    why christains setting up such a dual standards on burning of their own bible n holy book of muslim?if muslim take such step wot will they do then??????

      Yes, myself and a lot of Muslims would condemn an act like that if a holy Bible was to be burned. The sad thing you and the people that only know the Islam and Muslims through biased media and books will not hear us condemn such an act. Believe it or not, there are a lot of Muslims in America and across the whole world that respect other people regardless of what they believe in.

      To me either *this pastor or *a Rabbi or *one of those religious police in Saudi Arabia that use hatred act to force their opinion are not the true representation of their own religion. What make us good people is not the religion or idea we follow but it is how we use that to live our life honest, kind, peaceful respectful to each other and our environment.

    @Reality

    the koran is holy to Muslims and the bible is holey to Christians ..

    u know ,what u said is not logical ....

    i think every one has the wright to live what ever why they want to and be respected as long as they respect back....

    i see America a country of respect ,do u not?!

    August 1, 2010 at 1:11 pm |
    • zahralp

      sorry i type really bad ,but u get the point right?!

    • peace2all

      @zahralp

      It is o.k... We get your point. That is one of the things that makes America great is.... 'freedom' As long as those freedoms are not used to assault,murder, hurt or do something to anyone against their will, then 'basically' we have an enormous 'prvilige' and 'responsibility' to set a standard of peace, love, harmony.... and yes...as you said..."RESPECT"

      Keep peace in your heart, learn and understand other religions(which does not mean you have to give up yours), and I think you will find more tolerance and peace America....as we continue to evolve in awareness.

      Again....Peace to you....

    Friends whatever it is i dont agree wit this news that Americans going to burn our Holy Quran ALLAH will never forgive those peoples who burns QURAN Better that man should be alert of his death before of after doing that lets see what will happn on that day

    • peace2all

      @nabdf

      The whole point is burning ANY holy texts... be it your Holy Qu'ran or the Holy Bible, is absolutely absurd...!

      And then on top of that, for you to be basically insinuating that Allah will basically do harm of some kind....Well, I would like to believe in my heart that your comment is coming from hate and being insulted by the multitudes of people on these posts that seem to be against Islam.

      Only understanding of each others religions and beliefs will allow us to coexist.......Peacefully.

      I am assuming that is what you want....? Hatred does not beget peace..... only peace,tolerance, love and understanding will give the world a chance...

      I know of many wonderful muslims....good, kind-hearted people..... that is why I am trying to bring down the inflammatory rhetoric here which most likely will fuel the fire for more hatred...

      Be at peace...@nabdf...

      Peace to you....

    • peace2all

      @nabdf

      I understand where you are coming from. There are extremists on both sides that the news media plays out as the 'face' of thier religion.

      Hatred will only fuel the fire for more hatred........ Peace, tolerance, understanding and love will give us a chance to truly coexist peacefully, and with respect.

      Peace to you @nabdf.....

      zahralp,

      Having Christians burn their bibles and having Muslims burn their korans would be great since such acts would show that the con game is finished once and for all.

      August 1, 2010 at 11:35 am |
    • NL

      "PLZ understand that politics and culture has nothing to do with Islam"

      This sounds like the "No True Scotsman" defence. Christians do it too. Some Christians would denounce abortion doctor killers and the death penalty. These are American cultural and political influences they say. Yet both Islam and Christianity are world religions and influenced by a multitude of cultures and political climates. Does the "true" or "pure" form of either religion actually exist outside of general, idealized descriptions in books?

      I mentioned in another post that there is no Christianity, only Christendom. Can't that also apply to Islam? The idealized, peaceful, completely Qu'ran-driven form may be practiced by a few believers, but it is not what is practiced throughout the world by the majority, so it cannot be used as the yardstick to judge the faith by any more than there is a "true" form of Christianity.

      Like it or not, you have to accept the actions and positions of your "Extremists" as part of the whole. If you don't like what they say about your religion then express your opinions louder. That goes for Christians as well. It's time for the "moderates" to make their voice heard, otherwise the Extremist voice is all the world ever hears, and we forget you even exist.

