My Faith: Who does God listen to?

Editor's note: Missionary and conference speaker Jason Frenn is the author of “The Seven Prayers God Always Answers.”

By Jason Frenn, Special to CNN

(CNN) - I was 8 when I first walked into the huge church in Woodland Hills, California. Cautiously moving down the center aisle with my mouth half-open, I gazed at the candles, elaborate statues and stained-glass images and silently asked: “Would God listen if I prayed?”

At the time, I didn’t know much about spiritual things, and unfortunately, I didn’t have anyone in my life who was in a position to enlighten me. Deep down inside, I wondered if God truly cared when I talked to him.

That basic question led me to a simple yet all-important discovery. It’s not how important or pious we are, or even how perfect our beliefs may be. God listens to all of us when we pray. What matters most to him is the sincerity of our heart, and that is precisely what generates a response.

But as I Christian I wonder, "What about people from other religions and walks of life? Does God listen when they pray?"

At this time in our nation’s history, we’ve become polarized over religious issues, but God hasn’t.

He isn’t confined by our opinions or theological positions. Instead, his ways transcend culture and theology. Even our lack of faith and moral shortcomings don’t prevent him from listening to our prayers.

If they did, many great people in history, including King David, an adulterer, and Moses, a murderer, never would have attained an audience with the creator. Regardless of one’s religion, culture or level of morality, God offers all of us something wonderful that might seem surprising to many.

If you’re a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or even an atheist, you don’t need the faith to move mountains or even be a saint to get God’s ear.

Throughout the Bible, there is only one prerequisite to God listening to our petitions. If your heart is sincere when you pray, God will listen and offer an answer to your prayers. This is true for everyone, everywhere, every time.

In Matthew 7:7, Christ spoke to a small crowd and made this promise about prayer. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” God listens to every genuine prayer directed to him. It may not be the answer you’re looking for; nonetheless, you can count on a response to your petition.

A few months ago, I received an e-mail from a man in Africa. He mentioned that he was facing a difficult challenge in his personal life and needed to overcome some significant barriers.

He was scanning channels and came across a television program showing me speaking at a large church. He watched as I said, “God asks you the question, ‘What do you want me to do for you?' ” Suddenly, he paused. What he wrote next in his e-mail struck me. “I am not a Christian,” he said. “I am a Muslim.”

He said, “You encouraged me to pray. So I did, because I am presently going through a difficult challenge in my life that I desperately need to overcome. I realize that I am not alone and that I should pray and ask God Almighty for help. God is answering my prayers.”

He ended his letter by stating, “Prayer and more prayer is what I'll be doing to overcome this barrier!”

I want to leave you with this final thought. If you find yourself dealing with family issues, financial challenges, personal health problems or any other area where you need help, there are prayers God always says yes to regardless of your background or personal faith. You will never know what incredible breakthrough awaits you until you start praying.

The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of Jason Frenn.

Might GOD listen to innocent prisoners...

The money: These private prisons have spent over $20 million lobbying state legislators to make sure they get state anti-immigrant laws approved and ensure access to more immigrant inmates.

A Christian thinks, "There will be peace if all people embrace Christianity". A Muslim thinks, "There will be peace if all people embrace Islam". This is an erroneous notion. Why do people in the world fight ? Why do Catholics and Protestants fight ? Why do Saivites and Vaishnavites fight ? Why do brothers fight among themselves ? The heart must change. Greed and selfishness must perish. Then alone there will be peace in the world.

People merely talk of religion. They are not interested in practicing it, in living it. If Christians lived by the Sermon On The Mount, if the Buddhists followed the Noble Eightfold Path, if the Muslims truly followed the teachings of the Prophet, and the Hindus shaped their life in accordance with the teachings of the Lord, of saints and sages, there will be peace everywhere.

Peace, to be lasting and constructive, must be achieved through God. There can be no peace without the Lord or God. God is Peace. Root yourself in Peace or God. Now you are fit to radiate peace.

Watch your dig on the Hindus there, Muneef. I know you meant the best, I appreciated your understanding of the peaceful messages of Islam, so I think you'd be delighted to read the 'true' belief in Hinduism. They are not a polytheistic group of worshippers like most believe... they simply acknowledge that God, as a whole, is too large of a concept to undestand. So the 'gods' they worship are merely individual facets of the same never-ending jewel. The same way Angels are facets of the Christian God, but taken more specifically to heart. Investigate the works of Paramahansa Yogananda to learn more. You'd be amazed in the apparent Hindu love of God, as you define him.

