Blessed are the bikers and their bikes

By John Couwels, CNN

I bless you in the name of BMW, Honda and Harley Davidson, amen, could have been the blessing from a local Catholic priest to bikers attending Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Instead the Rev. Philip Egitto, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Daytona, offered more traditional blessings for bikers and their motorcycles in the parish parking lot following Ash Wednesday services.

For Christians, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of a 40-day period of reconciliation, fasting and abstinence. Christians are encouraged to attend services in which clergy place ashes in the shape of the cross on the forehead of a worshipper.

“As bikers, they deserve the same as everyone else,” said Egitto, who has been offering what he calls “bike blessings” since coming to the church 15 years ago. He said the prayers are “to bless their lives and their bikes.”

Beyond the blessings, Egitto said his parish of 400 families has always welcomed bikers with open arms.

“It’s about hospitality,” he said. “All are welcomed at our church to give him thanks and praise.”

This year Bike Week coincidentally fell on the same week as Ash Wednesday. Following the evening Ash Wednesday service, two couples pulled their motorcycles near the church vestibule, and Egitto prayed while the cyclists stayed on their bikes, still wearing their leather protective jackets, gloves and helmets.

Egitto sprinkled them with holy water, asking God to bless them and their bikes for a safe journey during Bike Week and on their return trip home.

A Tampa couple who received the blessing said they were grateful. Barbara Presnel, 55, with a black ash cross on her forehead after attending Catholic Mass, said she didn't realize that Ash Wednesday was the same week when she booked the trip to Daytona.

“I always observe Ash Wednesday,” Presnel said. “It’s an important day for me. I always pop into church and talk to God a little bit and get my ashes to get Lent off to a spiritual foot.”

Presnel said she felt it’s right to do so, especially during Bike Week.

“In the middle of all the craziness, I felt it was important to take a few moments out to count our blessings and to pray for the family,” she said.

@ my above post. Prob should clarify that Jesus wasnt for war but the foloowing religion that came after his death sure as hell was. Most of all wars in history have been started due to 3 things. Religion, Resources, and Pride. And religion definitely eats the majority of that pie. What a waste!

Actually, atheism is a fairly recent thing, the majority of the world was theistic in one way or another in history.

So it was religious vs. religious for the majority of things. But of course, you'd have to have a clue about history. Which it's clear that you don't.

Atheism is the default logical position. As the average education of the world increases, so does the belief in God decrease.

No one except the ignorant buy into the crazy writings of any religion anymore. Simply because it's easily shown that it produces inconsistent results and contributes nothing to understanding the world.

      Reality is harsh eh?

Bob, you wrote ... "Actually, atheism is a fairly recent thing, the majority of the world was theistic in one way or another in history. 1. You assume atheist are the only intellectuals in the world and are the only ones that know history. False to both assumptions and you know what assumptions do to the person.

      2. More people are reading the Bible than not reading His truth. Jesus' truth stands for eternity. Because you can't or refuse to grasp or acknowledge this concept (truth), has nothing to do with Christians that comprehend His truth.

      3. If one forgets history it is bound to repeat itself. Hence, eyes to see, ears to hear plus ...

      Proverbs 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

Proverbs 1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Proverbs 1:5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
      Proverbs 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

      Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

      Proverbs 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

Proverbs 1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Proverbs 1:5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

As I posted already, carnally minded folks blinded by sin(s) start wars and leaders of countries that are being attacked need to act accordingly when so many lives of their countrymen are at stake.

      4. Just because you don't comprehend Jesus' truth about life and the hereafter in the Bible, doesn't mean your lack of understanding pertains to Christian that read His truth perfectly clear. The Book of Revelation is proving everything is on the exact course as Jesus' truth states.

As I stated in previous posts, it would be nice if you folks enjoyed what the Bible is revealing to All of us. You loose. Not Christians that are AWE of His truth.

      Peace.

"More people are reading the Bible than not reading His truth. Jesus' truth stands for eternity. Because you can't or refuse to grasp or acknowledge this concept (truth), has nothing to do with Christians that comprehend His truth."

That's funny you are even accusing Christians that they don't comprehend his truth and don't understand, which is it. Or is this another example of your need to be right through Satan's ego....

      1. You assume atheist are the only intellectuals in the world and are the only ones that know history. False to both assumptions and you know what assumptions do to the person.

      > No I don't. Perhaps you should take a course in reading comprehension. Can you link the specific quote where I state that the only intellectuals are atheist?

      2. More people are reading the Bible than not reading His truth. Jesus' truth stands for eternity. Because you can't or refuse to grasp or acknowledge this concept (truth), has nothing to do with Christians that comprehend His truth.

      > Then why are the numbers of the faithful dropping?

