President Obama marks Ramadan

By Alexander Mooney, CNN

Washington (CNN)– President Obama Monday is marking the beginning of Ramadan, the month-long Muslim holiday of fasting and reflection.

In a statement issued by the White House, the president said, "Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam – that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us."

He also said he will be hosting an iftar dinner at the White House, an event he hosted last year as well.

You can read Obama's full statement on CNN's White House blog The 1600 Report

Fernace and Bobinator: Once again I ask, what countries have you visited on mission or humanitarian aid? Go ahead and go to one, if you love them so much. Go and reach out to them and see it for yourself. You don't have to have a Bible to feel their hatred. In fact in most muslim countries, you can't evangelize anyway, so you'll feel right at home.

You cannot compare decades of genocide to one idiot in Norway! You can't compare one idiot in Norway to God's commands to Moses! Those squatters we're in THEIR land. They went to take it back. Look it up! I guess you'd probably try to tell me that the holocaust never happened now too right?

Actually, according to the Bible, the Israelites didn't even exist as a people At the time the Canaanites took up residence on what you're calling "their land," and the one family from whom they descended were just nomads wandering in the land at that time. Then they *voluntarily* moved to Egypt. When their descendants rebelled against the forced labor in Egypt, they returne to the patch of land that had never been theirs in the first place an systematically slaughtered everyone they could get their hands on. Note that these "squatters" as you call them had never encountered the Israelites before, much less done anything bad to them. It was an invasion of naked conquest, supposedly ordered by their god. And it's stated outright that god supposedly allowed the native peoples to live in the land first so that they could do all the hard work of building cities and infrastructure and then get killed off so the Israelites could live off that infrastructure without having to build it themselves. Feel free to check.

Actually the land was Israel. Given to Abraham by God. What right did God have to give it to them, you ask. Well...He created all things and so it all belongs to Him anyway. Abraham and even his sons bought large parcels of the country from the residents that were there. Then the other descendants of Abraham that you read about: Canaanites, etc. dwelt in the land after Israel went to Egypt. These Canaanites were given 400+ years of GRACE to come back to the way of Abraham. They were being called back to serve the God of Abraham and even Canaan's ancestors (Noah) served God. These Canaanites, and all the other Ites, did not repent! It's the same thing that will happen in the future on this Earth when God will return for what is His. You can deny it all you want, you can make fun of it all you want, but it will happen. People make all kinds of comments about how narrow minded this is, but it's not really as narrow minded as a Big Bang Theory or Evolution Monkey Men. Believe what you want. Trust what you will. I know that the muslim people hide behind a label of peace and try to manipulate everything around them. You'll see it one day, hopefully it won't be too late. I'm not trying to convert anyone one here, that would probably be a useless venture. What I will do is quote Elijah, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” The answer is God is the only God! There is none beside Him.

As for them not wanting help or asking for it, etc. My response to that is...

They accepted to invitation, and when it got there...they wanted way more than what we could deliver. They never raised a finger to help themselves, and how much sanitation help can you give someone, who refuses to defecate and urinate where their supposed to but prefer to do it on the streets and in alleys. They are the blind leading the blind! You'll find this out one day, when after the world has given everything to them, and then they'll turn on you. At that time, whether you are a Christian, or if you are a Budhist, Hinduist, or anything other than islam ; they're going to put you into prisons and/or execute you. That's their way! They've been doing it for centuries. Their religion advocates it. They engrain it into the minds of their children before they are five years old. You may not believe what I am saying here, but look it up for yourself. Don't take my word for it. Nat'l Geographic and the History Chan have excerpts on it. Christians have been labeled as hate mongers and bigots for saying these things for years! You'll say the same things about me. The problem is, I'm right! You're afraid of what I am saying because in your mind you're asking yourself, "what if he's right". The world has exceeded the point of no return for what's happening. We've been too complacent and arrogant. It's like letting a bad kid run wild all its life. By the time that kid is grown, it becomes a criminal of the worst kind. That's what we are doing with islam! As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. As for all those who love this whole islamification, all I can say is God have mercy on you. You have a terrible future ahead for you.

