Philly priest charged in scandal

CNN's Susan Candiotti examines charges against Monsignor William Lynn, a Philadelphia priest in a sex scandal.

Editor's NoteThe Archdiocese of Philadelphia released this statement on Sunday afternoon:

"Parishioners at Saint Joseph Parish in Downingtown were informed at Masses this weekend that Cardinal Justin Rigali has placed Monsignor William J. Lynn, Pastor, on administrative leave effective Friday, February 18, 2011."

Earlier the archdiocese had said Lynn was voluntarily taking time off to be with his family.

    Good Evening Truth! 🙂
Again, a real pelasure to read your pots to me. I definitely will check out those Gospel passages. I did read some of what you wrote to CatholicMom on the other blog, but have to re -read as I was interrupted by a incoming phone call, and did not get back yet. I will pour myself a good cup of coffee, and go read it. I am sure you had alot of good stuff as usual.

Will check out your other recommendations as well. Yes, lol, the one about the cannabis oil did make me chuckle a bit...I guess my relationship and belief in the Lord is cast within my heart, and will never change. But what the heck, I can take a look. Mayby if nothing else I can offer a good case against it,lol!

You have a great evening, I am off to read and hopefully post, before the hour finds me to tired to do so. Time flys when your on the pc! See ya soon somewhere here in cyber space....Sincerely, Mary

@Mary ***I was interrupted by a incoming phone call, and did not get back yet. I will pour myself a good cup of coffee, and go read it. I am sure you had alot of good stuff as usual.***

LOL... I learned today that the invention of the push button telephone over the rotary telephone saved the average American 400 hours of dialing time.

***Will check out your other recommendations as well. Yes, lol, the one about the cannabis oil did make me chuckle a bit...I guess my relationship and belief in the Lord is cast within my heart, and will never change. But what the heck, I can take a look. Mayby if nothing else I can offer a good case against it,lol!***

I thought similarly before I read it. I was looking for something else and "stumbled" across it via Google by accident. So I thought, "this is going to be hilarious" and started reading it. From there I read the actual HighTimes article and by the end of the two articles, I found the notion intriguing. I had no idea as to Carl Ruck's qualifications and looked them up after the fact.

Like I said, I don't how much credence I give it, but some of the points he makes are pretty solid. It is interesting because back in the day of Jesus, he wasn't the only one running around performing "miracles" according other texts from the period. If the cannabis was indeed used (along with other mind altering items he discusses), it makes some level of sense. The Native Americans took part in items like this (peyote) as did many other cultures. Even the Church uses wine which is also a mind altering substance (just that we as a society have become accepting of it as a "norm").

So I am in no way saying that it is true, just saying that the point of view is interesting. 😉

***Time flys when your on the pc!***

Get yourself a Mac.... you'll never go back. 🙂

***See ya soon somewhere here in cyber space....Sincerely, Mary***

Take care and have a good day!
