McCain: I was 'bris' close to Jewish conversion

(CNN) – At the American Israel Public Affairs Conference on Monday, Sen. John McCain of Arizona joked that, because of his close friendship with former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, he observed a lot of Judaism's Sabbath laws.

"I've had to go through all this all these years and I've gotten none of the benefits," McCain told the crowd. "So I'm announcing my conversion to Judaism."

He might've gone through with it, the senator said, but for one little thing...

  2. His Panic

I heard that senile man is still going around making a clown of himself warmongering all over.
Did he ever learn anything in Nam? No he did not!! :-( :-(
Not only him but most of his kind did not either. They are still going around doing conferences and meeting of all sorts, calling the Media and the yellow Press to parrot their warmongering ideologies. Is very easy to do that for a lot of people. Since their way of thinking is that those wars will be fought by SEOSEC's.

Most of the populace who follow after these including many "christians", are so fascinated and enamored with the military and all things military, they don't even think of joining the effort. So long as SEOSEC's are available to be sent to wars here, there and everywhere. That could explain in part why, an estimated 20% or more of the US Military is Foreign born non-citizens, more than 14% are women (manly women) and up to 30% are obese.

The biggest phonies of them all are the ones that claim to be "ministers" and "christians". Who back in the days Avoided the Draft by claiming Conscience Objections, joining mission groups and certain religious denominations or enrolling in "Seminaries". Now 41 years after the Draft was abolished these old gizzards have the same mentality they had then; Let SEOSEC's do the dirty job of pushing the tanks out of the mud or take a shot for God and Country. Because they know there is no DRAFT, therefore they rest confident their grandsons won't be Drafted.

Do the Country a big favor Senator McCain and retire back to the hill country of AZ. ;-)

  3. Reality

    Once again:

Religion is fast becoming irrelevant in today's world as the pedophilia scandals have opened up our eyes and minds to the crumbling theological and historical foundations of Christianity and all religions in general.

Whaaat!!! Just a couple of days away and; what do I find in the Blog? More Evidence on top of more evidence that atheism is Total stupidity. :-P All over the Blog here there, anywhere and everywhere, all the time anytime, every single time and Forevermore atheism is Total stupidity. That's why men of reason and reasonable men are not listening to atheists tantrums, tirades, rants and whining. Sure we hear your complaining and boohooing but we're not really listening to you.

think McCain would have gone all the way in his circ.umcision by getting a rabbi to suck the blood from the wound when his foreskin was cut off? metzitzah! yep, rabbis put their mouth on a baby boy's p.enis and suck on it. nothing like a little oral after some genital mutilation on a child...

      March 6, 2014 at 6:58 am |
      • Akira

        He is not joking.
Babies have been infected with fluid exchange diseases by sick rabbis.

        March 6, 2014 at 12:35 pm |
        • derado8

I know. Some ancient rituals really need a 21st century update.

          March 6, 2014 at 12:46 pm |
        • Salero21

Say whaaat!!! Really Sharkira and may we know from you of all people, what a 21st century update to that will look like? Was is a hard work day at the office today?

          March 6, 2014 at 4:13 pm |
        • Akira

What are you talking about now, Salero? You APPROVE of rabbis passing HIV and other fluid exchange diseases?

          Wow.

          March 6, 2014 at 4:26 pm |
        • Akira

Although I suppose the ritual doesn't have to change; but it would be nice if the rabbis could show some integrity and not perform this knowing they may infect innocent children.

          March 6, 2014 at 4:32 pm |
        • Salero21

I asked you first; Care to answer? Or was it too hard at the office today?

          March 6, 2014 at 4:44 pm |
        • Akira

I don't work in an office.

          March 6, 2014 at 4:48 pm |
        • Akira

And a 21st century update would be discarding the idea of a rabbi sucking the blood of a newly circumcised baby boy, instead using hygienic methods to treat the resulting wound.

          Dies that answer your question?

    God did not create sin.

You can choose to sin, but God does not make that choice for you to sin.

The same is true for Satan, God did not choose for Satan to rebel.

