Family waits to see if mother, accused of blasphemy, will be hangedEditor's Note: CNN's Reza Sayah files this report from Itan Wali, Pakistan. "Whenever I see her picture I cry," Isham Masih told CNN. "I want my mother back. That's what I'm praying for." This month a Pakistani court sentenced Isham's mother, 45-year-old Asia Bibi, to death, not because she killed, injured or stole, but simply because she said something. Prosecutors say Bibi, who is a Christian, broke Pakistan's strict blasphemy law by insulting Islam and the prophet Muhammad, a crime punishable by death or life imprisonment according to Pakistan's penal code. The alleged incident happened in June 2009 when Bibi, a field worker, was picking fruit in a village two hours west of Lahore. Prosecutors say when Bibi dipped her cup into a bucket of drinking water during a lunch break, her co-workers complained the water had been contaminated by a non-Muslim.

if you believe that your God is there, the most powerful and all knowing, so let the God punish her if she done something wrong... ..Who are you to decide and hang her to death because something she said against islam...something very wrong with Islam...your prophet is a killer?.....
Freedom of thought and freedom of speech are freedoms given by God to human beings, though any freedom can be abused - but Islam and Sharia law persecute the slightest wrongs in their opinion. Ironic how human beings want to kill each other to avenge the honor of God, much less the honor of the violent, hate-talking prophet Muhammed, a mere human being, not a god.

In any religion, if one sees the suffering of another person, such as this woman needing water, the one seeing is required to help-this is a fundamental pillar of religion. The 'crime' here was not a person taking water, it is the person who saw her take needed water and announced it knowing she would be punished and shamed.
Please save this women...these little girls broke my heart...how can someone kill her mother...please I beg to God ...please save her...please help these little girls ...if i were there i would give my life for these little girls...please i beg someone to please help. Please...
If there indeed IS a god out there (and I think it's so far removed from possibility that it's not even worth considering) then let's ask HIM! Where is He? If he's all powerful and all knowing, where the hell is he when his reputation needs defending? I guess he leaves his defense to illiterate, ignorant peasants who have a thirst for blood and who find it impossible to consider that they may simply be wrong. Maybe this god will come down at the last moment and save this woman from her fate. Then again (and much more likely) the SOB doesn't even exist-and all this suffering and bloodshed is merely the outcome from ignorant, delusional believers who don't know crap from Crisco about evolutionary theory, genetics, astronomy, and biology.
And of course making everyone wait and wait and wait is just the tip of the sadistic iceberg. Even if she ends up only isolated and rebuked, we know that the suspense while waiting for resolution is part of the "punishment." She and her family will likely end up paranoid and neurotic after this cruel abusive treatment. Cruelly messing with her mind is a deliberate part of this vulgar brutality. There is NO excuse for this unbelievable cruelty. None.