      3. If one forgets history it is bound to repeat itself. Hence, eyes to see, ears to hear plus ...

      > If we kept our culture today and forgot about black slavery, it would not occur again because we now understand the concept of slavery and how evil it is. Similarly if we forgot about Zeus, we wouldn't be bound to worship Zeus again. That shows your statment to be bunk.

      Proverbs 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
      Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
      Proverbs 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
Proverbs 1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
Proverbs 1:5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

      > This is a common flaw in the bible. You don't gain wisdom from instruction. You gain wisdom from rational analysis of events that have occured to you. Same thing with Justice and a sense of right. It's not told to you, it's a product of the society that exists at the time.

As I posted already, carnally minded folks blinded by sin(s) start wars and leaders of countries that are being attacked need to act accordingly when so many lives of their countrymen are at stake.

      > Given that it works for both sides, the Christians and anyone else, and vice versa, I find this statement lacking in any real point.

      4. Just because you don't comprehend Jesus' truth about life and the hereafter in the Bible, doesn't mean your lack of understanding pertains to Christian that read His truth perfectly clear. The Book of Revelation is proving everything is on the exact course as Jesus' truth states.

      > You're asserting that I don't understand Jesus' truth because I don't accept it. Could it not be that I have actually understood the bible and came to the correct conclusion that it's bunk? See, I have considered the option that I might be wrong about the bible. That's called being open minded. You however are incapable of considering the bible as flawed. That's being close minded. And people who are close minded generally do not accept anything that is against their viewpoint. That is not the path to truth. The path to truth is critical evaluation and reason. You use it every day when a boaster is telling you about his third ferrari. You use it when a telemarketer calls you selling something. Why is it you don't use it when it comes to your faith?

      > As I stated in previous posts, it would be nice if you folks enjoyed what the Bible is revealing to All of us. You loose. Not Christians that are AWE of His truth.

Enjoy what? Another dark age where we're not allowed to investgate science in lieu of the "revealed truth" of the bible? What has that gotten us? Hell, if you'd have it your way, we wouldn't know about the laws, theory and facts of evolution.

Yes, there are evolutionary laws. Yes, there are evolutionary facts. Yes, there is an evolutionary theory. The bible has been proven to be wrong about Genesis. It's been proven wrong about Noah's ark. It's been proven wrong about the account of Jesus' birth. It's been shown to be inconsistent with the discovery of the open tomb. It's been shown to have lied about how the holy men rose up from their graves at the time of the resurrection and walked around the town.

      > Peace.

It's ok to use your intellect to think about things. Thinking is not a tool of Satan.

bp, your really itching for that short slide down, down, down.

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. (see also Psalm 53:1).

Every single last person that rejects the truth of the Bible (Romans 1:18-25), and thus, the Truth of the Bible, God (John 14:6), will burn them forever in the lake of fire for hating Him so (Deuteronomy 32:39-41; Revelation 20:11-15). "not receive the love of the truth" (as in 2 Thessalonians 2:10). (2 Timothy 2:16-17).

They will find themselves weeping and gnashing their teeth (e.g. Matthew 8:12; 22:1-14; 25;14-30; Luke 13:28).

Why? Because, you are on the broad way (Matthew 7:13; 2 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 4:3). You have not the characteristic of Christ's sheep (John 10:5).

How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. (Proverbs 1:22).

God rejects all those who stray from His word. It does not matter what the subject matter is. There is no salvation for any who heed not holy writ, as Psalm 119:21 proclaims,

You rebuke the proud, the cursed, who stray from Your commandments.

Proverbs 17:4 declares, An evildoer gives heed to false lips.

The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. (Psalm 14:2-3; 53:2-3).

What man can live and not see death? (Psalm 89:48).

      This is because,

all who behave unrighteously are an abomination to the Lord (Deuteronomy 25:16).

MEN DO NOT SEEK GOD ". . . There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God." Romans 3:10-18 (John 6:44).

"For the wicked [man without God] boasts of his heart's desire; he blesses the greedy and renounces the Lord. The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts." Psalm 10:3-4.

      Amen.

      wcatholic2,

I would rather ride a horse but my husband goes for the bike every time.

We also have had our pets blessed by our priest where we all congregated on the ball field with our pets; there were chickens, horses, little caged creatures, as well as dogs and cats; we love being blessed by our priest, as well as having pets and our houses blessed and even our food and other objects!

We had a most holy priest who rode his motorcycle to his mission Church and he had a fear of the Lord that he was able to impart to us. [‘fear’ of the Lord, means ‘awe’ of the Lord.] Father Deutsch helped us understand what fear means when it comes to living your life for the love of neighbor. It is an awesome way to live….it drives out fear of illness, pain, and sufferings and there is no uncertainty to fear. Joy is found in everything…

If you want others to wipe out our way of life just remember our courageous men and women in the military are fighting for your rights to be blogging on this site so you aren't incarcerated to rot your life away in one of their prison camps. That's if they don't chop your head off first."