The choice is clear, sin or repent. To repent one needs the aid of the Holy Spirit.

In other words, consider your life a race that you must run to honor your creator and not your evil side and enemy who tempts you.

    March 5, 2014 at 1:42 pm |
    • In Santa We Trust

If a god created the universe and all in it, it must have created sin.

      • Austin

Did you create your childrens faults? Not really. But you gave them the glitch.

Since christ is co creator it seems that when they saw that it was good that they must have known that with satan falling that there would arise our choices inclduding the pain and sin.

The only way for a true experience with feeling, the creators must have chose to allow pain.

We all have pain and rejecting God adds exponentially to pain

We have been given the keys to eternal life. Have faith that this is meant for you. And it has truly been given to you to fully receive .

Take one step into faith with God as the one who stamps you with a seal if supernatural loving approval and insight into the glory of his presence.

        Now. The lord is there.

Trees and bike paths ,roads for undeveloped neighborhoods and recreational areas are more valuable than poor people are.

We need thousands of trees along the interstate in bfe.

          They are pretty.

Austin thank you for hiring a homeless man. Seriously this is one step in the process of fixing homelessness. And VETS especially. I swear I feel like when they come home we should all chip in buy them a house. They've earned it more than anybody. Cut congress salary to pay for it.

I help volunteer at a homeless shelter and know many vets, both young AND old...PSTD isn't ant greater or lesser because of the war they were in.

How can you claim god did not choose satan to rebel.
If god knows everything that is going to happen then he knew it was going to happen and planned it that way.
He also supposedly cannot make mistakes so he also apparently created satan in such a manner as to allow rebellion.

I am personally a christian and people like Huckabee and McCain make me want to wretch.

Mike Huckabee of all people and ANYONE who simply casts a second vote for George Bush is picking up where hitler left off.

and here we go again with russia. Can we add the 850,000 dead in the ww1 for the land of Israel, the 1,000,000 dead in afghanastan and Iraq, and start to realize that we are a menace to the world because as cowards we cast votes and have a system where our leaders are out of control.

Our leaders are a mob of coorperate banksters .

I personally see bank leans dissolved every year in rampant injustice of fraud and financial havock being reaped on innocent people who are denied justice here in our own country. We are absolutely bankrupt. Our cause is not worth to push off on every country we can exploit for gain.

we have our own unsolved problems. and our double standard for killing people is the true unchecked terrorism.

Akira. Mccain is a war advocate.

War is not the spiritual walk that God almighty has given us.

Peace and forgiveness and patience . Make no mistakethat satan will make war. And until christ returns.......SATAN IS garunteed to run the world.

No one can resist satans procession successfully. You have a hgher calling to faith and servanthood in the gospel of eternal life.

Its a trade. Trust God he is the only one who can deliver the world. Wait on the lord in peace and quiet within.

The only hope the world had is Christ. Mccain is disobedient . Do you see him spreading the gospel?

Hes a wolf. The only hope for peace has always been the supernatural healing of the holy spirit. Not war.

The only war for us is after christ returns. Not before.

          Mccain from vietnam to iraq?

          He is hopeless .

If he cared he would drop bibles and not bombs.

How about having exactly the same empathy for those whom McCain bombed when they were among the poor and miserable of the world. How about asking what was gain or lost because of the Undeclared by Congress war in Vietnam. That so called "war" in case you ignore as is customary for you, was never declared by Congress upon the request of the POTUS. Still the Media, politicians and the rest of the populace refer to it that way to this day.

I don't have any Favoritism toward them him or you, not now neither then. The people were already POOR he Volunteered to bomb and he did. They pardon him then, tortured but not killed. While it is quite possible that while bombing/destroying he did kill. When he shows sensitivity and stops being a warmonger, sensitivity will be shown to him. You in the meantime are the stupid one.

Say what you'd like about the man's politics, but diminishing his experiences is mean-spirited and petty. And you call yourself Christian?

        Your ignorance is petulant.

