Yemeni women burn veils to protest regime

From Mohammed Jamjoom and Hakim Almasmari, CNN

Sanaa, Yemen (CNN) - Yemeni women defiantly burned their traditional veils Wednesday in protest of President Ali Abdullah Saleh's brutal crackdown on anti-government demonstrations.

Thousands of women gathered in the capital, Sanaa, said witnesses. They carried banners that read: "Saleh the butcher is killing women and is proud of it" and "Women have no value in the eyes in Ali Saleh."

They collected their veils and scarves in a huge pile and set it ablaze - an act that is highly symbolic in the conservative Islamic nation, where women use their veils to cover their faces and bodies. It's the first time in the nine months of Yemen's uprising that such an event has occurred.

And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous. 2:130

When his Lord said to him, "Submit", he said "I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds." 2:131

And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], "O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims." 2:132

Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac – one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
    2:133

That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do. 2:134

They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists." 2:135

Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." 2:136

So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 2:137

[And say, "Ours is] the religion of Allah . And who is better than Allah in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him." 2:138

Say, [O Muhammad], "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere [in deed and intention] to Him." 2:39

Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah ?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah ? And Allah is not unaware of what you do. 2:140

That is a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do. 2:141

Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided – it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager over them. 39:41

Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. 39:42

Or have they taken other than Allah as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?" 39:43

Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned." 39:44
      ---–

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah , your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers." 39:65

Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful. 39:66

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was. 3:59
The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters. 3:60

      • There was no Abraham i.e. the foundations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are non-existent.

      • There was no Moses i.e the pillars of Judaism, Christianity and Islam have no strength of purpose.

      • There was no Gabriel i.e. Islam fails as a religion. Christianity partially fails.

      • There was no Easter i.e. Christianity completely fails as a religion.

      • There was no Moroni i.e. Mormonism is nothing more than a business cult.

      • Sacred/revered cows, monkey gods, castes, reincarnations and therefore Hinduism fails as a religion.

      • Fat Buddhas here, skinny Buddhas there, reincarnated Buddhas everywhere makes for a no on Buddhism.

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent. 2:284

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination." 2:285

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." 2:286

Mind you that the action of women burning of their veils in protest..has nothing to do with Islam Religion by any way but is rather an act orc Customs, traditions of tribal cultures...!

My heart aches for Muslim people.. They are full of zeal for their "God", but they don't know that the one whom they worship is NOT God , but impersonator....
They totally put their trust in one man's testimony , basing their faith in it, and gambling their eternal souls on it.... BUT it has no witness of the Spirit of God...
Jesus Christ was God who came down in the form of a man, and He came to DECLARE and REVEAL the Father. Yet, they know OF Him, but they don't KNOW Him. They stumble over the issue that God is one,and does not have a son.... Yet, we who know Him also understand that He is one God, manifested in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. If Christ Jesus was not God come in the flesh, then His blood could not be sufficient to cleanse us and present us to the Father. It's really not hard to understand, except to those who are blinded by the enemy of their souls, who desires to keep them captive, as he is doing it to those precious people who are caught up in Islam's dead religion.. I say dead because it offers no REAL, LIVING relationship with God, but only a form of religion, giving people in it a false hope that if they abide by rules and commandments, they will be saved... But God says that all OUR OWN righteousness is as filthy rags before Him, and that no (hu)man can come and stand before Him in his/her own righteousness, by his own deeds.... That's where they are amiss!
But satan doesn't mind if masses of people are steeped in religion, so long they miss REAL Christ Jesus. Because there is no name under the Heavens by which any (hu)man can be saved... Without the REAL Christ, there is no remission of sin. May the Spirit of God open those people's' eyes so that they may see Christ who He really is, and come tho Him to have LIFE!

If you were god, and you wanted to let your people know you were the one and only, (which they seem to have forgotten), and, being god, you could do pretty much anything you wanted, why would you try to get these people back into the fold by creating yourself in the flesh, then having yourself brutally killed, and then requiring your people to eat the flesh and drink the blood of you in order to be saved? I mean, if you could do anything? That just does NOT make ANY sense. I mean, it even sounds kind of evil-ish to me.

"Oh, the depth of the riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out... He has hidden them from those who are wise in their own eyes, but revealed them to the humble, and those of broken and contrite hearts..."

In those words lies your answer,Diane!

Honestly, I believe if all the women in those barbaric countries would be airlifted and taken out of them, the men who remain there would be eaten up by worms , wallowing in their own refuse. They depend on those women with dear life, yet treat them as livestock. Go, Yemeni women Go! I'm glad to see at least one good thing come out of their "Arab spring" I'm sure many will be wishing their dictators back in power after their mullahs take their high seats! Don't forget what happened in Afghanistan. Those who tell you it's better now, then since we went there, are lying... It's a joke of the decade!

These mid-east countries are all fighting against their mainly secular leadership. They WANT radical Islam! It is time to nuke the mid-east and when the radiation dissipates, send Israel in to re-create the whole area into a democratic, prosperous modern area.
