Vatican police ask women priest campaigners to leave

Activists campaigning for the Catholic Church to ordain women as priests were asked to leave the Vatican on Tuesday.

They argue that women in the priesthood could have helped lessen the impact of the child abuse scandal sweeping the church.

The half-dozen campaigners had unfurled a banner and were handing out leaflets when Vatican police asked them to go.

2° I always hear about the RC faults. What about the protestant persecution of RC in England? What about the persecution by the Calvinist and other protestant denominations in northern Europe ? Why don’t you write a good article about this instead of the old annoying soup about RC?

Where was thye coverage when 150,000 demonstrated in support of the Pope 2 weeks ago? These ladies should join one of the schismatic churches where female ordination is allowed. But the usual nitwits, halfwits, and dimwits chime in to reform the Catholic Church. There are churches out there to join and almost everyone of them was an attempt to reform the Catholic Church and wound up having offshoots which tried to reform the reformed churches ad infinitum. But every new turn has turned the adherents further and further away from Christ.

So many people think that letting priests marry, women be priests, etc. will solve the abuse. What about all the 45,000 different different denominations? They should also be addressed here. There are several different versions of each mainstream church, each time one splits or someone starts another church, it is yet another denomination. Protestant pastors can be married and they still abuse children. Protestant pastors can be women and they still abuse children. There are those in their congregations who abuse children. I know that I am correct in saying that there have probably been far more children abused in these 45,000 different denominations over the past 50 years than in the Roman Catholic Church. BTW, I used to be Methodist (UMC, not to be confused with the other 40-some denominations of Methodism. John Wesley remained an Anglican priest and did not even convert to his own church, that was a mixture of Calvinism and a real "soup" of philosophy including eastern religioun according to the "Methodist Primer"). My, then pastors in succession, were an adulterer, a man who left his family for another man then died of aids and a married child molester (and father) who actually targeted my daughter but did not succeed. When eventually found out, he simply turned up later as the pastor of another denomination down the street! In recent times, the Roman Catholic Church has implemented the VIRTUS program. It is required of all of those who interact with Catholic children. This also includes all relgious and all clerics. It is mandatory in the US Roman Catholic Church to observe the rules that do not permit certain situations with adult/child interaction. I do not know why it has not been implemented universally to include the entire RC Church. I wish that something would happen soon. It is my prayer that these people be weeded out immediately and a lengthly pyschological evaluation administered to all seminary candidates. Child molesters are what they are.....deceivers........being married or being female is absolutely no vaccination for this sickness! Instead of reading a novel about the Church, think for yourself and read the historical truth you will be astonished at what you find and the true understanding you will gain. It has been blamed for much (including over zealous actions of civil authorities) but no one seems to realize how it helped to bring man out of the dark ages or helped to assimilate and educate the hoardes of immigrants that came to the shores of the US (PBS Special). Men have made mistakes but it is the only church founded by Christ instead of denominations begun by mankind. Do you want myth or fact? The Roman Catholic Church is comprised of 12 bodies of the Church and we are all in communion with one another.

Of course. This is the church that burned thousands of women during the Inquisition.

This church is dreaming of the days when they were all powerful. The pope probably sits in his apartment wishing for a return to the good old days of the Inquisition. There is a really good novel about the Church called On This Rock by Dave Leonard. It's a good read and the author's idea of how this church began might explain a lot.

Of course they were asked to leave-as a monarch, the Rat isn't interested in meaningful dialogue with its membership.
