Not all in northern Sudan embrace Islamic lawMany southerners are voting for an independent Sudan this week, thirsting for freedom from the north. They equate sharia or Islamic law that President Omar al-Bashir has vowed to strengthen with slavery. Al-Bashir has declared that if Southern Sudan votes in favor of separation, sharia will become the main source of Sudan's Constitution, Islam the state religion and Arabic the official language. Many in the north are embracing al-Bashir's pledge. Newspaper publisher Al-Tayib Mustafa said he will be happy to see his nation break in two. Islam, he said, comes above all else. "When the south goes, then the north will be Muslim," he said. "For a Muslim, unity is not as important as religion. Sharia is religion. Sharia is Islam." |

My wish for Sudan that it becomes some thing like the USA as states under one government rather than total seperation which will cause many disadvantages for the area and it's populations...
A fast conclusion to the conflict in Sudan:
Worth reiteration:
Recognizing the flaws, follies and frauds in the foundations of Islam, Judaism and Christianity by the "bowers", kneelers" and "pew peasants" will quickly converge these religions into some simple rules of life (e.g. Do No Harm). No koran, bible, clerics, nuns, monks, imams, evangelicals, ayatollahs, rabbis, professors of religion or priests needed or desired. Ditto for houses and classes of "worthless worship" aka mosques, churches, basilicas, cathedrals, temples and synagogues.
@ reality
Hey – I'm trying to understand what you are saying...sincerely... are you saying that all of these things should be eliminated so that the "Do no harm" philosophy can be established?
Katherine,
We can easily replace all religions with one rule i.e. Do No Harm!. No religion, philosophy and/or non-profit group needed to do that. All you need is the correct mind set!!!
No pain no gain. No more resetting of bones, no more killing cancers with kemo, no more exercising, no more hard labor...
Reality.
You know although have disagreed with you for so long and tried to defend and protect Islam and Religion but some how now I agree with you that it is better to live as secular nations even if had religions among our communities...?
You will ask me why I will say it is true Religions can not be taken or depended on as rulers! Again you will ask why that is?
I will say seeing who Religions became very very Rich from it's followers but will not support the living of other poor branches of their faith! We see here that the rich Christian branches are not supporting for example this Coptic branch in Egypt working as Rubbish collectors and junk yards? Say have Christians helped it to have a decent life or at least develop what they know best with equipment's at least towards recycling as green move this way they would have helped them needy for decent living and conserved environment and nature? But instead of that they would ignore of compel them to become into their path before they give a lending hand or assistance....?!? Well am not saying Christians among them selves only but even for Islam and Judos are no different from that and that's why you have uneven wealth and growth distribution !?
We have a saying that says "To cut mans living is like cutting his head and those who depend on him for support"!? This is called Poverty and Hunger which makes Man Angry and who becomes Angry Rebels against all if no justice or mercy found in to undertaking terrorist acts against the di-scrim-inating systems on basis of Faith or Path or Race !? Any statistics how many poor and rich from the branches of each faith of at least the three Abrahamic faiths or Religions ?!? Only then we will know how cruel they are to each other when God says in his scriptures that we are all descended from one nation..the nation that were saved by Noah's Ark PBUH...! We are one nation being on the Faith of Abraham and derived from him and his followers!? But still Brother to Brother or Faith to Faith or Path to Path or Branch to branch are being stingy to each other and Greed drive them against each other, the living being means nothing to them as being just a Mankind a Human Being a creation among creations...!? So it is either with us or against us thing...!?
We have to drive those branches to share love, charity and respect of belief among them selves and then driving those three Religions to have the same among them selves only then we will see peace and prosperity on people of earth and only then you will find disbelievers believe that there is God because there is love of sharing and caring among all otherwise sorry to say Religions are no different than Gangsters who have no love for God Creations believers or not...!?
Peace to you Reality and Guys for helping me to realize why you dispute religions and not for disbelieving but for knowing that this is not what is reflected on earth towards each other as you saw more hate among them than it is love and more wars among them than it is peace...?!?
But surely what we are doing is not the right solution to correct this and to make them do what they should for good deeds causes and not co-nspir-acy causes..nor for ra-ci-al causes....!? The Charity is to help them to make a decent living and not to feed them only doing nothing, but are to get them to help and support them selves making a living...!? And such as those could be become the driving force for nature conservation and green recycling projects and so on....?!