@ HeavenSent First off I am in the military and I am athiest and currently deployed overseas and I am here to protect all beliefs not just yours. Be in christianity, muslim, judism, polytheism, buddism and yes Atheism as well. Dont think us soldiers over here exclusively fight for your version of religion. Quite frankly its insulting especially by the fact that of all the people here posting your the only one who seems to antagonize other peoples beliefs while everyone else at least attempts to have a serious open discussion about the existence of a higher power. Further more if your going to call people traitors you might want to look at yourself first, I do belive America was founded upon principles of freedom of religion or the absense there of if one chooses. Also if you even want to consider be taking seriously you might want to add some sort of information that backs up anything you say. Telling people there wrong cause the bible says so proves nothing except that your an idiot!

Po.. I would imagine that anyone who is indoctrinated at birth with visions of a hellish afterlife, told they are sinners, are not worthy, and have to follow strict guidelines or there will be consequences has to unwind at some point. religions are death cults, and view life with a jaundiced eye.. and its adherents will follow suit. It has to affect the mind, and those images become real, or at the very least confuse reality with fantasy.

      March 13, 2011 at 10:38 pm |
    • Po

      @EvolvedDNA
It does affect the mind. It affected mine. I used to be a strong believer able to rationalize my delusions with the greatest of ease. Everything was mystical and mysterious. Each small disillusionment added to the growing pile until I had to admit that there wasn't anything I could really count on if it was based in mystical spiritualism.

Now I am more like someone who has quit a dangerous drug, a prohibitionist against religion, and my anger is righteous.
But these are still people we're talking about. Each one an individual.

Religion just fills a need caused by our distorted brain functions.
Our higher brain functions are distortions/extensions of the lower brain functions.
That's one of the biggest reasons why we have so many problems as a species.

There is also the environment that children are raised in.
Things are tough enough without this nonsense, but maybe one day we will be free.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to peti-tion the Government for a redress of grievances." Anyone is allowed to practice their religion here in the US. To tell people to move because they don't agree with your version of the truth is un-American.

EvolvedDNA, you are just as guilty as false preachers that twist and contort His truth to those that attend mass. Those that preach untruths about God are the 1st to be judged. Those that mock God and disbelieve His existence are in the same category as the false preachers. Christians have tried to warn you and other non-believers and you think God to be a fairy tale. Do you even comprehend why you don't believe? You can tell me a 1000 reasons and I can tell you the truth, but, that would be blocked. I just pray that before you take your last breath in this life, you ask God for His forgiveness. That's all. Just one small favor to save your soul before it's too late.

"Because you disdained all my counsel; and would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when your terror comes like a storm. . ." Proverbs 1:25-27.

"Indeed, they belch with their mouth; swords are in their lips; For they say, 'Who hears?' But you, O Lord, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision." Psalm 59:7-8 (Ps 37:13, 2:4).

      GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." Galatians 6:7.

I got your attention James. Didn't I? Now, maybe you'll read more of Jesus' truth on these posts than play the love mantra over and over again in your mind ... that so many false preachers teach in the world today. They aren't going to save your soul only allowing you to learn that Jesus is love and nothing more. That famous lie out there that to love the sinner, not the sin isn't written anywhere in the Bible. Actually, reading the Bible, comprehending what you read, and applying it to your life will save your soul. Knowing that there are so many facets to Jesus will help to save your soul. Doing what Jesus asks of you (written in the Bible) will most definitely save your soul.

      Amen.

"That famous lie out there that to love the sinner, not the sin isn't written anywhere in the Bible." That is so funny since there are so many that use that line when it comes to gays. LJ, that line is used by false teachers to appease sinners who don't want to give up their sinful ways. It is not Jesus' truth written in the Bible. If you can find it in any of the material you read, prove it is attached to scriptures. I post Jesus' Truth. You seem to have a hangup with that lie you've adopted. Bikers of the world, listen up!

The Apostles' Creed 2010: (updated using the studies of contemporary NT exegetes)

I might believe in a god whose existence cannot be proven
and said god if he/she/it exists resides in an unproven,
human-created state of bliss called heaven.

I believe there was a 1st century CE, Jewish, simple,
preacher-man who was conceived by a Jewish carpenter
named Joseph living in Nazareth and born of a young Jewish
girl named Mary. (some say he was a ma-mzer)

Jesus was summarily crucified for being a temple rabble-rouser by
the Roman troops in Jerusalem serving under under Pontius Pilate,

He was buried in an unmarked grave and still lies
a-mouldering in the ground somewhere outside of
    Jerusalem.

