Church plans Quran-burning event

In protest of what it calls a religion "of the devil," a nondenominational church in Gainesville, Florida, plans to host an "International Burn a Quran Day" on the ninth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.

The Dove World Outreach Center says it is hosting the event to remember 9/11 victims and take a stand against Islam. With promotions on its website and Facebook page, it invites Christians to burn the Muslim holy book at the church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"We believe that Islam is of the devil, that it's causing billions of people to go to hell, it is a deceptive religion, it is a violent religion and that is proven many, many times," Pastor Terry Jones told CNN's Rick Sanchez earlier this week.

anyone who thinks islam is the religion of the devil is a very dangerous terrorist. you idiots are spreading the most vicious, contemptable hate on earth! your profound stupidity is indeed very cruel, arrogant, ignorant and false..it defies all language. you live in the ugliest hell of all...your own puny, wicked minds, caged you by your choice to not learn a damn thing. you are killing humanity and our planet faster than the most malignant cancer known to science. proof is analysts recently reported the average american has an 8th grade level education....and the stupids have become the world's worst terrorists.

for the rest of us who are educated, intelligent, enlightened and aware...we know better, much much better... we knew how to educate ourselves about who the real terrorists are. there is no doubt, you stupids have made it all too clearly obvious how evil you are.

      @froggs

I respect where you are coming from. And, unless we have the desire to find common ground between religions, so we can all coexist, the ongoing rhetoric between both sides will possibly lead us to war over.... my god is better than your god.

And the bottom-line is that it is all about beliefs, with no proof...i.e....'who has the best imaginary friend'

I sincerely hope that we can find some common ground, and realize that we are all humans, and peace and love is 'supposedly' what Islam and Christianity say their religions are about.

I hope that we can make it happen...

      Again, @froggs.... nice post...

      Peace to you.....

The alegation against Islam is simple; it is an intolerant religion that invokes extreme viloence against its detractors. If i am ignorant and choose to burn the quran, paint a picture of muhammad or shout profanities about allah . I think more than a majority of muslims would actively seek to destroy me (or passively by saying i deserved it). This makes it a dangerous, intolerant and offensive cult and not the religion it pretends to be

      @timbuk2

You are making an assumption that the religion of Islam, because of some of their 'extremeist' actions by a hateful few, that .. that is a given assumption about 'ALL' Muslims.

I know several muslim families, and they are some of the nicest people I know. Yes, some of the people of Islam have 'interpreted' the Qu'ran with a filter of hate, and we see those actions on the news.

However, the very same litmus test absolute must be applied to christianity. Christianity for several thousand years has committed more atrocities against, non-believers, people that were burned at the stake for being a heretic, because they didn't believe what the church was saying they had to believe. 'Extremists' shoot at abortion doctors, and even just recently,i believe in michigan, there were dozens of militia with automatic weapons, and other U.S. weapons ....what were they going to do, if our intelligence had not caught them... they were going to k*ll as many of our government officials as they could....'i the name of the Christian 'Bible".... They even were quoting NT from the bible, and their rallying cry was a lot of biblical verse from the book of Revelation. They wanted to bring on the ...end of the world as told in said bible just because.. they were tired of our so-called 'Christian Nation' doing nothing about it. So,lets just go out and start blowing away INNOCENT people.

So, BOTH religions......Islam...and yes...Chritianity have their same extremist that look at their holy books and see hate.

The bottom-line is that your inflammatory and one-sided rhetoric, and others like you.......just might bring on the destruction of the world with your position.... My religion/god is THE right one, and your religion/god is the wrong one. Same tired worn out argument that has led to wars over the years......by who's book is bette and who has the best imaginary friend.

Peace-love-harmony... and at least an understanding and some respect of other religions beliefs(even if you necessarily see it their way), will go a long way to giving us a chance of peace and friendship in the world..

      Peace to you...@timbuk2

      @timbuk2

lets do some math to see if really what you say is correct. there are 1.2 billion Muslims in the whole world, and usually women are slightly more than men, so lets say men are %45 of the total, so we have 540 million Muslim men. lets say that children are %10 and elderly men are also %10, which leaves %80 of the total to be men that are able to fight or make a suicide bomb, these men are counted as 432 million. do you REALLY think that all the islamic terrorist groups will ever rech a count of 1 million? so lets say they are 5 million, which represents only %1.2 of whole able to fight Muslims.

