'Son of Hamas' faces deportation

Mosab Hassan Yousef turned his back on his family, his fellow Palestinians and his religion when he allegedly became a spy for Israel.

Yousef is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, one of the most prominent Hamas figures in the West Bank.  Now, the younger Yousef reportedly faces deportation to the Palestinian territory – something that his supporters say could result in his assassination.

Yousef converted from Islam to Christianity before coming to the United States in 2007, where he applied for political asylum.  He was denied that request last year.  Yousef recently published his autobiography, "Son of Hamas," in which he says he was an Israeli spy for a decade.

His claims have been refuted by Hamas, the Palestinian while other analysts say he may be exaggerating.

Recently, the U.S.-based Institute on Religion & Democracy expressed its concern over reports that Yousef could be sent back to the West Bank.  His initial deportation hearing is on June 30, according to the IRD.

The director of IRD's Religious Liberty Program, Faith J.H. McDonnell, said Yousef is a key ally and "a great source of help in understanding what we face in radical Islam."

“The Department of Homeland Security is intent upon deporting as a ‘terrorist’ the man who protected and saved many lives, including those of Americans working for USAID," McDonnell said.

“We are concerned because of the irrationality of the Department of Homeland Security, as well as the danger to Yousef’s life, if he is deported. This threat of deportation says how little the United States government understands radical Islam and the global jihad to impose Islam around the world, to which Yousef testifies."

McDonnell urged Christian groups to contact the Department of Homeland Security's senior attorney in San Diego, California - where his case is being handled - to try to stop the deportation proceedings.

I thought it was an American policy not to deport people who have legally entered the country and will face torture or death in the event of returning back to their homeland. Is this not the case? Pretty sure this would automatically qualify him for refugee status. I have a freind who was supposed to be sent back to Iran, but it was around the time of the elections, and so they canceled the deportation. However, that was in Canada, so perhaps it works differently.

Gosh ! Zionists are very good in making myths, they made me even doubt myself as they made me believe that I was more terrorist the more I was talking about justice and freedom for Palestine.
Zionists are the real terrorists, they terrorize all members of the US senate and congress as well as every sphere of the US politics, media and finance. Zionists also have their hands on other western countries.
Lets end the zionist terrorist Aipac who messed up the world and most importantly lets end the racist Israeli Apartheid.

The US tax payer are funding Talibans , this is absolutly true but did you know that the USA and racist Israelo are on the UN lists of terrorists countries and organizations?
Every country has its own lists of what they define as terrorist.
Iran has Israel in its terrorist list, Israel is on the palestinian's list.
The Human right organization has israel on its lists.
Israel is on all lists ot terrorist in the world , the only lists where it doesn apear its its own list and the USA list where it should be. USA supports the racist israel no matter what crimes it commits, Do you understand now?

So BenLaden will keep up the Islamic war against the rest of the free world.
Will the US really understand who we are really against? The war today is not only in Afganistan and Iraq, it is global against a ruthless killer who does not care if you are Christian, Jewish or Moslem. This has nothing to do with Israel, Gaza, Iraq or Afghanistan. Look at the number of Moslems being killed by Moslems! Why?
Most people in the free world do not and will not understand this nor will so many citizens with freedom understand what this is all about. This is all about having Islam and "their" Islam as the way of life.
In the mean time another person who can help understand all of this will be sent to be slaughtered. Halluliah!

Yes! Israel is on the list of all Islamic terrorist countries.
I ask some questions: if Israel were to miraculously disappear, would Islamists stop killing each other? Stop stoning women for "not dressing modestly? Stop killing a 8 year old boy as a spy?
Get real, get an education, and not one in a madrassiah that teaches some real values in life.

One more time for soonjustice's benefit:

From another blogger with a good idea: "American Muslims agree to leave the United States in a one-for-one exchange for Jews from Israel. Dismantle Israel. Problem solved!"

If that does not work, then:

Israel's formation was approved by the UN in 1948. It should honor the original UN agreement and live within the described borders. Considering the hate generated by passages in the koran, erecting dividing walls between Muslims and Jews is a good idea and should continue. UN forces should control these walls.

And Jerusalem should be made into an international city under the control and protection of the UN.

In the meantime, soonjustice needs to come to grips with the flaws in the foundations of Islam starting with the requirement to believe in angels.

The Bible never claims that Mary Magdalene was stoned (John 8: 1-11). Maybe you need to have the bible translated into Arabic so you can read it properly?

When was the last time the UN forces actually accomplished anything? Having Jerusalem ruled by the UN would be meaningless because people only listen to the UN when it benefits them and this would not benefit either side (or at least not in their minds). And soonjustice, maybe you should stop referring to the Israelis as racists until you look at the accusations your generalizing towards all Israelis.

Hope that America and Israel can keep Mosab as "reference" on Islam!!! We do not need him in Palestine.

No God loving Christian would want him either. He can only thrive among Christian Zonists, Keith Rupert Merdoch and CNN .

Enjoy the company of a loser.

I am Moroccan , 1 /8th of my blood is Berber, did you know that berbers were jewish converts? The jewish kingdom of Berbers. There were 5 converted jewish kingdoms. Everyone were converted to judaism. My ancesters were jews, your ancesters and mine were jews but they only had a religion in commun ,nothing else. Me and you are not related. Similarly a polish and a cuban christians are not related, as they are not the same people. The original jewish "beleivers" were the Palestinians ancesters. If it had to be a jewish (geneticly ) people it should be the decendants of the old jews who were the now palestinians. The ashkenazi jews are originaly khazars with genetic connections to the eastern europeans, to Georgia exactly. The reason why you are insisting in making the myth sound true and people could beleive it because if there was a jewish people is that a jews from Brooklin could have the right to a land he never been to in Palestine. If I convert to judaism ,racist israel will offer me a land, that land would be confiscated from a righftful palestinian owner.
You see how lunatic is zionism? If you beleive in this criminal racist ideology its as if you beleive in Nazis. That God made you superior to all of us.

soonjustice, We are all sons and daughters of the same god if there is one. And if you follow the National Geographic Genographic project:

DNA studies suggest that all humans today descend from a group of African ancestors who about 60,000 years ago began a remarkable journey.

