Teen creator of 'Note to God' app in coma
Friends of a California student who created the Note to God iPhone app are asking others to pray for him. KXTV reports.
The family of the Del Campo High School senior calls it a miracle that he was even found after being hit by a vehicle walking home early Sunday morning.
"We ask everyone for prayers, because Allen really needs them right now," Wright's God-aunt, Debbie Lee, said. "To see him lying in a hospital bed, with a respirator, in a coma, it's just wrong."
Josh Hart, who is the brother-in-law of 18-year-old Allen Wright, said the teen had left a friend's house a little after midnight to walk home. His cousin was to meet him halfway.Read the full story from KXTV

Christians are always busily condeming the Boxing Day Tsunami and Christchurch earthquakes etc on gays, aethiests and muslims ad nauseam – so what's this guy done to deserve this hmmmm?
All these people on here, that are Anti-God, should create a page, that you can banter back and forth your ideals to each other, this kid does believe in God, and you being on here in the first place is trying to convert him, and other readers, that do believe in God, and take them aside from the beliefs, BELIEVE however you want to, but create another blog. I say how dare you even be on here, saying that, **yeah yeah**, FREEDOM of speech, sure go somewhere where it wants to be heard, and that certainly is not on this post asking for prayer for this kid and his family and for his friends, GET REAL and that my friends IS what I call HATE
One of the dumbest statements ever, is "god works in mysterious ways". To this unfortunate person in a coma, perhaps there
is no god, and his situation surely proves that fact. Just like the "prosperity gospel": god wants you to be rich, while god does
nothing about the thousands of innocent children who die everyday of starvation. Just nonsense. Your invisible friends are
just that: imaginary. You can be a good person without religious junk. Consider that you have been had. Then grow up.
Truth be told–GOD does not like technology. Remember even in Eden we had to til soil and work the land. So, if God were to come back tomorrow....what do you think he would do?.....make another Eden, of course. So those that still know the old ways to farm and sew and build structure with virgin materials will do VERY well when he returns--THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH.
Why would an athiest care about my religious views...
Why should any athiest care what my religious beliefs are...
As an atheist, it's hard to not point out the irony that people are asking for prayers for someone who is well known for helping others to pray. But I seriously hope he recovers and we should all be thanking the person(s) who found the kid and the medical staff for helping him. I hope all of you remember the true heroes who save people's lives every day. Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics. Let's stop saying "it's a miracle" and instead recognize medicine.
Why is there so much judgment in this discussion? Who are you to judge? Telling someone they are crazy for what they do or don't believe in ...each side seems to be exemplifying the characteristics they despise in the others beliefs. If I were considering the beliefs of Dan, Judy, and Jane- I see no difference in your behavior than that of a hypocrite. My previous interactions with atheists have been pleasant. I've not felt judged for not agreeing nor have I judged them. I will say I admire your commitment to this debate and how passionate you are in your beliefs (or lack of? Seriously not meaning to offend)- though you have no problem telling someone they are wrong for what they believe in.
What strikes me now is why are you on this article debating the validity of prayer? Worry about your own actions and life. That isn't your time they are "wasting." Prayer isn't a magic answer out of an 8 ball- it is meant to be for communication because you are in a personal relationship with God. An answer to a prayer can be "no." Call me crazy, ignorant, etc.- but your insults don't change my beliefs just as my statements won't change your mind. Does that also make you stubborn or ignorant? Urging someone to commit suicide or calling someone psychotic seems to have anger behind it. Blame it on me vilifying your beliefs but I have no intention of doing that. Especially since I've stated that my atheist friends are pleasant and nonjudgmental.
You write "sheep"" as if it were derogatory. Interesting, as Jesus is likened to a shepherd. Stating the obvious as a means to insult? I had hoped for more creativity. Excuse me, I mentioned a noun meaning the ability to create. Again, not intended to offend.
I'm trying to respond but it keeps telling me MY COMMENT IS AWAITING MODERATION...and it won't get reviewed...I know it. What is the list of words that can set off that flag?
IF multiple religions are equally valid, then a particular god's existence is as relevant as atheism/agnosticism.
"To see him lying in a hospital bed, with a respirator, in a coma, it's just wrong."
Perhaps your god wanted it to be a lesson for your nephew! Ever thought of that?
of course, unless your god is not omniscient or omnipotent - I.e. incompetent!
Dan,the earth, universe, and creation testify to a divine creator. Do not be so closed minded. I assure you if you open your heart to knowing if there is a God, He will show himself to you. Not in the sense of an image or a sign but a feeling that is just that, beyound a feeling. We might say we are good people and we follow the laws and do right in society but in all reality...I myself am just like you. I am a good person. But who am i comparing myself to? We are all human and just like a son or daughter we need someone to look up to. A perfect God. How hard is it to believe in hope that we were wonderfully created? It takes more faith to believe in the absence of God and say that we just happened then to look up and see the stars and birds and ignore everything we see and say "it just happened" There will be a day when we will all need help, a day when no one on this earth will be able to come through for us. I hope that everyone takes a minute and says a prayer, just opens there heart and mind and lets God speak to them. I assure you He will. And you will know when He does. With that being said...this post I do believe was for encouraging words and positive thoughts for this young man Allen. Not a debate on who is right and wrong. I will say a prayer for Allen and his family. "This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life." Psalm 119:50..
How is this young man faring with his recovery? Any updates on his condition?
Dan I belive u need to chill. I dont judge anyone and i could care less what u belive in but u shouldnt display so much anger. And yes i belive in God and Jesus and everything he stands for. But im just saying u and everyone else shouldnt b so angry and stuff. U dont lik it keep it moving, It dont take all that other stuff.