Said Jesus' story was embellished and "mythicized" by
many local semi-fiction writers. A bodily resurrection and
ascension story was promulgated to compete with the
Caesar myths. Said stories were so popular that they
grew into a religion known today as Catholicism/Christianity
and featuring dark-age, daily wine to blood and bread to body rituals
called the eucharistic sacrifice of the non-atoning Jesus.

Learning only that fraction of Jesus does NOT save your soul. Real Christians that actually read the Bible will fight (Mark 9:49) for Jesus' truth to be heard. The coward word's definition is as follows: ... it is easy to live unrighteously with carnal sin (lies of satan). It takes courage to live how Jesus wants us to live, righteously (His spiritual truth) and stop the cycle of carnally sinning.

Yes, Bob, but only those that refuse to learn His wisdom are going to be wiped out when Jesus destroys SIN. Christians that love and follow Him because we read His letter to us (the Bible) and do what He requires to save our souls have absolutely nothing to worry about.

So, are you worried? You should be concerned.

I hope you read the Bible, do as He requires, which will save your soul. He doesn't give the excuse that you've never gotten around to reading His letter He wrote to all of us (the Bible).

      Peace.

    • The Bobinator

      > Yes, Bob, but only those that refuse to learn His wisdom are going to be wiped out when Jesus destroys SIN.

So Jesus will end up destroying what God intentionally created. That doesn't make much sense.

      > Christians that love and follow Him because we read His letter to us (the Bible) and do what He requires to save our souls have absolutely nothing to worry about.

See, this is rather telling. Jesus is cathartic for you isn't he? You don't have to worry about bad things in your life. You don't have to think of your friends being really gone and you really don't have to confront the fact that you will die and cease to exist. Children build fanciful and elaborate ideas to deal with stress, from imaginary friends to play rituals. Adults face reality, even if they don't like it.

      > So, are you worried? You should be concerned.

Why should I be concerned? Because God who loves me will punish me forever because I couldn't bring myself to intelligently believe in a book that is inconsistent with the facts of the world that are demonstratable? Why would God punish someone who cannot intelligently believe a book that can be shown to be inconsistent with the facts we know of the world? A book that has no evidence to support it's claimed supernatural events. And conversely, why would God reward someone for not thinking and blindly following a God, not thinking about his/her faith?

      > I hope you read the Bible, do as He requires, which will save your soul. He doesn't give the excuse that you've never gotten around to reading His letter He wrote to all of us (the Bible).

I have read the bible. You keep on saying that I haven't. I have. Are you not able to understand that someone can read the bible and not believe it?

      > Peace.

I have peace through confronting reality and honestly dealing with it. I don't delay my fears or hide from them behind faith.

These are some of my favorites ...

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

      Hebrews 11:1

So then faith {cometh} by hearing, and hear- ing by the word of God.

      Romans 10:17

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think {of himself} more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

      Romans 12:3

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of {our} faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

      Hebrews 12:2

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this moun- tain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

      Matthew 17:20

      (22) And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. (23) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive {them}, and ye shall have {them}.

      Mark 11:22-24

For therein is the righteousness of God re- vealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

      Romans 1:17

For we walk by faith, not by sight:

      2 Corinthians 5:7

But without faith {it is} impossible to please {him}: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and {that} he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

      Hebrews 11:6

      (7) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (8) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see {him} not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy un- speakable and full of glory: (9) Receiving the end of your faith, {even} the salvation of your {souls}.

      1 Peter 1:7-9

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, {even} our faith.

      1 John 5:4

      (28) And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. (29) Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

      Matthew 9:28-29

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things {are} possible to him that believeth.

      Mark 9:23

      Amen.

Answer: Communist countries do keep God out of their country. The USA was founded on Jesus' teachings. You don't believe in Jesus, you want to insult Him and those of us who are His faithful servants, then what do you leave us to believe? You want to wipe out God's existence, just as communist do. It is insane to fear a god that doesn't let you know what's going on, doesn't communicate, and ra-pes little girls and then murders the children to somehow "pay" for all the bad things ever done past/present/future.
It is insane to allow religions to indoctrinate children with demonstrably false and misleading delusions.
It is insane to have severe hallucinations and then do a "sui-cide by cop" scenario where the cops nail you to a cross.
It is insane to believe things that are not true just because there are things you don't understand.
It is insane to wave your arms and think that this does anything beyond blowing smoke up everyone's butts.
It is insane to think that your interpretation of your bible is followed by every other "christian" in the world.
It is insane to worship a book written by other people who could not keep their stories straight.
It is insane to think we are "born into sin" when it's perfectly obvious that babies are innocent of any wrongdoing.
It is insane to condemn people for using whatever they have to do the best they can.
It is also insane to fear a god and then be totally lazy fucks about finding any usable or reliable information about what that god wants and how to properly articulate this fear.