From what you are saying, you are accusing the remaining %98.8 of Muslims as violent-seeking human beings. And if Islam was really "intolerant religion that invokes extreme viloence against its detractors", then why these %98.8 are not attacking you or something?

Some of the extreme behaviors by the the West against Islam usually counterproductive to the very attempt to distort Islam leads many people to recognize this religion and embrace it, Islam took Western leaders, priests, journalists full attentions! and their continuous efforts to alienate western and non Muslims countries from Islam. Study statistics indicate that the number of entrants to Islam increases greatly after such campaigns of extremists it's one of the ways to preach Islam. The more the west extremists try to confine Islam the more people embrace Islam Allah have promised to stand by Islam and Muslims.

This is absurd and hypocritical. Christianity has caused just as much killing and hatred (if not more). "No, to me it looks like a religion of the devil." I believe it should be restated "No, to me it looks like religion IS the devil."

This Pastor is insane! I am sure he never thought of the reaction his acts will bring through out the world. especially for Christians in Muslim Countries. I just Read this news in Pakistani News paper and all the Clerics and fundamentalists are already started to plan for this Event. Unfortunately the only people suffering in this scenario will be poor Christians in third world Countries. Pastor, please google Hell Testimony as you will be joining there for sure.

      @Asher Iqbal

I agree with some of your post. The botton-line is that the rhetoric between extremists on both religions...i.e...christians and muslims are going to keep making things worse unless we find a common ground where all humans can coexist with respect and peace. If it doesn't happen soon we are looking at a possible war over who has the best superior god... my god is better than your god..

Let us hope that we can stop this before it is too late..

      Peace to you.....

This is a very good point. This insane clown who calls himself Christian is going to end up hurting a lot of his brothers and sisters by his actions here....and for what? To prove a point? What point would that be? Book burning and holy book burning is reprehensible...this pastor (and I use the term loosely) is totally backwards, and going even further back. I hope that someone finds a way to stop him legally. I still believe this could be categorized as a hate crime.

Can't the muslims and christians just have a water balloon fight or something, and be friends after. Find some kind of common ground to coexist.

I read the Koran. The Koran and Islam REQUIRE terrorism!
    The Koran says”
    1. Muslims CANNOT doubt the Koran (2:1)
    2. Non-Muslim sex slaves are OK (Koran 4:23-24)
    3. Non-Muslims are sworn enemies of Muslims and Islam (Koran 4:101)
    4. Muslims are forbidden from having non-Muslims as friends (Koran 5:51)
    5. Muslims have the holy duty to kill non-Muslims (Koran 9:5)

    6. Only GUARANTEED way to enter “heaven” is to kill non-Muslims (Koran 9:111)
    7. Muslims MUST terrorize non-Muslims (Koran 8:12)
    8. Muslims can lie to non-Muslims to help Islam (Koran 3:28, 16:106)
    9. Non-Muslims pick one: 1. Die, 2. Convert, 3. Pay Extortion Money to Live (Koran 9:29).
    10. Non-Muslims are vile creatures deserving no mercy (Koran 98:6)

    11. Wife beating is OK (Koran 4:34)
    12. Marriage and divorce of children is OK (Koran 65:4)
    13. Rape is OK, need 4 male Muslim witnesses for proof (Koran 24:13)
    14. Robbery and theft of non-Muslims (Koran: Entire Chapter 8 called Booty)
    15. When Koran conflicts, later verses cancel out earlier verses (Koran 2:106)

    16. Mohammed at 51-years old married his child bride Aisha (6-years old).
    17. Mohammed didn’t deflower her until he was 54 and she was 9.
    18. In one day, Mohammed help behead (Koran 47:4, 8:12) between 600-900 Qurayza Jews in Medina in 627 A.D.
    19. Only Mohammed had permission from Allah to marry as many wives as he wanted to (Koran 33:50).
    20. To prove rape in Islamic law or Sharia law, Muslim females need four male Muslim
witnesses in good standing (Koran 24:13).

    21. The Koran has 114 Chapters called Surahs and is not presented in chronological order,
but chapter length order, from longest (Chapter 1) to shortest (Chapter 114).
    22. Many verses in the Koran conflict, so the concept of abrogation (Koran 2:106) applies. This means, later occurring verses make cancel out the earlier verses.
    23. The last chapter written in the Koran, Chapter 9, is extremely violent., nullifying ALL earlier peaceful passages.
    24. Robbery and Theft of non-Muslim property is OK (The entire Chapter 8 of the Koran
is known as Booty or Spoils).
    25. Muslims that leave Islam (apostacy) MUST be killed. (Bukhari 4:52:260) Quoting
Mohammed: “…if a Muslim discards his religion, kill him.”

