Fox apologizes to Jews for poll on who murdered Jesus

By Dan Gilgoff, CNN.com Religion Editor

(CNN) - Fox Latin America has pulled and apologized for an online poll that asked who was responsible for Jesus’ death and included Jews as a possible response.

The poll had been posted on a Facebook page for National Geographic Cable TV in Latin America as part of a promotional effort for a Christmas special on the channel, according to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish group.

The National Geographic Channel in Latin America is a member of Fox International Channels, part of News Corp.

“Christmas Special is coming to Nat Geo… Who do you think responsible for the death of Jesus?” the Spanish-language poll asked, according to the Wiesenthal Center.

The multiple-choice responses were “Pontius Pilate; The Jewish People; the High Priests.”

On Wednesday, the Wiesenthal Center announced that the National Geographic Channel in Latin America had removed the poll and apologized for it.

"We sincerely apologize for the publication of a poll on our website that might have unintentionally given place to interpretations, opinions or expressions of intolerance that might affect the Jewish community," Fox Latin America’s vice president for corporate communications and PR said in a statement.

“This would contradict the mission and spirit of National Geographic worldwide, which focuses on education for diversity through shows questioning our world,” said the vice president, Guadalupe Lucero.

"We have also taken appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” he said.

evolvedDNA – all evolution is is Man's attempt to explain away their Creator. Plain and simple. Even the Fossil record defies the basic idea of evolution. Even Darwin himself said that his whole theory would be shot down if transitional life forms were not eventually found in the fossil record. He was confident though that over time and with technology they would be found. Sorry, but not gunna happen!

And my own proof of what Jesus has done in my life, the life of my wife (saved 2 years ago), the life of my kids, and the life of the Chaplain of a MLB team. He was 20 years in and out of jail, a heroin addict. Abandoned as a child on the streets at the age of 10! He has certainly met the resurrected savior!! A new creation in Christ!

How can you reject a God, who came to earth in human flesh, suffered and died for us, and then was resurrected? Why would you not accept such a free gift?

Paul, evidence of transitional life has been found plenty of times. Ardi and Lucy are evidence of transitional lives between our common ancestor and us. I really don't understand why God can't be credited for creating evolution in species so the life forces He created would continue to grow stronger and stronger the longer they lived on earth. What's so bad about that?

evolvedDNA – How did the Prophet Isaiah, who lived approx 700 years before JC, know that the earth was a circle?

    Isaiah 40:22-24
    21 Haven’t you heard? Don’t you understand?
Are you deaf to the words of God—
the words he gave before the world began?
    Are you so ignorant?
22 God sits above the circle of the earth.
The people below seem like grasshoppers to him!
He spreads out the heavens like a curtain
and makes his tent from them.
23 He judges the great people of the world
and brings them all to nothing.
24 They hardly get started, barely taking root,
when he blows on them and they wither.
The wind carries them off like chaff.

A circle is a 2 dimensional element. The earth is not a circle. It's not even a "3D circle." It's an oblate spheroid. Why doesn't The Babble know this? And why is the value of PI calculated using values from The Babble wrong?

Funny story about the prophet Isaiah thinking that the world is a circle, Paul. The Greeks are attributed to being the first to acknowledge the idea that the Earth is round. Pythagoras, Parmenides, and Empedocles are all credited as the first men to hypothesize that the world is round. So the idea of the earth being circular had been around for centuries by the time Isaiah rolled around in the 8th century. Scholars have also proven that the prophet Isaiah did not write all of The Book of Isaiah; it was written by many different authors.

Lucy – Pythagorus lived from 580 BC to 500 BC. Isaiah lived from around 700 BC or before those great men you mentioned.

Here are the basics. God created all the heavens and the entire universe. God gave the life of his only son to atone for the sins of
many. Jesus died for me (a lowly human), so that if I live a life that is pleasing to God, I will spend my eternity in Heaven with my
Lord and Savior God only has three things we must do: Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul. Live your life by
the Ten Commandments and love thy neighbor as thyself. The Bible is the blueprint for our lives. There's too much hate in our world.
My motto is: Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. God is perfect..........mortal man is not. God Bless Everyone!

Of course Jesus never existed. No historical evidence for it. However, the Bible seems to say the Jews of the time were at least in part responsible. Funny that people object to stating what the Bible says to be the case. If you are not willing to accept that the Jews were at least in part responsible for the death of Jesus, then you should really consider rejecting other horrible and crazy things that the Bible says too.

Read the bible, The jews chose to have Jesus killed instead of a known murder (they were mad at him for saying he's the son of God) but it was the Romans who killed Jesus. This all had to happen so Jesus could die for our sins but the JEWS OF TODAY ARE NOT GUILTY. so there it is one for the books, the forgiveness of sin is far more important than who kill Jesus and I'm glad people still can talk about Jesus without going to jail or being killed here in 2011, amen.
