Pakistani cleric puts price on condemned Christian's head

A Pakistani cleric is offering a nearly $6,000 bounty for the killing of a Christian woman whose death sentence for blasphemy is being challenged by Pakistan's government.

Moulana Yousaf Qureshi made his announcement at a Friday service in the northwestern city of Peshawar. He condemned any effort by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari to pardon or release Asia Bibi (pictured) and said he and his followers will call on millions to protest if Pakistan's blasphemy laws are amended.

"I will pay 500,000 rupees for the loyal follower of Muhammad who beheads Asia Bibi," Qureshi told a crowd of several hundred people. The amount is equivalent to about $5,800, or more than six times the country's average annual wage.

In November, a Pakistani court found the 45-year-old Bibi guilty of defiling the name of the Prophet Mohammed during a 2009 argument with Muslim fellow field workers. The offense is punishable by death or life imprisonment, according to Pakistan's penal code, and Bibi was sentenced to death.

But an investigation by a Pakistani government ministry found the charges stemmed from "religious and personal enmity" and recommended Bibi's release. Zardari has said he would pardon Bibi, but a court has ruled that the president can't act until the sentence is confirmed by a higher court - a process her lawyer says could take two to three years.

About 2 million Christians live in Pakistan, making up slightly over 1 percent of the officially Islamic nation's population of about 170 million, according to government statistics.

Journalist Nasir Habib and CNN's Reza Sayah contributed to this report.

      Well it was not Islam only spread by the sword unless you want to claim that crusaders were Muslims as well? And not only religions were spread by the swords or guns even idologies were spread this way.
      Are you blind from seeing how globalization is being spread or paved for now? Do you see them showering flowers upon Afghanistan,Pakistan,Iraq,Lebanon,Palestinians in Gaza? So forget the old bedtime story and open your eyes,ears and hearts what is going around in your names as Americans...!

    Is it legal, in Pakistan, to hire someone to commit murder for you?

    Here, the firm offer would be classed as attempted murder or murder for hire.

    Muneef, a sincere question as you seem to have knowledge of the Koran and I do not: Monotheism is the tenant of the three major faiths. If all three are rooted in Abraham (then his blood sons Iaasac and Ishmael), is that One God not still the same One Guardian over all as he was for Abraham? If that is the case, then is there not a root relationship between 'brother religions', and would not that One God of us all be saddened to see his children, brothers through Abraham's line, at such odds? Is it believed in Islam that different deities are being worshiped? Your opinion please.

      Hi,sorry just saw your comment but unfortunately I am either out of concentration or not really understood what your question is... But do agree that all three faiths worship the same God and are all from Abraham.
      God has sent us the Messengers and inspired them with his words of the scriptures and it is up to us now to make our choices. God is a Guardian to true believers who do as told by the messengers and scriptures. As to Islam we are to worship no one or thing other than God alone..we do in our worships pray and say grace for prophets Muhammed and Abraham as well as all believers.

      It is still great we three faiths Jews,Christians,Muslims worship the same God we are monotheists but it is other things related to how the religion is practiced that we dispute each other with, just as Muslim branches dispute each other on the practice or the Christians Catholics and Protestants despute each other? Maybe the Jews suffer the same disputes as well among theirs? Don't know if it is pure religions disputes or has Racism within? Only God knows...

    Yes, pray for Asia's family and safety!

    If you compare people with poweer who claim to be Christians, Muslims, or Atheists, you may well find that the evil is pretty well distributed.

    But if you study and compare the actual historically recorded lives of Jesus and Mohammed, you will find out which religion can truly claim to be a religion of peace.

      Both had their share of bloodshed in order for it to survive against all odds and enemies that stood against it. As it seems no one can enjoy peace when surrounded by enemies that do not want what you propse to spread.

    2 Thessalonians 1:6-8 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Pray that this cleric has a change of heart before it's too late for him. Pray for Asia's family's safety.

    Well maybe all messengers of God needed so much love from their own people,,check this;

    Nooh sura 71
    In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
    He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day (5) But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; (6) And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. (7) And lo! I have called unto them aloud, (8) And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. (9) And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. (10) He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, (11) And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. (12) What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity (13) When He created you by (divers) stages? (14) See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, (15) And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? (16) And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, (17) And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. (18) And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you (19) That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. (20) Noah said: My Lord! Lo! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in naught save ruin; (21) And they have plotted a mighty plot, (22).