Hehee, It looks like a joke, nothing from what did you write is related to Islam, second, isnt the Christians who killd 5 millions jews in europe, i think Jews has the right to burn the bible, because we are as muslim not allowed to do it, So All Jews please start burn the bible because of what the christians did for you in 2000 years. I dont agree with this, but sure this what all you think about. Quran is our holy book and God only will protect it as he did in the last 2000 years. Thanks for supporters.

      @Mohamad

Understanding and respect for each other's religions will bring about peace.

Book burnings, and any other action of hate whether Muslim or Christian will only fuel the fire and bring on more hate.

Hatred does not bring peace...... Love of peace and harmony brings on the best chance of peace and civility...

I agree with you, It is just not beliveable, how people talk about Islam, even they dont anything about it, they want to show that Bin Laden is Islam, it is the same like showing Hitler or Bush are the christianity. Peace to all. Sorry if i did hurt anyone.

      August 1, 2010 at 11:22 am |
    • peace2all

      @Mohamad

No, my friend..... You did not hurt me. I do understand the frustration that people of Islam get swipe with the 'extreme radicals'
like Bin Laden. Just as much as the people of Christianity get swipe by the 'extreme radicals' like Fallwell, etc...

There will always polarized radicals who will look at the same book, i.e...Qu'ran and interpret hatred and war, just like there are people that like at the christian bible and 'interpret' a war-mongering vengeful god,etc....

Keep the faith@Mohamad........keep focusing on peace..... that will bring more peace....

      Peace to you.....

Abodah Zarah 70a. The question was asked of the rabbi whether wine stolen in Pumbeditha might be used or if it was defiled, due to the fact that the thieves might have been gentiles (a gentile touching wine would make the wine unclean). The rabbi says not to worry, that the wine is permissible for Jewish use because the majority of the thieves in Pumbeditha, the place where the wine was stolen, are Jews. (Also cf. Gemara Rosh Hashanah 25b).
      Genocide Advocated by the Talmud
Minor Tractates. Soferim 15, Rule 10. This is the saying of Rabbi Simon ben Yohai: Tob shebe goyyim harog ("Even the best of the gentiles should all be killed").
This passage is from the original Hebrew of the Babylonian Talmud as quoted by the 1907 Jewish Encyclopedia, published by Funk and Wagnalls and compiled by Isidore Singer, under the entry, "Gentile," (p. 617).
This original Talmud passage has been concealed in translation. The Jewish Encyclopedia states that, "...in the various versions the reading has been altered, 'The best among the Egyptians' being generally substituted." In the Soncino version: "the best of the heathens" (Minor Tractates, Soferim 41a-b].
Israelis annually take part in a national pilgrimage to the grave of Simon ben Yohai, to honor this rabbi who advocated the extermination of non-Jews. (Jewish Press, June 9, 1989, p. 56B).
On Purim, Feb. 25, 1994, Israeli army officer Baruch Goldstein, an orthodox Jew from Brooklyn, massacred 40 Palestinian civilians, including children, while they knelt in prayer in a mosque. Goldstein was a disciple of the late Brooklyn Rabbi Meir Kahane, who told CBS News that his teaching that Arabs are "dogs" is derived "from the Talmud." (CBS 60 Minutes, "Kahane").
University of Jerusalem Prof. Ehud Sprinzak described Kahane and Goldstein's philosophy: "They believe it's God's will that they commit violence against goyim, a Hebrew term for non-Jews." (NY Daily News, Feb. 26, 1994, p. 5).
Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg declared, "We have to recognize that Jewish blood and the blood of a goy are not the same thing." (NY Times, June 6, 1989, p.5).

      One more time:

Google "Muslims bible burning" to get all said references about Muslims burning the bible but note that once the "bowers" of Islam see how they have been conned by their imams and ayatollahs for the last 1400 years, they too will burn their copies of the koran i.e. the angel Gabriel never existed so there is no way that the warmongering, womanizing, and hallucinating Mohammed got any koranic passages from some god. Tis the great angelic con game. Joe Smith was the latest to pull it off with his "angelic" Moroni. The significant stupidity and gullibility of it all!!!!!

