Perkins on opposing same-sex marriage

(CNN)–Tony Perkins, head of the conservative Family Research Council, argues that children lose when gay marriage is legalized and that such unions represent the death knell of marriage.

Perkins  spoke with CNN's Brooke Baldwin.

    ONLY FOR THE NEWCOMERS––>>>>>>>>>>

"Abrahamics" like Perkins believe that their god created all of us and of course that includes the g-ay members of the human race. Also, those who have studied ho-mo-se-xuality have determined that there is no choice involved therefore ga-ys are ga-y because god made them that way.

    To wit:

    1. The Royal College of Psy-chiatrists stated in 2007:

“ Despite almost a century of psy-choanalytic and psy-chological speculation, there is no substantive evidence to support the suggestion that the nature of parenting or early childhood experiences play any role in the formation of a person’s fundamental heteros-exual or hom-ose-xual orientation. It would appear that s-exual orientation is biological in nature, determined by a complex interplay of ge-netic factors and the early ut-erine environment. Se-xual orientation is therefore not a choice.[60] "

    2. "Garcia-Falgueras and Swaab state in the abstract of their 2010 study, "The fe-tal brain develops during the intraut-erine periodin the male direction through a direct action of tes-tosterone on the developing nerve cells, or in the female direction through the absence of this hor-mone surge. In this way, our gender identi-ty (the conviction of belonging to the male or female gender) and s-exual orientation are programmed or organized into our brain structures when we are still in the womb. There is no indication that social environment after birth has an effect on gender ident–ity or s-exual orientation."[8

    3. See also the Philadelphia Inquirer review “Gay Gene, Deconstructed”, 12/12/2011. Said review addresses the following “How do genes associated with ho-mose-xuality avoid being weeded out by Darwinian evolution?”

Of course, those gays who belong to Abrahamic religions are supposed to obey the rules of no adu-ltery or for-nication allowed.

And because of basic biology differences said monogamous ventures should always be called same-s-ex unions not same-s-ex marriages.

From below, on top, backwards, forwards, from this side of the Moon and from the other side too, gay se-xual activity is still mutual masturbation caused by one or more complex se-xual differences. Some differences are visually obvious in for example the complex maleness of DeGeneres, Billy Jean King and Rosie O'Donnell.

Yes, heteros-exuals practice many of the same "moves" but there is never a doubt who is the female and who is the male.

As a Christian, this bothers me a great deal. Why vilify a group of people? I don't understand the reasoning here. I do think hom.ose.xuality is wrong, but I'm not going to put that belief on someone else. If someone asks, I'll answer honestly, but that's all. Equal rights should be afforded to us all...no exceptions.

To this issue, I think divorce is much more damaging to a child than being raised in a happy, hom.ose.xual home.

BO has a long way to go considering he still believes in god, angels and atonement theology. When he finally tells the truth about these, then I will listen.

Sadly, Mr. Orifice, I wouldn't hold my breath. I offer up interracial marriage as an example. When Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving had the audacity to fall in love and marry, 94% of the public nationwide said interracial marriage was wrong. By the time SCOTUS ruled on it 10 years later – in 1968 – 74% said interracial marriage was wrong. If we had waited until at least 50% +1 of the public nationwide approved of interracial marriage, we would have waited until 1997!

But wait! There's more! In a Public Policy Polling survey from April 2011, 46% of republicans in Mississippi still said that interracial marriage should be illegal.

In case some of the ignorant fundiots missed that, let me repeat it – in 2011, in modern day Mississippi, almost half of republicans STILL think that those "colored" folks have no business marrying us white folks.

Family Research Council? Why is that name familiar?

Say! Wasn't one of their founding board members a guy named George Rekers? Wasn't Dr. Rekers one of the big-wigs in the anti-gay movement? Wasn't he one of thee folks vilifying gay folks, wanting to enact legislation legalizing discrimination against them? Wasn't he one of the leaders of the reparitive therapy movement, claiming he could "cure" folks of their gayness?

And isn't Geoge Rekers the exact same hômophobic fundiot bigot who got caught metaphorically speaking with his pants dowm – with a rentable boy-toy on an all expense vacation?

Wonder how close George and Tony were?

I may never quote Fox news again, but tey found this for me:

•The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) indicate that Jesus died before nightfall on the 14th day of Nisan; right before the start of the Passover meal.
•John’s gospel differs from the synoptics; apparently indicating that Jesus died before nightfall on the 15th day of Nisan.

Yes folks, even the FOX NEWS people know the Bible conflicts with itself on some important issues.
Once you know it has mistakes, shouldn't that make you wonder just how reliable the othre parts are?
Like the parts that promote judgement and hate instead of acceptance and love?

Brooke Baldwin & Bill O'Reilly have this much in common: unbiased, objective news journalism.

Seriously, isn't this just Fox News style reporting from the other side of the tracks? Why do we need to hear the interviewer's bias? If the roles were reversed, how many of these favorable comments would be incredulous that a so-called "objective" news interview was carried on this way?

    May 25, 2012 at 1:52 pm |

      @ Russ

She did the job required.. A journalist is supposed to ask tough questions.. She didn't even put forth an opinion.. What "bias" are you imagining, here?

@ momoya & mandarax: thank you for demonstrating my point. we are often blind to our own bias. and, as I said, put it to the test: if that's really so "unbiased," why don't we see similar behaviors & styles of questioning offered against the g.ay lobby (cutting off the speaker, visibly agitated with the interviewee's responses, etc.)?

@ mandarax: you do know that stephen colbert does satire, right?

@ MarkinFL: yes, and the truth reveals who the bi.gots are on both sides. it amazes me sometimes how much the far left and far right look alike.

Perkins and his ilk are such fundiot liars.

    From http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/118/1/349.full#sec-23

There is ample evidence to show that children raised by same-gender parents fare as well as those raised by heterosèxual parents. More than 25 years of research have docûmented that there is no relationship between parents' sèxual orientation and any measure of a child's emotional, psychosocial, and behavioral adjustment. These data have demonstrated no risk to children as a result of growing up in a family with 1 or more gay parents. Conscientious and nurturing adults, whether they are men or women, heterosèxual or hômosèxual, can be excellent parents. The rights, benefits, and protections of civil marriage can further strengthen these families.

while I thought she did an OK job, why didn't she nail this cretin to wall? Why didn't she bring up any of the dozens and dozens of research projects showing that these cretins are lying? Better yet, why didn't she bring in any of the experts whose research has shown that kids raised by gay parents fair just as well (if not better) than straight parents.

    After watching the vid:

    1. If, in fact, as the ant-gay marriage folks assert, this issue will hurt Obama in the polls, why not applaud him on his honesty?. Why not thank him for putting his values above his desire for re-election?. Why act as if Obama should NOT be honest in order to gain more votes?. It seems more like the idea of him losing votes over this is just wishful thinking on their part..

    2. When Perkins was asked why it was that in one state the offered gay marriage the divorce rate DROPPED, he claimed that the decline in divorce was due to less people entering into the marriage contract.. Okay, so what's the problem, Tony?. If there's less divorce BECAUSE of less marriages, then that means more people who would have gone through the often-hurtful process of divorce aren't making the initial mistake of marriage.. Right?

    May 25, 2012 at 1:05 pm |
    • HotAirAce

If fewer people got married, more people must be boinking out of wedlock, unless someone can show that people have become more chaste, and I would say that there's a higher probability of there being a god than that. Anyway, Perkins should have been outraged about all the hetro adultery that must be going on and which likely has a far greater affect on hetro families than what gay marriage would.
