Report of Quran burning sparks protests at Afghan base

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the Baghram Airfield in Afghanistan on Tuesday, spurred by reports that soldiers had burned a copy of the Quran at the base.

NATO officials acknowledged that Islamic religious materials, including copies of the Quran, had been improperly disposed at the base, but could not definitely say whether any was burned.

"We think very little was disposed (of)," said Col. Gary Kolb. "We don't think any was burned because we were able to recover most of the materials."

The commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan quickly apologized and said he had launched an investigation.

The next time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to learn, however I actually thought youd have one thing interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you may repair in the event you werent too busy searching for attention.

Im impressed, I have to say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a weblog thats each educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you could have hit the nail on the head. Your thought is excellent; the problem is one thing that not sufficient persons are talking intelligently about. I'm very glad that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing regarding this.

From the Kill a commie for Christ file .I love how this group calls itelsf a world outreach. What better way to reach out to others than to desecrate what they consider sacred. Brilliant! Truly mental giants at work here!Remember the Danish cartoonists? So you know what's coming. There will be a revenge killing in Florida soon after a fatwah is issued by some cleric in a Muslim country.Jesus would be so proud.

A secret Bible in which Jesus is believed to predict the coming of the Prophet Muhammad to Earth has sparked serious interest from the Vatican.

Pope Benedict XVI is claimed to want to see the 1,500-year-old book, which many say is the Gospel of Barnabas, that has been hidden by the Turkish state for the last 12 years.

The £14million handwritten gold lettered tome, penned in Jesus' native Aramaic language, is said to contain his early teachings and a prediction of the Prophet's coming.

Guess Pres.Obama should ask who's interest was to spark such a riot...knowingly that is inexcusable act for some pretending to bring peace in to the area...! If Taliban had shot individuals then such an act has shot a whole nation...!

Any way as it seems this will be the beginning of the end for Foreign troops in Afghanistan since now it is becoming more like a Holy War were every one there will be glad to give his life and die as a martyr. For the sake of his religion & beliefs..!

Who ever ordered the burning was either trying to speed up the withdrawals of the foreign troops from Afghanistan or some one who wanted the wars there to be heated up and extended heavily as with ((Wars means good business for some))...!

It was intended to humiliate beliefs of those and all Muslims while to find excuse to commit mass murders of angry Afghan Muslims...! If that act was of the supposedly friends then who needs enemies...? Obviously those Afghan soliders will have no alternative now but to fight foreign troops rather than their own people who are angry out of a religious prospective and not politics...! What a shame...

Surveillance of Muslims is only an introduced advanced precaution to an act of burning of Quran in Afghanistan which of course is not an insult or humiliation to Afghans only but to the whole Islamic nation...! Them lunatics do all such ignorant and arrogant acts and then complain that Muslims are being violent....?! just wonder who are behind all these plans bringing up Islamic rage to boil up...?!

I applaud the Afghans for the protests against the burning of the Quran. They have learnt an important lesson of history: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2012/02/24/book-burnings-here-and-there/ – Never again!

Two wrongs don't make a right! To take a persons life over burning a defaced book sounds as if the people involved actually found something! As for the individuals that want to commend these people for protecting a book! Give me a break these same people are the ones that won't let their women look at another man in passing or have we forgotten this? Or what about the cells that took all those lives on Sept. 11th. Oh but our President wants to appologize for what! So they can send inscripted messages through their holly quran. Let's think about this!!! I think human life is far more valuable than a BOOK!!!!

From what I have read the incident was initiated by prisioners usning Qurans as note pads for passing messages. Where is the anger about defacing the Qurans????

Quran is the speech of Allah not the speech of any creation so the safety of Holy Quran is necessary not only by memorizing it in the heart but also in written statement and make it's security more possible by obeying it's orders.