And ditto when we the "pew peasants" of Christianity finally realize the con that has been pulled on us, we too will burn our bibles. I have not burned my copy yet but have temporarily relegated it to the mostly fictional section of my reference library.

One added note: The crusades had many purposes and outcomes but the main reason was to stop the spread of Islam. Islam cannot use the crusades now as an excuse for 9/11 as another 9/11 will cause a bigger and more horrific crusade.

I dont know if you've personally read those verses in the Quran that you mentioned. a Copy/Paste job can be done by anyone, do read the verses and try to interpret it yourself. if you have the courtesy or if those verses do say what you've tried to say then quote the complete verses and let everyone decide if they say what you interpreted of those verses.

If you say the Quran asks to kill then go ahead and read the following, and tell me what do you think about these?? :

Kill any friends or family that worship a god that is different than your own. [Deuteronomy 13:6-10]

Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find people that worship differently than you. [Deuteronomy 13:12-16]

Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. [Deuteronomy 17:2-7]

“Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest”. [Deuteronomy 17:12-13]

“Kill any false prophets”. [Deuteronomy 18:20]

“Shun those who disagree with your religious views”. [Romans 16:17]

“If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying: Let us go and worship other gods (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other, or gods of other religions), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. And you shall stone him with stones, that he die.” [Deuteronomy 13:6-9]

“And he should go and worship other gods and bow down to them or to the sun or the moon or all the army of the heavens, ......and you must stone such one with stones and such one must die.” [Deuteronomy 17:3-5]

“All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.” [2nd Chronicles 15:13]
“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother must be put to death.” [Exodus 21:15]

“Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.” [Exodus 21:16]

“Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.” [Exodus 21:17]

“Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal must be put to death.” [Exodus 22:19]

“Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people.” [Exodus 31:14]

“For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.” [Exodus 31:15]

“If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.” [Leviticus 20:12]

“If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” [Leviticus 20:13]

“Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed” [Exodus 22:20]

My point is not to defame any book or scripture. All i wanted to let you know is that do not spread the wrong information about the Quran if you've personally not read that information. nowhere in does the quran states what you have tried to prove.