    Why not they learn to respect the others?

    I think it's wrong to burn any book. If you disagree with something that is written why not discuss the matter? If you lose the debate then that should be a sign to you that your conceptions may be incorrect. Burning something just gives the impression that you actually have no good criticism of it and that, in fact, you are so afraid of the attractiveness of this message that you deem it safer to simply whip it away. Is Christianity so afraid of the Qu'ran?

      Yeah, like has there ever been an instance where burning books has not been seen as oppressive, or even childish? I haven't read much of the Qu'ran, but I admit that these Christians are making me curious. Maybe it's as good as Harry Potter?

    • peace2all

      @NL

      Yes.... very good points by you.. Muslims burn american flags and bibles, and christians kill abortion doctors,..... even a couple of months ago, there were militia men out in the woods of 'michigan' getting ready with automatic weapons...spouting the bible..i.e., revelation about god, etc. and were going to assassinate people.

      My imaginary friend is stronger than your imaginary friend... all based on fairy tale. And that is possibly what is going to cause the worst war ever.

      Please...... Peace....let's work together..... if we want our world to survive in love, commpasion, and understanding.

    This man has nothing to do with Christianity! What he said is not recognized by the Bible,Quran or Twarat. He obviously does not know what Islam or Quran means and what the real teachings of Islam are. I agree with my christian brothers and sisters that he is not doing them any favour and he does not represent any of them. He has to be stopped to avoid fires that we do not need.

      Osama,

      You can either scroll up the page or simply read the following:

      Google "Muslims bible burning" to get all said references about Muslims burning the bible but note that once the "bowers" of Islam see how they have been conned by their imams and ayatollahs for the last 1400 years, they too will burn their copies of the koran i.e. the angel Gabriel never existed so there is no way that the warmongering, womanizing, and hallucinating Mohammed got any koranic passages from some god. Tis the great angelic con game. Joe Smith was the latest to pull it off with his "angelic" Moroni. The significant stupidity and gullibility of it all!!!!!

      And ditto when we the "pew peasants" of Christianity finally realize the con that has been pulled on us, we too will burn our bibles. I have not burned my copy but have relegated it to the mostly fictional section of my reference library.

      August 1, 2010 at 12:14 am |
    • peace2all

      @Osama

      Bottom-line I agree in theory with a lot of your points. ALL religions need to stop saying which won is the better one....i.e..

      My god is better than your god.....We go to war over these things. Shouldn't we all be respectful and find common ground and learn to live in harmony and peace and respect by understanding world cultures..?

      If we don't, we have a lot of hatred going on, which could lead to the destruction of our planet

      Peace-harmony-love.....that is what it's all about

      Peace to you @Osama.....

    The message does not change: Jesus Christ is the SON of the living God. He died on the cross and he was raised from the dead on the third day. He is ALIVE. Without repentance, forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ- you will go to hell.
    Allah is not God and Mohammad is a FALSE prophet. As Christians- If you cannot agree that Islam is of the devil-because it points to salvation another way except through Jesus Christ- then please check your self. Jesus was not tolerant, liberal or humanistic. He is the way, the truth and the life- and no one comes to the father except through him!!!

      This is again, my religon/god= right one ... your religion/god= wrong one.... Same old tired argument. Who's book is the right one....? Why is your book any better than the koran...

    Having lived in colonial Africa, and in the midst of South Africa whose racist policies carried a deep influence among whites in neighbouring countries, I was subject to racist epithets on a daily basis by children of "deeply commited Christians" whose attitude towards non-whites was the same whether we were Christians, Hindus, Moslems etc. The racist agenda was moreover supported, should the pastor want to know, by convenient Biblical verses attributed to Jesus (may peace be on him), but never never did my family ever make a remark which was critical of the Christian faith. They knew better not to take an isolated group and generalize a whole faith!

