Glenn Beck hosts pro-Israel rally in Jerusalem

American conservative star Glenn Beck hosted a pro-Israel rally with overt Christian overtones in Jerusalem on Wednesday, calling on people around the world to stand with the Jewish state at time when it is facing mounting criticism.

"In Israel, there is more courage in one small square mile than in whole of Europe," Beck said in a politically charged speech at the event. "In Israel, there is more courage in one soldier than in the cold heart of every bureaucrat at the U.N."

At a rally that drew heavily on support from Christian Zionists, Beck's speech was laced with biblical references and apocalyptic phrasing.

"The threats are mounting, and evil is growing; darkness is falling," he said. "Far too many politicians are just too willing to look away. They have turned day into night, good into evil; they have changed the very meaning of our words."

The rally was applauded by some conservative Israelis but was received with mixed emotions in much of the Jewish community.

How much courage do you need to carpet bomb civilians?

But it does take courage to hide among civilians and attack children as they sleep in their beds. Fool.

The israelis learned from the nazis how to treat people. Now they do the same to others that was done to them.

From reading this blog, it is clear that Beck has at least one thing right. There is plenty of anti-Semitism to go around and while the majority of people who posted here are not in that category, there are those who are and it is so blatant. Others simply hate the right so much that it does not matter what somebody like Beck says.

Hope all of you on the East Coast make out OK with Irene. Stay safe and try learning something while you are waiting forinside for Irene to pass. Try reading a book.

Why do conservatives support Israel a country founded by illegal immigrants?

    August 25, 2011 at 12:05 am |
    • Wyatt

Jews were in that land long before the birth of Christ. You are probably on this planet illegally.

Wyatt, do you actually believe that there are laws regulating the presence of extraterrestrial aliens on this planet?

And who was there b4 the them? Caananites. Who they wiped out. Everybody seems to forget that part. Anyways, they were gone for a damn long time b4 they started ethnically cleansing the area of non-jews.

Religious Right Conservative support "Israel" because the Jews must be in their "home land" (Isreal) in order for the Second Coming of Jesus to occur. However, once Jesus is back, all none believers (including the Jews who live in Israel) will be damned to hell. So, in essence, they love the Jews so they can finally be cast into hell. Gee, thanks a lot Glenn Beck!

Jews were there a long time ago. They left almost entirely after Islam conquered the area. They started coming back and immigrating illegally into Palestine, then under British control. If Israel is to be considered a legal nation, then we better give back to Mexico all of the Southwest. Or, if we have to go back to biblical times, lets just go back to Europe.

I propose a compromise. We keep Arizona, New Mexico and Southern California, but give Texas back to the Mexicans!!!

I don't so much blame his lack of morality to do things like this-after all he makes money doing this non sense. What is really surprising is that there are people that actually watch his program and take his garbage seriously. So sad.

You DO NOT need Glenn Beck to research and figure out what is going on in the world. He is a relay station for data. Try it out.. its not pretty when you learn the facts yourself.

Glenn Beck a relay station for data? That's an interesting way of putting it.

I MUST say I respect GLENN. HE has thousands of followers and he is making millions on their back.

The guy is a true genius when it comes to taking advantage of people's weakness and ignorance to make tons of money.

    KUDOS GLENN.

So anybody who listens to Beck or believes anything he says is weak and ignorant? What credentials do you have to judge millions of people? Perhaps it is you who is weak and ignorant as you follow the Pied Piper over the cliff.

Sorry dude, but if you TRULY believe Obama is a NAZI just like Beck says, then yes...you are weak and ignorant.

I guess there are idiots in Israel, too. Anyone who would stand there aan listen to this guy talk, has to be a little nuts.

Nah, Zionists aren't stupid, they are crafty! Beck thinks he's using them, but they are using him. AND us.

It would be interesting to know how many of Beck's detractors actually listened to what he said. The Mayor of Jerusalem listened. He was there and welcomed Beck. He MUST be a little nuts.

One Israeli is smarter than a million Glen Becks.

    August 24, 2011 at 11:44 pm |
    • wacko

Well there's like 8 million Israeli's and each of them must be smarter than Glenn Beck. Therefore, one Israel is at least as smart as 8 million Glenn Becks, I would assume many times more. Who the hell listens to that wacko? Why do people like that get followers anyway? I'd rather listen to Alex Jones.