2- 4:23 “Forbidden to you (for marriage) are: your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father's sisters, your mother's sisters, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your foster mother who gave you suck, your foster milk suckling sisters, your wives' mothers, your step daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom you have gone in – but there is no sin on you if you have not gone in them (to marry their daughters), – the wives of your sons who (spring) from your own loins, and two sisters in wedlock at the same time, except for what has already passed; verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” /// 4:24 “Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. Thus has Allâh ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage) with Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal sexual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed; but if after a Mahr is prescribed, you agree mutually (to give more), there is no sin on you. Surely, Allâh is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.”
3- 4:101 “And when you (Muslims) travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten As-Salât (the prayer) if you fear that the disbelievers may put you in trial (attack you etc.), verily, the disbelievers are ever unto you open enemies.”
4- 5:51 “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliyâ' (friends, protectors, helpers), they are but Auliyâ' of one another. And if any amongst you takes them (as Auliyâ'), then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allâh guides not those people who are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust).” /// and here it also mean allies which is more correct than friends, I am an arab and I know my language
5- Here to understand the whole concept, I need to put the verse before and after, 9:4 “Except those of the Mushrikûn (non-Muslims but not Christian or Jew) with whom you have a treaty, and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor have supported anyone against you. So fulfill their treaty to them for the end of their term. Surely Allâh loves Al-Mattaqûn (the pious – See V.2:2).” 9:5 “Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islâmic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (See V.2:105) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât, then leave their way free. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” 9:6 “And if anyone of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) seeks your protection then grant him protection so that he may hear the Word of Allâh (the Qur'ân), and then escort him to where he can be secure, that is because they are men who know not.”
6- From where you get that it is the only way to enter the heaven, so funny. 9:111 “Verily, Allâh has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties for (the price) that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allâh's Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur'ân. And who is truer to his covenant than Allâh? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success.”
7- This verse is talking about a battle that happened, unless you love your enemy not terrify them in battle, read before and after verses and not the one verse, quran is a group of verses read together. 8:12 “(Remember) when your Lord revealed to the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."”
8- Can you please tell me where the lying is in here? 3:28 “Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliyâ (supporters, helpers) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allâh in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allâh warns you against Himself (His Punishment), and to Allâh is the final return” 16:106 “Whoever disbelieved in Allâh after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith; but such as open their breasts to disbelief, on them is wrath from Allâh, and theirs will be a great torment.”
9- The verses are talking about the people that are fighting islam (either military or any other way), but I will put only the verse you mentioned. 9:29 “Fight against those who believe not in Allâh, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad (peace be upon him)) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
10- 98:6 “Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islâm, the Qur'ân and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikûn will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.”
11- You saw the beat and not lightly right? 4:34 “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allâh and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allâh orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allâh is Ever Most High, Most Great.”
12- Do you really know what this verse is talking about? 65:4 “And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the 'Iddah (prescribed period), if you have doubts (about their periods), is three months; and for those who have no courses ((i.e. they are still immature) their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise, except in case of death). And for those who are pregnant (whether they are divorced or their husbands are dead), their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is until they lay down their burdens; and whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him.”
13- Where is the rape is ok in here? 24:13 “Why did they not produce four witnesses? Since they (the slanderers) have not produced witnesses! Then with Allâh they are the liars.” //// here they accused a woman of having an affair, it is protecting women not allowing rape.
14- Booty means what you take from your enemy after war, not theft. Unless you don’t want to take it, it’s your choice to take it or not.
15- It cancels previous laws not contradiction, for example, liquor was allowed at the beginning of Islam unless you want to pray. After that it was totally forbidden. This is because the people at that time was so attached to liquor (like these days) and it is very hard to forbid it at once. 2:106 “Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allâh is able to do all things?”
16- First of all she was 9, and second she was engaged before, so it means she was old enough to marry and it wasn’t a bad thing to do then. Because if it was bad, then why didn’t Islam’s enemies at that time talk about it. And by the way, did you know that allowed age to get married in 1800’s in UK was 7 and in America it was 12 years old (a law)? Being a bad thing today doesn’t mean it was bad back then.
      17- Same as previous point.
18- Did you know that those jews breached their agreement with muslims and killed one of them and tried to kill the prophet himself? And did you know that on that agreement it clearly said that who ever breach the agreement from both sides shall be killed? No body told them to agree on that. By the way, the verses you mentioned are not related to the subject, they are talking about war, and I guess you kill your enemy at war, right?
19- Did you bother yourself to read the story behind each marriage? Do you know anything about his wives? 33:50 “O Prophet (Muhammad (peace be upon him))! Verily, We have made lawful to you your wives, to whom you have paid their Mahr (bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), and those (slaves) whom your right hand possesses – whom Allâh has given to you, and the daughters of your 'Amm (paternal uncles) and the daughters of your 'Ammât (paternal aunts) and the daughters of your Khâl (maternal uncles) and the daughters of your Khâlât (maternal aunts) who migrated (from Makkah) with you, and a believing woman if she offers herself to the Prophet, and the Prophet wishes to marry her – a privilege for you only, not for the (rest of) the believers. Indeed We know what We have enjoined upon them about their wives and those (slaves) whom their right hands possess,in order that there should be no difficulty on you. And Allâh is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
20- Go back and read point 13 to answer this point.
21- Chapter 1 is not the longest but chapter 2 is. And also chapter 114 is not the shortest. Verify your info before attacking other people. And I don’t know how this is a proof of anything.
22- Go back to point 15. And may I ask for an example of such a conflict?
23- When a chapter is talking about war it should be violent. And it doesn’t nullify other chapters (unless you know about my religion more than me). Any by the way, do you have a proof that it is the last chapter? Or you want anything to say?
24- Go back to point 14, you repeat yourself so many times, I am really bored.
25- Islam does not allow out to those who entered the religion of God willingly, but does not accept one of a disservice to Islam, which falls on Islam and speak out so he will be an enemy of Islam and Muslims and declare a war against Islam and Muslims is no wonder that the forces of Islam to kill apostate, every system in the world even if it does not belong to any religion, has laws that are provided for public order, he will be accused of high treason and his penalty will be death. This is what comes back on Islam in public, but declares that a war against Islam and raise the banner of misguidance and calls to non-escaped, the people of Islam, a Muslim warrior this is taken as taken by the combatants to the religion of God. Mind my google transle in this point, so to sum, we kill only who declare and fight us, he is a traitor, and he should be killed.

