What's going on at the Bachmann clinic?

By Jim Acosta and Erika Dimmler, CNN

Lake Elmo, MN (CNN)-In her campaign for president, Michele Bachmann touts her background as a small business owner.

"A small business job creator," is how the Minnesota Congresswoman and Republican Presidential candidate described herself in her first campaign ad in Iowa.

That business is Bachmann and Associates. It's a Christian counseling service located outside Minneapolis. Bachmann started the center with her husband, Marcus who is the lead counselor at the clinic. The aspiring First couple and their children are pictured on the center's web site.

For at least five years, Bachmann and Associates has faced accusations it uses a controversial therapy that encourages gay and lesbian patients to change their sexual orientation.

Andrew Ramirez, a former patient at Bachmann and Associates, said in an interview with CNN he witnessed the practice first-hand. In 2004, Ramirez turned to the clinic at the urging of his mother who wanted him to talk about his homosexuality.

All this talk about The Bachmann company receiving government assistance is nuts too! Why in the world are they getting any assistance at all when they are rich? Why can they not spend and use their own money from their own bank accounts. How can the government give any business assistance when they are successful at all. If any one person like the rest of us try to get government assistance they look into our accounts and say no way you have money or your parents have money. So why was this Bachmann group business given any money when the owners have their own money to spend. Its just not right at all and this company should be forced to pay this money back to the government immediately in a full one lump payment.

Secular Americans always knew the coming judgment of God but keep bashing those who try to do good and do what is right. Their favorite blasphemous comedy shows must have really gotten their brains. Why do these mortals keep mocking when they won't get away from the due consequences of sins?

LOL at the "hidden camera." They didn't find ANYTHING with that stunt. I love how when they videotape Planned Parenthood, they find all sorts of felonies occuring- lies, cheating, stealing, giving underage illegal aliens abortions, slavery....

and then they film Bachmann and get-- -NOTHING!

Can you cite your source for the curious amongst us?

      Bravo Jane,

Apparently, "Doc Vestibule" and "The Die Hard" have something in common with a large number of other liberals at CNN. They don't listen to, nor are they interested any facts that are truthful and relevant if these truths counter their moral agendas. Their moral and philosophical agendas have primary importance, no matter how false the facts they back. These liberals, like many others here, want to deride, insult, and rant in ignorance, but don't want to learn.

So, here are some of the ways to find those links at the YuTube site, just in case you well educated liberals don't know how to look stuff up. Search for "planned parenthood undercover" and you will see at least seven numbered videos from various Unplanned Parenthood sites around the country.

Remember, UnPlanned Parenthood is not dedicated to the defense of the helpless, the silent voice of equity for all, nor is it about planning or training for parenthood (that's primarily a guise and false pretense). They are not about planning for parenthood, but about avoiding and preventing parenthood through reactionary executions of the silent, innocent, and voiceless child without a lawful judgement or determination of fault ending in the termination of each life that is aborted.

What a perversion of justice and what an injustice. Really, every liberal who claims to support equal rights for every other life, except for the unborn, silent and immature life growing in the womb is a real hypocrite, not Bachman, not Jane above, and not every other conservative that believes a life is and has rights without respect of age or vocal ability.

@Jane, the Planned Parenthood and Acorn tapes were highly edited. Just like the video clip Andrew Brightbart posted of Shirley Sherrod. People with a right-leaning viewpoint have a tendency to fudge facts and obfuscate to make the facts fit their point. The video from the Bachmann clinic is very telling and very damning. Celibacy is a very rigorous and demanding lifestyle that should only be undertaken after serious consideration. It certainly isn’t the “cure” for anything. It’s barbaric to suggest such.

@Justin Lerner, it is clear that you have no understanding what Planned Parenthood does. Like many on the right, you’ve painted PP with a satanic brush and anything that does not fall in line with your prejudice is “wrong”. PP provides an array of services related to reproductive health. 83% of their services are aimed at preventing pregnancies and helping women better manage their reproductive autonomy. 16% of their services are for cancer screening and prevention, 35% are for STD testing and treatment (for both men and women), and 35% for contraception. 3% of the services they offer are for pregnancy termination, which is exactly that. Not the “reactionary executions of the silent, innocent, and voiceless child”. It’s a gestating fetus. The already grown woman who carries is has more rights. Therefore, it is her choice. When you use emotional rhetoric and hyperbole, it weakens your argument.

