Romney to deliver Liberty University commencement speech

By the CNN Political Unit

(CNN) – Mitt Romney will deliver the commencement address at the evangelical Christian university led by Jerry Falwell, Jr., Liberty University said in a Thursday post to their website.

The school, located in Lynchburg, Virginia, will host the likely GOP nominee for their May 12 graduation.

In the statement, Falwell said he is "delighted" that Romney will attend, and noted that President George H.W. Bush delivered the university's 1990 commencement address. Ten years earlier, the university was visited by then-presidential candidate Ronald Reagan, he said.

As a Latter-day Saint (Mormon), here are just a few of my favorite scriptures from the Book of Mormon about Jesus Christ.

"And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins" (2 Nephi 25:26).

"And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent" (Mosiah 3:17).

"Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness" (Alma 7:14).

"Behold, I [Mormon] am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life" (3 Nephi 5:13).

"Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning" (3 Nephi 11:10-11).

  4. Reality

Romney believes that the horn-blowing angel Moroni appeared to the con artist Joe Smith. Not good for someone who wants to be president of any group !!!

Obama "mouths" that he is Christian i.e. believes in gay Gabriel and war-mongering Michael the Archangel and Satan.

Warren Buffett, THE AGNOSTIC, for President!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an insult to the students.. The founding principle of the university is that their god belief and manner of worship is correct and most others (especially Mormons) are heretics that do not worship correctly.. Now, at the end of their learning, they invite a "heretic" (according to them) to speak to their students?!? How f'ed up is that?

april is like emerging from a cave. I love tankig care of my plants, starting seedlings (for the first time ever after many phone consultations with my mom), and seeing my children relish the sun-shine and fresh air. Now, if I could only find a sunscreen that doesn't use nano-technology. Any ideas? Happy April to you!

    Prayer changes things .

Prayer doesn’t not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.

An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.

The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!.!.*

Hitler was an ideological opportunist who was happy to play both sides against the middle on this one, but by all means continue the game of hot potato with Hitler.