Prove to me that your god exists or admit you don't really know what the hell you're talking about.

I also know when to Matthew 7:6 when dealing with their continued bad behaviors on these blogs. Jesus never said we had to be push overs for those that want to attack Him. Turning the other cheek does not mean taking their baloney. It means Matthew 7:6, as I stated above.

      Meh (new handle LOL),

It is insane to not know that fear the Lord means to love and honor Him and that without His wisdom to guide your life you‘ll walk into a path of bears or wolves. It’s insane not to read the surrounding scriptures to learn what the subject matter is, what the actions are, and what the outcome (lesson learned) is.

It is insane to not know what you do, not to take responsibility for your thoughts/beliefs, words and action in life, that being a Narcissist at least of the anti-social personalities in life that goes against community.

It is insane to believe you know more that Jesus who is I AM ... meaning ALL to non-believers.

It’s insane to mock at what He teaches for never humbling yourself (meaning shelf your ego) to read, comprehend and then abide (apply) His wisdom to your life to conduct righteous results.

It’s insane for you not to understand that you are just as guilty as your forefathers who crucified an innocent man who taught ALL to love one another.

It’s insane for you to believe the ways of the world and not know that you are a spiritual being, housed in human form and that the world is satan’s playground to lie, deceive and capture your soul to follow him to the eternal flames ... to be blotted out, no more him or you.

It’s insane not to know how to read all the books of the Bible and cross reference them with each other to comprehend His spiritual teachings about the TRUTH about life and the hereafter.

It’s insane not to know that Jesus allows souls to be born of woman, knowing they are too sensitive to continue living in this corrupt world of satan’s so He immediately takes them back home to Him to live with Him for eternity.

It’s insane to believe that you or anyone that refuses to follow Jesus’ by reading, comprehending and abiding in His blueprint (the Bible) how to be the best that He wants us to be while housed in human form is better than His wisdom. Get over yourself.

It’s insane if anyone buys into your egotistical lies and conceived nonsense of superiority over others.

Proof that Jesus is real. He made you, even though you have no eyes to see or ears to hear Him until you humble yourself, ask for His forgiveness as you repent for your sinful nature.

      Amen.

It is insane if it was provable that a God exists. God is not provable. Furthermore, your argument above works just as well for Ra the Sun God, meaning it's lacking any real point or evidence.

      > It is insane to not know what you do, not to take responsibility for your thoughts/beliefs, words and action in life, that being a Narcissist at least of the anti-social personalities in life that goes against community.

That's Christianity. A God who creates you knowing what you will do does not allow for free will. It's impossible. It's like saying "Billy has a choice to go anywhere he wants. As long as it's the Chuck E. Cheese at 123 Davenport Road."

      > It is insane to believe you know more that Jesus who is I AM ... meaning ALL to non-believers.

If Jesus was God yes. It's impossible to prove however. Espciially when the bible has been proven to contain forgeries and deliberate lies.

      > It’s insane to mock at what He teaches for never humbling yourself (meaning shelf your ego) to read, comprehend and then abide (apply) His wisdom to your life to conduct righteous results.

Ideas are meant to be critically evaluated. Ideas stand on their own. They're not "more right" because of who said them. Logic 101.

      > It’s insane for you not to understand that you are just as guilty as your forefathers who crucified an innocent man who taught ALL to love one another.

We're not guilty under the concept that the Christian God does not allow for free will.

      > It’s insane for you to believe the ways of the world and not know that you are a spiritual being, housed in human form and that the world is satan’s playground to lie, deceive and capture your soul to follow him to the eternal flames ... to be blotted out, no more him or you.

It's insane to believe you are without being shown.

      > It’s insane not to know how to read all the books of the Bible and cross reference them with each other to comprehend His spiritual teachings about the TRUTH about life and the hereafter.

It's insane to believe there is a singular way to read the bible given that these guidelines are concieved by man and therefore, flawed. The logical default is to take what is written as it is written.

      > It’s insane not to know that Jesus allows souls to be born of woman, knowing they are too sensitive to continue living in this corrupt world of satan’s so He immediately takes them back home to Him to live with Him for eternity.

You don't know that. You assert that based on your own personal experience. Under your definition, someone who is insane could "know" that water is actually a tool for the CIA to spy on you. And he could, according to your "logic" claim that anyone is insane for doing so.

      > It’s insane to believe that you or anyone that refuses to follow Jesus’ by reading, comprehending and abiding in His blueprint (the Bible) how to be the best that He wants us to be while housed in human form is better than His wisdom. Get over yourself.