Maria, what does the Holy Quran say about human relations, family, death and life as purposeful or enriching? Is there any vision of heaven and the possibility of attaining virtue in this life or the hereafter that other Ambrahamic faiths, i.e. Judaism and Christianity ellude to?

I really don't understand your question. Can you please rephrase it in a simpler way?

Most of what you qouted from Quran, is like you have just read it, but not understood...most of your information is wrong and untrue. So if you do not understand its meaning, or read it but get the wrong message, theres nothing to comment..

Mrs. Maria i am a Muslim and i am 17 years old and I've lived in America for 10 years and Palestine for 7 years, and in those 7 years I've been taking religion classes at my school, I'm not going to stand silent reading what false facts you have to say about my religion. Listen to brother Hisham who has replied you with more accurate information of what is being explained in the verses. you seem like an intelligent woman, but you are not studying the Quran because you want to see if we were humble, you are studying it to prove that we are terrorist which is again false, if you claim that alqaida and taliban are terrorist organizations, then so be it i believe so too, but to think that Islam is a terrorist foundation overall then you are terribly mistaken, these people have to see that we are nothing but humans we do not think of ourselves as higher status than everyone else, we are all the creations of God and all we ask for to be treated as an equal and not have a level of injustice as having our sacred and holy book to be burned for the mistakes and evil doings of others (al qaida), one last thing Islam is not a violence religion when we are in battle the Quran states that we shouldn't harm the innocent, the weak, women, children the elderly, and not even the trees or animals or even buildings, so you can see the tragedy that happened in 9/11 was completely a contradiction to the rulings of Islam, may peace and blessings be upon you.

I don't know what you have been reading, but the Quran does not throughout any of the chapters say that its ok to be violet towards non-Muslims, its doesn't condone rape, theft etc... Islam is a religion of peace, BUT a number of people i.e. the terrorist are interpreting the Quran towards their own PERSONAL fanatic ways. We don't condone 9/11, or any other terrorist attacks. Our very own Muslim people are being killed everyday in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, by these terrorist, so what your saying is that Muslims are happy for terrorism to happen and we are even more happy that muslim terrorist – terrorise Muslims… it’s a bit mad don’t you think.
And as for that retarded so called pastor – he needs to get a grip on life, he doesn't condone violence or terrorism.. UMMM but dnt u think burning the Quran is a form of violence and terrorism.. He's calling on ppl through facebook to join the group and to attend the book burning day.. All actions have consequences, he burns the Quran today, then these terrorist are hardly gne sit around and do nothing.. So bascially he's going to end up causing more problems!!!! That pastor needs to look at his own actions before he starts judging others and a religion that he knows nothing about..

FACT: ISLAM IS THE FASTEST GROWING RELIGION IN THE WORLD!!!

This is retarded. A lot more people died in the crusades than in 9/11, but they're going to point fingers that Islam is a religion of the devil? If we're going to do anything it should be a bible burning, and that wouldn't be good either. They need to stop book burning. It makes people think they're Nazi Retards.

how can islam be the solution to anything? Islam is supposedly a 'perfected' religion from Allah, obviosly Allah takes too many attempts to write a perfect book in Arabic, and guess what it turns people into committing suicide, blow up others, destroy, and hate. Seems Allah messed up one more time. No perfect book would create such madness among its followers. Misinterpretation??? i dont think so.

islam means peace. No it does not drive ppl into doing those dasterly things. i used to think that too. But oyu know as it turns out waar drives them to it. Go to palestine gaza for 2weeks be given limtited supply of elcetricity 3hrs a day water sparse showering like 2 a week and deprived of your dignity along with your human rights tell me what do they have left to do i dont support suicide bombing but at least i know why they do it.

That's shortsighted, and too convenient a viewpoint. Ever see the video of a woman who FREAKED OUT at McDonald's because she couldn't get Chicken McNuggets? Most people don't have that reaction, and just order something else. Based on your logic however, because of that woman's excessive reaction, all the normal people in the world who'd just get a burger instead are equally illogical. And what's even more interesting, is that you attribute this behavior TO THE CHICKEN MCNUGGETS!!