Why is it that everybody who doesn't like what I say claims I'm angry? I'm a regular person. I'm not "fillied with anger" or some dumb crap that religious people would like to paint athiests as. Duh. I have a great family...wife...kids..... and I'm very loving. I'm a good friend and good coworker. I follow the law. I don't cheat on my wife. I do everything you supposedly say I need to have "god" to do....However I don't need to have a secret security camera in the sky to watch my actions...I don't live in fear of retribution from an imaginary sky being. I just live a good life and treat people the way I want to be treated. So stop judging me. Again, I strongly feel as Christopher Hitchens does...that religion poisons everything.
Dan... Maybe everybody thinks you are angry... because the language you use and how you act exactly the way you think everybody is acting against you. I believe in reason and facts... Jimmy bless you...
Diego....my language is fine. I'm not screaming at people or claiming anything ridiculous. I'm just stating my opinions. The "anger" thing is bogus. Any religious person who argues religion with an athiest almost always tries to paint them as something "bad" or "negative" to try and show how religion makes you such a great person. But I can think of many, many people who are "religious" who are NOT good people. So I don't want to hear that argument.
And...I never said everybody's acting against me. But so many people believe in religion in this country that it's inescapable...It's extremely irritating, so here I am talking about my views. You said you believe in reason and facts? Are you athiest or what? I'm confused.
Maybe his "accident" is devine retribution for using an Iphone.
Use andriod people!
I will pray for this young man.
It is sad to see that a story where young people are asking for prayers brings so much hate from some individuals. Did you ever notice how angry people are who claim to be atheists? Why does it anger you if some people believe in God? Could the absence of a belief in God be the reason for your anger? I am a Christian, but it doesn't bother me if you believe in another religion or non at all. I don't get it? Please direct your anger somewhere else instead of criticize us.
Must be something about the spread of ignorance masquerading as a belief and a reliance upon a fabricated and fictional deity...
Don't project anger onto us just because we don't believe the same fairy tales you do. No, NOT believing in your imaginary friend in the sky is NOT a source for anger. You and your religious nutjob friends' tactics are all the same.
The only frustration I have is with people taking THEIR imaginary sky friend and ramming it down my throat everywhere I go. If I spoke to my imaginary pal JIMMY next to me all day, people would think I was mentally ill. Call him "god" and everybody thinks it's just fine! You've got problems pal.
Dan, how can you say that people are ramming their fairy God in to your throat when your the one reading these articles, posting on these articles and you have people like your friend "praise the lard" basing his or her username on mocking a believe system. You base your whole life on disagreeing, on being anti something instead of something. Your children will most likely be the same and that my friends is how you creat a breed, if you will, of cynical pessimistic creatures who think the world is out to get them. I hope that you one day allow my imaginary friend to become your as well. Maybe then you can see the world with love and not bitterness and hate! GOD BLESS YOU
Pedro – I referred to those "religious nutjob tactics"....and you just demonstrated them. You single me out and other athiests that don't "belong to your club"....when in fact I'm not interested and NEVER will be. I am not pessimistic. You fail to understand the difference between blind faith in something unprovable and believing in reality. I believe in LOTS. REALITY!! The story of "god" is so full of holes it's ridiculous. And my not believing in it doesn't make me pessimistic and you know it.
Christopher Hitchens said it best when he said RELIGION POISONS EVERYTHING. You, Pedro, are a great example of that. Villifying me and projecting other things onto me because I don't believe in your imaginary and (most importantly) eternally UNPROVABLE sky friend. You will never be able to prove the existence of your "god" and you know it. And just because I can't disprove it doesn't make it any more true.
As you wished "god" on me, I wish you would open your eyes to reality and trust in YOURSELF and YOUR abilties. Hard work, dedication, passion, love. Those things are real. You can work on those. And maybe....acceptance.
eastie sailor, God loves them more that they will ever know so pray for them because they really don’t know. Remember this, if you live like Christ teaches and he doesn’t exist what you have lost for being a good person. However, if he is real the answer is sure! No Christ No peace, know Christ know peace!
Also, Pedro....I love how you say I base my whole life on disagreeing? What does that mean? You are one closed minded guy. If you're saying I don't agree with your (or any) religion, yes. But that means I have my own thoughts about the universe. I'm not following the words written in several thousand year old books by men who wanted to control others and use fear to do it. And they had no clue about the earth or why things happened.
Also your talk of creating a "pessimistic breed that thinks the whole world is out to get them" is flat out freaky. You are a nutjob in every sense of the world. Nobody's saying the whole world is out to get them. I don't know where you got that one from. And how is not believing in your sky friend....pessimistic?? It is not. It's simply my view. It just happens to be anti-your view. And trust me, I don't choose my view because I'm anti-anything. I choose my view because I believe it...It just happens to be anti-established relgion. Again, I'm not an athiest just to be "anti-god"....and the fact you're saying that I am just makes you seem all the more pathetic. I really feel bad for you.
Who gives a fakk what you or I believe in. The thing you don't seem to get is, religious subjugation has no bounds.
"In god we trust; so help me god" dung; and then Mit Romney (from MA) got 90% of the Utah primary votes in 2008. You know statistics? This leaves little doubt that religions are the subjugation of (self AND) others. Subjugation is something non-believers can do without.
Folks like you that begs the practice of peeeeing on religious materials left in hotels!
There is nothing wrong with a belief in a god or gods. That's not the problem, the problem is the religions and dogma that people have built up around this belief. The problem is people saying that they not only believe in god, but that they know what he wants and what he wants us to want and do. People can use this unfounded belief to justify anything.
Christianity — The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
