CNN's Rick Sanchez out after controversial comments on Jews

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez left the network Friday afternoon, a day after making some controversial comments, including this about TV host Jon Stewart:

"I'm telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah."

Sanchez was responding to a question from XM Sirius radio host Pete Dominick, who noted that Stewart is Jewish after Sanchez had called him "a bigot," saying Stewart is biased against "everybody else who's not like him."

You have to wonder why CNN is one of the worst so called news orgs. in the world, the hired Sanchez???. Hey T.T. Met you when you won the Americas Cup in Newport, RI, Helped ntoss you in the bay. How is it that CNN hireas all of these "MORONS" that have a personal agenda? Rick Sanchez has been an idiot from day one, I'm sure that even today 10/4, even the most distant assoc. to that jerk are still celebrating the fact that he's gone.and that the self centered, over opinionated moron has been fired. Since he was such a suck ass Obama supporter, tell him to call the W.H. for a job. Hope we never hear from Sanchez again! Pls. send this to him so he understands how much he really sucked.

Journalists -at CNN and everywhere- should have the right to express their opinions. Where is the freedom of speech?

And tonight CNN proudly presents... ELIOT SPITZER??? Are they serious? This is a joke!

    I am done with CNN.

Hooray for CNN! If they would continue firing all the "personality newscasters" and return to reporting REAL NEWS instead of 20-30 NEWS STORIES with 22 minutes-an-our of commercials, we would be an informed electorate making decisions for ourselves about current events without the EDITING OF THE NEWS by of the networks. Newscasters today waste our time pushing a point of view because controversy makes ratings and profits. This is a big part of the polarization of our political state of affairs we are not as a nation engaged with intelligent rhetoric based on facts. Instead we are divided by points of view that insure profits.

I agree with many people here, I watched Rick and Anderson cooper mostly on cnn. Rick was the person who played a black person getting beaten unjustly over and over again. He was never mean spirited (except for the bad guys). What he said can be interpreted as something very bad-I don't think it was his intention at all –

CNN is quickly becoming the new FOX News. Pathetic.

Rarely watch news at lunchtime until Rick came along. I will miss him and hope he appears soon on another channel. I have no reason to watch CNN now.

CNN please reconsider. We all have opinions that are base on our perceptions. Everyone perceives things differently. What I liked about Rick was that he expressed his perception of a matter with real enthusiasm, but was willing to change his opinion if the facts warranted it. You may have noticed in these comments that he is often compared to Anderson Cooper. Will he be next to go, if he says something the network find uncomfortable? We need more journalists, with passion, like Rick and Anderson, not less!

Rich Sanchez fired for speaking the truth and also for saying that if Stewart is against minorities, then he should be against himself! What a hipocritical Channel CNN has become! Most Americans watch a station, not because it is run by Jews, or Blacks or any other ethnic race, but because of its content! And if you are lucky enough to also include telling the truth, being for the underdog, or the little represented, then more power to you. CNN supported and threw Lou Dobbs in our face for a long time. They allowed him to rant and rave about other people, other parties(other then the one he supported), other religions, other races, other ideas, almost anything he thought would grab him more attention! We love to watch CNN, including Rich's List until it was time for Lou Dobbs then we gladly changed channels, couldn't hardly get to the remote fast enough! Maybe you should "Man Up" and realize Rick had a very big following. We will be looking for him to come back and go to that channel to listen to him.........yet another reason to change the channel.........how many can you stand to give us?

Mr. Sanchez believe it or not Jews are an oppressed minority. You try growing up as the only Jew in your neighborhood or school. Did you get made fun at school from classmates for not celebrating Christmas or better yet getting reprimanded by teachers for taking time off for religious holidays? Does your child have to be told he or she sucks because of their religious views? Does your next door neighbor pray for your family each night because you don't believe in the “right” G-d? How about this, upon finding out you're a Jew does the neighborhood welcoming host say to you “You seem like a nice person and you don't have horns.” (old wise tale that Jews have horns because we are the devil). Lastly how about being preached at work or on occasion being told you're a cheap Jew (oh come on just a little work place fun-no harm intended). Mr. Sanchez what size hat do you wear? I'd gladly send you a yarmulke so you can spend a day in the life of living in a community as a minority.

And some call this freedom of speech. Rick just stated the truth, i.e., that Jewish people run all the networks in the US. There is nothing harsh or controversial about this statement. If Rick would have said that CNN is run by eskimos, no problems.. if Rick would have said that CNN is run by Lithuatians, again I do not think that this would have stirred up anything ... However, once you state the FACT and the fact is that Jewish people do control the media in this country, suddenly is controversial and we have to fire him. I mean the US can critize Germany, France , Italy, Spain .about whatever say the economy, currency, global warming etc, but you mention one god damn thing about Israel everybody is pushing buttons and calling you anti semite ..I mean cmon ...

    Rick told the truth people.

For those of you who are saying it's about time they got rid of him becuz of his poor reporting. Do you think Larry King's show is the best on television? I mean is there a more boring show on television and yet he's been around 40 years. Larry King is the worst Journalist on TV and has been for years. Perhaps it's the Jewish connection. I wonder.

I was never impressed with his reporting ability. I'm glad CNN finally saw the light and sent him on his way. Folks like Rick and Glenn Beck lack the education and perspective to provide unbiased reporting.

I am wodering if Rick criticized muslims, do you think he would have been outside CNN now. As usual, the claimed freedom to express ideas & opinions always in the US ends at the limit of Jews/Isreal criticizm. First Helen Thomas, and Then Rick, and with them Octavia Nasr who lost her job due to a positive personal opinion on a leader that opposes Isreal, her opinion was not even expressed through CNN but on Twitter, the list continues also outside CNN. This fact proves that Jews really control media in the US, so to keep your job just shut your mouth and dont try to cross the Jewish limits, that is the recent situation in Free America

Sanchez gave me the impression that without him CNN would fail...Too stuck on himself...Always cutting off other's comments...Very happy to see CNN getting rid of Sanchez...I will watch more of CNN now that Sanchez is gone...Hope Larry King is the next to go...

The jews do wield a lot of power the world over, because they have a finger in everything. One cannot make a negative comment about them even if it is true. They will find ways and means to get at you. Hitler knew how dangerous they can be, which is why that one of his reasons was to destroy them.

Been watching Fox today, and I have enjoyed it. Hope Rick will come to this station, they pretty much say what they want, because it is a free country, with freedom of speech, and that is where is should go, so no one tries to shut him up. He's the kind of journalist they need over there. some one with the guts to tell the truth!!!!!!!

He was your best. You messed up letting him go. I have already gone to Fox to watch my news. I watched CNN all the time, but not anymore. Goodbye and hope to find out where he is in the future, so I can follow him. Everyone deserves a mistake once in a while. I hope he gets a fantastic job somewhere and you have to eat crow for letting him go.

The whole world went into convulsions because a private citizen in Florida was going to burn the koran on his own property. Don Imus lost his job for calling a black female 'ho" and Jesse Jackson has made a career out of ruining people's lives for using the N word although he uses it himself. He uses anti-semetic slurs yet is still called an "anti racist" leader. And then some people, many of them Muslim and black, have the nerve to say "the jews" are so powerful? ha ha ha

I'm sure all these people supporting Rick would support a white CNN anchor who said Islam sucks, Hispanics are disproportinately on welfare, and blacks committ most car jackings. right?
