Religion, gas prices, and beating Obama on the minds of Alabama

By Paul Steinhauser, CNN

Gardendale, Alabama (CNN) – Faith, gas prices, and electability. Those are three of the issues very much on the minds of some voters in this town about ten miles north of Birmingham.

"Evangelical issues, social issues, were most important to us, but also beating Obama, that definitely matters as well," Alan and Kim Jerkins told CNN, as they left a polling station at the Gardendale Civic Center. The married couple had just voted in the state's Republican presidential primary. They said they cast ballots for former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, who has strong support with many social conservative voters.

"Everybody's got baggage," said Teresa McGovern, who added that what mattered most to her was "the religious aspect of it as well, who feels one way or another about God, because that is important. A man is guided by his moral beliefs. I don't care what he says politically, morally he'll come through. So when i looked at that I ultimately had to go with who would get the job done, who had enough moxie to stand up."

You can expect gas prices to rise every spring. It seems to get earlier and earlier each year. That's because oil futures traders know demand for gas rises in the summer. They therefore start buying oil futures contracts in the spring in anticipation of that price rise."

  2. Prayer is not healthy for children and other living things

Prayer takes people away from actually working on real solutions to their problems.
Prayer has been shown to have no discernible effect towards what was prayed for.
Prayer prevents you from getting badly needed exercise.
    Prayer makes you fat.
Prayer wears out your clothes prematurely.
Prayer contributes to global warming through excess CO2 emissions.
Prayer fucks up your knees and your neck and your back.
Prayer can cause heart attacks, especially among the elderly.
Prayer reveals how stupid you are to the world.
Prayer exposes your backside to pervert priests.
Prayer makes you think doilies are exciting.
Prayer makes you secretively flatulent and embarrassed about it.
Prayer makes your kids avoid spending time with you.
    Prayer gives you knobbly knees.
Prayer makes you frothy like Rick Santorum. Just google him to find out.
    Prayer dulls your senses.
Prayer makes you post really stupid shit.
    Prayer makes you hoard cats.
Prayer makes you smell like shitty kitty litter and leads you on to harder drugs.
    Prayer wastes time.

The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!!!~ .....

That's because Alabama doesn't think the civil war is over. They still ride around with their rebel flags, gun racks in the back window of their Chevy pickups, yee ha...They along with some other southern states specialize in inbreeding, been there, seen it...They definitly hate blacks and they'll tell you so,they hate POTUS Obama and can't believe A BLACK MAN is running this country.NASCAR ,huntin, and Alabama football,ROLL TIDE,is all they know..For them to vote ya have to have a polling place on the left hand side, ala NASCAR pit stop. You also have to explain in clear English how to vote, that's a must....Some residents need proper I'D because being on moonshine so long, they forgot who they are....If you bring up any gun laws, they'll all come to vote against it...They're lucky they got what they got for votes, they're notoriously lazy people, that's my experience, pure fact....