Hinduism is the oldest book of wisdom and should have all the respect...it should not be judged with out knowledge to what it means or feels.
I Have quoted that out of respect to the true logical words it contained and had no other ill intentions...

    "Who does God listen to?"

Anybody except atheists. Their voices are too few to be listened to.

    Allow me to Quote;

And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!" (14:23).

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky? (14:24).

It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And Allah presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded. (14:25).

And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability. (14:26).

Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills. (14:27).

Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of Allah for disbelief and settled their people [in] the home of ruin? (14:28).

Another book of fables written by a brainwashed moron. No god does not exist and no there is not an afterlife. You are foolish to be wasting the one life you have waiting for something that has never been proven to exist! No-one has ever returned from the dead (not even jesus); no-one is saved in the end-we are all given the same courtesy when the day nears-death, the end of a cycle of life. For you to believe in this crap in a day and age when there is so much evidence to prove otherwise makes one wonder why you are not on medication for the delusions. Hearing god=schizophrenia

Do not know about the book but I do agree with you that there will be life after death and the GOD is the greatest...
      Allow me to quote for you some thing might you like;

Say, [O Muhammad], "Praise be to Allah , and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate with Him?"

[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him]. (27:60).

Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but most of them do not know. (27:61).

Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember. (27:62).

Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah ? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. (27:63).

Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful." (27:64).

Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah , and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected." (27:65).

Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind. (27:66).

And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]? (27:67).

We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples." (27:68).

Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals." (27:69).

And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire. (27:70).

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" (27:71).

Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you – some of that for which you are impatient. (27:72).

And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show grat-itude." (27:73).

And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare. (27:74).

And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register. (27:75).

Indeed, this Qur'an relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree. (27:76).

And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers. (27:77).

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. (27:78).

So rely upon Allah ; indeed, you are upon the clear truth. (27:79).

Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating. (27:80).

And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [submitting to Allah ]. (27:81).

The Bible is interpreted to be the word of GOD but was written by man-it's not like GOD went to a publisher and said,"I have this book I would like to sell and then go on a book tour to publicize, Can you book ME on Leno, Letterman and The Daily Show?" GOD wants His people to figure it out for themselves!!

    • PRISM 1234

      Good Morning to you, friend!
Muneef, hate and malice in one's heart is like a wildfire, those wo have malice in their heart have no boundrees where they wouldn't go to spread it. It is not under ones pants or skirt where lucifer hides, but in one's heart and soul.
Look what they did to Christ Jesus... He Himself said that if they loved Him, they would love us, and if they hated Him they would hate us also, and speak all maner of evil against us. But blessed are we if they do this for His name's sake....
Here is one of the instances the Holy Scriptures speak about :

" .....Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. And all the multi-tudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”
Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out?
Therefore they shall be your judges.
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scat-ters abroad.

Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
A good man out of the good treasure of his hear] brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
      (Mattherw 12)

      PRISM 1234.
      Good evening to you friend.

Dear that was beautiful and speaks as same as our holy book about the abilities of Jesus and being the words of GOD coming out of his mouth...
Thank you for this quote and look forward for more of it when ever situation permits it is all wisdom..

Any way my comment were to point out that even real male men warriors are still wearing some thing that is similar to skirts so there is no shame in that... Just to point out men are not judged with what they wear but what they have in heart and mind... Bless you brother and GOD be with you as your shadow...Amen.

      October 19, 2011 at 4:03 pm |
    • PRISM 1234

"Bless you brother and GOD be with you as your shadow..."
Thank you so much for your prayer, dear friend.....
May He also keep you in these troublesome times, guard you from all evil, and protect you and your loved ones from all harm.

I read about the troubles overthere.... Those uprisings we read about, cause very delicate siturtion, and much instavbility, even though they are a path to liberation.... It's often the innocent people that are caught in the "stampeede"
So be not hasty to speak and keep low profile. In times like these you do not know who your friend is, and who is the enemy...
Some years back when I went overseas, to my own country, there was a turmoil ... not publickly, but there was tension that could be felt. We had a nighboor that was very friendly, and I had no thoughts of doubt about this person. But one day, when a knock came on the door, I felt overwhelming warning in my spirit that I should be alert of my words, because there was no friend on the other side of that door. When I opened, GOD has shown me that behind the smiling face of this visitor was someone who had darkness in the heart. Later I found out that this was true, and that if I slipped up in my words, this person would have used it against me.

