Much of it went on around Galillee where there isn't a lot of trees. Was he around Jordan? Yes. A lot of trees around Jordan? Not as many as you might think. I'll conceded the idea that maybe back then there was more.
This is one of the reasons I am not nor will ever be a Christian. If they do not agree with something God does not agree either, how convenient.
He must have missed the part where God tells the people how to handle their slaves (it must be acceptable if not preferable to own slave).
