New Bible translation aims at 'own it but haven't read it' demoBy Stephen Walsh, CNN Professor David Capes says the Bible "is probably the most owned and least read book out there. That's because, for many, it's too difficult to understand." The "own it but haven't read it" demographic is his target market, says Capes, who teaches the New Testament at Houston Baptist University and was part of a team that compiled "The Voice," a new translation of the King James Bible. Capes told CNN that the motivation behind the translation, seven years in the making, was to emphasize the meaning behind the words. "'The Voice' considers the narrative links that help us to understand the drama and passion of story that is present in the original languages," according to the website for the book. "The tone of the writing, the format of the page, and the directness of the dialog allows the tradition of passing down the biblical narrative to come through in 'The Voice.'"
Capes' team decided not to include the words "angel and "apostle" in his translation. They've chosen alternatives. My Take: Stop sugarcoating the Bible "We asked, 'What kind of questions are they coming to the text with,'" Capes says. "We ... made that strategic decision, not to transliterate, but to translate everything, to give them the meaning of the text, and to give them the sense of where the story... is going." Dumbing down the Bible is not the answer. the answer s to educate people. If they are unwilling to be taught, then they have no one to blame but themselves with regards to understanding it the way it has evolved. There is a great resource for the history of the Bible & its translations in a book called "Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman. In this book, the long process of how our scriptures came to being is unveiled, and at the very least, certainly challenges the credibility of this man's interpretation.

Notice that the devil has eliminated the word devil from contemporary news and litature ? This is the first step then twist the gospel one faze at a time, until it resembles nothing or the original, but everyone will have read it. Me I'll go with Star Wars before I will accept a false doctrine, which by the way, warns against false doctrines. Its always one step at a time Just like congress selling out our freedoms, I wonder who gives them their marching orders?
Considering that it took the Church about 300 years, long after they had made up their minds about theology, to start picking scripture to match that doctrine, and that the oldest known copt of the bible has over 27,000 "corrections" written all over it, how can you be sure that the New Testament isn't full of false doctrine to begin with? The actual true doctrine of Jesus could have been recorded in some of the ruled out books and practiced by groups of Christians that the stronger party in Rome declared "heretic" and stamped out long ago. We may never know, right?

And they who disbelieved and denied Our signs – for those there will be a humiliating punishment. 22:57
"humiliating punishment", like standing on the shoulder of a highway, holding a sign saying "I Disbelieved"?

You mean knowing and wise things like these:
Don't bother warning the disbelievers. Allah has made it impossible for them to believe so that he can torture them forever after they die. 2:6-7
Allah will shed human blood while angels praise him in heaven. (The angels question why Allah has to kill people; Allah says they'd understand if they knew everything like he does.) 2:30
Christians and Jews (who believe in only part of the Scripture), will suffer in this life and go to hell in the next. 2:85
Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.) 2:191-2