      Another example of same informing us that for resolving all the current disastors what we need to do or say;

      Hud sura 11:
      In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
      And unto Aad We sent their brother Hud. He said: O my people! worship Allah; ` there is no god for you but he; ye are but fabricators. (50) O My people! I ask of you no hire therefor, my hire is cnly on Him who created me, will ye not then reflect? (51) O My people! ask forgiveness of your Lord, then repent tcward Him; He will send the heaven upon you pouring, land He will add ycu strength upon your strength, and turn not away as guilty ones. (52) They sai: O Hud! thou hast not brought us an evidence, and we are not going to abandon our gods thy saying, nor are we going to be believers in thee. (53) All that we say is that some of our gods have smitten thee with evil. He said: verily I call Allah to witness, and bear ye witness, that I am quit of that which ye associate. (54) Beside Him, so plot against me all tcgether, and then respite me not. (55) Verily rely on Allah, my Lord and your Lord; no moving creature is there but he holdeth it by its forelock; verily my Lcrd is on the straight path. (56) If then ye turn away, I have surely preached unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you. And my Lord will set up in succession a people other than you, and ye shall not harm Him at all, verily my Lord is over everything a Guardian. (57).

    "May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

      How do you account for the atrocities of Communism and Socialism? Both that are driven with no religious influence? Man is the problem, man using a belief or political system to harm others ... that is the problem. Religions are not the problem. Politics are not the problem. People who try and hijack religions or politics for their own evil selfish desires, that's the problem.

    Sura 05-Al-Maeda
    In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
    On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone slew a person―unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land― it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our Messengers with clear Signs, yet even after that many of them continued to commit excesses in the land. (32) The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter.― (33).

      From the above Sura we understand that this what was told to the children of Israel by their Holy Torah... And Verse number 33 as it seems was the base of their intentions of having Jesus the Messiah condemned to crucifixion as if he had waged war against God Allah and his Messanger...?

      About the Holy Torah scripture;

      Sura 05-Al-Maeda
      In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
      O Messenger! let not those grieve thee who race each other into Unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say: "We believe" with their lips but whose hearts have no faith; or it be among the Jews,― men who will listen to any lie,― will listen even to others who have never so much as come to thee. They change the words from their (right) times and places; they say "If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware:" If anyone's trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment. (41).

      Sura 05-Al-Maeda
      In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
      But why do they come to thee for decision when they have (their own) Torah before them?― Therein is the (plain) Command of Allah; yet even after that, they would turn away. For they are not (really) people of Faith. (43) It was We who revealed the Torah (to Moses); therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the Prophet who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah's will, by the Rabbis and the Doctors of Law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's Book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear Me, and sell not My Signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers. (44) We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) wrong-doers. (45) And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah. (46) Let the people of the Gospel Judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel. (47).

      After the Holy Torah scripture and the Holy Gospel that came before as above mentioned now here comes the mention of the Holy Scriptures that succeeded it and named as the Holy Quran;

      Sura 05-Al-Maeda
      In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
      To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety; so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have We prescribed a Law and an Open Way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute. (48).

      Saving Muslims even Muneef is quite easy!!!--

      The Five Steps To Deprogram 1400 Years of Islamic Myths:

      ( –The Steps take less than two minutes to finish- simply amazing, two minutes to bring peace and rationality to over one billion lost souls- Priceless!!!)

      Are you ready?

      Using "The 77 Branches of Islamic "faith" a collection compiled by Imam Bayhaqi as a starting point. In it, he explains the essential virtues that reflect true "faith" (iman) through related Qur’anic verses and Prophetic sayings." i.e. a nice summary of the Koran and Islamic beliefs.

      "1. Belief in Allah"

      aka as God, Yahweh, Zeus, Jehovah, Mother Nature, etc. should be added to your cleansing neurons.

      "2. To believe that everything other than Allah was non-existent. Thereafter, Allah Most High created these things and subsequently they came into existence."

      Evolution and the Big Bang or the "Gi-b G-nab" (when the universe starts to recycle) are more plausible and the "akas" for Allah should be included if you continue to be a "crea-tionist".

      "3. To believe in the existence of angels."

      A major item for neuron cleansing. Angels/de-vils are the mythical creations of ancient civilizations, e.g. Hitt-ites, to explain/define natural events, contacts with their gods, big birds, sudden winds, protectors during the dark nights, etc. No "pretty/ug-ly wingy thingies" ever visited or talked to Mohammed, Jesus, Mary or Joseph or Joe Smith. Today we would classify angels as f–airies and "tin–ker be-lls". Modern de-vils are classified as the de-mons of the de-mented.

      "4. To believe that all the heavenly books that were sent to the different prophets are true. However, apart from the Quran, all other books are not valid anymore."

      Another major item to delete. There are no books written in the spirit state of Heaven (if there is one) just as there are no angels to write/publish/distribute them. The Koran, OT, NT etc. are simply books written by humans for humans.

      Prophets were invented by ancient scribes typically to keep the un-educated masses in line. Today we call them for-tune tellers.

      Prophecies are also invali-dated by the natural/God/Allah gifts of Free Will and Future.

      "5. To believe that all the prophets are true. However, we are commanded to follow the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) alone."

      Mohammed spent thirty days "fasting" (the Ramadan legend) in a hot cave before his first contact with Allah aka God etc. via a "pretty wingy thingy". Common sense demands a neuron deletion of #5. #5 is also the major source of Islamic vi-olence i.e. turning Mohammed's "fast, hunger-driven" hallu-cinations into horrible reality for unbelievers.