I think American Jesus would totally approve of the Bachmanns' clinic and its approach. Jesus had a lot to say about being the evil of being gay. Well, actually he never said anything about it, but he did have a lot to say about the power of prayer. James 5:16. Prayer is the most powerful force in the universe. A good prayer can start and stop rain. James 5:17-18. A good prayer can impregnate old women. Luke 1:5-13. A good prayer can cure cancer and win football games. It can raise money for churches. If it can do these things, it can certainly overcome a person's genetic makeup, or whatever it is that causes gays to choose to be gay.
And it could probably balance the federal budget, but apparently no one is praying hard enough for that yet.

We have been informing mankind how this whole world been deceived as confirmed in Revelation 12:9 for twenty six years but we have learned that mankind prefers darkness over light (John 3:19) as is evident by this article and comments by the different people. For a better understanding how we are able to bring back some sanity to this discussion, we invite you to read all the pages and articles of the website http://www.aworlddeceived.ca

  9. The Conservative Strategy (and other jokes)

To win the Republican primary, you must be an extremist. Any sign of being a moderate will destroy a candidate.

To win the presidential election, you must be a moderate or those crucial swing voters will never touch you.

Therefore, unless the economy goes into a massive depression, the Republican mindset dooms them to defeat.

This is America...the land of freedom. For anyone here to say that it is not ok to be gay is crazy. If its ok to pray away the gay then it must also be ok to pray away the black and pray away the Jew or Mexican or Muslim.. If anyone says that it is a choice to be gay they must also realize then that its a choice to be christian or choice to be Jewish or Muslim . Most important it is a choice to be hateful. Are these people saying that it is ok to hate....if so then they are guilty of hate crimes by not allowing All people to be who they are and believe in what they choose to. Who cares that this woman is a successful business woman as well...and we all know that 90% of successful business people got to where they are by stepping on others to get where they are. Why is this ok? why is it acceptable to step on or over the little guy to gain? Religion has no business at all in politics and a politicians personal beliefs should never be discussed and used to gain votes. The bible is a story book written by MEN (NOT WOMEN) to control the masses. Government has no business making statements about core family values either.... and should not be allowed to make , pass , or even deny laws that involve ones personal beliefs as long as they do not PHYSICALLY or financially harm others. Being gay or straight of your choice of religion does not Physically harm anyone or damage the world in any way at all...so why does the government have anything to do at all .with it? In that case successful business people who step on others to gain should be in trouble because their decisions DO hurt others....WHY IS THAT OK? Jack Smith can not marry Joe Brown which doesn't harm others but Michelle business woman can lay off workers to outsource jobs to gain financially which does hurt others. America is wrong in the way that we run our country in so so many ways. It is wrong for any society to delegate what is acceptable or not acceptable on any issue that does not PHYSICALLY or financially harm other people. THEY SAY MONEY... NOT BELIEFS IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL ...AND America SURE HAS THE LUST GREED FOR MONEY DON'T IT!

    July 13, 2011 at 2:59 pm |
    • I disagree

"a politicians personal beliefs should never be discussed and used to gain votes. "

I want to know their personal beliefs since that bias will play a role on what they vote for and policy's they will try to implement. If you put a bunch of bible thumpers in office this country will go down the toilet since they don't care about other peoples civil rights, ie gay rights and abortion, etc..

Yes i do see your point that we would want to know their beliefs on issues such as civil rights and so forth. I just feel that all politicians should be given a test if you will..asking them their opinions on different issues that pertain to civil rights and issues such as the ones discussed in this blog...And that their opinions or answers to these questions should and must be unbiased or they should not be allowed to hold or run for public office in the first place.

Actually I feel that our country should completely do away with politicians all together...and also elect presidents strictly by the popular vot only. with todays technology all voting issues should be done by the people who choose to vote and pay attention to whats going on in the country. Hell All voting can be done by touch tone telephone by anyone who has a valid social security number. Think of how much money could be saved if there were no politicians to pay!! Why not give the people a say in what goes on in every single issue. I know it sounds crazy but It would work!

    • Totally agree, ppl are crazy

I absolutely love your post!! I cant believe how selfish and narrow-minded people are... I never really paid attention to politics (Im 30 now). But my man grew up in a small-town family in Mississippi ,who were crazy Republicans, and once he started explaining things to me (how deranged these ppl are) I was just blown away! Also, Im taking a religious course in college and they all say to help the needy, etc but yet so many ppl are just so selfish and only pay attention to the parts that help them. I believe there are a lot of 'nice' people in this world but evidentally the nice don't have enough money... It just makes me sad that my son has to grow up in this hateful, greedy world..maybe things will change for the better by the time he starts to understand things. Keep on posting!!!!
