There's this calculus party, and all the functions are invited.

ln(x) is talking to some trig functions, when he sees his friend ex sulking in a corner.

    ln(x): "What's wrong ex?"

    ex: "I'm so lonely!"

ln(x): "Well, you should go integrate yourself into the crowd!"

ex looks up and cries, "It won't make a difference!"

The gods never said that. Salomon had 300 wives and no gods objected. The Patriarchs had multiple wives, and no gods objected. This is NOT a theocracy. If you want to live in a theocracy, move to Iran, and see how you like them apples.

And for the people who say there is a God – they don't agree on the subject. Good case you have there, Robert.

Nowhere in the bible does it say one man one woman. Quote the exact verse that says that. It doesn't exist, and you know it.

Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubine. Bible never said he was wrong to do that.

The bible also says you can't wear clothing from two different fibers. Do you follow that? I bet you don't.
The bible says not to eat shellfish. Do you follow that? I bet you don't.
The bible says not to cut your hair. Do you follow that? I bet you don't.

So, since you aren't following the bible, who are you tell others to? Your hypocrisy is laughable and incredibly transparent.

The bishop is exactly right. Anyone in ministry who says otherwise is a false prophet, a wolf in sheep's clothing, who is accursed (i.e., damned to Hell). And anyone who thinks this is a good thing is also accursed as are the Supreme Curt Justices who made the ruling AND the Democrats who saw to it that the court was stocked with such grossly depraved personns and morally bankrupt activist judges.

      June 26, 2013 at 4:35 pm |
    • realbuckyball

The laws in the Old Testament came from an ancient culture, which is why they ended up in the Bible.
The Bible was NOT the origin of the customs. No one "accursed". "Judge not lest ye be judged".
There is no reason modern humans need to live by a book of ancient customs, which were then later sanctioned by a religion.
Religion was not the origin of the customs. NOTHING in the Bible was unique. Everything came from the culture.
There were three levels of abominations. This was the lowest, equal to eating with an Egyptian. There was no notion of "se'xual orientation". The law was against assumed STRAIGHT men having s'ex with straight men.

      June 26, 2013 at 4:41 pm |
    • libber8ed

Janie: How very blessed you must be as it appears that God came to you and delegated to you His right to pass judgment and to proclaim who is a sinner and cursed. That is what has happened, isn't it? Why don't you just accept what you vindictive, self-righteous, biased, hate-filled Bible beaters always say when someone encounters a consequence they didn't want or a cross to bear: "It's God's Will."

God be merciful to me a sinner.

    Luke 18:

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give t.ithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Note: Some words hyphenated to defeat an obvious word filter. ...

    The Brutal Effects of Stupidity:

: The failures of the widely used birth "control" methods i.e. the Pill (8.7% actual failure rate) and male con-dom (17.4% actual failure rate) have led to the large rate of abortions and S-TDs in the USA. Men and women must either recognize their responsibilities by using the Pill or co-ndoms properly and/or use safer methods in order to reduce the epidemics of abortion and S-TDs.- Failure rate statistics provided by the Gut-tmacher Inst-itute. Unfortunately they do not give the statistics for doubling up i.e. using a combination of the Pill and a condom.

Added information before making your next move:

"Se-xually transmitted diseases (STDs) remain a major public health challenge in the United States. While substantial progress has been made in preventing, diagnosing, and treating certain S-TDs in recent years, CDC estimates that approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among young people ages 15 to 24.1 In addition to the physical and psy-ch-ological consequences of S-TDs, these diseases also exact a tremendous economic toll. Direct medical costs as-sociated with STDs in the United States are estimated at up to $14.7 billion annually in 2006 dollars."

"Adolescents don’t think or-al se-x is something to worry about (even though is becoming a major cause of throat cancer)," said Bonnie Halpern-Felsher professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. "They view it as a way to have intimacy without having 's-ex.'" (Maybe it should be called the Bill Clinton Syndrome !!)

Obviously, political leaders in both parties, Planned Parenthood, parents, the "stupid part of the USA" and the educational system have failed miserably on many fronts.

Footballer Aaron Hernandez arrested for murdering 27-year-old Odin Lloyd last week. Lloyd's sister, Olivia Thibou, said she was glad to hear about Hernandez's arrest. "God is great," she said.

So ... the omnipotent Christian god who controls everything ... he must have consciously caused or knowingly allowed or unwittingly did not prevent the slaughter of Olivia's brother. And she thinks he's "great"

what a brainwashed bunch you are!

With a little more maturity you'll realize that not everyone who disagrees with you is brainwashed. And your theology comes from The Little Pop-Up Book of Athiest Sayings. God can control everything, but does not. That is why you are a free agent.

My thoughts exactly... e.g. "god is great for sparing my famiiy" but they never say "god is a SOB for indiscriminatly wiping out my town" or... "why did god kill my fellow christians, but failed to kill those evil gay atheists?"

Yes Jebus is great. He sends a tornado and kills 100 babies, but saves 2 people. Yes indeed. Jebus is merciful.

God is not a puppet-master. You can choose to do good or evil, but the consequences are not the same.
I don't understand how you alleged, critical thinkers can believe that the universe just is and you just exist without any beginning or cause. THAT'S illogical.

No. Thankfully, we don't live a country that is under a dictatorship. As today's ruling indicated.

Apparently gay people are hard to offend. For the last forty years, the rest of society has been working overtime to make marriage unnecessary and irrelevant. 60% divorce rate. Wife swapping in the 70s. Back then a few bold people said,
" It's only a piece of paper lets shack up." Next, many thousands doing the same thing. It went from "We can think for ourselves !" to "But everyone's doing it." Sheep. And now, this culture invites gay people to be a part of this frivolous sham called marriage.

    June 26, 2013 at 3:34 pm |
    • I'm not a GOPer, nor do I play one on TV

And who was it that made "marriage" the worthless frivolous sham you describe?

At least 80% of the people that did that were Christians.

  20. Doc Vestibule

This is nothing more than the federal government giving into the Gay Militia's threats.
Next they'll be mincing in formation all the way down to the schools where they'll try and recruit our children.
Well I for one won't allow it, no matter how fabulous the uniforms are.

    • EnjaySea

You mean the same schools where Christians want to recruit the children into the Christian Militia, by imposing their religion on the students with daily prayer?

    • Lucifer's Evil Twin

I've seen Doc post for a couple of years now... and I can say that you are a handle stealing troll

      June 26, 2013 at 3:55 pm |
    • Truth Prevails :-)

This is definitely a troll stealing Doc's handle.
Doc is from Ontario, Canada. Gay marriage has been legal here since the early 2000's.