What was I supposed to learn other than islam is just another set of superst-itions and like the christian superst-ition says it's not superst-ition? Once again, circular logic reigns supreme among the believers.
Are you sure you read it ? No I don't think so...since your comments specify that you did not but any way it says that the astrology that you relay on is Nil and who ever tells it are nothing but liars and no one can tell future...
I read it. Same old argument that your myths are true and all else are false. Nothing new there.
HotAirAce.
I see now I understand what you mean...but is there other way where you read and think about our myths with the others myths and out of that you leave and take to make your self a faith in some thing since God has given us all the senses, mind and heart to feel where the truth lays?! Otherwise there is no other way else to tell, is there? Any way I would love to be of assistance with my limited knowldge but for you if you happened to have read the Gospels and torah then happen to read the Quran your knowldge would be far more than mine which is limited to Quran and the stories it contains....knowing God is not wrong even if religions or who carry them are wrong...this is the only myth I would love that you take and accept from me..which a day will come you would thank me for...peace...
Separation means civil wars between both internally or boarders since it seems the purpose now is to have single country or unity divided into religious countries and then flaming wars between them to end them selves for some other power or powers...
My country was divided in two for many many years and were always in political fights because one was socialists and the other one was not..for many years we have suffered the fears of wars and terror. And only after unity and after a big civil war for many months the ruling party was able to gain control and maintain unity but the pity that already some want separation although it means going back to that fear and civil di-scri-mina-tion...
One more time:
Recognizing the flaws, follies and frauds in the foundations of Islam, Judaism and Christianity by the "bowers", kneelers" and "pew peasants" will quickly converge these religions into some simple rules of life (e.g. Do No Harm). No koran, bible, clerics, nuns, monks, imams, evangelicals, ayatollahs, rabbis, professors of religion or priests needed or desired. Ditto for houses and classes of "worthless worship" aka mosques, churches, basilicas, cathedrals, temples and synagogues
Reality,
I agree that one of the major goals of all religions should be the "simple rules of life (e.g. Do No Harm)." The trouble with eliminating religion from society would leave a vacuum as to what Doing No Harm looks like. The reason is that human life is impactful. Wouldn't you agree that all living things, especially humans, have some sort of impact on other living things, either positive or negative? Another term for negative impacts is "harm." For instance, when I turn on a light switch, the bulb is energized by electricity which comes either from burning a fuel that "harms" others because it pollutes the air or from a solar collector that "harms" others by shading them and denying them a right to sunlight. Human life is impactful to the environment. A plate of food set aside for me is not available for anyone else and starving people are, thus, "harmed." My point is that a goal of no-harm is a noble goal but the boundaries between what benefits one person at the expense of others needs to be guided by something higher than the rules of the one being benefitted. (By the way, abolishing my religion would "harm" my rights to believe.) The simple rule of life "Do No Harm" is well-intentioned but impossible for humanity. Visit my blog at http://www.idareyoudeaconpete.org to discuss this in depth – "I Care If You Dare..."
This is an opportunity for the Sudanese to become a stronger country by not being religious or even better religious freedom. Focus on literacy, industries that create a better infrastructure, and agriculture.
Sounds like we can expect more "mini civil wars, at least in the north... I feel for all the people in Sudan and hope that they can soon shed their devisive religious beliefs.
great point!

---------------------
Ahhhh, the beauty of Theocratical state-run/sponsered religion at it's finest. And you don't just find it in Islamic dominated countries, but there are, as I understand it, some Christian dominated countries(..The Congo, Nigeria...?) that create terrible atrocities on humans that don't believe like or kowtow to the majority in power.
It is truly a tragedy that some people in power use religion, whether it is Islam, Christianity, Judaism, etc... to further their (often) extremely radical agendas at the expense of the minorities, while they truly stomp on personal freedoms at a minimum, to extreme torture and violence at its worst.
I truly hope that this doesn't escalate in a similar way here in the U.S. via Christianity or Islam, or any other 'religion.'
This would be a truly terrible thing, should any of these radicalized zealots come into power.
Peace...
*(truly)– Sorry for the over use of the word (4 x's)-yikes...!
Peace...
But Peace, you have to remember that even if people stop using God as their excuse there will always be another reason to cause atrocities. Two of the worst atrocities in the 20th centry were conducted by secular, trying to get rid of religion dictators. So I would agree with your statement with or without the religion context.
It is truly a tragedy that some people in power further their (often) extremely radical agendas at the expense of the minorities, while they truly stomp on personal freedoms at a minimum, to extreme torture and violence at its worst.
@Mike, not me
Hi Mike... Hope that you have been well...?
Yes, I definitely agree with you. I was, however, merely commenting within the (context of the article) and the implications and dangers of having radical religious extremists' in power. As far as I am aware, religious extremists in power... or in the majority, lead to terrible consequences.
And of course, 'any' radicalized extremist... believer or non-beliver... is potentially dangerous. That was and is already a given within the whole context of our World.
However, extremists... acting on their radicalized zealotry and unproven beliefs in the name of their God is what scares the sh!t out of me. (See direct evidence from the example in this article).
Good to hear from you Mike...
Peace...
