Leader of doomsday movement prepares for rapture

By Jay Kernis, CNN

From CNN's In the Arena blog: Answering today’s OFF-SET questions is Harold Camping, 89, President of Family Stations, Inc.

Camping received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1942. In 1958, after managing a construction business, Camping, along with two others, formed the non-profit ministry of Family Stations, Inc., a Christian educational network. In 1961, Family Radio began the Open Forum program, a live weeknight call-in program hosted by Camping, and broadcast on the more than 140 stations owned by Family Radio in the U.S., and heard worldwide via shortwave and a network of AM/FM stations.

Based on your study of the Bible, you have determined that May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day–that God will completely destroy the Earth. What do you predict will happen as clocks turn to 6 pm?

We cannot say emphatically that it’s 6 pm. There’s a lot of information that looks at the probability of 6 pm in any city in the world–when that great earthquake will occur. It could be that it might be just one great earthquake, but there is enough evidence in the Bible that says it will begin at one point in the world, and it could be at 6 pm—that’s a great possibility. Then as it gets to be May 21 in any other country—there will be a great earthquake there.

WHY! Why do they give these lunatics ANY credence at all? This is NOT news, it doesn't even concern more than a few crazies and their particular sect. Is it comedy? I'm laughing at my dentist appoinment on Monday!

This is a very special message from the one known as the Comforter in The End Times (John 14:16 and 14:26) to Harold Camping of Family Radio posted at http://merkaba.org/recent/052011.html

Harold Camping, Today is May 20, 2011

“The Comforter” would like to thank Harold Camping and his group for making people aware of the fact that the Rapture Energies are coming and soon there will be the Physical Body Ascensions of those who are ready.

You are special people who stood up for God during the End Times. Thus, you still have time to get ready for a Physical Body Ascension and learn how to consciously work with the sun’s Rapture Energies so you are prepared to Ascend at anytime, from anywhere.

We can teach you how to use Rapture Energies so you can be part of those who leave for the City of Gold in the prophesized Archangelic level Physical Body Ascension Process that will occur before December 21, 2012.

These 3 steps enable one to begin training at home with Rapture Energies and to partake each week in our Sabbath’s guided visits to the City of Gold.

    · Step One: Free Techniques *
    · Step Two: A Two Day Meditator Class
    · Step three: A Two Day Activator Class

    * Daily usage of our free techniques and a liberal’s lifestyle of properly helping others in need, will enable one to become ready for an Angelic level Ascension on Judgment Day, December 21, 2012.

Email Classes @ Merkaba.org for a calendar of our family’s Classes in your area of the world.

  3. Judgment Day

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Matthew 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Daniel 12: 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
    Jesus is God Almighty
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
So the Son in this verse will have to be..
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12
    No Man Knows?
Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man….As Natural Man or Women we cannot Know the Things of God. Only by the Spirit Can we Know the things of God.
1 Corinthians 2: 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1 Cor 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Furthermore Jesus tells us to Watch
Matt24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 2Thessalonians 2:10-12
Mark4:9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Go to the Scriptures and Seek Truth Now is still the day of Salvation!!

This so-called peacher is a total idiot and needs to learn how to read the Bible. The rapture will happen(who knows when) but the world doesn't end 6 months later like this jerk says....The rapture starts the 7 year countdown(revelation),(Daniel), Hebrews) and othe books in the bible. Another note on him.........Any of you fools out there that gave him money should ask for a refund or write it off to your stupidity...

HAROLD CAMPING – "YOU ARE WRONG" In the process you have done an injustice to true Christianity. Not that it hurt us but you've made it difficult to get people to believe the truth. The end will come and we're indeed in that time BUT MAY 21, 2011 IS NOT IT. To all – note the following Scriptures which are true.

Matt 24:3 – 14 (KJV) the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

It seems as if another group has entered the billboard wars in Camping's/Family Radio's back yard of Oakland, CA. They are disputing Camping's claims with a compelling message of "Jesus is already here." Here's a short video about their billboard:

These are very confused people, Jesus himself said to his followers NO ONE KNOWS THE HOUR IN WHICH I WILL RETURN, also Read The book of 2 Thessolonians, The anti Christ come first, and Jesus is not coming here to judge us , he is coming here to make everything ready for GOD to come here ,with the City of New Jerusalem,Jesus is here for 1 thousand years before GOD arrives to judge us ,it`s called the lords day , In 2 peter, we are told this ,"8. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."This is how much time Jesus is given to make the way for JUDGEMENT Day again it is not Jesus`s job to judge , he is our teacher and our advocate before GOD,only GOD himself can judge us.

