Rand Paul: Obama won't stop war on Christianity

Washington (CNN) – Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky devoted his speech to the socially conservative Values Voter Summit to “a war on Christianity” that is being waged by “fanatics of Islam.”

Much of Paul’s speech was a list of violence against Christians across the Muslim world, highlighting what he said was “not a little problem” and something that is “not going away quickly.”

“Across the globe, Christians are under attack almost as if we lived in the Middle Ages or we lived under early pagan Roman rule,” Paul said. “This administration does nothing to stop it and it can be argued that it is giving aid and comfort to those who tolerate these crimes.”

Perhaps Senator Rand needs to crack a Bible once in a while.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

RAND PAUL – Won't Stop GOP Extremeism –
It's the only support he gets in his party, the few moderates in the GOP keep their distance from him because he is the kiss of death for them!

Barack Obama isn't more powerful than GOD therefore, he can't win a war against GOD. Nor can the devil. So stop the fear mongering. It is a lie !!!!

"almost as if we lived in the Middle Ages" ...when the Vatican sanctioned and even encouraged Christians to go forth and slaughter Muslims by the thousand to "retake the holy land"....yea, great analogy bro.

Read the Quran and Hadith. "War is deceit" Qur'an 2:190 , the Qur'an's first mention of Jihad, you'll find this passage: "Jihad is holy fighting in Allah’s Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry. It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars. By Jihad, Islam is established, . Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this duty, dies with one of the qualities of a hypocrite."There is nothing peaceful about Islam. Muhammad’s dogma breeds ruthless killers. At his direction Muslims will continue to terrorize the world until there are no more non-Muslims.

The American media is partial towards persecution towards Christians. One thing I realized while on Europe was that US news do not report on persecution towards Christians. Media talks large about people having phobias against Muslims despite causing so much damage to this world, but turns a blind eye towards murders of Christians.

At least, one Rand Paul talks for the oppressed.

He wants to rant about what is being done to Christians? How about what "Christians" are doing to "Christians" here in the good old USA. Seems to me that constantly voting to block anything that would help the people of this country that are in the most need seems very un-Christian like. The Tea Party, of which Rand Paul is such a darling, appear to think that you are only "Christian" if you think and behave exactly as they deem you should. It will be a real surprise to many of them on Judgement Day when they find out THEY are the biggest sinners. Taking religion out of the equation, this man seems to be so totally puffed up about himself that he is blind to his own hypocrisy.

This man, Dr. Rand Paul, is an embarrassment.
He clearly has a very superficial knowledge of US public policy and he understands even less of world events.

He doesn't know what plagiarism means and he does not understand how to have a rational discussion of religious persecution that it taking place around the world: Muslim fanatics are persecuting Coptic Christians in Egypt; Settlers and Buddhist fanatics are persecuting Muslims in Israel and Indonesia; in Mali Salafist fanatics are persecuting other Muslims and Christians,,, there is a very long list, but it is not "Christians are under attack almost as if we lived in the Middle Ages or we lived under early pagan Roman rule..." Dr. Paul exhibits a Classic comic-book understanding of these events.

Is this ignoramus all that the GOP has for "values?"

Coptic Christians ARE under attack along with Christians in Sudan being subjected to genocide & slavery by Muslims for well over a decade. Coptic Christians are among the oldest sects in the middle east and have existed centuries before Islam. Yes, Coptics deserved support & protection from the U.S & its hypocrite butcher in chief who falsely claims to be Christian but is not a real Christian-evidenced by his refusal to help save the lives of real Christians. Despite that he destroys lives daily waging war. Shut your ignorant mouth if you can't think BEFORE you speak.

        JJ truth,

Speaking of ignorant, the last Republican president and his party started a $2,000,000,000,000 war for false reasons. In spite of his "talking to God frequently", he ended up sending more Americans to die than in 9/11 and ove 30,000 Americans were wounded.

@JJ Truth : You have to be kidding. Yes, there are Christians being persecuted all over the world. In fact, there are all *kinds* of people being persecuted all over the world. As has been the case for thousands of years. Be honest though – because you are obviously a conservative, Obama is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't with you. If he intervenes somewhere, you will say "we aren't the world's police force!" And if he doesn't you will say he does nothing and lets people suffer.

And by the way, who are you to say who is, and is not, a Christian? James 4:14 "There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?"

Have you lived a perfect Christian life? Have you never done something that someone would then say, "JJ Truth claims to be a Christian, but he isn't because he did .... ?" Try reading Matthew 7:1-5, ALL of it. Then tell me you have the legitimacy to stand in judgement of Barack Obama's Christian faith. Until then, you, Rand Paul, and all the other self-pronounced "Values Voters" can help yourselves to a big ol helping of Shut the F UP.

        November 5, 2013 at 4:07 pm |
        • False Christians are an abomination to Christ

          @ Values Voter –
way to show how NOT to be Christlike.
You really think that Jesus would sanction your kind of values when you curse out people the way you do??? Wow... You need to read Matthew Chapter 5...ALL of it!!!!
          Shame on you!

"The republicans are acting far less than Christians" And the dems are any better? So don't vote for either next time. Want to break the cycle? Want to really make difference besides rant in another blog placed by an agency that does better at theatrics than news? Don't vote for either party. STOP BIPARTISAN POLITICS – VOTE OUT THE CONGRESS THAT DID THE LEAST.

Of course we hate Christians! Thousands of years ago someone said:

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19

And you and I of the world because we love what we do, when we do, how we do, regardless of what Christian beliefs say. Imagine all the things we'd have to give up to obey a god! But wait! We do have gods! Like that car you wash twice a week or that drug you use to escape reality!

    And you are right! Christians are not perfect: Romans 3:23 For *all* have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Christian is "trying to be" like Christ. Black, white, gay, straight, smoker, non-smoker – we are equal.God hates sine – not people.

But if Christians are trying to be like Christ why are they always talking about the things I do and want and making me feel bad?

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
If you saw someone headed for a disaster would you not worn them? Would you not expect a life guard at the pool to warn your child of impending danger?

Christians are not bad people. For one, I know where they stand on the issues. Two, they mean well and balance out a society that has embraced the sensual and self-indulging. They keep the whole thing from going sour. Just because they speak out against things I do not believe does not make the beliefs invalid.

Heaven is not full of good or perfect people. It is filled with SAVED people.
Romans 10:13 For *whosoever* shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now stop bashing Christians and actually read a bible.