And it was a radical Christian/Knight Templar that killed 76 Norwegians 10 days ago! Radicals & extremists excist in all nations, religions & creeds & colors! To make 1 out to be the only villainous religion/radicals is bogus! Their nations are often in uproar & chaos & the anti-western propaganda makes many belive we are the "infidel"! Some hyper fanatics act on it! We could say the same about the Israelis/Palestinians & Irish conflicts, etc! I'm glad the President is extending a friendly hand to these maligned people! Christians on this blog seem decidedly judgemental& unfriendly, always quick to point a finger, but rarely stating the obvious, we are all sinners, yet God still loves us all! We should try to atleast tolerate eachother!!

Extremism of ANY faith is the problem. When people think they have a mandate from Heaven to spread the word by any means necessary, that is when we have problems.

God do something about the oil executives and companies that raises the profits and hurt those that can't afford it.
God do something about all the orphan children in the world that the Christian community won't adopt by still fight abortion regardless of the consequences.
God doing something about the aliens in this country even though you support helping them but those that are lost are passing laws that do the opposite.
God help those in dept that are surround by greed.
God help those that are overweight full of gluttony because they don't love you enough to cherish their bodies as your temple, especially their children
God help those that think divorce is the easy way without following your word which says divorce is an abomination and adultery but yet they want the easy way out.
God help those that you entrusted with this earth but are too lazy to take care of it, they don't recycle, they don't pick up the trash on the roads and in their neighborhoods and throw their cigarette butts out of their car windows.

A little over a decade ago, I visited some of these so-called friendly muslim countries. We went to them to give medical aid, feed the hungry, give clean water and gifts. We never mentioned that we were Christians. We were spat on, harrassed, called all kinds of names, lied to, deceived and finally a good friend of mine was killed. We were just there for humanitarian reasons and nothing but violence came our way. So for those of you who DO NOT KNOW what you are talking about, please keep your peace.

I've never had a christian shoot at me, but I have had a muslim do it! We weren't brandishing Bibles, we were trying to "Do unto others" as Obama put it and honestly, I'd do again if I had to, but in each place we went, there was nothing but hostility towards us.

It was radical muslims that bombed embassies in the 70s, 80s &90s, hijacked airplanes since the 70s, kidnapped countless people for money, and not to mention 9/11. I've seen muslims first hand at their worst. These sympathizers may be blind to you, but I've seen you!

You smile at peaceful workers, while plotting to hurt and murder them. You have no regard for the safety of your own families not to mention others. You all say "Peace" so easily...you know nothing of peace!

Go ahead and moderate this too! You never put up anything I post anyway.

    No iftars needed:

    Saving Muslims is quite easy!!!

The Five Steps To Deprogram 1400 Years of Islamic Myths:

( –The Steps take less than two minutes to finish- simply amazing, two minutes to bring peace and rationality to over one billion lost souls- Priceless!!!)

    Are you ready?

Using "The 77 Branches of Islamic "faith" a collection compiled by Imam Bayhaqi as a starting point. In it, he explains the essential virtues that reflect true "faith" (iman) through related Qur’anic verses and Prophetic sayings." i.e. a nice summary of the Koran and Islamic beliefs.

The First Five of the 77 Branches:

    "1. Belief in Allah"

aka as God, Yahweh, Zeus, Jehovah, Mother Nature, etc. should be added to your cleansing neurons.

"2. To believe that everything other than Allah was non-existent. Thereafter, Allah Most High created these things and subsequently they came into existence."

Evolution and the Big Bang or the "Gi-b G-nab" (when the universe starts to recycle) are more plausible and the "akas" for Allah should be included if you continue to be a "crea-tionist".

"3. To believe in the existence of angels."

