Chicago clergy address city's spiraling gun violence

[cnn-video url= http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2010/07/05/chicago.clergy.gun.violence.cnn%5D

After the Supreme Court struck down Chicago’s handgun ban last week, calling it unconstitutional, the City Council quickly passed a new gun ordinance.

Four Chicago clergy discussed the city’s spriraling gun violence on this week's Faces of Faith on CNN.

Interesting to note that one of the clergymen is the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a controversial figure from the 2008 presidential campaign.

It looks like intolerance is alive and well among the athiest. You don't have to be religious, but wanting to keep others from being religious is where you cross a line."

What about all you religious fanatics trying to stick your god down everyones throut? THen trying to induct bible law into secular law? Sorry, thats not going to happen.

If you want to look at the impact of Australia eliminating guns go to the following web site for a fine analysis of the crime data since 1997 when the law was passed.

There have been more people murdered in the name of God and organized religion than any other single reason on earth. It is still going on today. The three major religions originated in the middle east. The descendants of these people live in that region today. Take a good look at them, they are still killing each other. Religion is an insult to intelligence. There is no historical evidence to support any character in the bible. There is not historical evidence to support any claim of a supernatural event……..EVER. Far better to believe in mankind and work together to better the world. Do not waste your resources on organized scams that claim they represent God or know what God wants.
God does not need your money or your resources.
THINK FOR YOURSELF! Crooks love gun control!

clergy = liars and incompetent hypocrites. the more religious a country is, the more violent it is, look it up. if you are serious about reducing violence, get rid of religion. when are we going to wake up to the fact that religion is the greatest evil on our planet.?

The authors of the bible, were the apostles. Christianity, started with Christ, Clergy as many call them refer to Catholics, which was developed 3000 years after Christ. Catholics made up thier rules as they went along and did not go by the bible. For instance, meat on Friday, the assumption of Mary, no where in the bible does it say Mary was assumed into heaven as the Catholics believe........... Most Christian leaders are called ministers, not clergy. Yes, there are a lot of denomonations, but Christians.......go strickly by the bible LITERALLY. Most clergy do not. If you do not understand the bible, buy a study bible. It takes the authors words and interprets them for those who cannot understand. You can tell right away which of these people have no idea of Christianity.

Gun control only increases crime. Look at Chicago, Newark, Trenton, and other places with draconian gun laws. They have the highest crime rates in the nation. Criminals love places where their victims are guaranteed to be unable to defend themselves.

    Brain knowledge
Kids need structure they find it in gangs.
Kids are smart enough to see how messes up adults are and lose hope.
Kids see the government as a gang.
Kids see firsthand the family being torn apart.
    Kids need fathers.
The courts give kids to mothers and let the fathers get away with just child support.
God puts two together and judges tear them apart.
Kids see adults use gun they fell unsafe from those that have them they become equal.
Once a kid goes bad the nation discards them as lost forever, the army won’t take them nor will any other structure.
Kids are in general disappointed in life let down kick to the side by the adult world.
The truth is that the world is not balanced and fair some are given opportunities that others will never have.
    You reap what you sow!
This is the land were everyone should have a gun.
This land was taken by force and will in the end be taken by force.
Live by the sword die by it.
Grow up this land is protected with guns.

Schools used to be tought in church then the goverment steped in and seperated the two , kids need structure they find it in gags. a man used to make anough money to support his home now the woman needs to work also to make ends meet, if my wife does not give me sex on demand then we have a communacation problem and grounds for devorce, god put two to geather and judges tear them apart.
to have a goverment without god will not stand!
doctroing is the teaching of men to live with the knowledge of both good and evil it is an atempt to teach one to over come evil in there lives. for a goverment not to have this is death in two generations.

I think the church is just as bad if not worse than a gang. At least a gang doesnt rape rape little kids...well maybe they do. Religion lies and brainwashes people, just like a gang does. Its ok to kill in the name of god, but not to just kill? I see no difference in your little poem.
