Glenn Beck hosts pro-Israel rally in Jerusalem

American conservative star Glenn Beck hosted a pro-Israel rally with overt Christian overtones in Jerusalem on Wednesday, calling on people around the world to stand with the Jewish state at time when it is facing mounting criticism.

"In Israel, there is more courage in one small square mile than in whole of Europe," Beck said in a politically charged speech at the event. "In Israel, there is more courage in one soldier than in the cold heart of every bureaucrat at the U.N."

At a rally that drew heavily on support from Christian Zionists, Beck's speech was laced with biblical references and apocalyptic phrasing.

"The threats are mounting, and evil is growing; darkness is falling," he said. "Far too many politicians are just too willing to look away. They have turned day into night, good into evil; they have changed the very meaning of our words."

The rally was applauded by some conservative Israelis but was received with mixed emotions in much of the Jewish community.

      Dear Tracy,

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. We already have plenty of these thugs around. These descendants of Hitler will always make peace on earth impossible. Regards, Moody

I gotta thank CNN for reporting fairly, and not making this some kind of hit-piece. Secondly, watch the video-it's actually pretty interesting. Remember this is a guy who donates huge sums of money to charity every year, and while I agree, he is a publicity hound, the #@!% is about to hit the fan in the middle east. He is not lying. I'd like to see the reaction from Israelis over the next few weeks-they are the best to judge his intentions.

When I watch this video, I am embarrassed for him. What the HELL is he doing?? He has evolved into such an absurd mess. I've decided, from this moment on.. that I will no longer click on any "Glenn Beck" headlines. I feel that, by allowing my click to register with CNN, is telling CNN "I want more of this" when in fact, that is as far from the truth as possible. I admire Beck's ability to make so much money.. but I despise what he does to people for that money. It's just disgraceful. He tears America Apart and then heads off to Israel? I don't understand this guy. What is he thinking?

Isn't this the same guy who once mocked a woman on air for having a miscarriage? You've got to be pretty gullible to listen to a sermon by this guy.

Christianity is a death cult plain and simple. It was created politically for social control. You have got to be pretty stupid to follow a religion that glorifies the annihilation of man with such grandeur as is described in Revelations. Faith requires no intelligence. All theistic religions are designed to keep people in line.

The only justifiable thing we can do with Glenn Beck is to ignore him and disdain anything he says. He is a multimillionaire living in a mansion surrounded by eight foot walls and is driven around like some sort of dignitary. There will be a time when the money runs out and on that day I will laugh at his begging hand.

I think it is hilarious how republicans pretend to be the middle class working mans vote when most of them are rich white men unwilling to open they're minds to new ideas because of the fear of sharing even 1/1000 of they're money with people less fortunate then themselves. They support the rich by cutting they're taxes, and leaving the lower and middle class to fend for themselves.
Plus don't even get me started about the misinterpretation and literal take on the bible.

One more thing...when was the last time that you saw a Jewish man strap a bomb to his chest, walk into a crowded marketplace filled with mostly with Muslim women and children, and blow himself up thereby murdering those around him? You want to talk about an evil people? The people that are evil are those with callous disregard for human life and will murder hundreds and thousands of people if given a chance in the name of their religion. Jews don't do that...Christians don't do that...I do recognize that all religions have their occasional nut-jobs or lone-wolves who may misinterpret their scriptures and take it upon themselves to commit violence, but no one can say that as a pillar of their religion Jews or Christians kill more people than militant Islam, and specifically Hamas and other terrorist groups, does. This is an article of faith for these people...while Islam as a whole may proclaim to be peaceful, there is an entire wing of their religion that interprets their scriptures that they must murder anyone not Muslim...where is that in Jewish or Christian faiths?

You might check the Bible. There's all kinds of commands from God to kill people for things like being unruly children and blasphemy. Looks like the radical Muslims are just following God's intentions in the Bible before Jesus got him to change his mind.

@Phil, the answer to your question is 1948 at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem and a variety of other locations that year. I'm sure there are other instances, but that's just the first one off the top of my head. Reading is fun, I suggest you try it.

    • Phil

I'm not saying that over the course of thousands of years that any religion has been perfect as far as senseless violence toward themselves or others...what I am saying is that in MODERN religion, militant Islam has killed far and away the greatest number of innocent people in the name of their beliefs than any other mainstream religion...has there been violence in every religion?...sure, I will freely admit that...but both the Torah and the NT teach that murder is wrong no matter who it is against and those that do are sinners...on the other hand the Koran teaches that Muslims must murder Jews and other non-believers and those that do are heroes...so my point is that violence is a pillar of Islam and they are responsible for the vast majority of religious violence today...@Dean...the guy in Norway is an example of the aforementioned nut-jobs...he was/is mentally disturbed

Well phil again, you must not read or think before you speak my friend. Before making ASSumptions, you should maybe go read about the 5 pillars of Islam . . . fasting, pilgrimage to Mecca, charity, affirmation of one god and his prophet, and 5 daily prayers . . . Oh maybe i forgot violence, wait that would make 6, please refrain from embarrassing yourself my friend.