God will protect those who put their refuge in Him. Not every situation is the same, but there is a promisse that God gives to those who seek Him with all theira hearts, and look to Him for refuge....
Here is one beloved psalm, I think you will find treasure in it for your heart.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
      I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
      And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His pinions,
      And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
      And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
      No evil shall befall you,
      Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

      “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
      He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
      I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation," says the LORD.

God's Peace be with you and your family!

      Hi, Muneef
In contents of my posts you may see that I myself couldn't keep silent in face of injustices. But to keep a low profile in places like where you are, I would simply mean not to mingle with rowdy crowds whose partakers look more like they would attack the fellow stepping accidentally on their toes, then being there by the reason of conviction to demand tyrants to step down. But you are right that tyrants would never give up the power they have in their iron grips, unless they loose support of the people, and it be taken aways by force. Remember Romania, and Nicolae Ceausescu?..... a story of great inspiration.... I hope you understand what I mean....
My prayer is with you and your people!

Thank you again friend, I did take your advice in regard of writing about the inside of my place knowing how true you are about local issues but can not find my self able not to write about issues that are unrelated to local issues... Any way what is happening here are merely family&clan issues that they may resolve or one takes out another therefore we do not want to interfere in family issues that may resolve it self by it self by one way or another...! We have a saying that goes "Who ever interfere between an Onion and it's skin would only bring him tears".

      This term is Egyptian and used for when some one interfere in some thing that is non of his business or interfering between fights of relatives... Maybe i did not say it right but it might should be like this;
"Getting between the onion bulb and it's skin only brings you tears in the eyes and bad smell".

paper-thin skinned bulb. Often known to bring a tear in our eyes and pungency to the breath.

For Muneef and the other 1.5 billion lost Muslims out there from their 1.1 billion agnostic/atheist friends:

Saving Muslims is quite easy!!! (as developed by yours truly based on the studies of Armstrong, Rushdie, Hirsi Ali, Richardson and Bayhaqi)

The Five Steps To Deprogram 1400 Years of Islamic Myths:
( –The Steps take less than two minutes to finish- simply amazing, two minutes to bring peace and rationality to over one billion lost souls- Priceless!!!)

      Are you ready?

Using "The 77 Branches of Islamic "faith" a collection compiled by Imam Bayhaqi as a starting point. In it, he explains the essential virtues that reflect true "faith" (iman) through related Qur’anic verses and Prophetic sayings." i.e. a nice summary of the Koran and Islamic beliefs.

The First Five of the 77 Branches:

      "1. Belief in Allah"

aka as God, Yahweh, Zeus, Jehovah, Mother Nature, etc. should be added to your cleansing neurons.

"2. To believe that everything other than Allah was non-existent. Thereafter, Allah Most High created these things and subsequently they came into existence."

Evolution and the Big Bang or the "Gi-b G-nab" (when the universe starts to recycle) are more plausible and the "akas" for Allah should be included if you continue to be a "crea-tionist".

"3. To believe in the existence of angels."

A major item for neuron cleansing. Angels/de-vils are the mythical creations of ancient civilizations, e.g. Hitt-ites, to explain/define natural events, contacts with their gods, big birds, sudden winds, protectors during the dark nights, etc. No "pretty/ug-ly wingy thingies" ever visited or talked to Mohammed, Jesus, Mary or Joseph or Joe Smith. Today we would classify angels as f–airies and "tin–ker be-lls". Modern de-vils are classified as the de-mons of the de-mented.

"4. To believe that all the heavenly books that were sent to the different prophets are true. However, apart from the Quran, all other books are not valid anymore."

Another major item to delete. There are no books written in the spirit state of Heaven (if there is one) just as there are no angels to write/publish/distribute them. The Koran, OT, NT etc. are simply books written by humans for humans.

Prophets were invented by ancient scribes typically to keep the un-educated masses in line. Today we call them for-tune tellers.

Prophecies are also invali-dated by the natural/God/Allah gifts of Free Will and Future.