The idea the this guy claims to knows the exact hour proves he doesn`t even know what the bible says ,i truely pity his followers.

Thank you Jeanie, I've been waiting for someone to say that. Unfortunately, this is what most of those who pretend to be religious have turned their so-called churches into – hate machines for the Devil. Christ's (and the OT Prophet's) warnings were meant as just that warnings and wake up calls for the Lost, not a tool of hate and greed to use by ALL the televangelists to steal everyone's money and scare people so they can live rich and happy.

I'm thankful I belong to a small old-fashioned Church that cares about people's souls and real Salvation, not money. I really do wish everyone, even the haters here (on both sides) could hear the true gospel preached as the Good Lord intended when he left us after He ascended.

Yea especially since Jesus himself said in Mathew 24: 36. But of that day and hour knoweth NO MAN, no, not the angels of heaven, BUT MY FATHER ONLY.

You can`t get any clearer than that.
I guess Herold is calling Jesus a liar here.

      Mathew 24 : 11. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many./ i.e. {HAROLD CAMPING}

      This describes Herold to "T"

Mathew 24 : 21. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
      22. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

verse 22 Talks about the elect ,these are the christians here during the tribulation , if Jesus raptured all christians away , who are the elect?

      23. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Verse 23 says it all, the anti christ comes first, NOT JESUS COME TO RAPTURE YOU AWAY.

One more thing ,the word rapture does not even appear in the bible , How can something so important not be spoken of .

The rapture doctrine was started in the mid 1800 by 2 priests administering to a sick child named McDonald as i recall , ( a young girl) while in a state of fevor she spoke of the coming rapture and the 2 priests ran with it .

So remember the Anti Christ comes first .....Mathew 24 :15. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

      15. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
The abomination of desolation ,desolator is one of the many names given to lucifer .

Jesus is talking here about the anti-christ who will stand in the temple in Jerusalem and proclaim himself GOD.

@ Rico – QUOTE – verse 22 Talks about the elect ,these are the christians here during the tribulation , if Jesus raptured all christians away , who are the elect?

The elect are the Church of the Living God – THE WHOLE CHURCH. And as it says, he will return and take ALL of us during the Rapture, first those in the grave, then those of us alive. Then the world will be left to the Devil for a season without hope, or faith. Forget what the "Left Behind" series says, there will be no hope for ANYONE left behind.

      @ the R,
Illad by homer only has 643 pieces of extant manuscript, the Bible has over 24,000+. as far as literary integrity and historicity, the Bible is unmatched. You should reconsider it's content and revise your position, you may discover it's author.

Reread the book of revelation, it doesn't coincide with your conclusions.

I have to add December 24, 2012 to by busy schedule of end-of-the-worlds? Thats only three days after the Mayan end-of-the-world.

It really would be simpler if all the religious people just all go out, buy guns, and rapture themselves all at once.

It's probably best to have your party on the night of the 20th of December 2012, if you are going by the end of the Mayan calendar. On the other hand, you could always do a rehearsal this Friday night so that your real party will go off without a hitch in 2012...

  17. Fidei Coticula Crux

The Spirit of Truth vs. the Spirit of Error.

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

John speaks of the SPIRITS of teachers in a way similar to what Paul says about the spirits of the prophets in 1 Cor. 14:32. John is not referring here to demon possession, but to teachers who promote error. Believers have the Holy Spirit (3:24); but FALSE PROPHETS obey evil spirits. A true prophet is one who receives direct revelation from God. A false prophet claims to have received direct revelation from God but in fact promotes erroneous ideas. So let us review what Jesus and Paul taught about the end times to see if this so called prophet is a false teacher.