      Walk these Five Steps and we guarantee a complete recovery from your Islamic ways!!!!

      Could it be that the nations are in deep mess as it is because having gave up taking the judgments and laws of the Holy Scriptures of God Allah and went on taking judgments and laws from secular sources rather than taking it from Holy Scriptures..? And that made of us wrong doers causing mischief on earth destroying life and peace?
      The Muslims have but as it seems they are now doing as Jew did going round it and changing and became no better than those who rebel ??
      What ever it is it became clear that we went and still are going wrong for having left behind laws and judgments given to us by God Allah and replaced it with laws and judgments made by men that are against what we were instructed to follow up but followed the vain desires of some diverging from the truth although we were warned not to..?

      God Allah wanted us to be more than one nation or single people as mentioned but that was for testing us so to strive as in a race in all virtues for Allah as a goal and that what ever being disputed the truth of which will be revealed to us on earth or after resurrection and on Judgment Day...! That means leave your desputes behind and chase the race for the Holy Goal
      of ending corruption,mischief,bringing back justice and peace,end poverty and starvations,ending monopoly and unlimited greeds of men...
      But are doing that or not?

      Well as it seems that the enemy of today is the same enemy of many centuries ago that disputed God Allah from the time of His Messangers Moses,Jesus and Muhammed PEace be upon them all..!
      Those are spread in every nation and religion pretending what they are not but work out towards the same one agenda of the cused ones of the Sabbath who consider them selves above all as being the chosen ones and have rejected all the laws and judgments of God Allah that came to them and nations after them and went on making their own laws and judgments for a cause of having all nations reaching the lawest levels of humanity among them selves...?

      It is called the Great Angel Con:

      Joe Smith had his Moroni.

      Jehovah Witnesses have their Jesus /Michael the archangel, the first angelic being created by God;
      Mohammed had his Gabriel (this "tin-kerbell" got around).

      Jesus and his family had Michael, Gabriel, and Satan, the latter being a modern day dem-on of the de-mented.

      The Abraham-Moses myths had their Angel of Death and other "no-namers" to do their dirty work or other assorted duties.

      Contemporary biblical and religious scholars have relegated these "pretty wingie thingies" to the myth pile. We should do the same to include deleting all references to them in our religious operating manuals. Doing this will eliminate the prophet/profit/prophecy status of these founders and put them where they belong as simple humans just like the rest of us.

      Some added references to "tink-erbells".

      "Latter-day Saints also believe that Michael the Archangel was Adam (the first man) when he was mortal, and Gabriel lived on the earth as Noah."

      Apparently hallu-cinations did not stop with Joe Smith
      "The belief in guardian angels can be traced throughout all antiquity; pagans, like Menander and Plutarch (cf. Euseb., "Praep. Evang.", xii), and Neo-Platonists, like Plotinus, held it. It was also the belief of the Babylonians and As-syrians, as their monuments testify, for a figure of a guardian angel now in the British Museum once decorated an As-syrian palace, and might well serve for a modern representation; while Nabopolassar, father of Nebuchadnezzar the Great, says: "He (Marduk) sent a tutelary deity (cherub) of grace to go at my side; in everything that I did, he made my work to succeed."

      Catholic monks and Dark Age theologians also did their share of hallu-cinating:

      "TUBUAS-A member of the group of angels who were removed from the ranks of officially recognized celestial hierarchy in 745 by a council in Rome under Pope Zachary. He was joined by Uriel, Adimus, Sabaoth, Simiel, and Raguel."
      And tin-ker- bells go way, way back:

      "In Zoroastrianism there are different angel like creatures. For example each person has a guardian angel called Fravashi. They patronize human being and other creatures and also manifest god’s energy. Also, the Amesha Spentas have often been regarded as angels, but they don't convey messages, but are rather emanations of Ahura Mazda ("Wise Lord", God); they appear in an abstract fashion in the religious thought of Zarathustra and then later (during the Achaemenid period of Zoroastrianism) became personalized, associated with an aspect of the divine creation (fire, plants, water...)."

      "The beginnings of the biblical belief in angels must be sought in very early folklore. The gods of the Hitti-tes and Canaanites had their supernatural messengers, and parallels to the Old Testament stories of angels are found in Near Eastern literature. "

      "The 'Magic Papyri' contain many spells to secure just such help and protection of angels. From magic traditions arose the concept of the guardian angel. "

    Islamic civilization was at it's peak when the West was still in the dark ages but what has turned the table upside down and made sure that Islamic civilization would never to come back to the peak but to slide back to darker ages as it is? Well who ever did this is still making sure to have the Islamic civilization destructed down to earth and what ever is happening now is the result of this destruction project where it caused Muslims to become having more than one path and beliefs.. Beside having replaced the peace loving religion in the hearts of some to become filled with blind hatred...Otherwise Islam civilizations know very well that suicide is forbidden in the Quran and was told who commit suicide would not be admitted to heavens paradise and the suiciders would be admitted to Hell only..?