"5. To believe that all the prophets are true. However, we are commanded to follow the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
Mohammed spent thirty days "fasting" (the Ramadan legend) in a hot cave before his first contact with Allah aka God etc. via a "pretty wingy thingy". Common sense demands a neuron deletion of #5. #5 is also the major source of Islamic vi-olence i.e. turning Mohammed's "fast, hunger-driven" hallu-cinations into horrible reality for unbelievers.

Walk these Five Steps and we guarantee a complete recovery from your Islamic ways!!!!

Unfortunately, there are not many Muslim commentators/readers on this blog so the "two-minute" cure is not getting to those who need it. If you have a Muslim friend, send him a copy and help save the world.

Analogous steps are available at your request for deprogramming the myths of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Paganism..

Islam has not changed its koranic-driven acts of terror and horror:

      Some examples:

The Muslim Conquest of India – 11th to 18th century

■"The likely death toll is somewhere between 2 million and 80 million. The geometric mean of those two limits is 12.7 million. "

and the 19 million killed in the Mideast Slave Trade 7C-19C by Muslims.

      and more recently

In the United Kingdom the event is referred to as the Lockerbie disaster, the Lockerbie bombing, or simply Lockerbie. Eleven townspeople were killed in Sherwood Crescent, where the plane's wings and fuel tanks plummeted in a fiery explosion, destroying several houses and leaving a huge crater, with debris causing damage to a number of buildings nearby. The 270 fatalities (259 on the plane, 11 in Lockerbie) were citizens of 21 nations.

      22) Shariatpur, Bangladesh (CNN 3/30/2011) - Hena Akhter's last words to her mother proclaimed her innocence. But it was too late to save the 14-year-old girl. Her fellow villagers in Bangladesh's Shariatpur district had already passed harsh judgment on her. Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment: 101 lashes delivered swiftly, deliberately in public. Hena dropped after 70 and died a week later.

      23) "October 4, 2011, 100 die as a truck loaded with drums of fuel exploded Tuesday at the gate of compound housing several government ministries on a busy Mogadishu street. It was the deadliest single bombing carried out by the al Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group in Somalia since their insurgency began. "

Christian h0mophobes will tell you that God listens to them when they trash gays and ignors them when they commit sins like adultery by remarrying.

You gays hate Jesus so much, yet He paid your penalty by dying on a cross for YOU, too. Repent. Follow Him. Case in point, my pastor has stated that he would welcome you into our church building to hear a salvation message. While some may frown on that idea, I agree with it. While my sin(s) don't include h0m0$exuality, I still need God's mercy and grace just as much as the next guy. Some portray God as a divine sicko who just can't wait to send you to hell. Yet the Bible says He does not wish that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance. That includes the LBGT crowd, too.

You are correct that God hears us when we trash others. The Bible says "we are held accountable for every word that comes from our lips".
You know that I dissagree with you on the divorce issue when the innocent spouse releases the other spouse it is no longer adultery and forgiveness of sin applys. As long as the innocent party (parties) are hurting by your adultry it is a continuing sin. The overriding principle is harm to others is wrong (except in rare case to defend life). No greater love has a man than to lay down his life for a friend.

Proof was something the enticer dangled before man in the beginning. Don't you find it foolish that thousands of years later one who considers himself to be enlightened by science would suggest the same enticement? “did God really say that” The thing about Christians is they heed Gods word so that we do not fall into the same traps as our ancestors.

    Dear Mr. Frenn,

The Apostles' Creed 2010: (updated by yours truly using the studies of contemporary NT exegetes)

Should I believe in a god whose existence cannot be proven
and said god if he/she/it exists resides in an unproven,
human-created state of bliss called heaven??

I believe there was a 1st century CE, Jewish, simple,
preacher-man who was conceived by a Jewish carpenter
named Joseph living in Nazareth and born of a young Jewish
    girl named Mary.

Jesus was summarily crucified for being a temple rabble-rouser by
the Roman troops in Jerusalem serving under under Pontius Pilate,

He was buried in an unmarked grave and still lies
a-mouldering in the ground somewhere outside of

Said Jesus' story was embellished and "mythicized" by
many local semi-fiction writers. A bodily resurrection and
ascension story was promulgated to compete with the
Caesar myths. Said stories were so popular that they
grew into a religion known today as Catholicism/Christianity
and featuring dark-age, daily wine to blood and bread to body rituals
called the eucharistic sacrifice of the non-atoning Jesus.

