The answer should be YES or NO. DID YOU DO IT YES OR NO? I can't imagine a Bishop sending shirtless pictures to boys from his Church. It is not about Media, Black or White. It is about these guys acting like they were GOD and can tell people what to do all the times: "say to your neighbor I love you", "say to 5 people, I love you too", "Squeeze your neighbor and say wake and his is talking about you", "say to your neighbor, you are looking good today"... This has nothing to do with preaching but that's they way they are acting in Churches. Why this man is traveling around the world with boys? Don't be quick to defend, this is not good for a preacher.

I don't know if he did it or not but I want to say that just because he didn't fight it means he's guilty is wrong. No one has EVER been as innocent as Jesus when He went to the cross. Yet, the Bible says He said or did nothing, just trusted in the one who sent him (Ist Peter 2:24). The next verse (25) says He is OUR example. Keeping your mouth shut and trusting God may not seem right to all, but it is scriptural, and as I see it in scripture, we have an example to follow.

I guess it comes down to if you believe the scripture is "the word of God'. My Bible lists the publisher, but not the contributing authors. Nor does it give any credit to the interpreters. To me, the Bible is just a collection of cautionary tales.Stories with moral value. Written by Man, interpreted by Man, and published by Man. Bible, Koran, Book of Morman, Greek and Roman Mythology.

I don't get it. Hiding behind an idiom, in this case "Jesus" or "God" does not forgive or make wrongs right. To seek forgiveness and to truly repent means to take responsibility for one's actions. It means to be able to reflect on the past and see the light. It means to say "i'm sorry" and truly mean it. These people both in the church and on this blog should be ashamed for suggesting that muttering a few words to "God" will make everything right. Regardless of the truth, this man made poor choices. Then again, so probably did all of his people blindly following him "in the name of the Lord." Give me a break. This man is flesh, just like the rest of us.

Yes, I bet he has "impact" on some young men's life. Yes, lives have "been changed."
Why is it when a white man does something wrong we all turn on them, and when a black man does the same, we embrace him and make excuses and feel lenient and sad? Hmm. Yes, lets see. OJ. Kobe Bryant. Tiger Woods. Leonard Little. Poor guys; it must be hard being black. Sorry guys; I guess I'm just a racist, and not just pointing something out.

    January 29, 2011 at 9:13 pm |
    • wow...

You certainly aren't racist for that, because I agree. But, unfortunately, when most of the criminals you see on the news are young black men, you hate seeing men that are in the global spotlight making black men look bad as well.

But, yeah, it's not as EASY as you may think being black. No one is above the law, so they deserve the consequences, but let's not be ignorant enough to think that racism doesn't exist anymore and people don't judge all black people for the actions of a few.

He did what he did and his sheep will defend him to the end. When will people realize the magicial man in the sky does not exist and religion is the new slavery! Pastor\Preachers are no different then pimps, they put their workers on the track to get THEIR money to help them live their lives. Why is it that every pastor\preacher has to have the biggest house and best care while their people are often just getting by?

    January 29, 2011 at 9:05 pm |
    • wow...

The sad part of what you just said is that you think because of the pastors you've seen that everyone is like that. I happen to go to a church where he doesn't even like doing offering. He encourages financial peace and everything we do moneywise is without borrowing, the biblical way to do things. Preachers like mine are few and far between, but they do exist. I had to search to find one that doesn't skip verses in the Bible like some don't matter, but I found one.

I have made many posts WITHOUT the "trigger" buzzwords and still hade my posts "moderated". This site lies to their readers.

      January 29, 2011 at 9:27 pm |
    • Maybe

There must be something in your post triggering the auto filter - a word fragment within a word possibly. They are difficult to find sometimes. Silly CNN, they won't fix it. Have you seen @Reality's pretty comprehensive list?

p.s. I suppose you could try posting it a sentence at a time, until you see which one is setting it off 🙂

The moderators of this blog have set up a secret forbidden word filter which unfortunately not only will delete or put your comment in the dreaded "waiting for moderation" category but also will do the same to words having fragments of these words. For example, "t-it" is in the set but the filter will also pick up words like Hitt-ite, t-itle, beati-tude, practi-tioner and const-tution. Then there are words like "an-al" thereby flagging words like an-alysis and "c-um" flagging acc-umulate or doc-ument. And there is also "r-a-pe", “a-pe” and “gra-pe”, "s-ex", and "hom-ose-xual". You would think that the moderators would have corrected this by now considering the number of times this has been commented on but they have not. To be safe, I typically add hyphens in any word that said filter might judge "of-fensive".

      • More than one web address will also activate “waiting for moderation”. Make sure the web address does not have any forbidden word or fragment.

Sum Dude routinely updates the list of forbidden words/fragments.

Two of the most filtered words are those containing the fragments "t-it" and "c-um". To quickly check your comments for these fragments, click on "Edit" on the Tool Bar and then "Find" on the menu. Add a fragment (without hyphens) one at a time in the "Find" slot and the offending fragment will be highlighted in your comments before you hit the Post button. Hyphenate the fragment(s) and then hit Post. And remember more than one full web address will also gain a "Waiting for Moderation".

      1. Here's my latest list – this seems like a good spot to set this down, as nobody's posting much on this thread.....
bad letter combinations / words to avoid if you want to post that wonderful argument:
Many, if not most are buried within other words, but I am not shooting for the perfect list, so use your imagination and add any words I have missed as a comment (no one has done this yet)
      – I found some but forgot to write them down. (shrugs).
      c-um.........as in doc-ument, accu-mulate, etc.
sp-ic........as in disp-icable (look out Sylvester the cat!)
      ho-mo...whether ho-mo sapiens or ho-mose-xual, etc.
      t-it.........const-itution, att-itude, ent-ities, etc.
tw-at.....as in wristw-atch, (an unexpected one)
      va-g....as in extrava-gant, va-gina, va-grant
      ar-se....yet "ass" is not filtered!
      jacka-ss...but ass is fine lol
      p-is.....as in pi-stol, lapi-s, pi-ssed, etc.
      o ficti-tious, repeti-tion, competi-tion.
There are more, so do not assume that this is complete.
okay words that you might not expect to be filtered....!!!

Here's a word to add to the banned list: co-co-on
whether it's c-oc, or co-on, this is ridiculous

Every man must "carry his own cross" and Eddie Long has never denied or explained himself therefore I find it very disturbing when others want to "carry Long's cross" when it's his to bear alone.
