Glenn Beck hosts pro-Israel rally in Jerusalem

American conservative star Glenn Beck hosted a pro-Israel rally with overt Christian overtones in Jerusalem on Wednesday, calling on people around the world to stand with the Jewish state at time when it is facing mounting criticism.

"In Israel, there is more courage in one small square mile than in whole of Europe," Beck said in a politically charged speech at the event. "In Israel, there is more courage in one soldier than in the cold heart of every bureaucrat at the U.N."

At a rally that drew heavily on support from Christian Zionists, Beck's speech was laced with biblical references and apocalyptic phrasing.

"The threats are mounting, and evil is growing; darkness is falling," he said. "Far too many politicians are just too willing to look away. They have turned day into night, good into evil; they have changed the very meaning of our words."

The rally was applauded by some conservative Israelis but was received with mixed emotions in much of the Jewish community.

Yes, it's such a loss that the world did not read the Bible and lived like Israel! Israel is one invincible nation on Planet Earth. Supernaturally because of God's protection and because of literacy on the Old Testament Bible. Christians who only read the New Testament Bible are good but not that wise.

Ah, these Christians know the heart of the matter. What is at stake. Always! American Christians always claim and do what is right!

@N-D-F-, I may be wrong but I feel I'm actually being liked by American atheists. May I immigrate to USA, the once-Christian nation? I love you too much.

What I like about the Jews is the same as what I like about the Amish. They only waste their own time and not their neighbor's time. They don't obsess about signs and miracles that other people have to perform in order that their own religion makes sense. That said, they have just one place in the world they consider their ancestral home and the oil rich police states of the world fund militias in order to harass them. People suck.

I guess it's really interesting to see what goes for liberal "tolerance" these days...I'm not really taking sides or saying anything about Beck personally...I'm just saying that if conservatives were commenting this way on a message board on FoxNews, the liberal media would be all over how evil, hateful, intolerant, and disgusting they were for their thoughts and statements...I mean there are people here stating that they want to send the Jews back to the Nazi concentration camps and exterminate them...I have never heard a conservative activist spew so much garbage as what CNN is letting you liberals get away with...you can disagree with the politics of Israel, but how intolerant are you to say that Jews don't have a right to try and live in peace...if only Hamas and other terror organizations would recognize Israel as a state, the Palestinians would have their own

As much as I despise Glenn Beck and his brand of conservatism, can the media not get that he is an entertainer and should not be taken seriously? Stop helping the misguided people who think that he is anything else.

  11. Interesting. Or Not.

I hope you all realize that more people have commented on Glenn Beck's "event" than actually showed up for it. Apparently Israelis don't give a flying fuck about Beck.

Yes it would be much better if had 300 million plus arabs on all our borders, threatening our very existence, then to have Glenn Beck.

Seriously, this is a disrespect for BOTH the Israelis and Palestinians when Glenn beck is using the Israelis as way to silence his critics that he has a, "Jew problem." Not only is he marginalizing the two-state solution by failing to knowledge the Palestinian's rights, but this is his excuse for his attacks on George Soros by portraying him as a stereotypical "international Jew," and he excuses himself by saying, "I love Israel."

Israel is an EVIL nation! They kill hundreds of innocent people – children and women. They are imprisoning 2.6 million in Gaza not allowing medicine and most food. It is a war crime! UN stated it was a war crime! Free people will not care now if they are gone and deported to camps. IDF soldiers are on YouTube killing children and laughing next to dead children! They are worse than Hitler!

=====@Danger, Honestly, I never heard of Glenn Beck before this, but if he could be such a jerk to say something like that, I think he is smelly garbage, even if I don't like Michael Moore.

The credibility of Mr. Beck is as that of an old shoe that has been soaked and solied only to relinquish an aroma of utter need for cleansing....I am not sure why would anyone host such a showing of flea market grade in such a holy city, Oh..yes..its has been occupied by similar caliber inhabitants....

So much for honesty and integrity:

“No matter how much the healthcare system would try to keep me down, I’m back!”
Beck talks about his “personal voyage through the nightmare that is our healthcare system.”
“We seem to be a society or a system now in healthcare that is just trying to shove the patients out that door as fast as they can.”
“Getting well in this country could actually almost kill you.”
“We have forgotten that the secret to health care is contained right there in the word itself – ‘care’”
    - Glenn Beck, 01/07/08

    Then:
“America already has the best healthcare in the world. We do take care of our sick”.
    - Glenn Beck, 06/04/09
“You are about to lose the best healthcare system in the world”.
    - Glenn Beck, 05/12/09