Get over yourself. You think there is someone who specifically loves you and wants to protect you from dying. How egotistical is that? You're silly. I like you.

      > It’s insane if anyone buys into your egotistical lies and conceived nonsense of superiority over others.

Excatly. Which is why I don't believe in Christianity.

      > Proof that Jesus is real. He made you, even though you have no eyes to see or ears to hear Him until you humble yourself, ask for His forgiveness as you repent for your sinful nature.

Given your past attempts at logic, I doubt you know what proof is. Furthermore, it's asinine to suggest that to accept Jesus you have to first believe in Jesus.

      > Amen.

It was fun totally destroying your idiotic arguments. 🙂

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Just a reminder Bob. I've tried several times to post how to read the scriptures on Noah's flood. Each time my posts were blocked. I could give you all the cross referencing, but without my being able to explain how you need to view them, would be useless. Therefore, please do not ask me to post another explanation of Noah's flood. Just know the flood of Noah was not planet wide but was regional in scope. The word "World" in [Genesis 7:17-19] is "erets" in the Hebrew and means a particular part of the earth, not the entire globe.

You mentioned the Book of Genesis, but didn't tell me what subject you were referring to.

You consider it not a rag site because it supports in your view points regarding the scriptures, even if those interpretations are wrong. The point I am making is you are not taking the scriptures from the bible, you are looking up information on the internet. You are just as guilty as though you bash here. It's why I didn't fall for your lame comment of Post, because it's so easy to go to sites put in a word and pull up the scriptures related to it. Sure. The events surrounding the birth of Jesus when compared with other books and historical fact checking would be a good start and an easily provable lie. The zombies rising at the time of the resurrection would be a second good example.

The inspiration for the snake handlers would be a good example of a forgery.

LJ, that site is one of the finest true, faithful Christian sites on the web. Anyone who is blinded by sin will argue Jesus' truth. That too, is written in scriptures and that is what you are doing, to yourself. I don't know your sin, nor do I need to. Everyone blinded by sin(s) refutes Jesus' truth. But, the more you read His truth, the more your sin falls to the wayside. That too is written. As soon as you stop thinking about yourself and focusing on Him, the faster He unveils His truth to you. That too is written. As for copying and posting scriptures. There are many Bibles on line. I happen to stick with the King James version because it hasn't been polluted. Your nose is out of joint that I copy and paste from scriptures that are already on these Bible sites? It takes hours to answer someone's question. I'm not going to spend more hours re-typing scriptures when they are on the Net for anyone read, copy and paste. Too bad that you don't like that I do that, but I don't see you complaining about non-believers copying and posting from the net their propaganda. I suppose you are going to tell me you typed the lyrics to the song you posted. I'm not buying it. You went to a site where the lyrics were already typed and you copied and pasted it to your post.

I hope you enjoyed the day and this evening that the Lord made for us.

The Bobinator, my answers to your questions are below ... “ > Bob, since you mentioned that the Bible is "proven to contain forgeries and deliberate lies", would you care to elaborate on what lies and forgeries you are referring to?

Sure. The events surrounding the birth of Jesus when compared with other books and historical fact checking would be a good start and an easily provable lie. The zombies rising at the time of the resurrection would be a second good example.

Answer: Jesus was conceived on December 25 (see Elisabeth, cousin to Mary, mother of Jesus, 1:5-60, Luke 1:15, Luke 1:31, Luke 1:41, Luke 1:42, Luke 1:44, Luke 2:21). Then check with dates occurring within the churches of that day.

As for your zombies rising, which scriptures are you referring to?

Answer: Spiritually dead, walking among us, dry bones, wells without written in scriptures.

The inspiration for the snake handlers would be a good example of a forgery.

Answer: Give me the specific scriptures pertaining to snakes you’re questioning so I know which scripture to answer.

There's three you can tackle. Now quickly go to your creationist sites, who deliberately misrepresent the facts, look up the answer and then cut and paste. I mean, doing any research on your own would be too much work for something you dedicated your life to. :)”

Answer: I am on my 4th or 5th computer, loaded with scriptures. I love reading the Bible in any format. That’s the reason I haven’t posted the question of another’s because a computer where the answer is posted has been given to a friend years ago. I try to store on disk. But, sometimes I just don’t get around to it, and the material I leave on previous computers go with the new owners.

As for reading the Bible, I have been doing so since I was 13 years old. Jesus’ truth written in the Bible is the most fascinating book I have ever read, continue to read and will study until the end of my days.

