Jury in sect leader's trial hears tape of alleged rape of girl, 12

By Jim Kyle, In Session

San Angelo, Texas (CNN) - Court resumes Thursday in the sexual assault trial of Warren Jeffs, with the polygamous sect leader - who is representing himself - continuing his questioning of his first witness.

On Wednesday, Texas prosecutors rested their case after playing a key piece of evidence for jurors: an audiotape they allege documents Jeffs' sexual assault of a then-12-year-old girl in the presence of three other "wives."

One juror wiped her eyes as she listened to the recording. Another looked at Jeffs out of the corner of her eye. Still another had a hand covering her mouth.

Truth will stand, justice will prevail, and innocent victims will be healed and made strong forever. God is sovereign and the days of this world is numbered.

When God bodily transports each and every true Christian up to Heaven – those select who live their lives charitably, humbly and without passing judgement – I'm sure the world will miss both of them.

You two are stupid. You should read the Bible if you have time to post your garbages.

There is no such event called the RAPTURE in the Bible. The Rapture theory is man made. Not God's truth.

Jesus comes back to earth. Not that we physically (human body) meet Him in the air. What is meant by this passage is when Jesus returns we are all back in spiritual form.

Stop listening to folks making up scriptures.

      Amen.

@Fake HeavenSent: There is rapture; read I & II Corinthians, I & II Thessalonians and Revelation. Christians never make things up. It's called systematic theology from the Bible.

Hopefully he will end up jail for a long time and his cell mate will give him an idea of how that little girl felt when he violated her.

I am going to get a copy of this tape and email to everyone on Facebook, so they can hear Christianity at its finest.

Frankly, we should gas this dirt bag and put his followers in a looney bin for deprograming

William, Jeffs belongs in your category of BIG egos, spiritually stunted, refusing to go humble, hating Jesus because he wants to be God.

      Amen.

@William Demuth...These people are not Christians anymore than they are Jewish or followers of Islam. They are a break-off sect of the Mormon Chuch (also not Christian). I do, however, agree that the gas chamber would be a suitable punishment for this guy!

    • O Canada

Canada was created by Christians to spread the Christian religion to the entire world. Everything about Canada's finding says so just like USA's does. The West got nothing good or worth apart from Christianity. Present secular Westerners are creatures without functioning conscience.

Anti Christian TS, most folks are on the wide path by not going humble.

This is why faith needs to be examined. Jeffs may have been an evil man looking to abuse a situation or he could genuinely believe what he did was ok.

Just because it's written in your holy book doesn't mean it's true. It needs to stand up to critical examination.

Remember, the truth has nothing to fear from being investigated and questioned.

True. Some of it has to come down to belief, otherwise, it's not faith.

See, I don't have a problem with polygamy or per se, or anything else occuring in someone else's bedroom, as long as it's consentual between two adults.

Obviously, 12 year olds do not fall under the "consenting adults" category.

    • History

The Bible-less barbaric Westerners used to kill children for their pagan gods and Christians stopped all that. It's that way everwhere around the world. Without Christians, mankind lived as pure hopeless sa-va-ges. America is going back to barbarism as more population in USA opposes the Christian sanity. America will go down.