A major item for neuron cleansing. Angels/de-vils are the mythical creations of ancient civilizations, e.g. Hitt-ites, to explain/define natural events, contacts with their gods, big birds, sudden winds, protectors during the dark nights, etc. No "pretty/ug-ly wingy thingies" ever visited or talked to Mohammed, Jesus, Mary or Joseph or Joe Smith. Today we would classify angels as f–airies and "tin–ker be-lls". Modern de-vils are classified as the de-mons of the de-mented.

"4. To believe that all the heavenly books that were sent to the different prophets are true. However, apart from the Quran, all other books are not valid anymore."

Another major item to delete. There are no books written in the spirit state of Heaven (if there is one) just as there are no angels to write/publish/distribute them. The Koran, OT, NT etc. are simply books written by humans for humans.

Prophets were invented by ancient scribes typically to keep the un-educated masses in line. Today we call them for-tune tellers.

Prophecies are also invali-dated by the natural/God/Allah gifts of Free Will and Future.

"5. To believe that all the prophets are true. However, we are commanded to follow the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) alone."

Mohammed spent thirty days "fasting" (the Ramadan legend) in a hot cave before his first contact with Allah aka God etc. via a "pretty wingy thingy". Common sense demands a neuron deletion of #5. #5 is also the major source of Islamic vi-olence i.e. turning Mohammed's "fast, hunger-driven" hallu-cinations into horrible reality for unbelievers.
Walk these Five Steps and we guarantee a complete recovery from your Islamic ways!!!!

Unfortunately, there are not many Muslim commentators/readers on this blog so the "two-minute" cure is not getting to those who need it. If you have a Muslim friend, send him a copy and help save the world.

Analogous steps are available at your request for deprogramming the myths of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Paganism.

Saving HeavenSent, another victim of the Infamous Resurrection con:

From that famous passage: In 1 Corinthians 15 St. Paul reasoned, "If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith."

Even now Catholic/Christian professors of theology are questioning the bodily resurrection of the simple, preacher man aka Jesus.

      To wit;

From a major Catholic university's theology professor’s grad school white-board notes:

"Heaven is a Spirit state or spiritual reality of union with God in love, without earthly – earth bound distractions.
Jesus and Mary's bodies are therefore not in Heaven.

Most believe that it to mean that the personal spiritual self that survives death is in continuity with the self we were while living on earth as an embodied person.

Again, the physical Resurrection (meaning a resuscitated corpse returning to life), Ascension (of Jesus' crucified corpse), and Assumption (Mary's corpse) into heaven did not take place.

The Ascension symbolizes the end of Jesus' earthly ministry and the beginning of the Church.

Only Luke's Gospel records it. The Assumption ties Jesus' mission to Pentecost and missionary activity of Jesus' followers The Assumption has multiple layers of symbolism, some are related to Mary's special role as "Christ bearer" (theotokos). It does not seem fitting that Mary, the body of Jesus' Virgin-Mother (another biblically based symbol found in Luke 1) would be derived by worms upon her death. Mary's assumption also shows God's positive regard, not only for Christ's male body, but also for female bodies." "

"In three controversial Wednesday Audiences, Pope John Paul II pointed out that the essential characteristic of heaven, hell or purgatory is that they are states of being of a spirit (angel/demon) or human soul, rather than places, as commonly perceived and represented in human language. This language of place is, according to the Pope, inadequate to describe the realities involved, since it is tied to the temporal order in which this world and we exist. In this he is applying the philosophical categories used by the Church in her theology and saying what St. Thomas Aquinas said long before him."

The Vatican quickly embellished this story with a lot CYAP.

Of course, we all know that angels are really mythical "pretty wingie talking thingies".