As for finding true and faithful follower’s sites on the net, I learned the truth how to read these scriptures from Pastor Murray and wrote down the scriptures I needed to cross reference truth in Jesus’ scriptures. I did research on the scriptures he explained and saw for myself what he and other faithful servants discovered is true. I posted his site within the 1st week or so, I came on this site. Search back maybe 20 articles prior to this article and you will read what I wrote. Yes, Pastor Murray and other faithful followers of Jesus continue to unravel Jesus’ truth written in scriptures, as do/did true and faithful servants before him. I find it fascinating what wisdom of Jesus are being uncovered as He unveils His truth to the the faithful who seek Him. That too, is written. Christians are suppose to share His truth with others, wiser Christians sharpen other Christians, as well as others. That’s what I do and will continue to do for the rest of my days. As for the site that LJ posted, she’s newer at posting and she can deal with the holding pattern when moderators don’t accept our posts. I gave up on posting anyone’s site as well as other posts that went into the holding pattern. I noticed her post was posted because she left one of the letters out of their URL. If so, and if I had done the same, it probably would have been posted. She’s new at posting on this site, so I figured, let her post the remaining sites, because I long ago, gave up having to work around the moderators on this site.

Again, when sinners do not want to give up being comfortable with their sins, Jesus’ truth will be rejected, as with rejection of other believers of His that speak, write and share His truth with others. I welcome what wiser Christians have to share with me.

      Amen.

Since, he mentioned accidents, and I know most accidents of drivers in vehicles, hit bikers because they are following to closely, can not stop as quickly as they thought ... most not paying attention to the flow of traffic and that they are behind a lethal weapon and a biker has only his leathers and skin to protect them ...my comment was then directed to his accident portion of his post.

Bob, I've posted these scriptures in other posts. These men God's truth. God is the author.

Genesis 2:7: "And the Lord God formed man of the DUST OF THE GROUND, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul." Surely, you don't take Genesis 2:7 seriously? Do you?

Psalm 8:8: ". . . whatsoever passeth through the PATHS OF THE SEAS." How did David (the writer of Psalms) know, over 2,000 years ago, there were "paths in the seas"? David probably never even saw an ocean!

Ecclesiastes 1:7: "All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again." How did the writer of Ecclesiastes know the water cycle of condensation and evaporation in 1000 B.C.?

Job 38:19: "Where is THE WAY where light dwelleth?" How come Job didn't say where is THE PLACE where light dwelleth? Because light is always moving. How did Job know something in 1500 B.C. ?

Ecclesiastes 1:6: "The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again ACCORDING TO HIS CIRCUITS." How did the writer of Ecclesiastes know the wind traveled within circuits? How did he know with their so-called limited knowledge thousands of years ago?

Leviticus 17:11: For the life of the flesh is in the blood. What Moses wrote in 1490 B.C. written thousands of years ago, by men with such limited knowledge?

      Amen.

The born-again biker is a fixture of American religious life these days. Here's a story from several years ago in British GQ Magazine about The Sons of God, an evangelist biker group in Tuscaloosa Alabama:

According to Christianity, all of us are sinners ans in need of a Savior. Christ Jesus is that Savior.

And when He grabs a hold of you, you won't want to do whatever you want. Or, you will want to do things that are not harmful, but helpful to your neighbor.

The bike thing? Oh well...God works in mysterious ways.

I know more bikers that do for others (give freely their time, raise money for needy causes, give gifts to children, are big brothers/sisters to children that lost a parent, will be there for the down and out, etc.). You name it, the organized bikers throughout the states have it together for giving selflessly of their time, money, physical labor.

And you. What have you done with a group of your friends to help others?

      Amen.

Thank you to the benevolent bikers who are generous and helpful. Way too many of them, however, are just overgrown 4 year-old boys... anti-socially, aggressively and in-your-face (and ears) going, "vrooom, vrooom, vrooom" with their noise-maker toys.

Well, let me see what Jesus has in store for you Bobarino.

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. (see also Psalm 53:1)

(2 Timothy 2:16-17)

(Proverbs 1:22)

      Amen.

"They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one."

Since this is duplicated on other posts I am going to include this here too. ... It's ironic that the poster of this comment didn't even take into consideration that it states not one, which means it also includes them. Pitiful.

      > Well, let me see what Jesus has in store for you Bobarino.

      > The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. (see also Psalm 53:1)

First point, how can you not see the motives for this statement. Bill the car salesman: "You'd be a fool to pass up this deal. You're not a fool are you?" Second of all, the statement villifies anyone of an alternate opinion, leading morons to believe that anyone who disagrees is absolutely wrong by default.

(2 Timothy 2:16-17)

Because God loves us so much that he'll burn us forever for not placating him and telling him how good he is. Your God is an intellectual child if this is the case. A God worthy of worship would be so good as not not want it. Try thinking on that.

