He created the heavens and the earth truthfully. He rolls the night over the day, and rolls the day over the night… (39:5)

The Arabic word for “roll” is “yukewiru.” The word is used to depict the act of wrapping a turban around someone’s head. This word was also used in the sense of overlapping of the night and day and vice versa. The reason for the day’s turning into night and the night’s turning into day is due to the spheroid form of the earth. In this verse also we observe implied the sphericity of the world.

During the Prophet’s lifetime it was impossible to scientifically determine the correct view. The scientific demonstration of the statements of the Quran was only possible after the lapse of a millennium. Why were these scientific explanations in the Quran-beyond the comprehension of the Prophet’s contemporaries, contradicting the hypotheses prevalent at the time and likely to cause harm to their messenger, certainly being of no benefit to him? We see that the Quran’s objective is to tell the truth at all costs. The fact that these phenomena could be explained thanks to the advance of science one thousand years later testifies to the universal address of the Quran and its character; it addresses not only its own time, but also the entirety of humanity until the end of the world.

When the astronomers went to space, they bore witness to this statement of the Quran and took photographs. The face of the world facing the sun was day, while the other side was night. The rotation of the world around its own axis made the night and day alternate, and in some parts the transition from day to night took place simultaneously.

The phenomena related to the roundness of the world and the succession of days and nights are the sine qua non conditions of our life on earth. Had our world not been of a spherical shape, had night and day not succeeded each other thanks to its rotation, life on the face of the earth exposed to heat would be extinct and in the portion left in the shade vegetation would not thrive. God’s omniscience, omnipotence and art, His perfect design of everything, and the miraculous character of the Book are better understood as we contemplate them.

Facts are working, truth is talking, but those disbelievers living in another world

Humans were no less intelligent at the time that your prophet wrote the Quran. Observers could see ships disappear over the horizon (and return later - not fall off the edge), which indicated that the earth's surface was curved. The sun could be observed as spherical, as was the moon. And the day and night on the moon was clearly visible. The Quran was stating nothing that was not already obvious in this regard.

In fact, since the Quran proclaims that a god exists, in the absense of any evidence, the book is actually unscientific in the extreme.

A perfectly designed world that killed over 200,000 innocent people were extinguished by the tsunami in Sumatra. A perfectly designed world where over 99% of all the lifeforms that ever existed were pushed into extinction. A world that will be getting increasingly hotter from an ever-warming sun. A world where meteors sometimes catastrophically wipe out entire peoples (Clovis). An entire universe beyond the spec of our solar system where galaxies collide, black holes consume stars, and supernovas destroy surrounding stars and solar systems ... for billions of years, well before people walked the earth. That doesn't sound like perfection, it sounds like chaos, and the present slow but transient state of our universe.

June 28, 2013 — Tracking the growth of dinosaurs and how they changed as they grew is difficult. @Sam Yaza because the government originally adopted God's version of marriage, not the new version. Seems crazy our country grew to what it was under Christian principles, doesn't it.

the nation was founded under pagan and deist principles not christian. take a look at the national mall. the whole country was founded on the pagan principle of do what you want and harm none not to mention a secular idea of allowing others to worship other gods which is country to the bible, the god Osiris is on the dollar bill

sorry kerm I have to respond to the but, God only kills to clean out the trash and looks like he is about to do it again. Amazing how that man Jesus knew so much about the time we are living in. He tells us in Matthew 24, Luke 17, 21, Mark 13, and so many places about what to look for How did he know about earthquakes all over the world? Wars in one place after another and now the pervs taking over (good one to watch for, getting close) and so many other prophecies that are being fulfilled. How did that ignorant carpenter walking around in the desert in sandals know when these things would be. Bible chronology, history and the present scene of this world testify to his knowledge but how did He know? Be careful critics, big rats produce little rats and the extermination is really needed.

      June 28, 2013 at 12:37 pm |
    • WRONG

And abortion, by that same token, is also God's will, otherwise he would not have given an abortion-producing potion in the Bible. Shut up. Stop defending a murderous GOD.

Prozac isn't meant for long-term therapy. It never was. Used correctly, and with proper monitoring, it is an effective tool.

