Mark Burnett to turn the Bible into a seriesOh Lord, the Bible is being turned into a miniseries. According to the Hollywood Reporter, reality TV producer Mark Burnett will be helming the series, which will be a "five-part, 10-hour scripted docu-drama with live-action and state-of-the-art CG" to air on the History Channel. "This is probably the most important book in mankind, regardless of your beliefs or religious affiliation," History president and general manager Nancy Dubuc told THR. I can't wait for the special effects needed to shoot the Genesis story: Genesis 1:11-12 and 1:26-27 Trees came before Adam.
Genesis 2:4-9 Trees came after Adam.
Genesis 1:20-21 and 26-27 Birds were created before Adam.
Genesis 2:7 and 2:19 Birds were created after Adam.
Genesis 1:24-27 Animals were created before Adam.
Genesis 2:7 and 2:19 Animals were created after Adam.
Genesis 1:26-27 Adam and Eve were created at the same time.
Genesis 2:7 and 2:21-22 Adam was created first, woman sometime later.
I recommend the "scooby-doo" wave from top to bottom for each of the contradicting truths.

There is accurate history in the Bible, so being on the History channel makes sense. The problem comes from people using the historically true stories as proof that *everything* in the Bible must be true, which is absurd.
@KC, suicide bombers have similar belief. This is not proof that heaven awaits them.
The involved with the Heavens Gate fiasco had similar beliefs, but I don't think they're currently riding on any comment.
Believing something to be true is not proof that it is true.

Well, I've heard of people's supposed accounts of going there in near death experiences; however, I'm not taking stock in take because there could be other possible explanations for the "bright lights" they see at death...
Proof will come after death, I guess???

Maybe the proof of heaven comes from the peace that I have when I think of death??? For example, I invite death to come because I'm excited to be in heaven.

@Doc Vestibule, I can't post on page 2. Here is my reply. I never stated non-christian societies deserve to be wiped out; it's your imagination and you atheists are the ones wanting to wipe out the religious people for no reason. You never try to interpret or remember correctly. No wonder you are so warped in talking about the Bible. Certain Canaanites in Joshua's time deserved annihilation as their wickedness was full, irreversable and incurable like Sodom and Gomorrah and Noah's time, but it was the few exception. Israelites always offered surrender first if there should be wars. Humane nations modeled Israel.
Adelina.. atheists do not want to wipe anyone out, that's one of your fantasies that assist you maintain your faith. Actually, Jesus was a bit "touched in the head". After all he thought he spoke to Satan, thought he changed water into wine, thought he raised Lazarus from the dead etc. In today's world, said Jesus would be declared legally insane.
Or did P, M, M, L and J simply make him into a first century magic-man via their epistles and gospels of semi-fiction? Most contemporary NT experts after thorough analyses of all the scriptures go with the latter magic-man conclusion with J's gospels being mostly fiction.

Adelina.. insults do not equate to proof of god, at least the god that most of the folks here believe in. I think most people on here feel sorry that you have such jaded view of humanity, I can only hope that your condition improves as age works it magic. They are probably afraid of the Bible because they have already made up their minds about being atheists and do not want to change. (Change is painful and uncertain). You don't see any of them quoting Shakespeare or Frost or Michner either (they fear anything that challenges them). The castigate the Bible and yet it's pretty clear that have not read any of it. Well it is 66 books and it takes some effort (and focus) just to read it through. BUT THEN (even if you are a believer) there are questions and issues and conflicts. So it may take years to reconcile some parts of it .. to "get it." Oh they do not like that kind of uncertainty. They would never like to THINK about it .. re-read .. ask questions (get answers to questions). So it is easier to take pot shots at what they think is said in a book they do not read and cannot understand.

The U.S. Consti-tution in 1787 never mentions God and then mention of religion is in article 6; "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States".

@David Johnson: Biblical miracles happen today. Anything recorded in the Bible is more scientific and more believable than your dogmatic claim that creation creates itself. You atheists are so spiritual about the origin of the world you should not have any trouble believing in miracles written in the Bible.
That's right .. miracles are happening all around us .. every baby born and breathing it's first minute of air .. and sure humans are involved in miracles (babies, transplants, chemo, hip and knee replacements) Waking up is a miracle if anyone thought about it. Another gift - one more day. Friends are miracles (people who care about you just because they do). God's splendor is a miracle (dolphins, pelicans, eagles, .. ants). It's all pretty remarkable and impossible according to "odds" and yet - there it is. Miracles are more powerful than atom bombs (which merely destroy on a large scale), Miracles rebuild communities, educate children, relieve pain and suffering, happen because somebody cares enough (was moved); miracles are happening all around us. (but we need to SEE it)

This line was stated to have been used by Einstein in an exchange with a professor but there is no evidence that this ever took place. It’ is rumored that someone added his name to it and it started circulating in 2004. If you read Einstein’s autobiography, he states his religious atti-tudes ended when he was 12. He was skeptical but I don’t believe he would clas-sify himself and atheist since he has referred to a god but not the biblical one.

I have peace of death because I know my energy and essence of who I am will return to earth to come back as something else.

The point is KC religion doesn't hold the key for not being afraid of death and having peace in your life.. You can have peace in and not fear what comes next. It's because you fear there is nothing more you choose to believe you will go to a "heaven" – I don't have those insecurities like you.