    The pastor's decision to burn the Holy Qur'an, a book treated as Holy by 1 billion plus Muslims will, to me, illustrate a revulsion by him of another human being – nothing less. It is upto him, but I would ask him to show restraint in this matter, just as many of us, even as children, were told not to hate another faith because of the actions of a few million. You cannot isolate Muslims and their holy book – they go hand in hand, Sir.

    I hope the pastor and his supporters will heed this.

    Thank you

    Is this loving thy neighbor? Is this doing what Jesus commanded by loving thy enemy?

    How would he like it if Muslims burned the KJV of the Bible (or any version for that matter)?

    What is he going to burn next? Burn the Catechism because I'm guessing if he's fundamental he's anti-Catholic too.

    Is he going to burn the Torah and the Mishna (and whatever else you guys have), because they're Jewish and not Christian?

    The buck must stop here and now. No burning anything. Environmentally wise, he could at least put the Koran in the recycling heap instead of burning it outright.

    Besides, even if he destroyed ALL of the Korans in the whole entire world, he would have to destroy the templates and the masters so that no more could be printed.

    It's gotta end somewhere.

      To Muhammad. You mention your belief in the Bible as the word of God and then you state "Jesus was a Prophet". This is a common mistake with islamic people in concerning the Bible. To believe in the Bible (Christian) you must believe that Jesus is the son of God, the word made flesh or you do not believe in it at all. The Quran and Bible are two very different belief systems. Muhammad by stating that you believe in the Bible is a statement you believe in Jesus as God and the Lord of Lord and King of Kings not a Prophet as in the belief system of Islam. It is the absolute, Major and Number 1 element and important aspect of the Bible and Christianity. This aspect to Muslims of the jesus as the son being part of the Father I notice is a area that is very difficult for Muslims to understand and is meet with insults and criticism due to a lack of understanding on their part of the fundamentals of Christianity. Thus, Muhammad this is a area in your believe between the Bible and Quran you need to re-avaluate. There is a distinctive difference between the Bible and Quran concerning Jesus that you need to be made aware of.

    News Flash- 2006- Australia : Muslim Students Urinate, Spit On Then Burn Bible

    Uh oh, does this mean the worlds 2 billion Christians are gonna start rioting in the streets and calling for the blood of Muslims to be spilled? Hmmm probably not, but I'm sure the MSM will report this at and make it front page headlines for a month just like the Koran desecrations :

    TWO Muslim students have been expelled from an Islamic school in Melbourne for urinating and spitting on a Bible and setting it on fire.

    The explosive incident has forced the East Preston Islamic College to call in a senior imam to tell its 650 Muslim students that the Bible and Christianity must be respected.

    Anxious teachers at the school have also petitioned principal Shaheem Doutie, expressing "grave concern" about an "inculcation of hatred and radical attitudes towards non-Muslims" at the school, including towards non-Muslim teachers.

    Google "Muslims bible burning" to get all said references about Muslims burning the biblen but note that once the "bowers" of Islam see how they have been conned by their imams and ayatollahs for the last 1400 years, they too will burn their copies of the koran i.e. The angel Gabriel never existed so there is no way that the warmongering, womanizing, and hallucinating Mohammed got any koranic passages from some god. That incident of 2006 in Australia was sad. An un-Islamic act of students which must be condemned by all Muslims.
      Even if someone claiming to be a Muslim goes about declaring a day to be celebrated as Burn a Bible Day, as this Pastor has decided to do with Quran on 9/11, he / she must be condemned by every Muslim as well as Christian.
      This step of Pastor should jolt us Muslims and Christians into coming together and respecting each others' faiths and scriptures.

    As a man of faith, I'm appalled at his intended acts. As an American, he has that right, however. My freedom of religious expression comes from the same enshrined source as his. That said, book burnings are ludicrous. If you don't approve of or appreciate the message, don't read it. If you disagree, argue your side. If you can't, walk away. I would be just as opposed if it were Muslims threatening to burn the Bible or whatnot.