Most Christians suffer from the Three B Syndrome, i.e. Bred, Born and Brainwashed in the flaws and fallacies of Christianity. The cure? Reading and rational thinking!!!!

Synopsis of 21st Christianity based on the studies of Professors Crossan, Ludemann, Borg, Fredricksen et al:

Jesus was an illiterate, Jewish, peasant/carpenter/simple preacher man who suffered from hallucinations and who has been characterized anywhere from the Messiah from Nazareth to a mythical character from mythical Nazareth to a ma-mzer from Nazareth (Professor Bruce Chilton, in his book Rabbi Jesus). An-alyses of Jesus’ life by many contemporary NT scholars via the NT and related doc-uments have concluded that only about 30% of Jesus' sayings and ways noted in the NT were authentic. The rest being embellishments (e.g. miracles)/hallucinations made/had by the NT authors to impress various Christian, Jewish and Pagan se-cts.

The 30% of the NT that is "authentic Jesus" like everything in life was borrowed/plagiarized and/or improved from those who came before. In Jesus' case, it was the ways and sayings of the Babylonians, Greeks, Persians, Egyptians, Hit-ti-tes, Canaanites, OT, John the Baptizer and possibly the ways and sayings of traveling Greek Cynics.

For added "pizz-azz", Catholic theologians divided god the singularity into three persons and invented atonement as an added guilt trip for the "pew people" to go along with this trinity of overseers. By doing so, they made god the padre into god the "fil-icider".

      Current RCC problems:

Pedo-ph-iliac priests, an all-male, mostly white hierarchy, atonement theology and original sin!!!!

Luther, Calvin, Joe Smith, Henry VIII, Wesley, Roger Williams, the Great “Babs” et al, founders of Christian-based religions or combination religions also suffered from the belief in/hallucinations of "pretty wingie thingie" visits and "prophecies" for profits analogous to the myths of Catholicism (resurrections, apparitions, ascensions and immacu-late co-nceptions).

      Current problems:

Adu-lterous preachers, pedophiliac clerics, "propheteering/ profiteering" evangelicals and atonement theology,–

Well, of course they cannot match it, because they are using the most popular book of fiction in history and using it as factual evidence. Personally, I'd love to know how a naked woman can communicate with a snake that had verbal abilities, and how a boat was made that was large enough to carry 2 of every animal on this planet. Not a very deep gene pool was it? And why only animals? This vessel had the fauna, but what about the flora? I'd love to know how land-based plants survived underwater for 40 days. Any brainwashed bible-thumpers want to answer THAT one?

Oh, I forgot a part of that question. After this "flood", since the entire planet was enguled, just where exactly did the waters recede to? Let's go bible-parrots, quote me something. I triple-dog dare you.

You are all wet which is why you cannot ever throw in the towel. There is much in the flood story for you. The ungodly generation of Cain was blotted out from existence and the unbelivers mocked Noah right up to the day the rain came. They all wanted on the boat but it wastoo late judgement came. You still have time if you are reading this but that could be seconds or hours. Either way when the flood comes as in the day of Noah it will sudden an you will get caught in the middle of one of your mocking fits. The flood was for the purpose of creating a people separated for God. Since the Bible revolved around the general area of Iraq and Turkey at this time period it would not take much of a local flood to wipe out all the family of Cain or others in that area. A local flood would all the geologists happy that are Jew or Christian and fits with the BIble fine. A global flood was not necessary to create a separaration for Noah and his family from the rest of the godless in the area. However, God can do what ever He likes thats why they are called miracles. In this case a local miracle would make everyone happy.