"Adam" is the common male ancestor of every living man. He lived in Africa some 60,000 years ago, which means that all humans lived in Africa at least at that time.

Unlike his Biblical namesake, this Adam was not the only man alive in his era. Rather, he is unique because his descendents are the only ones to survive. So soonjustice, welcome to the family!!!!

I totaly agree with you on your reply to me about our human origins.
Zionists want to make us beleive that jews are superior to us , that just for someone being a jew has the right to a land in Palestine. This is so wrong. To be a jew is to beleive in Judaism, judaism is not a race but its a religion, do you agree?

@ soonjustice, you do realize the Israelis are the most humane and morally ethical people as a whole in the middle east, right? They afford the most human rights to people compared to any other middle eastern nation. I am a proud supporter of AIPAC, the ADL, and several other Jewish groups, because we need to continue to fight against hateful liars such as yourself. For WW2 it was really Russia who gave the fatal blow to germans, USA and the 'Allies' made a show in the 'D' day. You see , Germans, until the last minutes were still hoping that the USA would join them. Also the UK made secret deals with nazis since the start of the war.
Do you understand? The USA, the UK and the Nazis were negatiating to invade the USSR which was their commun ennemy. the USA and UK knew about the jews being killed and tortured by the Nazis but ignored it,they even refused to give visas to the jewish children to join their families.
Jews were protected in Morocco, Yemen, Turkey... Think about it, jews were massacres in the middle of europe by europeans. The US turn the blind eye and pretended not to know, the USA didnt want to upset Germany who was useful to fight communism.
Just after the war, the Nazi scientists and their families were invited to go and work for the USA in the USA. Jews never had that chance, they even were encourage to leave europe.
Jews never got justice for what happened to them in Europe. They were promise that they will be always supported if they took palestine for their home land. Now palestinians are the victims of the Nazi victims. As europeans will never give a piece of their land in europe to the jews, jews hope to keep Palestine, Palestinians will never give up their land , now jews have to seriously find a way to go back to europe and demande their right of return as they were foolish to leave in the first place.

If Mosab Hassan Yousef is sent back to his certain Palestinian executioners, the Obama administration will perform an irreversible crime. If the Obama administration has any specific reason to consider this man dangerous, it must make this reason public and prove deportation is no less than 100% justified. A large number of peace loving American Muslims and Jews will think twice before voting Obama again in the next elections. If the Obama administration has any Middle East policy, this seems to be one of appeasing enemies and punishing allies. Does this make any sense? To many people, both in America and overseas, it does not.

I think his conversion was not so much sincere as an escape from the fundamentalist Islam he grew up on.

I just want to mention one thing, who ever traits his own people and his own country is a traiter and deserves to be punished. Another thing I am a Muslim and I respect all the religions that God has sent over the years starting with Jews, Christiniality, and finally Islam. The most important thing is that we r all worshiping the same God. The Israel government everyday killis inicient Palestinieans womens and Kids, so what do u expect from da Palestinieans people not to defend them selfes. Put your self in their shoes, what will u do no matter what religion u follow and someone attached ur home and killed ur parents, brothers and sisters, plz tell me how u all would feel? Anotherthing u all need to know people like us who have faith in their religions and god are being played by poewerfull people who really only cares about power, Keep that in mind. Finally I ve been to da states and I love the people over there they r soo friendly, but the only problem u guys r being misslead, can u tell me what was da reason u guys went to war in Iraq dont tell me to free their people cause no one asked u and look at them now, they r much more worse than before. The american people should ask their Government where was the weapons of mass destructions and the soldiers that died, died for nothing just to get the oil to be honest to serve the big companies. So plz well all came from adam and eve we should all respect each other. And trust me if u read more about islams and its stories from a trusted source trust me u will see a totally diferent thing. MayGod bless all of us !!!

Jazakallaahu khayrun katheerah brother. USA is a symbol of justice and democracy in the whole Muslim world. Muslims expect americans to look beyond what the media has been telling them. We are all children of Adam and Eve and follow one or another Abrahamac relgion, we should be able to live all togther and try to make this world a more peaceful place. We have to make efforts in both directions. Help Americans see the real picture and help muslims to get rid of their anger, be patient and work towards a common goal.

mohamed, Israelis treated Palestinians far better than any Muslim country treats Muslims. The Palestinians and Muslims under Israel have a right to vote, right to education, freedom of religion, freedom of oppression, access to healthcare, etc., etc., etc. I would take being a Palestinian under Israel any day rather than being an oppressed Muslim in any other Muslim arab country. Thank G-D for Israel!

Mohamed, you lie when you say Israel kills Palestinians every day. I think you meant to say Muslims kill Muslim women and children every day and gloat about it. They do it by the thousands each year. Israel treats the Palestinians like kings compared to the rest of how the muslim middle east treats them.

As per every imam, there is only one source of truth and that is the koran. Unfortunately said book is based on the mythical revelations of a mythical angel named Gabriel to a warmongering, womanizing Arab named Mohammed making Islam one of the great con jobs of all time.