I don't know....the Bible is supposed to be pretty perfect and it has led people to kill others that didn't believe in God, or Jesus, and also, it has spawned bigotry, racism and homophobia. Groups have used parts of the Bible to create whole new religions or factions of religion that base all their beliefs in hate, such as this moronic non-denominational preacher. If taken like it supposed to be, religion should teach peace, harmony, tolerance, etc., however, PEOPLE screw that up, NOT a book. Burning someone else's Holy Book should be a hate crime, and that church should be held accountable and charged, as anyone who burns the Quran should also. It's hate against a group of people. If Muslims were burning the Bible in a collective group as an assembly, there sure would be a collective gasp from all the Christians. This is no different and it is an outrage. (BTW, I do not follow organized religion, so don't blame my opinion on that! And no, I am not Muslim either).

Well it is clear this individual has missed the point.......... God/ Allah has given us religion to come to know of his exsistance as the CREATOR ......MUSLIMS are followers of ISLAM which in turn means submission to the will of God/ ALLAH. They might look like stories to you but in truth are a sign for those whom understand.......you see in these STORIES AS YOU CALL THEM are event that have happened and will happen these give us the solutions and in sights of problems people faced in the past and to there solutions for the future..... we cant blame GOD/ ALLAH for the way we as humans have become , we can only blame our selves for not FOLLOWING THE TRUTH AND SIGNS GOD / ALLAH HAS SENT TO US THROUGH HIS PROPHETS. I supose you believe we all came from monkeys and the creation of the world came by chance......lol...... NOW THESE ARE STORIES

      Bites,

You apparently missed the following summary:

Recognizing the flaws and errors in the history and theology of Islam, Judaism and Christianity by the "bowers", "kneelers" and "pew peasants" will quickly converge these religions into some simple rules of life. No clerics, imams, rabbis and priests needed or desired. It will be called the great "Pink Slipping" of religion and its leaders.

As per John Hick, the philospher, The faith of the vast majority of believers (and non-believers) depends upon where they were born and when. It is very disturbing that religious violence and hatred continues unabated due to radomness of birth.

Maybe just maybe if this fact would be published on the first page of every newspaper every day, that we would finally realize the significant stupidity of it all!!!!!!

So based on your comment I should be saying the same for the Torah. B/c the israeli's believe that the thousands of ppl that they killed and tortured is justified based on what they believe is in the Torah....oh and by the way, since I believe that you are uneducated, the Quran says a great deal about Jesus(AS). So by the burning of this Quran you are disrespecting your very own religion at that...oh and by the way I go to a Catholic school, I am Muslim, and I am held in high regards with all the priests, students, and teachers

Quran has mentioned numerous times to leave non-believers like you alone. You will not understand. The people you mentioned above were innocent people who were killed in the name of Islam. Islam has been highjacked by few extremists. Twho give Islam and Quran the bad name. You cannot look at the action of few and defame Quran and Islam which gives the message of peace. Read Quran and then decide for yourself, just don't take the verses out of context.

You know the figures bit well but let me remind u, people killed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan; most probably secret agencies have been involved or any other external force but at least not by their own local people and if you have sense of humour then u know who can be they???? No doubt about it that 9/11 is one of saddest event but have you ever think how it can be possible that anyone hijack a plane and bang into the building without the help of insider???? And what about the most established and enhanced security measures in place???? My friend International politics is a kind of black-hole, whatever you can see from outside is what anyone want you to see but may not be a true picture.

People who are talking about burning Holy books (All Religious Scripture), creating discrimination and inequality among human-being, I think they extremely and urgently require better schooling, so they able to live like normal human-being in this world.

Please guys at least we (new generation) must condemn this kind of things which could dark our future. Inform the world that we are not going make the mistake which had happened in the past. People who are talking this kind of rubbish and creating hatred, they have already live their life more than half way, so please don’t destroy your future by just following blindly to people who want us to destroy our future.

You're ignoring the truth! What about the thousands of innocent men, women and children killed by Americans in Iraq, Afghanistan and the drone attacks in Pakistan? All the figures that you have mentioned added together do not even make up one quarter of the innocent Muslims killed by racists over the past decade! What about the criminals in US prisons who are incarcerated since they've murdered or raped innocent people – are those criminals Muslims? I believe not, they are your own people. I think you're a completely misinformed individual – if you don't know the statistics of Iraqi civilians killed per month since 2003, then consult CNN or BBC. Unless you already know, but you don't care! It was people like you who carried out the Abu Ghraib torture... I'm sure you don't think that was wrong too.. do you??

  20. Ignore the Fool

This guy, the "pastor", looks like Satan to me. I pity his congregation because he doesn't talk like a leader, nor walk like one.
If CNN looks into his background, I won't be surprised if it is found that he used to be on meth, crack or anything of that sort. He might still be hooked on something,.. Basically, he's just another fool trying to have his 15 minutes of fame...