I'm not ignoring/dismissing his "experience", but his "experience" was not unique, neither he was the ONLY ONE. He however is the ONLY one of that era who made Political "careerism" of that experience. As a matter of Fact he is the ONLY one I can recall from among his fellows POW's, doing that. He believe it or not, owes them people a big apology and thanks for not killing him.

Torture and imprisonment is all he gets for bombing them, when they were a POOR and Miserable country. I don't call myself a christian nobody really does. Christian is something you either are or are not. Your ignorance as I said is very petulant which is something you are also.

No, your lack of empathy is staggering. Whatever the ignorant reasons we entered Vietnam, joyfully applauding what was done to JMcC is indicative is decidedly not Christ-like.

The petulance, if you even know the meaning if the word, is on your part; I submit that you are just having a wee but of a knee-jerk reaction at being called out on your tastelessness at your obvious enjoyment at the the thought of JMcC's imprisonment.

And I am NOT a fan of McC's politics, but if you want to talk about term limits, which I agree with, that has nothing to do with his POW experience, and NOTHING to do with a war he served in, but didn't start.

          March 5, 2014 at 5:36 pm |
        • His Panic

          @Petulant ignorant Akira,

There you go again with your double standard and hypocritical self serving so called "empathy". Falsely accusing of lack of empathy. I don't have lack of empathy you bimbo. What I don't have is favoritism and prejudice as your ignorant and fanatical accusations demonstrate you do have. Prejudice which BTW and FYI, were a gallop like an apocalyptic horse and pervasive all over the US then. Some if not many of the US service men there, were prejudice racists. Who demonstrated it in the way they referred to that people all the time. And in the way many of them killed the most poor of them. Google for the MY LAI massacre for just an example.

Don't be ridiculous, his "experience" IS NOT a LICENSE to go around for years acting as a warmonger and sending SEOSEC's to wars here there and everywhere. Neither is a qualification for the most high political post. We are talking about two very different and Unrelated animals here. So don't even try to confuse/convolute the two you ignorant.

I can't care less about term limits or any other political gibberish you care about. I don't even vote, because if I did, I'll be saying I do believe in whatever the politician of the day is saying. The reasons the USofA intervened in Nam are known to the whole world namely: RUBBER/LATEX/Strategic geographical business location, location, location among a few others. Your ignorance of that Fact, which is the basis of your base fanaticism is showing for the www to see. And your self serving claim of "empathy" is highly hypocritical and ignorant. You have demonstrated that a plenty already fool!!

You're here to insult. Okay. Have a fine time at it.

All I have said is that no matter what one thinks of his politics, (and no matter that I happen to agree that the Vietnam war was an abomination, along with the other stupid wars we've been in/instigated) the man suffered and one should not be gleeful of the fact he was horribly tortured.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled vitriolic nonsense against people who don't hang on your every word in awe. Have at it.

What I said is that his were not unique, not a License or qualifications for anything. He is no preacher of Grace or of the Love of God. He is not the only one who suffered but he is the ONLY ONE who made a political career about it. He is the ONLY ONE I know, who has made political careerism about his supposed heroism. He owes a people who are still to this day, among the POOR of the world a big apology for bombing their miserable country back in the days. And a big thank-you-all for letting him live. If you do not understand that and insist on twisting, changing and perverting what I said, then you are a big Fat Liar.

If you cannot stop lying try some counseling or medication.
Because let me tell you, liars are not going to make it to the Kingdom or Heaven, they don't even make it for long in the earthly kingdoms before they are caught. Calling things the way they are and not the way you think or pretend to make it look is not insulting. If you are an atheist or do not believe in God, then your allegations of innocent holier-than-thee are just mere hypocrisy. What are you doing in a Belief Blog; Making a clown of yourself?

"You continue to lie!! Which clearly then is a trait most probably congenital and endemic among atheists. Nobody, no one is or has been gleeful of the man sufferings."

          I'm not an atheist.
Every other bit of your rant is just the mutterings of a person who thinks bad puns are clever.

Go ahead. Insult me some more. Your desperation is amusing.