One thing you are not is an effective tool. Just a tool.

but? good questions if you are serious and there are answers if you are really interested but the Creator has the right to clean up this earth at the time he chooses and you have to admit that man has made a mess of this planet and is having a problem cleaning it up himself. As far as who and what is trash it is up to him to decide and he sets out the laws and principles in the Bible. All we have to do is learn what the Bible really teaches. The religions of this world have lied to us for so long that people have become disgusted with them and God but what they teach is misleading and just financially profitable for them. As far as heaven goes I believe God has made the earth for men and he plans to clean it up for those of us that really want to live on it and take care of it properly. If you want scriptures to back up what I am saying let me know and I will be glad to share but if you are just looking for a debate, please do not waste our time. peace, j

I do not know who or what will be cleansed from this earth but I do know it needs it and he promises to take care of it. All I do is respond to sincere questions and some not so to share what I have learned. Many people enjoy learning what the Bible really teaches but that is up to them and no one forces anyone to do anything including our Creator who gives us the choice but offers something wonderful to those who want to do his will. Those who do not will have to answer one day but that is just what I have learned. Interested? Peace, j

  5. If

If God kills/will kill (per your own bible) so many humans/gays, isn't THAT more of a SIN than being "created" human/gay by that same God?

    June 28, 2013 at 9:45 am |
    • james

The God that made these gays is not the God that will put an end to them, so keep on the watch it is good to read Matt.24:37-39 and Luke 17:26-30 just for starters.

      June 28, 2013 at 12:43 pm |
    • Just sayin...

Uhh, James, so you've got a multitude of creators in your religion? Which polythiestic religion is that? Got an Aphrodite and a Zeus in there? How bout a Dionysius to spread the creatin. Love those less than fully powerful, capable gods.

      June 28, 2013 at 12:53 pm |
    • james

Should love the all powerful one. He has given all the others the time needed to prove they were never meant to rule this world but that is what man wanted and now he will have to make a decision, Who to listen to, the One who created this earth and gave man life or the one that man chose as his god, (see Gen.3) and then go to the end of the book to see the rest of the story at Rev.12:9-12 for starters will do. Check back if you are interested in more.

So which humans are OK to be murdered by your god? Just the Gays? Pervs (as you call them) such as your priests?

      June 28, 2013 at 1:54 pm |
    • james

Those priests are the worst, please do not call them mine. They have been misleading man for long enough and the Bible says they are going to receive their reward in full and it will not be heaven. What I am talking about is the Creator who has the right and wisdom to decide who and what are left when he does the cleansing of this planet and He is teaching people all over the world what the Bible really teaches and how to live in line with what he knows is best for us. If you are interested let me know but just looking for an argument? I am too busy. thanks, peace, j

The creation story that appears in Genesis is the invention of the writer. The man who wrote Genesis wasn't present at the creation of the universe. It's a story. It's fiction.

One more about miracles in Quran:

Then We developed the drop into a hanging, then developed the hanging into a chewed lump of flesh.(23:14)

The Quran continues displaying its miracles in its description of “alaq” succeeded by the “mudga” (chewed lump of flesh) stage. As a matter of fact, the embryo in the uterus has the appearance of a chewed lump of flesh, a tiny piece of flesh. (22: 5), speaks “of chewed lump of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed,”

which is a good description of the aspect of the fetus. The aspect presented to our sight is of an indented figure whose head, feet and internal organs have begun to develop (partly formed, partly unformed).

Prof. Keith L. Moore says that he had a model made in plastic in the shape of an embryo and bit on it, leaving the marks of his teeth; this seemed to be an exact reproduction of an embryo, and explained the indentation referred to in the Quran

    June 28, 2013 at 3:41 am |
    • EnjaySea

Sculptures depicting human fetuses have been found as far back as 3,000 years ago. Do you think we didn't know what fetuses looked like until the 20th century? The fact that they are described in the Quran is not significant.

    read this also:

He has let free the two seas meeting together. (55:19)
Between them there is a barrier which they do not transgress. (55:20)

A famous French oceanographer, J. Cousteau, gives the following account as a result of his studies in water barriers: “We studied the assertions by certain researchers about barriers separating seas, and noticed that the Mediterranean Sea had its own salinity and density and housed autochthonous fauna and flora. Then we examined the water of the Atlantic Ocean and discovered features entirely different from those of the Mediterranean Sea. According to our expectations, these two seas that merged in the strait of Gibraltar should present similar characteristics in terms of salinity, density and other properties. The two seas presented different features even though they were adjacent. This greatly puzzled us. An incredible barrier prevented the two seas from coming together. The same sort of a barrier had also been observed in Bab Al-Mandab in the Gulf of Aden connecting with the Red Sea.

