far as one knows or can tell, there was no Moses i.e the pillars of Judaism, Christianity and Islam have no strength of purpose.
• There was no Gabriel i.e. Islam fails as a religion. Christianity partially fails.
• There was no Easter i.e. Christianity completely fails as a religion.
• There was no Moroni i.e. Mormonism is nothing more than a business cult.
• Sacred/revered cows, monkey gods, castes, reincarnations and therefore Hinduism fails as a religion.
• Fat Buddhas here, skinny Buddhas there, reincarnated/reborn Buddhas everywhere makes for a no on Buddhism.
Added details available upon written request.
Christians, why don’t you research the origin of your religion and learn the truth. Why? I don’t understand why you refuse to accept reality.
We have (at least I have, and many I know have), and we've found the evidence convincing enough for us. I'm curious, did you start with the premise that God does not exist and therefore conclude all of the evidence must be false? Or did you look at the evidence and then conclude God does not exist?
Esquire, there is no credible evidence for the existence of your Jeebus or his only be-rotten sky daddy. There is credible evidence that the bible is comprised of mostly fiction. If you came to your belief after "examining evidence" either you didn't examine it properly or you have no idea what constitutes credible evidence.
Why doesn't Jesus appear to everyone and prove that he is resurrected, just like he appeared to Paul? There is nothing to stop Jesus from materializing in your kitchen tonight to have a personal chat with you. And if you think about it, Jesus really does need to appear to each of us. If Paul needed a personal visit from Jesus to know that Jesus was resurrected, then why wouldn't you?
" So each generation can set it's hope anew on God, remembering His glorious miracles and obeying His commands. Then they will not be like their ancestors- stubborn, rebellious and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God." Psalm 78:7-8
It's never too late for an atheist to shed his hardheartedness against the LORD. I pray that God will change you. Good night and God bless...
It's never too late to learn the difference between "its" and "it's," but you don't seem to be capable.
Good night CorrectlyCenter. Perhaps Satan will visit you in dreams.
The bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true therefore the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true..
And never to late for a believer in god to actually do some rational thinking for once. abandon the magical thinking. and, see that god, the easter bunny, little bo peep, jesus, the tooth fairy, the blessed virgin mary, little red riding hood, and the infalllible pope all have one thing in common – they are fairy tales.