The Inquisition proved how Catholicism will react when it has possession of absolute power. Is it any wonder that in the 1880s, Dr. H. Grattan Guinness preached the following:

I see the great Apostasy, I see the desolation of Christendom, I see the smoking ruins, I see the reign of monsters; I see those vice-gods, that Gregory VII, that Innocent III, that Boniface Vlll, that Alexander Vl, that Gregory XIII, that Pius IX; I see their long succession, I hear their insufferable blasphemies, I see their abominable lives; I see them worshipped by blinded generations, bestowing hollow benedictions, bartering away worthless promises of heaven; I see their liveried slaves, their shaven priests, their celibate confessors; I see the infamous confessional, the ruined women, the murdered innocents; I hear the lying absolutions, the dying groans; I hear the cries of the victims; I hear the anathemas, the curses, the thunders of the interdicts; I see the racks, the dungeons, the stakes; I see that inhuman Inquisition, those fires of Smithfield, those butcheries of St. Bartholomew, that Spanish Armada, those unspeakable dragonnades, that endless train of wars, that dreadful multitude of massacres. I see it all, and in the name of the ruin it has brought in the Church and in the world, in the name of the truth it has denied, the temple it has defiled, the God it has blasphemed, the souls it has destroyed; in the name of the millions it has deluded, the millions it has slaughtered, the millions it has damned; with holy confessors, with noble reformers, with innumerable martyrs, with the saints of ages, I denounce it as the masterpiece of Satan, as the body and soul and essence of antichrist."P

      The challenge I give to Bible believing Christians is to respect the heritage we have been given by those who suffered for Biblical truth, that we may be prepared to suffer ourselves. Ours is the generation that may yet again be afflicted for the faith once delivered to the saints. If such is to be our privilege, let us face our trials with this promise of our Lord fresh upon our hearts: "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." {Matthew 5:10}

I cannot belive this guy call himself a christian . I do not think this is a teaching of christianity. We condemn evil yet at the same time we behave like hudlums and act barbaric towards the same thing we claim as been barbaric. Huh! Hypcocricy of the first order if you ask me. Oh that's right, it doest not apply to us if we are the perpetuates. WHERE IS THE OUT CRY!.....so much for we the civilzed.

Speaking as a Christian I want to go on record as saying that burning the Quran is not what Christianity is about. The Lord Jesus was all about love. While I respectfully disagree with Muslim theology I do not feel that the way to express Christian love is to burn something that they hold sacred.

As this pator and his church are also against a gay guy running for mayor of theri city, this was recently posted by some blogs:
Interview with a Vampire" author Anne Rice has turned her back on Christianity after becoming troubled by recent controversies surrounding the church.

The writer, whose gothic novel inspired the hit Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise movie of the same name, has been a follower of the faith for years and released her memoir, "Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession," in 2008.

But on Wednesday, Rice stunned fans on her Facebook page when she posted a note, which read: "In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control.

"In the name of... Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen."

Rice admits she has harbored doubts about her religion for the past two to three years following the revelations of certain scandals involving the church, particularly allegations of child abuse, and she felt compelled to make a personal stand by declaring she was no longer a Christian.

She tells the Associated Press, "I believed for a long time that the differences, the quarrels among Christians didn't matter a lot for the individual, that you live your life and stay out of it. But then I began to realize that it wasn't an easy thing to do.

"I came to the conclusion that if I didn't make this declaration, I was going to lose my mind."
      she went on to say:
“For those who care, and I understand if you don't: Today I quit being a Christian ... It's simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I've tried. I've failed. I'm an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.”
" Believing christ , does not mean believing his followers....."

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind." This absolutely cannot happen because the consequences would be unbelievably horrific, it is simply not the way to achieve peace. It is just plain wrong on so many levels, its indescribable. Lets not stoop to this surely we know better, there are other ways of getting messages out this is not one of them. This part of the world is one of the most educated and advanced in the world lets not disregard using common sense.

I definitely agree. If Pastor Jones and his congregation is serious about burning the Quran, I'd lie to see them begin by burning all of their money and assets. After all, it has probably been touched by more Muslim militants than the Quran. I don't believe that he was called by the Lord to preach. It looks like he sold his soul to the devil! What a hypocrite.