For those atheists who don't believe in anything, and for Christians who don't believe in Quran please read this:
Do not these disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were an integrated mass, which We then split, and from water We made all living things? Will they not believe even then? (21:30)
With power did We construct Heaven. Verily, We are expanding it. (51:47)
On that day We will fold the heaven, like the folding of a book. Just as We initiated the first creation, We will revert it. This is Our promise. We will certainly fulfill it. (21:104)
The greatness of the Quran, which stated 1400 years ago that the universe was created from the one primordial wholeness(which we are calling the big bang theory), that it expanded, and that it would shrink back -at a time when all scientific evidence was lacking- is understood better today with the advance of science and the discovery of the mystery of the universe.

      All BS.
Islam is a moon god cult.
Allah is the same god that used to be called the god "Sin". Sin was the moon god in Arabia, and ole Mo and his family all worshiped Sin.
Al-Ilah was the crescent phase of the moon god, which is why the crescent moon is ubiquitous in Islam.
In the OT they were told time and again to stop worshiping the pagan god Sin.
The Qur'an is just more made up human poetry. It's nice poetry. Nothing more.

I haven't used these twin warning scriptures in a long time... i guess now is an appropriate time again. Anyone with eyes and a sound mind, pay attention to these warnings:

1Ti 4:1-3 KJV Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (2) Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; (3) Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

2Ti 3:1-5 KJV This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Also for the sake of the few genuine searchers of these last days:

Mat 24:11-14 KJV And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Do YOU think that the ten commandments were written by god's finger? If you do, then you don't believe the bible which states that Moses destroyed those ten commandments when he came down from meeting with god and saw the children of Israel worshiping a golden calf.

The ten commandments you're talking about are completely different than the ones god supposedly wrote with his finger and according to scripture Moses wrote down the second set. God can't seem to keep his sh!t together.

This is what happens when you elect gay politicians into office (for example, Justice Anthony Kennedy). The first thing they'll want to do is to pass laws that benefit gays – despite the fact that gays are immoral. It's inevitable. So if you want to have moral laws in our society, then don't vote an immoral person into office…

None of the Justices on the SCOTUS were elected. They were appointed.
And this decision was made on the basis of equality. Nothing more, and nothing less.
Whatever your opinion is about gay people, there is nothing in the Constitution about the illegality of one's sexuality. There is, however, much about treating the citizens of the US equally. That is why the EPC was established in the first place, and this is what they used to arrive at the decision they did.

"This is what happens when you elect gay politicians into office (for example, Justice Anthony Kennedy)."

      1. Supreme Court justices aren't elected, they're appointed by the president, and confirmed by congress.
      2. Justice Anthony Kennedy isn't gay. The articles you saw today were saying he's gay-friendly. Quite a difference.
      3. You should probably change your name from Real Wisdom, to something more applicable.

Yeshua did not nullify the Towrah(instructions, law):
Mat 5:19 "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches [them], he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Anyone teaching that He did can look forward to being "least in the kingdom" at best-unless you're one those described here:
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Mat 7:22 "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
Mat 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

One sect calls homosexuality an abomination while the next one (over four million members) in the same denomination is already performing gay marriage. One sect, the Westboro Baptist Church believes Americans are being killed at war because America is too kind to "fags". Many of these sects are equally divergent on the roles of women in society.

One sect believes that Jesus and Satan were brothers and that Christ will return to Jerusalem AND Jackson County, Missouri. Some believe the Pope is the Antichrist. Some believe Obama is the Antichrist.

Some believe that celibacy is the only option for certain people, or for people in certain positions. Many of the people from these same institutions advocate against abortion, but pretend not to understand the realistic benefit of the morning after pill or even basic contraception; their unrealistic wishful thinking is causing the death of many at the hands of disease.

Recently we learned from CNN of a child dying when their parents, members of a Christian sect in Philadelphia, as part of their faith, refused medical care. When incidents like the subject of this article come to light, many Christians are only too ready to try explain how another Christian's interpretation of ancient "scripture" is not quite right. Thirty one states have child abuse religious exemption laws. Faith healing churches have been linked to 2 dozen child deaths.

Conflicted right from the start, Christianity has resulted in extreme divisions, with each division trying to assert itself as some true messenger of the word of the Christian God.

Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth.

Poster "HeavenSent" in the article on religious convictions says "Do gays still believe they were born that way?"

Christianity never likes being told it's out of date or just outright wrong. But that's where things stand right now on the topic of homosexuality. A lot of good scripture is going to do anyone when they simply fall behind current science.

Current psychology and biology both tell us differently. Read about epigenetics. It's not new although there was a very interesting recent article relating to homosexuality in last December's Quarterly Review of Biology. But we've known about the evidence of epigenetics in nature for quite some time.

    Read about epigenetics and aphids:

People psychotic disorders often can't relate socially to other people who will avoid them. Here they can hope to be heard and often get a response.
