Interesting. Multiple bombs go off I sweden after a email from a Muslim terrorist group and no mention on this blog. If it had of been about westbourgh baptist church chances are we would have tons "my takes" threads.

      @Mark from Middle River

      Hey Mark...

Yes, I as well as yourself and probably most of the posters here on the CNN Belief Blog, at times find it odd, as to what gets posted as an article and what doesn't.

In this case, maybe they just haven't done it (yet)...i.e..(posted said bomb attacks in Sweden).

Or, who knows, I am just speculating here: It seems pretty much, like the 'majority' of articles that get posted here about Islam, no matter how positive, is 'typically' responded with tremendous hate, disdain, ridicule, anger... and extreme 'over-generalizations- about 'all' Muslim's.

Again, I am just chattin' with ya' and obviously am not asserting any absolutes here, but... every time a 'negative' article runs on Islam, seems to be more hatred or hate crimes somewhere in the U.S. after some terrorist event by Muslim radical extremists. I am sure that 'a lot' of peace-loving Muslim's are more and more feeling fearful for their safety, as a result of the small minority of 'crazies' that do harm in the name of Islam.

This (U.S.) being an over-whelmingly Christian believing country as a majority, sometimes gets the brunt of atheistic attacks on your beliefs and logic, etc... but, I don't think that the 'majority' of Christians are somehow in fear for their safety, as a result of secularists or atheists.

Maybe.... CNN, feels the need to offer some kind of balance, as Muslim's on this Belief Blog are rarely spoken of very highly. Seems to feed into the stereo-types that breed more bigotry and hatred.

      Just some thoughts...

Leave it to a church to abuse animals just to sensationalize their Christmas program, they're as BAD as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey...Yeah that's having dominion over the animals for ya! Come on PETA, where are you!!!

They should put the camel back in the desert and let it fend for itself. How dare anyone have a pet of any sort.

"how dare anyone have a pet of any sort"? Seriously? I am very curious how you came to have such an opinion...!

      Sum Dude,

My comments were made to show how ridiculous ‘animal rights’ positions are at times. If those same people had as much concern for human life as animal life we would stop killing babies in the womb.

So you are just trying to turn this into an anti-abortion protest? Well, have fun with that. Humans don't have rights either – that's what your anti-abortion stance is all about. But maybe no one should have any rights. Maybe we should all be slaves for the rich and powerful – oh, wait, that would include the Pope.

Who can say that animals fall down where the Christmas Spirit abounds? Deer crash through windows to get a closer look at Christmas trees; bears get into stores on main street to eat the candy and cookies that are meant for customers…squirrels gather nuts and store them in people’s attics and wait until Christmas Eve to start eating them….this is not news….

It is relevant, because even a camel fell down while laughing at the stupid myth. LOL!

It's relevant because it demonstrates the lengths to which christians will go breath life into their dying myths.

    • HotAirAce

And where's PETA when you need them? Surely dressing up a camel and forcing it to perform in a tribal play consti-tutes animal abuse. Did anyone check to see if the camel was christian?

      December 11, 2010 at 11:43 am |
    • HotAirAce

I just asked PETA, via their website, if they will be investigating...

What did PETA say? We cannot respond every time someone’s pet falls down, especially if the pet was not hurt, most likely.

      No response so far.

Still no response from PETA, and I don't actually expect one. I must confess (and certainly not in the religious sense) that my motives in reporting the camel's plight to PETA were not ultriistic. I was hoping that one over-the-top organization (PETA) would waste some of their time harrassing another over-the-top organization (the christians in Florida). Now before anyone calls me a sc-um-sucking animal hater, please be advised that we have pets that are very well treated – I just think PETA has taken the well-being of animals to the silly extreme.

I like the PETA chicks who protest without clothes. Very natural!
And I have no idea what they are protesting, either! Even better!