      > They will find themselves weeping and gnashing their teeth (e.g. Matthew 8:12; 22:1-14; 25;14-30; Luke 13:28).

So says a book. Only idiots are scared into believing something.

      > Why? Because, you are on the broad way (Matthew 7:13; 2 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 4:3). You have not the characteristic of Christ's sheep (John 10:5).

      More nonsense.

      > How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. (Proverbs 1:22)

Fools do hate knowledge. You hate and ignore anything that is in conflict with the bible. I on the other hand take a look at the strength of arguments and discount nothing. Knowledge is the way to truth. It's just a shame that the path to truth leads away, demonstatably I might add, from religion and specifically, Christianity.

      > God rejects all those who stray from His word. It does not matter what the subject matter is.

God should have been smart enough to figure out what humans would require proof. You'd figure a being with an IQ of 8,000,000 would say "Hey, maybe I should leave some sort of proof, that way there aren't thousands of religions who get it wrong."

      > There is no salvation for any who heed not holy writ, as Psalm 119:21 proclaims, You rebuke the proud, the cursed, who stray from Your commandments.

Who cares what something proclaims. You're asserting the bible is true. I'm telling you it's proven to be false. You don't want to acknowledge that. The world is in fact billions of years old, all the animals were not created at the same time, the ark event didn't occur and story of Jesus has been proven to be a fabrication. What else is wrong in the bible that we don't know about?

      > Proverbs 17:4 declares, An evildoer gives heed to false lips.

You mean like people who lie about science to further their own religious nonsense?

      > The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. (Psalm 14:2-3; 53:2-3).

By God's design. Logically, God created sin. It's silly to argue that the creator of everything is not the creator of something. God makes the mind of all men, makes some men to sin. They're by definition then holy are they not?

      > What man can live and not see death? (Psalm 89:48).

You throwing out random nonsense in the attempt to look like you have a clue?

      > This is because, all who behave unrighteously are an abomination to the Lord (Deuteronomy 25:16).

They're not. Because God designed them to be that way.

      > Amen.

Think about what I wrote. I know the bible says things, but that doesn't excuse my objections. God is responsible for sin if he created everything and knew it would occur.

Bob, I have always said that the sciences are proving the Bible to be true. I wait until theories are proven. The Bible states that the earth is millions upon millions of years old if you read about the foundation of the world. What some Christians talk about that the world is about 8,000 years old are referring to this earth age, the 2nd one we live in, not including the foundation of the world in their conversation. The first earth age (when the behemoths (Job 40:15-19) roamed, man calls them dinosaurs was destroyed by God due to Lucifer rebelling against God and taking 1/3 of God's angels with him on his rebellion spree. (see Matthew 13:28, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Revelation 2:9, Revelation 12:4, 2nd Peter 3:, Ezekiel 28:18-19, John 1:1-3).

I've posted scriptures that the sciences have proven factual. If you want me to post them again, let me know.

Final comment, God is perfect. He sent us a letter (the Bible aka blueprint) for us to learn how to be the best that we can be (spiritually minded) while housed in human form on this earth and our souls spiritually in the hereafter.

      Amen.

      > Bob, I have always said that the sciences are proving the Bible to be true. I wait until theories are proven.

I don't care what your opinion is, because clearly you're scientifically illiterate. You don't know what a scientific theory is.

      > The Bible states that the earth is millions upon millions of years old if you read about the foundation of the world. What some Christians talk about that the world is about 8,000 years old are referring to this earth age, the 2nd one we live in, not including the foundation of the world in their conversation.

Liberal interpretation there. Regardless, science has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that man has existed longer then what the bible says. Furthermore, it has proven, yes, proven, that we share a common ancestor with the great apes.

Behemoth can also mean giants. It simply means big. You're taking a general statement in your book and applying it to the world. If they had said "Giant lizards" or "scaly giants" however...

      > I've posted scriptures that the sciences have proven factual. If you want me to post them again, let me know.

You've posted scri-ptures that are va-gue and general. You have also omitted scriptures that are inconsistent with science. For example... the bible speaks of insects having four legs. Which we know isn't the case. The bible also claims the earth was created before the sun, even though we know how planets form due to the gravity provided by the star.

      > Final comment, God is perfect. He sent us a letter (the Bible aka blueprint) for us to learn how to be the best that we can be (spiritually minded) while housed in human form on this earth and our souls spiritually in the hereafter.

God is perfect. Fine. That means without error. So when he created Adam and Eve and the Serpent, God must have intended to have sin occur. Because if God didn't, he'd have made a mistake (God dislikes sin).

Your argument places the creation of sin on God. Didn't think that one through now did you?

It's fun picking apart your arguments!

Your argument places the creation of sin on God. Didn't think that one through now did you?
