Like the hardening of Pharoah's heart, or the test of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son, God is less than honest.
These Christian bashers show the real hypocrisy here, when in one breath they bash the Christians for their intolerance of the Gay lifestyle and yet ask people to remain tolerant. Tolerance is evil. It suggest that we should accept all values, faith, lifestyles and beliefs. How far are you people willing to go with this? By this logic should we be accepting of pedophiles, rapist and murderers? Answer: Your focus is obviously on the gay issue. I'm posting His truth regarding that WE are all born to sin because we live in the flesh body and won't go back to our spiritual existence until we leave this world. It is learning what Jesus' wants us to learn of His SPIRITUAL TRUTH is what will get us to join Him in eternity that is the issue. God tests ALL of us while we are living in the flesh to see if we turn away from carnal sin (thinking, believing and doing carnally instead of spiritually) and study, comprehend and apply His spiritual truth to our lives while living on earth.
P.S. Stop believing gays have the franchise on sin ...because WE are all sinners and ALL have our crosses to bare. It's what He deals to us and how we choose to learn His spiritual truth to rid ourselves from buying into the lies of the world (carnal) is what counts with Him. What WE think is irrelevant to Him. Gay people should not be judged. How does anyone know anything at all about the reason people are gay. Think with your own mind about this and not what others say about the issue. It is so easy to judge. It is not so easy for a gay person because people think they know the truth according to the word of God. I have thought about this a long time. Some things we have been taught need to be thrown away because why would gays be punished for being gay. It is a matter that science will find answers to some day.as to some gene mystery or etc.
Jesus said nothing about being gay in the Gospels, and many prudent Christians have taken this as reason enough not to judge. To do otherwise is to presume to know what he would have said about the subject, which is a dangerous hobby to take up doing, wouldn't you say?

Well it looks like CNN (Belief Blog) is going to shoot down Oral Roberts. First he son gets trashed over a minor DUI charge and now his grandson over gay issues? Who cares? But it is major Christian personage and the non-believers what to do a hatchet job on all of them. I don't see Oral Roberts as perfect (or any preacher). In fact I do not actually like very many preachers (especially the goody-goody two shoes kind). But at the same time DUI is not an uncommon thing; it's wrong but it is widespread. And at least 75% of the DUI drives do not get caught. Now a gay grandson? What kind of mud are they going to sling at that? AM I the only one who sees this? It's so transparent.
The difference is pretty clear. The holy rollers brag about their righteousness and their adherence to the laws of their sky-fairy. Why shouldn't others gloat and guffaw when they show themselves to be failures? They've put themselves on a pedestal as exemplars of Christianity! They spend every waking hour condemning all who don't believe precisely what they do. Why shouldn't we ridicule them? Shun them? Castigate them? They've asked for it by doing the same to everyone else!
Tell someone who has lost someone to a drunk driver that there is such a thing as a "minor" DUI charge. All it takes is a single time to ruin many people's lives so, what are you saying, that it's OK to drive drunk SOMETIMES?
I've been to churches where guys give testimony to being drunks who drive. They almost seem proud of it, like it gives them some street cred with the other sinners. But they're saved now so it's OK even if they backslide. Everyone's just waiting for them to kill somebody. Then maybe they'll be stopped. Why do we accept this kind of thing?

Christians market their faith as the best treatment for and prevention of bad behavior when the reality is that it definitely doesn't make anyone actually behave any better and, in some areas like tolerance towards others, seems to make people actually behave worse than average. When a product fails to live up to it's advertised claims then isn't that news?

It's sad when people have so little respect for themselves that they must lie to feel that they are a part of something. Going to church does not make someone a christian. Only acknowledging that one has disobeyed God and acknowledging that one needs a savoir named Jesus the same Jesus who died on the cross and was raised from the dead.
True christians do not believe they are better than others whether they be other christians or secular. If anything we are more aware that we are unworthy of the sacrifice Jesus made for us at the cross. But because we know that Jesus' death paid the price for our disobedience to the Father we are made free. We are made righteous in Christ by His grace. We are so aware of what He did for us and how much God loves all the world (John 3:16) that we are grateful to Him. We believe that He loves us as His children and His friend and therefore we have faith that He wants only the best for us. We want to please Him not because He will punish us if we don't but because we love Him because He first loved us.
God is an awesome god and Jesus is a great friend. He loves you. Just check Him out you'll see.

John 16, I also don't see anywhere in Donny K's post where he specifically refers to these people as Christians. He merely says he's seen this happen in churches. Please clarify where exactly his lie is. Is it the part where he refers to them as being saved? To me, this is just a feeling or belief that they or other people have, unless you have some objective test for determining whether someone is saved.

Everyone pretty much calls themselves a Christian and saved in the churches I've attended. Everyone wants to be trusted, but you're saying that at least some of them are liars. So why should I listen to a thing that any of them has to say about being good and what's right?

Apart from the obvious, that Jesus didn't actually write any part of the Bible, even the anti-religion, anti-church "relationship" Christians still market their ideology as the best cure for human evil, but can they actually prove it?
