Same-sex ceremony on Army post draws fire

By Alan Duke, CNN

(CNN) - A same-sex ceremony between an enlisted woman and a civilian woman on a U.S. Army post last month drew protests from lawmakers Thursday.

The "private religious ceremony" took place at Fort Polk in Louisiana in May, post spokesman Scott Stearns said, but he would confirm few other details.

Rep. John Fleming, a Louisiana Republican whose congressional district includes the Army post, said the military confirmed to him that the same-sex ceremony was performed by an Army chaplain in the chapel.

The incident was an inevitable consequence of the end of the don't ask, don't tell policy in September, which previously banned homosexuals from military service, Fleming said.

That was ny first concern, the desecration of chapels. How wicked and perverse. Chaolians are spineless anyway.

You may not realize that Army chapels are shared by all religions on many posts. The Army doesn't have the money to buy each cult their own place of worship.

The last time I looked the rainbow wasn't copyrighted. Anyone is free to use it in any manner they like.

It's just a natural phenomenon. Take light and shine it through water drops, boom, you've got a rainbow. Nothing mysterious about it.

Isn't it just bizzare how the mirco-film flight manifests for all fo.reign incoming flights at the "time" of Obama's birth are mysteriously missing. And I'm sure it is just a coincidence that all the rest of them are right there where they should be. This man is the biggest FRAUD ever to be perpetrated on the American people. The compliant major media outlets are an absolute joke. This is like the Soviet Union of old. Funny how they report about Obama's falsified docu.ments, as they launch ICBM's and threaten a pre-emptive strike on the European missile defense shield while Obama is busy destoying 3/4's of our nukes. Just who's side is this Manchurian candidate on anyway?

God doesn't change? Have you actually read the bible? It is chock full of God changing. What about the contrast between the monster in the old testament to the horse-thief in the new testament? Or are you one of those Christians hat like to ignore those passages? Remember in Exodus when God "hardened Pharaoh's heart" and wouldn't allow Pharaoh to comply with his demand? Remember when God held Pharaoh responsible for that? Remember when God killed all those people because of that? I so wish you people would quit worshiping fairy tales. It's not real! You are more moral than your God is! Who loves their children so much that he would condemn them to eternal damnation? On this planet, we put parents like that in prison.

so you god still like to kill sun worshipers and demand you don't eat pork

Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5

      Deuteronomy 14:8

You should be more worried about your own morals and stop judging others as if you were a "God". That is unless, of course, you think that legalizing gay marriage will cause you to finally come out of the closet!

      June 9, 2012 at 5:15 pm |

The collective morality as well as our own should be a concern to all humanity. We pray that God blesses America, but how can He bless us if we permit such depravity. We will have to answer for it one way or another. I want my kids and grandkids to live in a blessed America.

Good for the Army and good for this couple. People who are so against gay marriage because of religious beliefs should be locked away in their churches for the rest of their lives. Jesus would disavow all of you in a heartbeat. You people have twisted his message so much he might as well be up there with Mao. When will you Christians wake up and see what you have become. You people are becoming the scourge of the earth and I hope someday to see the end of your hateful religion.

Saturday seems to be a slow day for posting. The religious fanatics are still sleeping off Friday night's debauchery at the local watering hole. Sometime after noon they'll rise and shine then get ready to head out the door to push old ladies under buses, burn down orphanages, and spew hate at anyone who appears good and decent. They have a lot to get done in a crowded Saturday day afternoon. All this so they can go to church Sunday morning pretending that they love Jesus and are following God's commandments.

You know I'm right! Now get busy. Get the snakes ready for tomorrow. Make sure you have enough strychnine for church. Find your mom's teeth she left at the bar last night. Get your dad out of jail. Get Uncle Harry off the roof–or at least make him put some clothes on. Make sure Aunt Sally got home from the frat house last night. Iron your overhauls for church tomorrow.

Most rednecks prefer to get their bagging and birthing done by Friday. This leaves the weekend free to go to Walmart for guns and ammo, to string more barbed wire around their double wides, and to boink their cousins.

Wrong!! You're putting a label on us. I can buy ammo by the case at the Army Navy store, don't have a double wide since the bank took it back and haven't boinked a cousin since Sally got hitched. I think I deserve an apology.

Let's not be too hard on the Christians. Sure they believe in a magical Daddy floating in the firmament called the magical kingdom of heaven. We all believed in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy at one time. Of course that was when we were children. As we grew up we tossed aside the nonsense of the Easter Bunny, unicorns, and such. It is troubling, however, that these Christians cling desperately to mythological beings into adulthood. I changed my mind. We should be hard on them. Just don't tell them Santa Claus isn't real. We don't want to kick them when they're down.