According to your own book of myths, *oops* I mean bible, the WORLD was flooded. But as I read your text, it appears you are using the flood as an allegory. Not a lot of fact in an allegory is there? You tell me in simple terms to straighten up and fly right, or "god" will punish me. This is exactly the kind of thinking that held back humanity for over 1000 years (Dark Ages). When people started to wake up in the 1500's and began asking "Why?", then the church got PIS-SED that someone dare question them. Well, I'm questioning them, and you. You're using this god of yours to scare me. Good luck. You'd have better lkuck telling me to beware of werewolves, vampires, bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster. Just one question .. answer yes or no .... Every word in that book of yours is true? EVERY word?? yes or no, that's all you have to answer

A Global flood? Even the bible contradicts Genesis:

"The concept of a global Genesis flood can be easily eliminated from a plain reading of Psalm 104,1 which is known as the "creation psalm." Psalm 104 describes the creation of the earth in the same order as that seen in Genesis 1 (with a few more details added). It begins with an expanding universe model (reminiscent of the Big Bang) (verse 2,1 parallel to Genesis 1:1). It next describes the formation of a stable water cycle (verses 3-5,1 parallel to Genesis 1:6-8). The earth is then described as a planet completely covered with water (verse 6, parallel to Genesis 1:9). God then causes the dry land to appear (verses 7-8,1 parallel to Genesis 1:9-10). The verse that eliminates a global flood follows: "You set a boundary they [the waters] cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth." (Psalm 104:9)1 Obviously, if the waters never again covered the earth, then the flood must have been local. Psalm 104 is just one of several creation pas.sages that indicate that God prevented the seas from covering the entire earth.2 An integration of all flood and creation pas.sages clearly indicates that the Genesis flood was local in geographic extent."(http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/localflood.html)

  20. PRISM 1234

In Matthew 7:7, Christ spoke to a small crowd and made this promise about prayer. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; kno-ck and the door will be opened to you.” God listens to every genuine prayer directed to him. It may not be the answer you’re looking for; nonetheless, you can count on a response to your peti-tion.....
There are prayers God always says yes to regardless of your background or personal faith. You will never know what incredible breakthrough awaits you until you start praying."

There are theologians who claim that God hears only prayers of those who know Him, and have personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior... But if this was so, how would then anyone of us come to know Him, becaue we are all lost and un-done until we become new creation in Christ Jesus, which is through trusting in His finished work on the cross.
But it's what is in the HEART of a person that causes God to respond to their prayers...
    Here are God's own words:
For this says the high and exalted One, who inhabits Eternity, whose name is Holy "I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contri-te and lowly of spirit, to revive the heart of the contri-te ones." (Isaiah 57)
And He does this so that He may draw us to Himself. Because He loved us before we've ever loved Him. God will move heaven and earth to bring one soul to Himself, if this soul sincerely seeks Him.. And He will always bring them to the knowledge of Himself through His son Jesus Christ... There is no other name under the Heavens by which can a man be saved, and it is of Him that the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth, tes-ti-fies, and of no other.

But what separates people from God is it is the sin and rebel-lion that's in their hearts...This is what He says about the proud:
...(but) those with a proud look and arrogant heart will I not endure.... Everyone who is proud in heart is an abo-mina-tion to the Lord."

If some find those words written here offensive, it is not because they are mal-ici-ous or hateful, BUT for the reason which Christ Jesus Himself stated only few verses after John 3:16, which talks about the love of God for humanity...
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begot-ten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to co-ndemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not co-ndemned; but he who does not believe is co-ndemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begot-ten Son of God.

    Here lies the REAL REASON!

PRISM, I didn't write this. It's my little admirer. He's having a hard time with my posts. Threatened, I guess.

      herbie, it's okay.

I won't answer you "YES or NO", but I'll ask you a question....

If I told you, even explained it to you, my answer would be drowned out by your frivolous chatter....
According to your own posts, you've got it all figured out. God could never match your wits ! ! !
So, go your way, and laugh all the way, ever so merrily..... there is a carnival going on, and you've many clowns joining you!
But what's on the other end of path you're on, even if a dead man came to life and told you, you would not believe him... You would still laugh and frolic merrily, dancing along to the drum beat of the enemy of your soul who is alluring you ever closer and closer to the dark, shadowy place where your path is leading you, and he is waiting to take your soul.
Go ahead and LAUGH EVEN NOW, at the words written to you in this post....
But know this, that this does not come to you from a brainless, head-nodding puppet who keeps parroting phrases of a TV-celebrity preacher.
You will find out when your time comes, that the things written here were the truth your soul needed, but you let it slip out of your hand.... Foolishness has a high price to pay for the little time one indulges in it... And afterwars the only thing remains is regret.....

      Prism 1234,

You come on very dark, indeed. I suspect that you are hiding Lucifer under your skirt, though. We will be watching you