With respect to rising from the dead, we also have this account:

An added note: As per R.B. Stewart in his introduction to the recent book, The Resurrection of Jesus, Crossan and Wright in Dialogue,

"Reimarus (1774-1778) posits that Jesus became sidetracked by embracing a political position, sought to force God's hand and that he died alone deserted by his disciples. What began as a call for repentance ended up as a misguided attempt to usher in the earthly political kingdom of God. After Jesus' failure and death, his disciples stole his body and declared his resurrection in order to maintain their financial security and ensure themselves some standing."

      p.168. by Ted Peters:

Even so, asking historical questions is our responsibility. Did Jesus really rise from the tomb? Is it necessary to have been raised from the tomb and to appear to his disciples in order to explain the rise of early church and the transcription of the bible? Crossan answers no, Wright answers, yes. "

So where are the bones"? As per Professor Crossan's analyses in his many books, the body of Jesus would have ended up in the mass graves of the crucified, eaten by wild dogs, covered with lime in a shallow grave, or under a pile of stones.

Obviously Obama tries to establish an reformed Islam. The sentence "that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us." is from the Bible. Obama tries to blend Islam and Christianity.

I am sure: Obama will fail.

Christianity and Islam cannot be united, because they are opposed: Muhammad made the Islam up in order to fight Jews and Christians. Muhammad hated Jews and Christians.

Furthermore Obama is not aware of the demonic power, which drives the Umma (Islamic community). Demons are stronger than human beings and even stronger than the president of the US.

I keep on condemning the Islam as a wicked heresy. Muhammad was worse than a heretic, he was a heresiarch.

I still love my Muslim neighbours and try to convert them to Christianity by telling them the gospel of our most honorable Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who will finally judge the leaving and the death.

May Aslan reign for ever and ever.

Why is your book any more valid than the Tanakh, Talmud, Midrash, Quran, Sunnah, Nahjul Balagha, Avesta, Vedas, Upanisahds, Bhagavad Gita, Puranas, Tantras, Sutras, Vachanas, Adi Granth, Purvas, Samayasara, Niyamasara, Pravacanasara, and Pancastikaya; Anupreksa; Samadhishataka of Pujyapada; Tattvarthasutra of Umasvati, Tattvarthasutra, Pali Tripitaka, Jataka,, Visuddimagga, Tripitaka, Lotus Sutra, Garland Sutra, Analects; the Great Learning; the Doctrine of the Mean; the Mencius, Tao Te Ching, Chuang-tzu, Kojiki, Nihon Shoki, K-oki, Ofudesaki, Mikagura-uta, Michi-no-Shiori, Johrei, Goseigen, Netarean Shower of Holy Doctrines, Chun Boo Kyung, Kitab-i-Iqan, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, Book of Mormon, Dianetics, or Revelation X?

@Doc V-, Qu'ran assures nothing for Muslims. Your list is a garbage; the reason there is not even single worthy sentence there. The Bible alone is the inerrant Word Of God proven both internally and externally and far superior above all literature in existence. The quality of content and the text speak for itself.

      The Bible is innerrant?
"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches."
      – Matthew 13:31–32

Mustard seeds are not the smallest of all seeds. This was known even 2000 years ago in the middle east.
Mustard plants are not mighty trees.
Birds do not nest in them.

Internally, the book contradicts itself in many places.
      For example:
Jesus alternatly says that He and God are one and the same, and yet he is less than God.
JOH 10:30 I and my Father are one.

JOH 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Sometimes, children suffer for the sins of their father, sometimes not.
ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

DEU 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

And if the Gospels are tryly eyewitness accounts, why do three different gospels give three different accounts fo Christ's last words?
MAT 27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

LUK 23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

JOH 19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

The quality of teh content does indeed speak for itself – inconsistent, not innerrant!

@Rainer Braendlein, you said, “The sentence ‘that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us.’ is from the Bible.”

Guess what? The Bible (Old Testament) is one of Islam’s holy books.

@Fact-telling, you said, “the Bible says Muslims are wrong and Christians are right.”
Really? Because Islam wasn’t even around when the Bible was being assembled, started by the Council of Nicea. It came along about 300 years later. And what the heck does the account of Mary washing Christ’s feet have to do with Muslims? And people of other faith’s think their holy texts are just an inerrant. Just because you want to be on the winning team doesn’t make you right.