For 2,000 years people have wondered about the events of the end times and when Jesus will return. Terms such as millennium, tribulation, 666, and antichrist are used in the media and the supermarket tabloids, but questions remain:

    – Will Jesus return physically and reign on earth for 1,000 years?
    – Will Christians go through a seven-year tribulation?
    – Will the second coming of Christ occur at the same time that believers meet Christ in the air (the rapture)?
    – Will Christians be raptured (removed from this earth) and other people “left behind”?
    – What does the nation of Israel have to do with the end times?

There are four different views of end-times events, but all share some key points:

    – Jesus will come again for those who love him.
    – Jesus calls his followers to be ready all the time.
    – No one knows the day or the hour. Jesus said, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36)

Jesus promised his disciples that he would come again. Before his return there would be:

“Birth Pains” (Events before the “signs” of the end)

    – Many will claim to be the Messiah.
    – People will be deceived by these messiahs.
    – Wars, famine, earthquakes, pestilence.
    – Believers in Christ persecuted and killed.
    – Believers will be witnesses of Jesus to kings.
    – Many will turn away from the faith.
    – Betrayals by parents, brothers, and friends.
    – Increase in wickedness. “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:12-13)
    – Fearful events and signs from heaven.

    The Signs of the End

    – Jerusalem surrounded by armies.
    – The “abomination of desolation.”
    – Great tribulation like never before.
    – Jerusalem will be trampled on by Gentiles.
    – False prophets perform signs, miracles.
    – Sun darkens, moon doesn’t shine, stars fall.
    – Severe ocean activity disturbs the nations.
    – People will faint with terror.
    – Jesus will appear in the sky.
    – The trumpet will sound.
    – Angels will gather God’s elect.

    (Matthew 24-25; Mark 13; Luke 21)

    1. The Lord will descend.
    2. The dead in Christ will rise first.
    3. The living will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord and be with him forever.
    4. Don’t believe those who say the Day of the Lord has already come.
    5. The Day of the Lord will be preceded by:
    5.1. Rebellion
5.2. The revelation of the man of lawlessness who will:
5.2.1. Oppose and exalt himself over God
5.2.2. Set himself up in God’s temple
    5.2.3. Proclaim to be God
5.2.4. Be revealed when the one holding him back is taken out of the way
5.2.5. Be accompanied by satanic, counterfeit miracles
5.2.6. Deceive those who do not love the truth
    6. When Jesus comes, the man of lawlessness will be overthrown and destroyed.

    (1 Thessalonians 4:17; 2 Thessalonians 2)

So is this the spirit of truth or the spirit of error? I'll leave it up to you to decide.

      Reading outside the "bible box":

Paul's "profitcy" never came true as he predicted JC's return in Paul' life time. Then we have this summary:

Jesus was a bit "touched". After all he thought he spoke to Satan, thought he changed water into wine, thought he raised Lazarus from the dead etc. In today's world, said Jesus would be declared legally insane.

Or did P, M, M, L and J simply make him into a first century magic-man of the apocalypse via their epistles and gospels of semi-fiction? Most contemporary NT experts after thorough analyses of all the scriptures go with the latter magic-man conclusion with J's gospels being mostly fiction.

Obviously, today's followers of Paul et al's "magic-man" are also a bit on the odd side believing in all the Christian mumbo jumbo about bodies resurrecting, and exorcisms, and miracles, and "magic-man atonement, and infallible, old, European, white men, and 24/7 body/blood sacrifices followed by consumption of said sacrifices and an "apocalypting" god.

We should want to know about big news (like judgment day!) to prepare for it, IF there is a reliable source reporting the news. If Harold Camping and his followers actually stuck to what Jesus said and didn't add their own ideas based on logic and concepts the Bible never gives, they'd be doing well. Jesus himself IS the Truth, the One that we can rely on. Though he didn't give a day and time (and said no man knows in Mark 13:32) he DID say he's coming back and we should be ready at all times because his coming will be at a time people think he's not coming back (Matthew 24:42-44). He said we must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:3,5) and that we must turn from our evil deeds to come to him (the light) and no longer be condemned (John 3:16-20). He also said to fear God who is able to destroy body and soul in hell (12:4-5) and that we must repent or perish there (Luke 12:58-59, 13:1-5). He said too that he is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). We can come to the gospels to see what is certain, rather than listening to the foolish speculation of Harold Camping. May we seek Jesus for mercy and bow to his righteous reign now while we still have the chance.

"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:8-11)

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:6-7)
